She keeps her hair long, but rarely has the time to give it a dedicated hair care routine, so it's often quite messy. Her sense of style is ecletic and oriented towards the practical, formal wear is rare and she really does love jeans and graphic t-shirts. Delia also likes to throw in a few eye-searingly bright colors to keep things interesting, and even has a few bits of clothing that she's augmented with programmable RGB lights. She also likes to wear sunglasses when she can get away with it, though she will try to come up with other justifications, her real reason is because she thinks they make her look cool and mysterious. Her favorite item of clothing is a denim jacket full of iron on patches, an ever growing collection things she finds cool

Personality

Uncompromising, Prickly and Energetic are all words that come up when describing Delia. She doesn't mince words, doesn't care much about politeness, will stand and defend her viewpoints, and is slow to trust people. She gets bored quickly and has mischevious streak, but when she finds a subject she's interest in she becomes a tornado of activity. She doesn't go out of her way to start fights or drama, she just has trouble understanding how her blunt nature can sometimes create social faux pas. Delia is also extremely loyal to those she cares about, standing with them through thick and thin. On stage she likes to have a minimal presence for two main reasons: 1. She believes the music should be the star, not herself. 2. She is usually juggling enough complexities in the live performance that she doesn't have the capacity to worry about putting on a show for the crowd. James was an engineer with a creative side, Noor was a writer who seemed to be fascinated by anything and everything, they had a passionate but ultimately ill-fated relationship. Initially, Delia went to live with her mother, but when she was still young her mother had a mental health episode and could no longer take care of her, so she moved to Los Angeles with her father. He cared for her as best he could, and while his work in electrical engineering brought in decent money, the change in his lifestyle meant that his time for other hobbies was severely constrained. James' minor sidegig as an electronic musician came to a complete halt when he had to raise Delia, when he was all by himself, he could churn out unsuccessful albums on whatever tiny record label would have him and stay up late playing small gigs for beer money, all he had time for as a single dad was halfhearted attempts at making music after she had gone to sleep at night. He was happy to see that she had the same impulse in her, and as soon as she was old enough, he enrolled her in piano lessons, which she loved. As she got older, she kept up the lessons but also came to love videogames and working with her dad on electronic projects; all three of her hobbies rewarded dedicated practice and creative thought. High School in Los Angeles afforded her a lot of opportunities to make friends with similar interests, she even joined a couple of high school bands, most which lasted two practice sessions or less before breaking up, let alone managing to play an actual gig. Life was going well for Delia, but then came a change she that would make her very unhappy. When she was a teenager, her father married a woman named Grace Liu, despite meeting late in life they seemed to get along perfectly, some say it was because they were both introverted and prone to nerdy hobbies, others that they were both people that had neglected romance for other causes (raising Delia in James' cases, her career in Grace's) long enough that they both came to it late in life. While James and Grace got along swimmingly, Delia and her stepmother were like oil and water from the very start. Delia finds Grace utterly joyless and boring, pretty much the only thing the woman reads is scientific papers, and she is ruthlessly practical in all aspects of her personal life. Shortly after the marriage, the family packed up and moved to Santa Fe for Grace's job, forcing Delia to say goodbye to all of her friends in high school. Santa Fe was not like Los Angeles; the pace of life was slower and far less exciting. Delia, who already had difficulties making friends, retreated more into solitary activities, focusing on her three hobbies even moreso. Her grades were good, and when it came time for college, she had many ideas for what to study, but ultimately there was only one degree that she managed to get her stepmom on board with: Electrical Engineering. Undergrad was easy for her, easy enough that she could slack off, still making good grades while taking on goals like practicing speedrunning videogames or trying to sneak into university buildings she wasn't supposed to be in. One thing she knew in college was that she didn't want this freedom to end. In college, her time was her own, she could work on the projects she wanted to work on and rush through the boring ones. Naturally, she decided to go to graduate school, moving on to continue her studies at Caltech. Unfortunately, she learned that graduate school was a whole new level of difficulty, and her old work ethic resulted in poor grades. The university has required her to suspend her studies and reconsider her commitment to the program for a period time, so Delia has moved back home with her parents. After an icy confrontation between Grace and Delia, they managed to find a compromise. On paper, Delia would use the time off to catch up on her studies, help out James with the music equipment rental business he is trying to start, and stop spending so much time online. Delia doesn't really have any intentions of honoring the bargain, but she knows that if she doesn't find another route, she'll be left with having to go into a career she hates or head back to college and risk failing out, coming out with no graduate degree and a mountain of debt. That was when she went to her high school reunion and began to think that maybe music was an option that was still on the table for a fleeting moment.
