Eryel examined the area, sighing softly as he shook his head. ‘Human towns…’ He thought, feeling relatively disgusted by what had appeared before his eleven eyes. It had been a long journey at sea and a nice meal would be welcomed. Despite the unpleasing view, Eryel could not deny the sensation of a soft breeze brushing past his exposed skin. One could say that it was the small amount of comfort he’d be offered in this trash bin of human society. Further investigation brought the guards to mind. At the very least, these creatures enjoyed upholding law and order. Eryel rubbed his forehead and continued forth, leaving a judgemental attitude behind. He knew better than to insult a man in his own home, when he himself took on the role of stranger. Some rest would be appreciated, along with a cup of herbal tea. The latter would however be more difficult to acquire. Eryel looked back towards the group he had travelled with and started towards the inn, considering it the best place to think about his next move. ------------------------------------------- Daxius walked down the ramp off of the st. Christopher. "what a strange name for a vessel" he mumbled to himself. He shielded his eyes from the sun which he still hasn't grown accustomed to since he left Antium 6 months ago to find adventure. Daxius felt unnerved being on the ground with the other pedestrians. He took a quick sprint to a wall (Rolls with agility Stat ) (Gets a 7 -Success!) and planted his feet on it, almost running up it as he clutched the edge of the roof and pulled himself up. He scanned the metropolitan sprawl and smiled as he caught a glimpse of grey smoke coming from a chimney of a three story building, 'an inn' he thought to himself with a smile, (Rolls with agility Stat ) (Gets a 5 – Success!) he proceeded to sprint, jumping and leaping from roof to roof and (Rolls with agility Stat ) (Gets a 6-Success!) finally dismounted off a two floored building with a role, causing some gasps from the crowds. He walked towards the door of the inn, his hands clutching the coins in his pouch. ------------------------------------------------------- Sighing softly, Keros slowly walked down the ramp and on to the dock. He had a little to his name, essentially nothing, a poor man’s wage, a metal reinforced right hand, and a dingy set of clothes. His clothes covered his chest and back and the upper parts off his legs, with a sash hanging between them. Around his neck was the last remnants of his past, a small pendant, a keepsake, what would likely be the last he’d ever see of his old home and life. Walking into the street, he stopped, one hand on his hip, the other hand on his chin, gently rubbing the skin, thinking. He didn’t have a chance to think this through, this trip was a last minute decision, he hadn’t thought about once he had landed. Things were so new, a new land, a new world, a new life. He had a hint of fear within him, a fear that this new life would be no better than the old one. There was also a fear that the guards would try to hassle him. Orcs were not the most respected or respectable creatures that walked the land, he was sure no one here would appreciate him for what he was, something more. Dropping his hands, he looked around, taking a glance in either direction, just to take things in. He shrugged and just decided to go to the nearest place he could get a drink, something other than what he’d been drinking this whole time, something strong. The Red Dwarf Inn seemed like a good place to attempt to fulfil that demand. ---------------------- Stepping off the wooden vessel, the St. Christopher, Shaleer gripped his stomach, not at all acustomed to the sea's motions. Upon gaining his composure, a thick smell of sea salt stung his nose and compelled him to get away from the docks and towards any of the buildings before him. He began walking for the Red Dwarf Inn until the magnificent tower caught his eye. He stepped off his path to pause one of the guards leaving the tower. With a questionable smile and a distinct accent, Shaleer asked the guard, "I don't mean to impede, but what's so important about that tower that it warrants all you guards?" The guard paused and turned to the man "Its the guards tower, the guards are briefed, paid and its where we lock up criminals... Hopefully I wont see you in there" The guard joked "Anyway I must go to my post", and with that the man left towards the other end of town. Shaleer then walked and entered the Tavern ----------------------- As Margerae walked across the ramp onto the docks she looked around and put the spell book that she was reading away. She watched the town and waved at the guards in their tower. She figured that tomorrow she would look through the town assuming that the fog would clear, but for now she needed a room. She hurried to "The Red Dwarf Inn". ------------------- Elan: Next, we go to the tavern. Roy: Why? I need adventurers, not a drink. Well, not JUST a drink. Elan: That's where adventurers are hired, silly! Roy: Why? It's not like they're looking for jobs on the wait staff. Elan: I dunno, it's just tradition. — The Order of the Stick: On the Origins of PCs The Tavern As the adventurers walk into the tavern they are hit by a wave of warmth, light and noise. Despite the night barely beginning the place was already filling in. Most of the patrons where human but a dwarf or gnome could be seen here and there. A band bearing a manner of instruments played in one of the corners as the bar maid delicately swooped about delivering drinks and food to other patrons. The atmosphere of the place seemed alive with conversation but the music and banter where quiet enough to talk to someone if you where close. The bartender moved behind the bar. Serving drinks from a fancy tap made of some kind of bone as he chattered with the many familiars. --------------------- Margerae walked up to the bartender, he looked like he may be the owner of the establishment. “Do you have any rooms for rent?” Margerae asked the man politely “and do you know if anyone needs helps around town?” she continued. “aye I sell rooms to travellers like your self” The man seemed to have a northern accent, a rugged harsh undertone which made the man seem like he could talk down a bear and a muscular frame showing he could probably punch one too. “3 Gold pieces a night, that gives you the protection of no-one pinching your coins in your sleep. The rooms are small but have two beds and are better then sleeping on the street corner. Especially due to the recent rat problem at the old warehouse across the street.” The man cleaned a glass in his hand “If you want to earn some coin, the town has a message board in front of the town hall just left of the Phorus statue up the street.” He put the glass down “Now can I get you or any of your friends a drink?” The bartender smiled looking to the group. Behind the bartender a menu painted onto a block of wood stood. On the wood is written: Menu - Drinks- Water -1 gold Stout - 1 gold. Ale– 2 gold. Mead– 2 gold Liquid star whiskey (Tavern Special) - 3 gold. Food- Meat pie – 2 gold Bread – 1 gold Fresh apple – 1 gold Ham slices with gravy and vegetables. – 3 gold What will you do ?
