The warm atmosphere hit Daxius like a brick and his eyes hurt from the sudden change in brightness but soon they got use to it and he could see the inn clearly. It was a warm, cozy place, people were laughing and talking and playing dice games as the music played with the crackling fire in the background serving as an interesting ambient in contrast the creaking floor boards and splashing of waves from the ship. Daxius looked around for a seat and found it, a small set up of chairs in the corner by the fire that remained uninhabited, Daxius strolled to it and slid himself into one of the comfortable chairs and pulled out his book but before he could read a single word, something caught his eye. A chess board, it was sat neatly on the table in front of him covered in a fine layer of dust, the board brought back many memories for Daxius, many memories indeed. -------------------------------------- Margerae nodded and smiled at the man, she handed him three gold and sat down as she paid him another three for a drink hoping that it would be enough. "Thank you sir." She said, as she looked around again she shrugged and looked down at the gold on the table. "Well I'll be going to my room, use the extra three to pay for someone's drink. Or just keep it." “Thank you have a nice stay then” The bartender handed Margerae the key, She smiled and took it heading to her room. Once she got there she smiled and opened the door examining the room and deciding to set up a small alchemy table, she locked the door and set out some magical components. She walked out into the cold night, looking for the message board. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One could for sure say that the interior was a more pleasant sight than the outside. Eryel had already figured it rather futile to attempt, but nonetheless it was worth a shot. "Do you by chance sell herbal tea?" He approached the bartender and sat on a barstool. Besides him was a woman he had travelled with, and she seemed to be in a hurry to get things done. Of course, doing something and getting paid for it was always better time spent than wasting it away at a barstool, but he just arrived in that human city. After having been cursed with the hideous constructions outside, the relatively cosy interior of the Inn wasn't something Eryel was in a hurry to leave behind. "If tea is uncommon in these parts, a cup of water will do." Eryel finished, placing a coin on counter. Soon after the gold hit the wood, Eryel noticed a patron digging into a meat pie. Now that was something he would enjoy. Producing another two coins, Eryel placed them alongside his first payment. "And a pie, please." He spoke. The bartender looked up at the elf as he scooped the coins into a pouch. He walked to the back of the bar then soon returned with a large glass of liquid and a small meat pie. (Rolls with Perception Stat ) (Gets a 7! ) (Rolls with Knowledge Stat ) (Gets a 4 ) The glass is badly made, air bubbles can be seen within the glass and it feels slightly lumpy at the bottom. The water itself Is a murky brown, and as you look at the pump it came from, you realise it comes directly from some water source under the tavern. The pie looks quite nice but using your perceptive skills and knowledge of food, you notice the meat is unknown to you. It isn't any traditional meat anyway but the pastry seems nicely made. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shaleer jumped at the chance to moisten his lips and fished his satchel for two coins. He took a seat at the bar, laid the coins down, and motioned them toward the bartender. "Something sharp to keep me up, if you would." The bartender walked away and came back with a small glass of ale handing it to the man and taking his coin. And with that, Shaleer pulled out another three coins and played with them. "Three coins is certainly fair for protection against penny-pinchers." He looked as if he were about to pay the bartender for a room until he closed his hands around the coins. "However, there is a monstrous guard's tower nearby, and I am certain no thief would dare step within its gaze. Perhaps you could knock down the price for me and my companions?" (Rolls with Barter Stat ) (Gets a 6 – Mild Success)(He's a proud stubborn bastard) “Aye it might protect you from the thieves but the rats will eat ya before ya have chance to sit up.” The bartender remarked “I can give you a job though. If you do it you can stay the night and i'll even throw a meal in for ya” The man offered. --------------------------------------------------------------
