Yet he is by no means frail, his back as straight as when he arrived in Arcane Junction, his hair as long and thick as ever, his grey eyes no less bright with curiousity and intellect. He measures a respectable 6 feet, and while he lacks the muscles of a warrior or youth, he has taken every effort to remain fit and it shows. As befits a wizard of his standing he dresses in durable tailored robes, preferring shades of grey and blue, and is rarely seen without at least a few pieces of enchanted jewelery.
HISTORY
Born to a family of moderately successful mercahnts within the lands of the Solar Brotherhood, from a young age he showed the signs of Lightning Affinity and the related arcane potential, little things like unusually potent static shocks after playing on rugs as a child and sensing the coming of thunderstorms a little earlier than everyone else. His family saw the potential and hired tutor to begin instruction in his early teens, teaching him the basics of the arcane as well as topics of history, geography, literature and mathematics, all so he could impress his way into one of the prestigious arcane colleges of Arcane Junction. At the age of 17 he was accepted into the Gildspire, one of the foremost colleges of Evocation in Arcane Junction, and therefore the world. For the next decade he studied, attending lectures, analysing tomes and scrolls, and experimenting, his primary area of study was naturally Evocation with a focus on the manipulation of Lightning, but it was also here that he first took an interest in history, for many of the reference texts were centuries old. When his 10 years of formal study were finally up, he simply opted to remain, joining the ranks of researchers and teachers, a position available due to his exemplary performance. As his knowledge and power grew, he became more independant, and indeed more wealthy for the services of an expert wizard are always in demand. It was at this point that he began to pursue his own interest in history, long had he been frustrated by the lack of deatils on past events, how did the world not know where the Maestro was bound? Why is there nothing but myth to explain the origins of nations? He lead research expeditions to the corners of the world, always well staffed as helping on such an exhibition meant spending weeks with the personal attention a master evoker, meant meeting his connections in the artefact trade, meant getting to leave the city and get actual practice blasting rubble to ash, or indeed blasting bandits, goblins and other such threats. he even spent a few years in The Ironspire Citadel, studying their ancient records. Some called his studies pointless, distractions from the true study of magic, not many though, not since that time in his late 40s he challenged one of them to a wizard's duel and struck him down with a single bolt of lightning.
FEARS
Iveous is not a man particularly prone to fear, for he is powerful, experienced and perhaps even wise. Of course he is only mortal, and like all mortals, he fears death, it's not a topic he dwells upon, the opposite in fact, he actively pushes it from his mind. Being chosen by the fates therefore has brought a sense of dread he consciously avoids acknowledging, for he knows that the Chosen Five died to a man in the sealing of Malakith, and it seems even that did not hold him. Still, fear shall not get between him and what must be done.
GOALS
Iveus has always sought to unravel the mysteries of the past, to pick the facts out of mythology, were all the human lands really once united beneath a single banner, or is that just a story told by those who believe their particular nation should "reunite" them through conquest? Where was Malakith sealed? It's not really about any one of those or the many other questions one can ask, it's the big picture, how can one learn from history when it's buried in superstition and legends. Even beyond that, Iveus wants to preserve the knowledge of the present for those who come later, he wants to create a true archive of knowledge. That of course was before the Fates came to him. He has two new goals: His first priority is that Malakith must be defeated once more, his second is to find out why he was even able to break free when every source agreed the bindings were unbreakable, and once he knows, he intends to remedy that weakness. Survival would be nice too, but he knows the Fated Five didn't, so tries not to think about that.
SECRETS
Nothing particularly noteworthy, Iveus has never been one for secrecy, and has spent most of his life surrounded by the sort of nosy magi who sniff out the faintest hint of intrigue.
FLAW
From a combat perspective, there's the fact that he hasn't the faintest clue about nonmagical fighting, nor has he ever worn armour. On a more personal note however, Iveus has become rather complacent, for while he is no fool, it's been over a decade since he was truly challenged in an area of strength, as such he is rather overconfident about his chances in general.
Skills
While Iveus has dedicated most of his life to studying and improving his own magic, he has a few more mundane skills that might prove useful. Years studying the past, grasping for any fragments of written record forced him to pick up a variety of languages modern and dead. He's got experience rockclimbing, spelunking, and freediving, having lead many an archeological expedition to half buried or flooded ruins. He's passable at orienteering with a good map (of which he own a valuable collection), though dependant on a clear night sky or good compass. He also has honed his ability to notice magic, to spot when an object is enchanted or sense when something is affecting the ambient mana flows.
ABILITIES
Iveus is a wizard, a master evoker, his innate affinity is lightning, which will always be where he is strongest and he possesses a hard earned mastery of the school of evocation in general, possessing a masterful command of magical energy earned through decades of study. With a focused will and a gesture magic is channeled from within to affect the world around him, commanding the elements to his bidding.

Lightning:Iveous can call lightning from the sky or an outstretched finger, he can even cause it to arc between foes. As well as being the magic with which he is most innately in tune, he has always favoured it for the mix of destructive power and precise control, ideal for when you need to blast something to a charred pillar without damaging damaging the ancient mosaic 3 feet away.

Wind:Iveus can call up gusts of wind to blow away dust and fog, hinder arrows, fan a blaze or even send lighter foes flying.

Fire:While he prefers his lightning, Iveus has spent many years honing and expanding his power, he can throw explosive fireballs and unleash gouts of flame from his hands.

Ice:As with fire, not a specialty, but nonetheless at his disposal, generally not as effective as his other options, but he can call a forth a cone of heat stealing hail, shards of ice and such when the need arises.

Elemental Wall:With a sweeping gesture a thing barrier is formed from elemental power. A wall of flames or lightning is insubstantial, but harmful to those who touch it. A wall of ice provides a fragile, slippery, yet readily shaped opaque barrier. A wall of wind will hinder the passage of light objects like arrows and gases.

Borne aloft:An advanced technique of Wind, Iveus' magic lifts him into the air atop a miniature twister, he can maintain a speed comparable to walking or hover mostly in place while still being able to focus on other spells, or give it his full focus and move at a sprint.
FATED WEAPON
The Tome of Fated Words is Iveus gift, an weathered looking book embroidered with golden fated thread, when opened and held in hand the pages flutter, the sound of rustling paper audible to the holder over any amount of ambient noise, before landing open of their own accord, which power activates depends entirely one which pages appear.

Pages of Fated Wisdom:This power typically manifests outside of combat, when Iveus is not attempting a spell. Simple in form, the tome opens to pages containing some excerpt of text that bears relevance to Iveus current situation.

Fated Incantations:This is the power which typically shows up in combat, these pages contain incantations which seem to slip from the mind as soon as you look away from the page, but when Iveus chants them aloud as he casts a spell, they change it, generally making it stronger somehow, and always making it louder, a staccato of echoing thunder following every lightning bolt, fire and wind roar with sound of a gale, ice carries the deafening crack of glaciers breaking. The fleeting nature means he must focus his eyes upon the book for the entire chant, lifting them away to aim only as he speaks the final syllable and leaving him vulnerable until then. Combat isn't strictly a condition, its just that Iveus is an evoker and that's when he casts big spells.

And sometimes, the pages just flutter, never settling. Iveus does not yet know why this happens, though the rustling of paper is oddly comforting.
