Hair is often dyed. Beryl has hazel eyes, lightly tanned skin, and a broad smile. Outside of uniform, she is prone to exercise attire unless the situation calls for something more formal. [/sub][/indent] ____________________________________________________________________________ PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE [indent][sub] Beryl Spencer is generally an agreeable person to interact with. The patient is friendly and charismatic but shows classic signs of an avoidant-dismissive attachment style, preferring fleeting, causal relationships and with a distinct discomfort for greater emotional depth, even in sessions with a military psychologist. Likely, due to the loss of a parent at a young age. This independence is an asset in field operations, but less so regarding the patient's continued mental health. By all accounts, the patient is efficient and level-headed in combat and medical emergency situations. She performs well under pressure, works well with others, and is often known to resort to humor when experiencing stress. Following the events of [Redacted], Spencer was assigned mandatory psychiatric treatment for six months along with the rest of her battalion. Initial reports suggest that the patient was masking symptoms of severe post-traumatic stress disorder but, following an incident with [Redacted], began to respond well to cognitive processing therapy. Upon completing the program, I professionally recommended Beryl Spencer's return to fieldwork. [/sub][/indent] ____________________________________________________________________________ BIOGRAPHY [indent][sub] The only child of two army personnel, a noncombat intelligence analyst and a ground forces officer, Spencer spent her early years moving frequently around the world as her parents' deployments shifted. At ten, her father was killed in an action. The loss devastated both Spencer and her mother, as the injury should have been treatable with standard battlefield medicine had their medic been able to reach him. It is likely this instance is a large part of Spencer's choice in MO. Beryl Spencer did not need the army. She excelled in undergrad, finishing Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry in three years. She spent four years in med school before graduating and enlisting in the Peace Corps, where she spent two years before completing her residency with the army. When asked in an advancement interview what effect this had on her, she laughed. "For years, even after I'd been deployed, some of the worst situations I'd been in were with the Corps. The worst conditions, the worst injuries... It was like my trial by fire." Following her residency, Spencer's ability and bravery saw her swiftly rise until she was retasked to the 75th Ranger Regiment. This has remained her longest-held post, and the various deployments she was assigned with the unit made up the backbone of her military career. For a time, Spencer made herself a home amid her comrades at arms between harrowing missions. But she was not made to stay forever in one place. When she heard that one of the battalion medics was to be sent to a unified task force with a classified mission, she volunteered. Always on to the next interesting thing. or else, running from what came before.
