But can he handle... Speedrun.
Player Name: Hillan (Lord and Savior) Character: Harry Haste - Speedrun Power and Abilities: Harry is gifted with a simple ability. He's able to perform feats faster than he's done before. For instance, slapping. Everytime he slaps something, he can slap it faster than he did last time. The boost in speed he recieves is highly irregular, so for instance, he might have a 100% speed-increase, or he might have a 0.0000001% increase in his speed, the only consistent thing is that his action, when he uses his powers, makes the action perform faster. His powers are currently manifesting in more or less just super-speed. He'd able to move faster than a speeding bullet. His run / movespeed is Mach 2, but his ability to slap, as that's what he's practiced the most, is of Mach 3. Over the course of the past year, Harry's abilities have grown several side-effects. Originally, Harry got tired very quickly, wounded too, by simply moving fast. But over the course of him using his powers, his body have rapidly built up a resistance to the speed of his movement, that automatically protects him from more or less killing himself when he moves at super-human speeds. He's able to navigate his speed, not always using his top-speed, but if he doesn't use his top-speed, he won't get faster. It also comes with the side-effect that it's affecting his mind. Harry's able to read hundreds of times faster than he ever could before. Mathematical calculations are a joke to him these days, the speed making him a circumstantial genius. Background and Story So Far: Harry's parents, William and Marianne Haste both died when Harry was 2 years old. They died in a car-accident. Harry was raised by his uncle and with his cousin, Andy. His life was regular, he did regular things, he participated in sports in school, and enjoyed video games on the weekend. All in all living a average life, and he liked it. His life didn't turn upside down until a week after he graduated from High School, when his Girlfriend of 3 years broke up with him, via text. It was a weird thunderstorm coming in over town. Harry went on a jog to rid his head of the thoughts and feelings he felt, as lightning cracked. His stopwatch on him. But his legs clearing miles didn't stop his head from racing. He still thought about all the time he had spent with her, his feelings for her, and how it seemed like she didn't care at all. It made him angry. Really angry. He threw his stopwatch into the air, it was still however, attached to his fingers with the chain, as a indigo bolt of lightning struck Harry Haste, the bolt traveling through the watch and into Harry's body. Harry was knocked out, waking up in the morning, feeling nothing different about himself. Till he was about to be bitten by a mosquito. A Tingle was felt in his eyes, as his hand moved to his arm, squishing the mosquito. Later that same day, his cousin, Andy, found out, and the two tested it out, doing several slap-tests. Andy, who was, and is still to this day, a gigantic nerd made a costume out of old biker-gear and came up with an alias for Harry. Harry'd be known as Speedrun, as his powers allowed him to perform things faster than he had before. His first patrol, however, was a gigantic failure. His powers didn't kick in at all. So he thought it was a one-time thing. Until Andy pointed out that he hadn't been wearing the stopwatch, the one that got hit by lightning when he went out on patrol. Harry figured it was worth a shot, and wore the stopwatch the next day. His powers kicked in, his eyes glared indigo, and he moved quicker than before. Of course, his first battle was against a sewer-rat, and a gang of hipsters. But it was a victory, none the less. Months passed, and the world around him spun on. But Harry did get faster and faster with everyday. And as he became a more powerful hero, he began attracting enemies. Enemies that he didn't quite want to attract. But his powers were useful in his personal life, too. He started scoring straight A's in school, as he could simply just read and learn quicker than he ever could before, he took extra credits to get his grades up from the average grades he had had in high-school. He's donning a more durable suit these days, not the old biker crap, and he's faster than ever, punishing evil-doers with super-speed calculations and mach-speed slaps. Sample Post : It was raining, wasn't it always in this town known as San Fiero? Harry was walking down the street, having a bad day with the whole raining thing. He had also lost his phone, which pissed him off a bit, especially since he was texting that cute girl, Linda, was he name. The 19 year old let out a slight sigh. “But hey, least there's no thunderstorms.” Harry said, and as if the gods above mocked him, lightning cracked and the downpour increased. “Me and my big mouth..” Harry said, dragging his hand in his face. He walked for a couple more minutes, being annoyed by the fact that he couldn't listen to music, since his phone was gone. He really wanted to enjoy some Imagine Dragons now. But he shrugged. “Screw it. I'm not walking another step.” Harry said, digging into his back-pocket, getting out the stopwatch. He held it in his hand, and instantly vanished in a blur too quick for any equipment known to man to catch. Just a minute later, he arrived at the door that lead into his uncles house. “Come on now. I only ask you one favor, Universe. Let Andy be wearing pants and not watching that tentacle shit when I walk in.” He let out a quiet prayer, as he opened the door. Much to his delight, he was met by the cursing of his overweight cousin, cursing at someone over the internet. “AND YOUR MOTHER. AND YOUR MOTHER. ANNNDDD YOOUURRR MOTHER!” Andy shouted, throwing the headset onto the mat. “Freaking children, man. How was the class Harry?” Andy asked his cousin. Whom responded with a grunt. “That slow, huh? What was it now. Bioengineering?” “No, retard. It was creative engineering.” “So what, Iron Man armors?” “Something like that, sure.” Harry let out, heading upstairs. He needed to shower, he was tired from spending six hours in class reading through four books eleven times each. He had to get out on patrol in a couple of hours. At least that's gonna be fun.. Harry thought to himself with a slight sigh.
