Locas Jule Locas was the first to awake. Of course, he couldn't have known this, as there was a curtain separating him from the rest of the infirmary. However, that didn't make it less true that he had, indeed, woken up before Cynn. He was on the side of the room that had the exit, and Locas assumed that this denoted a marked increase in moving space. This assumption was partially confirmed when a glimpse of movement revealed the presence of an elf woman a several feet across the room. She was tall and muscular, with three scars on her cheek and hair that flowed quite a ways down her back. For someone such as Jule, who'd just awoken from a blackout that he was sure would have ended in death, she was more than a welcome sight. For some unknown reason, he felt the need to express this observation to the girl herself. "Did I die," asked the human student. The girl looked at him and Locas smiled. "I must have, because I'm looking at the closest thing to an angel that I've ever seen." He knew what would happen next. He saw the anger show in her face, and saw the consequential attempt to hide just how much anger was actually there. The girl stood up and began walking toward him, and Locas propped himself up in the infirmary bed. As he turned back to her, he was greeted with a fist rapidly approaching his face, which he immediately deflected with the aid of his Blood. This action was accompanied by a sharp pain, which reminded him of his injuries. Still, he refused to wince, as doing so would simply result in this girl looking at him as a waste of time and knocking him right back out. The punch landed in the pillow next to Locas's head, and the elf was pulled off her feet by the force of her own fist. She fell onto Locas, who caught her gently. As they locked eyes, he couldn't help but noticed that the eyes looked incredibly familiar. He had a sudden image of a girl in armor, sparring with him on a hill, followed by an image of the same girl, dead in a tent. "You have beautiful eyes," he said, softly. The elf blushed for a moment before slapping him, inadvertently snapping him back to reality. He smiled kindly and prepared himself for whatever would come next as the elf stood up. Cynn Ellime The infirmary was almost empty by the time Cynn awoke. She opened her eyes slowly, finding it strenuous to do so. In front of her sat a tall, elegant looking girl with dark hair and worried eyes. It took her a moment to realize that this was her roommate, Annabeth. A smile spread across Cynn's face. "Hey," she whispered, not out of grogginess but out of a physical inability to speak any louder. "What happened?" The human girl explained that she'd been cut in the throat, and the memories came rushing back to her. She reached up and touched her neck instinctively, finding a cloth bandage and a small amount of pain. She winced, but quickly regained her smile, noticing that the expression on Annabeth's face changed to match that which was on hers. This girl who barely knew her went so far out of her way to make sure she was alright? It was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for the wood elf, and she couldn't stop smiling. Of course, it was also a good thing that the girl was very physically attractive. Feeling that she should say something more, Cynn reached out and placed a hand on Annabeth's. The human blushed slightly, and Cynn let out a small chuckle. "You're..." she began, thinking hard about what she should say. "You're like...my knight. Thanks...for saving me and all...a-and for staying to make sure I was alright." She gave the human the warmest smile she had. "It means a lot to me." She squeezed Annabeth's hand before moving her own hand back to her side.
