I've been thinking about this game a little more, and I wanted to talk about a few things to help me start planning in earnest. Previously I mentioned the idea of one of the warrior-suitors being a woman. I wanted it to be one of those situations where her father was a nobleman who failed to produce a male heir, eventually leading him to raise his daughter as a man (so that she might inherit his position and property). People would know that she's a woman, but they'd use male titles for her to reflect her rank in the social hierarchy. Does that sound workable enough? If so, I wonder if you'd give her a fair shake with the competition and whatever accompany romance games there may be. I think I could make it work either way, but it would be more fun if there was a possibility to have my character involved in some romance/drama. The other questions have to do with the larger world. I assume that there have been militarized conflicts in the past years since the departure of the princess - chances for young soldiers to make names for themselves. But I wonder what force these conflicts would have been against. Is the Crystal Kingdom opposed to other human/humanoid kingdoms? Or would it be more likely that the past battles were against monsters and fantasy creatures of some sort? If the latter, would they have been the standard fare of orcs, goblins, trolls, etc. Or some other kinds of monsters? You don't have to answer everything right away but we could start thinking about that kind of thing.
