The dawn breaks every morning, sunlight spewing across a grey land. A land tormented with war, loss and disease; a land torn apart by greed. The sun sets every evening, bringing with it the darkness that only death itself rivals. For this land is a land with no escape and no paradise. A place where happiness is found in the deepest depths of misery. A land where only the few are privileged and even then, living like no human should have to. And so the decades wear on, hate breeding hate, war breeding war. Two rival kingdoms have brought destruction no matter where they roam, destroying small villages and disrupting the peace that everyone once knew. The two old kings are determined. One will have the world at their command, whilst the other will be beaten into submission. The only thing standing in their way is each other. When the world is merely a pile of ashes, what are you fighting for anymore? But within the darkness grows a force stronger then what is known. A darkness of such brutal power and force, that the light of the earth is threatened beyond that of the wars of the rivalling kingdoms. It is in the Northern realms of the darkest mountains that the darkness is rising, threatening all that is human and alive to the Lands of Tairum. The kingdom of Pritharin and the Kingdom of Ganaron now have a choice, to continue their petty war over one another, and allow the dark one to slowly take over their lands that they fight so hard to gain. Or to join forces and take on the dark threat all as one. It was after many a dispute and many a long and tiresome talks and treaties of peace between the Kingdoms, that they unite forces. The two kings gather their best and most elite warriors to send forth and lead the army. With news of the humans fighting for the land of Tairum, the forgotten races come forth from their lands and hidden realms to fight not only the dark one, but for freedom and peace in the land. Our story starts in the small travelling and trading village of Fallshore. Located on the eastern province and known within the kingdoms as a black market, it is where traders come for the exotic and items untradeable within kingdom walls (anything slain out of the Kings orders). Our characters will meet here; their reason for being within Fallshore is up to you. They could be here trading items to gain enough coin to buy their way out of their king’s army. They could be a wandering ranger coming to get supplies. Or they could be one of the non-human races passing through on the way to offer their services to the war. I will leave this up to you. However, every character needs to start here, as our characters will be formed into a small unit that find themselves with the knowledge of how to destroy the threatening dark. But each character has to have a flaw, something that makes them seem untrustworthy to the Kings and their council, something that would give cause for others not to believe them. As this will be how our characters adventure comes to be, when they are told basically to get lost. So, the rules.
#1 Advanced. This is an advanced role so please keep in mind the advanced requirements. Detailed posts with plenty of content, how does your character feel at that moment? How do they react to a certain situation? Why do they feel that way? #2 Third person narratives only, I know this may seem like an odd rule but some people feel the need to post in first person and it irks me. #3 I do not expect anyone to post everyday so don’t worry. I have a young son and so there are times I won’t be able to get on here. I think so long as we all post around twice a week though it will keep things moving nicely, and we all keep in communication through the OOC. #4 No immature writers or characters please! Immaturity gets my back up and make for a very dislikeable character. By all means make your character naïve, but I do not want to read the words “Stubborn but sweet but feisty” in one personality description. #5 Violence is going to happen. Swearing is going to happen. Sexism is going to happen. This is set in a medieval fantasy world where men are the dominant ones. It is essentially, a man’s world. So if you’re going to play a female then be prepared for some prejudice towards your character. #6 Nothing anime to be involved.
Available races and ideas for characters
Human – Disgraced and discharged Soldier, Ranger, Tribesman, Villager, thief etc. Elves – Only race that can be half breed. They are superior (believe themselves to be) they are arrogant and they are prejudice. Very intelligent. Dwarves – Again they are arrogant and believe themselves better than anyone. They believe men are weak, are masters of bartering and trading and experts on all things fine. Tribesmen – Fierce and deadly clan with no love or tenderness and no emotional attachment to women. They are very strong and can crush a scull with bare hands. They are feral and brutal and are generally given a wide birth. No one from a tribe is less than 6 foot. Centaurs – The most intelligent race of all, and skilled at archery, they are the only race to coincide peacefully with Elves. They do not trust humans and laugh at their willingness to cling to Gods and stories. Height, weight scars, tattoos, missing limbs, extra fingers etc. Weapons Keep it realistic! No Japanese swords or daggers! Why would your everyday farmer have a whopping broadsword. Ensure it makes sense and is suitable to the setting and character, and do not get excessive or I will ask you to change it. Fighting capabilities and flaws Include flaws, no one is perfect.
