Interested. [s]Expect a lightly-armored warrior with a sword and shield. Possible names will be Torik, Joric, or Valius. But then, a Shield-Maiden type of character might would be nice... Gyda, I think would be a good name.[/s] This is a place holder until you have an actual CS: Name: 'Ser' Sloan Brannick Personal: 36 year old human male Occupation: Sellsword Appearance: Weapons Knightslayer - Knightslayer is Sloan's personal longsword. It received its name 'Knightslayer' after Sloan became infamous for personal killing dozens of knights at his lord's command. Round Shield - Sloan has a wooden/steel round shield he keeps slung over his back until he needs it. Longbow (and Quiver) - Sloan carries a longbow around his shoulder and a quiver on his back which he uses when necessary. Daggers - When Sloan needs to play dirty, he reaches behind him; a dagger is strapped on his back so he is able to quickly draw it and plunge it into whoever needs to be dealt with. As a last result, he also keeps a knife strapped to the inside of his boot. Other: Fight Style: Sloan has been described as an artistic, if somewhat dirty fighter. He mainly fights with his sword and he will offer no mercy. He moves like a snake with his lithe and agile figure. He relies on dodging his opponents attack and quickly exploiting their drawback. In other words he can be hard to hit. Facing ranged opponents, or equally agile opponents, Sloan will employ his shield to provide a better defense. He's adept with the bow and can use it fairly well. If all else fails, he relies on his daggers he keeps hidden away. Sloan becomes one with the battlefield, casually looking for his next victim before moving in quietly and taking them out. Personality/Morals: Sloan is a sellsword; take from that as you will. He doesn't care who lives or dies, just as long as he gets paid. He believes personal gain is all that matters in the world. He doesn't believe in any honor, tradition, and he doesn't have any sort of 'code'. He's loyal to whoever is paying the highest. He understands fighting as a team is the best way to accomplish goals, but he won't hesitate to stab his allies in the back if it would benefit him. History: Sloan was born to a whore mother who was more busy with her 'career' than raising him. As a result, Sloan grew up on the streets and was forced to resort to thievery to get what he wanted. It was this lifestyle that molded him into who he is today. He never had any true friends, rather just a bunch of other crooks who may or may not have helped him in his 'raids'. Over time he began to just not care for anyone, and would often stab his friends in the back if it meant he would gain more for himself. As he began to grow older he decided to try banditry, but his vagabond days were quickly ended after a scuffle with the bandits in which he nearly lost his life. He instead took on the work of a sellsword, waiting at inns and taverns for some wanderer to hire him. It wasn't long before his skills and sly cunning caught the attention of Kalan the Mad. Kalan was the youngest son of King Bastas, and so he would not have inherited his father's title. Kalan had two older brothers, and all three brothers were Knights in the kingdom. Kalan hired Sloan to murder the two older brothers, and finally to poison his father. In effect, Kalan became the 'rightful' heir to the throne. As gratitude, Kalan knighted Sloan and had an exquisite steel sword forged specifically for Sloan. At the recommendation of King Kalan the Mad, Sloan named the blade 'Knightslayer' to mock the death of Kalan's brothers. Ironically enough, however, Sloan would use this blade to continue slaying more knights. Anytime any of the noblemen would present Kalan with a proposition, Kalan would send out Sloan with a force of other soldiers to kill the lord and all of his knights. Ser Sloan Brannick became infamous for his cruel actions and his dishonorable murders.
