My first idea was that only Conor doesn't remember that night because he partied too hard and drank too much :rock 

stretching it further a bit - maybe max told him how to get rid of the body but he forgot to do it and just left him in the basement. Then when Ashling comes by it becomes her problem as well...

Conor is like the total screw up you wouldn't want to screw with.
