The day was March 30th of the year 413 in Zenerga. Just a normal day, in a normal month, in a previously uneventful year. Yet for thousands of years to come this day would stand out from every other day in that month, in that year, perhaps even in all of time- for that day was the day the war began. What started out as an innocent mistake- Voraki military firing at an embassy ship from Ecana, mistaking them for a group of pirates that had been raiding the coasts for week- quickly escalated into a full-scale war between the two nations. On that same day, near the southern coast of the peaceful kingdom of Morr, a young man sat in his four-room house at the edge of a small village called L'nocdym, tinkering with a child's small wind-up toy. Zucabr Arrim found it ironic in a way that was not humorous at all that after aspiring for so many years to be so much greater than his father that he had eventually ended up with the exact same job. Sure, sometimes he was called on to recalibrate a robotic limb or repair a broken irrigation pump, but usually he just sad around fixing children's toys and small appliances. He had heard the news of the outbreak of war from his radio earlier, and it had enraged him greatly, but now he had completely calmed. What could he, a single man, do about such folly? Surely it was better to just hide out in Morr, where it was safe and quiet, was it not? Thinking this, he quickly looked to a small wooden box labeled "Dividend" under his workbench, then looked away. Maybe he could do something if he used THAT, but he would never dare to risk such a thing, to unleash the horrible monster that he already knew was lurking inside him. So instead he sighed and went back to work, another uneventful day in a series of uneventful days.
