We're off to a rather slow start, I'm finding, but no worries, because I'm sure things will pick up over time as the story progresses. For now, I chose to incorporate a bit of both suggestions given so far, so as to fill out the story more. Enjoy the read, and don't forget to give your input to advance the plot!

[h3]R1:E1: Save that snail![/h3]

[indent]Ignoring your alarm as it continues to sound in an endless loop, you awkwardly slide to the end of your bed and shift to sit up on your knees. With a bit of a stretch, you manage to reach up and retrieve your pet snail, Shelly, from the top of the bookcase, pulling her away from the D battery you left sitting up there until you could find the other battery...and the flashlight it was intended for. Boy you were are disorganized with this move...

Never the matter, you gently take Shelly in your hands and sit back on the bed for a moment, giving the little snail the love and attention she enjoys. You're grateful that getting up on top of the bookshelf from where you had left her next to your phone the previous night is the worst of the trouble the little gastropod got into...at least...as far as you can tell. The last time you let Shelly roam free, you remember with a shudder, you had somehow woken up to a fire in the kitchen. That was not a pleasant morning. You had hoped that Shelly would stay put this time, but with this, you admitted that you really did know that you should have pulled out her terrarium before going to bed.[/indent]

[center][h3]R1:E1: Eat a large breakfast[/h3][/center]

[indent]Such would have to wait a while longer, however, as you had work to do, and work could not be done without a proper breakfast to start the day!

Setting Shelly up on your shoulder--her usual place, despite how much it weirded others out about you--you slip the rest of the way off the bed, careful not to tip your already full hamper--yeah you should have done that laundry [i]before[/i] packing--then make way across the room to the ladder, still ignoring your alarm as it continues to sing. Food was too important.[/indent]

[indent]Down in the kitchen, with Shelly by your side, you quickly fix up a large breakfast of a massive omelet, plenty of turkey bacon, some fruit and berries, a chocolate protein shake, and, of course, some little "morsels" for Shelly. You set Shelly down in the second chair on top of a plate with her food, and settle down into your own seat with the food you prepared for yourself, and you begin eating, gaze fixed on the window across from you two as your mind begins to wander to the day ahead of you.

Your alarm continues to sound from above as you run over the list of things you'll need in your head. Your boots, for sure. A bottle of water and a pack with extra water too, obvious. Snacks, but nothing opened or it might attract something you [i]don't[/i] want to encounter. Your camera, obviously--good thing you remembered to plug that in along with your phone. You would need tools, such as knives and a shovel...er...no need to go into specifics on the reason for that one. Rope might be handy. So many things, you hope you'll be able to carry it all...[/indent]

[center][h3]R1:E1: Do what you came here to do.[/h3][/center]

[indent]Soon enough, you finish your meal, as does Shelly finish hers, and, returning the snail to her place as your moral angel, you quickly clean up the dishes and go to fix everything into a pack. With your phone still sounding, you take it off the charger, grab your bag, ensure Shelly is secure, and finally, [i]finally[/i] set off on your quest. The very reason for moving to this cabin to begin with.

You set off in search of Big Foot.[/indent]
