First Hayato attacks a Chunin, then Hosuka appears, then penalizes the girl who was attacked, and THEN insults Kirugetsu?! If he wasn't already so irate at Hayato, he'd have punched that smug look right off of the Hokage's face. He had the nerve to let Hayato live, despite knowing what he had just done... and THEN declare him to be kill on sight? This Hokage was not only punishing the wrong party, but making no sense while doing it. Something snapped in Kirugetsu's mind just then. And he went from completely enraged, to calm as could be. Hosuka then went on to belittle Kirugetsu's teaching methods, tell him that Hayato trying to kill an ally was basically forgiven because he was already an asshole, and even tried to hold the fact that Division B was wiped out as a reason behind telling Kirugetsu to not let his past get in the way of training his students... which it wasn't in the first place. To top off all the nonsensical garbage that the Hokage had just put forth, he proceeded to insult Kirugetsu's manliness by telling him he needed a damn pill to increase his virility. While a good idea in theory, the fact that he had pointed out was this: The tree that the blooms come from only does so once a year, the trees themselves were rare, the pill only works to conceive a child, with a chance at twins, more pills would be needed for more twins, the clan would be forced into inbreeding, and the fact was that the Hozuki Clan was a clan built on techniques known to the members, not on bloodline... so a pill creating quasi-clones that would later just lead to inbreeding was not needed in the first place. All that was needed was the scroll that Kirugetsu had kept secret from all but himself. The fact was that he had not found many that were able to learn his clan's techniques. He supposedly wanted Kirugetsu to reform the Hozuki Clan in Konoha... yet knew nothing of the clan itself. This was more of an insult than even telling the Jounin that he needed to take some magic sex pill to do it. Taking the pill in his hand, Kirugetsu smiled at Hosuka before speaking. "With all due respect, Lord Hokage..." the pill was crushed in the Hozuki's powerful grip. "... unlike you, I don't need a pill to help me out in the bedroom." the dust from the pill was released, and scattered in the gentle breeze as Kirugetsu turned to his student. "As the Hokage said, it was Hayato. He went off the deep end. And no, we let him go for now. He's faster than the both of us, and long gone by now. So for now we simply go on as normal." He sighed heavily and patted the Hyuga boy's shoulder. "Get some rest, gather your thoughts, and prepare yourself. Your first mission will occur the day after tomorrow." Not really able to focus on work at this point, Kirugetsu simply looked at Hosuka and shook his head as if to say "not now". He then walked away, clenching his fists in frustration at the days events. He didn't really know what to do other than go home. So, with the debacle still fresh in his mind, Kirugetsu wandered back to his modest house. A shower, a meal, and a bit of writing later, he came to a conclusion... his efforts to assist this village were pointless when such a failure was Hokage. There were two options... one was killing the Hokage, which he could not do with the nigh-invincible monster known as Shin guarding him. That left... only one choice. Taking the scroll he held so dearly, Kirugetsu took a match to it, condemning the Hozuki Clan's techniques to fade from the world. If they fell into the wrong hands, the effects could be disastrous... better to destroy them than to let that happen. Then there was his blade. So enhanced by the fact it pierced one of Sai's hearts... yet still reliant on the skills of the wielder. He brought it up to his face, admiring the craftsmanship of the fine weapon. He then belched acid onto the blade. No matter the craftsmanship, the chakra-enhanced acid would dissolve it into a worthless heap of barely-recognizable slag. Last but not least, there was a final obstacle that would need removing if he was to be rid of the hypocritical and inept leadership of Hosuka. ... that obstacle was himself. Unclipping the small blade from his hip, Kirugetsu sat it on his bed. He then took out the explosive tags from the pouch on his belt, placing one on each arm and leg... with the last on the back of his head. His will set, he picked up the tanto and jabbed it into his neck just below his right jawbone. The pain was intense, but he had endured worse over his life. Dragging the blade toward the left, he carved a lethal wound into his throat. Even then, he did not die immediately... but was fading fast. Mustering the last of his concentration, Kirugetsu focused what little chakra he could to detonating the tags he attached to himself. Simultaneously, they exploded with a great amount of force, shredding the Hosuki's body into a paste of bone chips, charred tissue, and blood. This sort of attack would even have harmed him in battle and with Hydrification active, let alone as a method of suicide and with no defenses active at all. The force of the explosion would be felt several houses away, and likely noticed by at least one of the village's shinobi. But it would be too late, The explosions had set fire to several items in the home... and that fie had spread to the walls, the carpets, and the frame of the house itself. Any hope of salvation for the Hozuki Clan had now gone up in smoke along with the clan's prized techniques, Kirugetsu's remains, and even the powerful weapon that had been forged in two wars. A sad day for Konoha. A sad day for Team Moon. A sad day all around. Kirugetsu Hozuki... war hero, sensei, celebrity, suicide. He had given his all for the wars he fought, but in the end it was all he knew. The flames kissed the air around the Jounin's dwelling, keeping all at bay who could not use water element ninjutsu. And even they were kept back for a short time by the intense heat of the blaze. After a short while and the liberal application of water techniques, the flames would die down. However, the home was badly damaged and the room where the suicide had taken place was a total loss. The remains were burned into ashes, destroying any shred of DNA that remained from the initial blasts. The scroll, which had already been burned before the explosions and fire, was now just as much scattered dust as everything else that had caught fire. And the remnants of the Hozuki's prized blade were mangled and unrecognizable among the rubble and wreckage of the room. The destruction was total... Kirugetsu was dead and gone, his weapon destroyed, and the techniques of the Hozuki clan lost. The village of Konoha had lost one of its most cherished shinobi... and none would know why he had chosen to end his own life.
