I have seen all 15 seasons of the show and have been re-watching it, so no need to worry about spoilers.

While she isn't a demon, she DOES have demon blood. Crowley has been searching for this girl for some time and finally comes across her, kidnapping her and taking her down to Hell. She becomes his personal blood slave. Her special demon blood giving Crowley the juice to destroy Lucifer the more of it he drinks / consumes. In his pastime however, he enjoys torturing her, collecting her blood to drink later. Her cries of pain reach Sam who is on a job with Dean, his physic powers connected to the Yellow-Eyed-Demon.

Her demonic blood is craved by demons looking to become more powerful, leaving Sally to feel she lives a hunted life. She is one night kidnapped by Crowley and taken to Hell, where her cries of pain from the torture reaches Sam.
