I have a huge recommendation for any Potter fans who want something more mature in a similar vein to Potter. Look up a book called [b]the Magicians by Lev Grossman[/b], it's an amazing read which takes a brilliant (and perhaps more realistic) approach to magic and it's effects on those who can use it. 

As the Guardian put it: [i]''The Magicians is Harry Potter for grown-ups,''[/i]. 

As for what I'm reading now, I'm currently about to finally get round to reading ASOIAF (A Song of Ice and Fire) series. I originally started reading them a few months back but stopped at book three (A Storm of Swords) so I want to actually get through them this time as my memories from the last time I read them make me hold ASOIAF in high esteem.
