[@Ace of flames01]How are these abilities powered? Is it internal, like a battery? How do they "charge" it? Or is it external, converting something outside of them, such has heat, that they draw out of large area? Large battles may require the construction of ovens for the combatants to draw on, while small battles between a few can cause frost and hypothermia in people who are too close. Secondly, is one of the abilities to stop others from using theirs? A gifted dampener? No matter what's thrown at them, they can just negate it?
So I don't know if there's a "battery" or a way to "charge" it per say. It's a genetic trait and the powers are supernatural in nature (think the mutants from Xmen). But the original Gifted were a result of human experimentation and, more specifically, gene splicing. There is certain tech used by The Hunters that act as a shock collar to temporarily neutralize Gifted inmates but if you're looking to make a character with a sort of Gifted EMP power that could be interesting. All Gifted abilities are genetic and the abilities inherited from generation to generation are down to a game of genetic lottery. It's kinda like whether a child will be born with blue eyes or brown eyes. But each individuals powers manifest differently, for example a parent might be able freeze things without having to touch them but their child with the same ability might have to be touching the object in order to freeze it. Most children start manifesting their abilities around the ages of 8-10 years old. I hope that clarifies things a little bit!
