It's only after looking closer that they learn painfully that the rolls of fat on his belly are actually muscle and that his arms and hands are the size of Christmas hams. They see his sharp angles of his face and his hardened eyes that are the shade of granite. Lachlan's girth and stature hails from his alpine ancestry and spartan training as a Gurkha. His spartan-like training hasn't done wonders for his fashion either. He prefers to clip his black hair to a short buzz cut and always wears a permanent shit-eating grin in spite of the situation. Fashion isn’t Lachlan’s strong suit as he prefers to wear simple linen and canvas clothing and cheaply manufactured nylon shirts with British pop cultural references on them. With authority from the King’s Majesty, I authorize Lance Corporal Lachiman Gurung as the U.K’s representative into the Minerva Taskforce. [/sub]
____________________________________________________________________________ BIOGRAPHY
[sub] Born into a goatherder’s family in Kathmandu, Lachiman Gurung had little idea of what he was going to do in life. Sure, he was fine milking goats, weaving wool and scooping goat shit until he married his neighbour’s daughter but was this really the Lachiman that the world deserved or needed? Well, life had another plan as his parents ordered him to go pack up his backs and join the Royal Gurkha Army so that they could stop living in a hut and move to Manchester where they could listen to the Spice Girls. At the ripe bold age of 16,. Lachiman was first ordered by an ugly man taller than him and fond of swearing to go carry a basket of rocks up the Himalayas. After trial upon grueling trial, Lachiman became one of 50 in his class to become a Gurkha. After his family moved to the UK as he began his tours in his Majesty’s Army, Lachiman grew accustomed to life in the U.K like a goat eating weeds. Pepsi. Punk rock. Doctor Who. Lachiman swapped out his simple mind of a goatherder for that of a right proper british lad who spoke the King’s tongue. His tours in the sandboxes of Afghanistan and Iraq soon shattered his realities but not his spirit. Lachiman was known amongst his fellow soldiers as having an indomitable spirit and a permanent smile glued to his lips, even as he was braining insurgents with the stock of his trusty LMG. Iraq Medal - Awarded for 5 years of service in Afghanistan. Victoria Cross - Awarded to Lance Corporal Lachiman Gurung for his actions on 27-03-2010 on Herat Province on the Kandahar-Herat driveway. Lance Corporal Lachiman Gurung was a part of a 10-man squadron escorting a relief convoy to the Urukhat Village Quarter, a trio of native villages which had been liberated from Taliban control. When a 60 man team of Taliban insurgents ambushed the van on 22:57:30 with remote-detonated IEDs, Lance Corporal Lachiman Gurung, with a broken arm, coordinated a defense against the attackers with the remaining 4 members of his squad. Expending over 1,500 rounds of ammunition and 10 grenades against the attackers, the Lance Corporal fended off the Taliban attackers for more than 30 minutes whilst managing to injure 30 and kill 10. When his personal weapon sustained a critical mechanical error in the field from overheating, Lachiman Gurung proceeded to kill 3 more Taliban insurgents in close quarters combat with only a single arm, a severe GWS in his lower stomach and a cracked rib. When reinforcements finally came, Lachiman Gurung was unconcious and had lost more than 4 pints of blood.
