Really he went to there as a sort of "This is all I know how to do. I'm basically blacklisted from my own family and my best friend thinks I killed our master/my uncle. Killing is all I know how to do, so screw this, I have nothing else" Being Storm Shadow is all he has left. And as for Zartan, I left him for dead so that his fate can be Ambiguous
