Finally finished my character. As soon as those who have reserved spots have posted their characters, I'll get started on the first IC post. Name:
Original Western Forms Latin and Cyrillic are written in legal form; beginning with surname, then given name and ending with the patronymic name Latin Letters: Verniy Violetta Valerievna Cyrillic: Верный Виолетта Валерьевна Japanese Forms As per tradition, the Japanese forms are written with the surname before the given name. Patronymic name is not used here Hepburn Romanization: Bānīi Baioretta Katakana: バーニーイ バイオレッタ Kanji: 響 培和礼多 (Surname uses the kanji for "echo" or "sound in Japanese; "Hibiki". Given name uses the kanji for "cultivate/foster", "peace", "gratitude" and "abundance", respectively) Addendum on the kanji form: The kanji form of Violetta's surname has a somewhat peculiar story behind it, which began in the early 1980's when her father, Chief Warrant Officer Valery Verniy was deployed to Hokkaido. Being a sailor at heart and living in Japan for a good period of time, he quickly took an interest in imperial era maritime warfare. Of particular interest to him was the Hibiki destroyer, the second of the Akatsuki-class destroyers, which, after the war, was given to the Russians as a prize of war. Its name was changed to "Verniy" and rebased at Vladivostok, where Valery himself had been born. Upon the birth of his daughter in 1998 and the family's moving back to Japan in 2009, Valery chose the kanji for "Hibiki" as the family name, due to the lack of literal translation for Verniy and in reference to the destroyer. I own nothing.
Personality: Violetta is a quiet, thoughtful girl, who puts much consideration into what she says and does. Some of this comes from her slight difficulty with the Japanese language and it probably does in fact come from that, as when she first came to Japan she had absolutely no knowledge of the language, leaving her to keep to herself and really only converse with her parents and the rare Russian-speaker. Thankfully though, by the time she had moved to New Harumi City, she had reached fluency in Japanese but the period still marks her personality. It is hard for those around her to discern what she is thinking or her current emotions as she makes a decent effort of keeping herself unreadable and her usually flat and accentuated tone helps in this regard. Violetta is an excellent student, utterly destroying her fellow students in all but one subject; English in which she has incredible difficulty for whatever reason. While she easily comprehends the language, speaking and writing in it creates great difficulties for her as she forgets articles and comes up with phrases that have little if any order... Origins: Russian (has Japanese citizenship) History/Bio: Our story begins in 1991, when Chief Warrant Officer Valery Verniy of the Russian Navy returned to his home of Vladivostok after a long deployment in Japan. When his fleet was forced out of the harbor by zealous Japanese nationalists in 1990, he and the others of the fleet were returned to Vladivostok after a brief deployment to keep order in the waters surrounding Japan following the founding of the Independent Japanese Federation. At this time, Valery, who had served in the Navy for the last ten years, decided to retire and he fell in love with a concert pianist named Rozaliya. The two married in 1995 to a fair amount of celebration and it was three years later in 1998 that they had their first and their last daughter; a girl with silvery hair and argentine eyes who they decided to name Violetta. The family lived happily in the port city for eleven years, until tragedy befell the family when Violetta’s mother was murdered following a concert. Violetta, herself a piano prodigy at eleven years old, easily playing the works of Chopin, Herz and Beethoven, became somewhat adverse to continuing to play piano, but would later pick up playing again when she was fifteen. In the same year, her father, searching to escape Vladivostok and leave the memory of his beloved’s murder behind, decided to move back to Japan. The pair then spent the next few years hopping through jobs and habitations before settling in New Harumi City in 2014. Violetta, now fifteen, would now go to Shirasagi High... Combat Style: Thanks to numerous visits to shooting ranges with her father before moving to Japan, Violetta has competent experience with using a pistol and will use one when available. If not, she has decent ability with longswords, rapiers and other bladed weapons. No matter the weapon, she prefers to stay at close range and use finesse and elegant attacks to lethally take down enemies and to rely on dodging instead of blocking attacks. Extra Information: -Violetta’s hobbies include piano, writing poetry and taking walks. She also studies quite often, but she doesn’t consider that a hobby. -Being Russian, she fluently speaks the language and she also speaks Japanese with no problems, though she is rather quiet by nature. In both languages, she speaks with a polite, respectful tone and uses rather formal vocabulary.
