[b]Booker Bio:[/b]
Dusty Brisco is a second generation promoter. APW was founded thirty years ago by former pro wrestler Big Donnie Brisco. APW originally started in a high school gym in Roanoke and has expanded slowly ever since. APW joined the NWA in the late 60’s and firmly made Appalachia it’s territory. In early 1979, Big Donnie took over the territory of the failing Smoky Mountain Wrestling and expanded APW into Tennessee and Kentucky. With a myriad of health problems and a lifetime of traveling under his belt, Big Donnie retired in 1987 and handed the business over to Dusty. Although raised in the industry, he struggles to fill his father’s shoes as both booker and promoter. With his father’s guidance behind the scenes, Dusty APW continues it’s steady march as one of the core members of the NWA. While Big Donnie sat on the board’s championship booking committee, Dusty has neither the clout of connections just yet to make it there.
