History: Mercy is the eldest of 2 she had a younger brother, with a father who was a sought after heart surgeon and a mother who lived a life of luxury. Mercy has never been hard done for in her life, despite never really seeing her parents because they were always out at conventions or playing tennis, she was given money to compensate for their absence. She was basically raised by her nanny, Serena. Serena taught her the ways of the world, preventing her from becoming a typical rich brat. Besides she spent most of her childhood with her nose buried in books, except for the occasional archery or horse riding lesson, even combining the two when she was older. 

Mercy met Tamashii when she went to a mainstream high school, despite clashing to begin with the two became near enough inseparable. A typical yin and yang pairing, Mercy tried to keep Tamashii on the rails though it always ended up with the pair of them getting into trouble. After a while she couldn't keep it hidden from her parents, they carted her off to an expensive all girls boarding school to keep face with their social clicks. Mercy found her love of science among other 'interests' in boarding school, she was particularly drawn to medical science the idea of being able to help people and save lives sat well with her. 

She reunited with Tamashii when she graduated, this lead to her parents disowning her when she refused to severe her connection with Tamashii and stay with them. Luckily for her Tamashii was there to catch her, between the pair of them they held down a flat and worked towards getting Mercy into medical school, doing any job they could. Serena kept in close contact with her throughout everything and offered a guaranteed meal for them whenever they needed it. When the infection hit Mercy had just finished a shift waiting tables, she instantly went to Serena meeting up with Tamashii, they missed the first wave of evacuations but followed closely behind. Serena was an elderly woman by this point and although she tried to keep up, she ended up slowing the two women down. 

The trio joined with another group of survivors for a small while, but the group was overrun during the night. Despite her best efforts, Mercy was of little use during the attack she had never had to wield a weapon before, this cost Serena her life when she tried to protect her. Serena’s sacrifice sits heavily on Mercy, Tamashii has stuck by her and now the two travel alone, constantly searching for safety. 

What are their personal goals relating to the outbreak: To help as many people survive as possible, find somewhere safe. Secondary objective: Find a cure.

Anything else: Mercy has an underlying health problem, Long Q-T Syndrome although its a very mild case symptoms can vary. She also suffers from a mild case of Nyctophobia (Fear of the dark), and Thalassophobia (Fear of the Ocean) 

Unbeknownst to most, Mercy can sing (Quite well) and play the piano though it seems like a useless skill to have now.

Mercy has the Japanese Kanji for love (愛; Ai) tattooed on the inside of her left wrist.

Personality: Tamashii’s a very conflicted person and always has been, she struggles to let her guard down around anyone, especially when she doesn't know them. What causes the conflict in her, is her mistrust in others. She’s an incredibly suspicious person and prefers to hide her paranoia and true nature. She is very observant, above that she has a very strong sense of survival that in the past surpassed everything and anyone. She’s got a knack for scouting out loopholes in traps, difficult situations or even conversation. She tends to dote over what people say, though you wouldn't be able to tell by just looking at her. She hides her soft nature under a cold and insensitive exterior, she can be very sarcastic or snide when she’s talking to someone whether she knows them or not. She has an air of arrogance about her, and can come across as intimidating at times. As if that wasn’t bad enough she has a short fuse and the patience of an Ox, it’s her hostility and temper that tend to turn people off of her. She would rather cut her own tongue out then admit weakness and struggles to stand down if she’s challenged; her respect is only given to those she deems worthy. Underneath all of that hostility is a woman who craves comfort and security, once she knows someone enough more of her redeeming qualities tend to shine through. She’s got a wicked sense of humor, which tends to get her into trouble fairly often. She’s loyal to her family and friends, but her need to survive often clouds any of her heroic attempts.

History: Tamashii isn't entirely sure whether she is an only child or whether she has siblings, her parents were unstable and ended up separating leaving her to the mercy of social services. After many a year of passing from one family to the next, she gripped the idea that she was unwanted and begun to live by it causing trouble at every turn. It became a game to her; she would purposefully push people away or push them to their limits through tantrums or running away. She met her match in Serena who adopted her at the age of 13, and refused point blank to let her go regardless of what she did. To begin with it made Tamashii push further, getting into trouble with the law. She got herself a criminal record for stealing and vandalism, only small offences. 

Due somewhat to Serena’s steadfastness and Mercy whom she had met at high school, Tamashii found a place she belonged. Though she still acted out, it was normal teenage rebellion which usually ended up with Mercy taking the fall with her. She barely spent any time in school, hanging around bars that she could get into or abusing Mercy’s credit card at a shopping centre. Tamashii decided to change her name when she first came to Serena, though she legally changed it when she turned 18. She dropped out of school and went straight into work doing what she could to get by, more than happy to support Mercy when she needed her. 

Tamashii had the dream of becoming a police officer, despite her shady past she has been taking night classes and working on trying to get into the force to train up. She was taught to shoot by an old friend of Serena’s who would take her to a shooting range on a regular basis for lessons, he was a retired police officer himself who referred to himself as Captain, it became a hobby of hers and Captain would tell her stories of when he was in the force. She had literally just been invited to be trained by the LAPD when the outbreak hit. Her good news drowned by the increasing alarm around them, she stopped in at the Captain’s on her way to Serena’s to check up on him. She left the house alone with a small handgun and a rifle, meeting up with Mercy and Serena they fled. 

When they met up with a group of survivors she let her guard down, thinking they would be safe. It almost cost her, her life when they were attacked that night. When the attack hit she was away from Mercy and Serena, despite her valiant effort to get back to them Serena perished that night protecting Mercy. Tamashii took Mercy away refusing to help the others; survival was at the front of her mind and they were a lost cause in her mind. She has taught Mercy how to protect herself and they now wander alone in the woods, searching for safety.

She was dressed in a turquoise ball gown, the very image of elegant. Her oceanic blue eyes scanned the crowd casually. “Ah here it comes...are you getting this?” She murmured, her glistening pink lips barely moving as she spoke. ~A little to the left...~ She lifted her right arm slightly, so the silver bracelet around her wrist shimmered in the light, unseen to the human eye one of the beads moved slightly. ~Perfect~ She took another sip of champagne, scanning the people close to her before her attention was drawn to the stage as a man in his late sixties took the stage, she listened closely to what he was saying. Merely smiling as the crowd applauded and cheered, being careful not to move her right wrist. 

Her eyes narrowed slightly as Mr Faireview stepped onto the stage. “Is that our guy?” She murmured smiling politely back at a gentleman who smiled at her. ~Affirmative~ She listened to Mr Faireview’s speech with a questioning look on her face, standing straight as he left the stage. She put her right hand to her right ear. “I’m going in” ~Affirmative, you’re on your own from here out...be careful~ “I’m always careful” She smirked dropping her hand before finishing her champagne and beginning to weave her way through the crowd. When she got to the bar she perched on a bar stool, crossing her legs and leaning on the bar, she ordered another flute of champagne, her nose twitched a little as the scent of vampire persisted to cling to the air. She glanced sideways watching Mr Faireview approach.

Rain caught Mr faireview looking at her; she smiled fleetingly at him before turning back to her champagne flute, her nose twitching again. Her eyes flashed amber for a moment as the vampire scent grew stronger; she took a deep breath steadying herself just as he came to stand beside her, her eyes returned to their human color. She turned to face him with a smile, offering him her hand in greeting. “I would be honored if you would join me” She hinted to him still smiling; she waved her hand towards the empty stool in front of her. “Please sit” She said, bringing her hand back up to her face and pushing her hair behind her ear revealing her wrist to him as she did. “I’m Rain Nightwing, I work for the Telegraph” She introduced herself. “Although I’m technically off duty” She smiled charmingly, coyly taking another sip from her champagne glass[/hider]
