[indent][indent][list][*]Luis Javier Villanueva and Francisca Cruz emigrated from Mexico to the US as teenagers in search of the American Dream. Through hard work, determination, and a knack for networking, Luis Javier was ultimately able to found [i][b]Villanueva Construction[/b][/i]: a construction company that would grow to be one of the most reliable, sought-after and profitable in the state of Florida.
[*]Paulina is the oldest of Pedro (Luis Javier and Francisca’s oldest son) and Rosaura Villanueva’s three children with Pedro Jr. and Paloma as her younger and youngest siblings respectively.
[*]When Paulina expressed a desire to become an actress as a career, it wasn’t a surprise to any of those who knew her. Her love and natural talent for acting had always been part of her personality. As a child, Pau loved to put on little plays and performances for her family, sometimes with her cousins and siblings as willing (sometimes [i]un[/i]willing) participants. Although her parents encouraged her dream by enrolling her in acting classes and allowing her to participate in advertisements or commercials (which you can find if you search youtube), they were firm in their boundary of not allowing her to pursue that path until she was eighteen. Instead, Paulina was to focus her attention on her studies at King’s Academy, ensuring she got good grades that could help her pursue a higher education.
[*]While Paulina was friendly, polite, educated and sweet, the young woman who stepped on that stage was a force of nature. She put her heart out on every performance, and took every play and role she was in very seriously (probably [i]too[/i] seriously, depending on who you asked). So when this arrogant jock meathead by the name of Derex Steiner came stampeding into her turf banging on his chest, bragging about how easy ‘all of this’ was and not taking things seriously, an infuriated Pau gave him a tongue-lashing for the ages. Rex seemed to straighten up after that, and he put in enough quality work that they were eventually cast against each other as leads for an upcoming play.
[*]As time went on with them spending hours upon hours rehearsing lines in close quarters, Pau realized that Derex wasn’t so bad. There were [i]layers[/i], and she found herself liking every one of them more than the next. A “practice” kiss eventually turned into three, and before long they were officially together.
[*]Paulina and Derex’s relationship lasted until a few months after their graduation, with both of them hoping to not hinder the other’s professional growth. Since then, Pau’s focus has been solely on her career, only indulging in the occasional hookup with her ex [s](she can’t resist herself even if she tried)[/s].
[*]She pursued a higher education in acting at the California Institute of the Arts. During her college career, she hired an agent and began the grueling process of auditioning for roles in the industry. Thanks to her work ethic, natural talent and her agent’s connections, it wasn’t long before Paulina began to consistently land work, with each role better than the next. Currently, she has cemented herself as one of Hollywood’s darling actresses (think Jennifer Lawrence when she won that Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook).
