It's called Separate Entombment. This takes several people to perform and has become a ritualistic execution. First magic is applied to restrict regeneration as much as possible. Then caps are applied to severed appendages as well as the cut off ones. Then with each removal they are places in jars. These jars are sent in different directions. Some end up underwater.
