There were a couple of details I was uncertain on, firstly, I wasn't sure whether to classify her as "Other" or "Supernatural". Secondly, I put her down as a CIty Level hero, which I'm not entirely certain on. Since she never uses her power I would usually say she's only street level, but potentially she could use her ability to do a lot more damage than just a street level hero. Lastly, I feel like the whole "number on her" thing is kind of over-done, but I thought it would be kind of appropriate given the cost of her ability. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Character you have created: Violet Church. Alias: Moxie. Speech Color: Steel Blue. Character Alignment: Hero (could be swayed). Identity: Secret, but she doesn’t care if it’s known. Character Personality: Violet is very matter-of-fact in the way she speaks and acts, though internally she can be an extremely vibrant person. She makes up for her shyness with a bold front, she thinks that by not asking questions or permission to do things she comes off as a confident woman who knows what she’s doing, when the reality of it is that most people interpret her as being rude and haughty. Surprisingly feminine and open-hearted, but her jaded demeanor prevents her from seeming as girly as she would like to be. Violet is the type of person to only have one good friend that she shares everything with. It takes a while to get past her cold and stone-faced exterior and to realize that, though she has trouble expressing herself openly, she has good intentions and strong morals. Violet is extremely stubborn. Her downfall is her willingness to please her friends and her oblivious nature, because of those two aspects she trusts her friends 100% and can be easily used by those close to her. Uniform/costume: Violet doesn’t have a particular uniform and she doesn’t plan on it. If she’s going to be a hero she doesn’t want to waste her time hiding her identity and coming up with a costume to wear, she’ll just go as is. Origin Info/Details: Violet had always been a bit different than other people, especially her own family. From a young age, Violet had known that she was adopted. She was five when she came to that conclusion, five when she had realized that she wasn’t the same as everyone else, five when she first used her powers. It was both amazing and terrible how such a small incident could change her life. Most of her memories from that young were a blur, but she could remember the day better than she could remember anything; it happened when she got lost, exploring the town by herself when her parents were at work. Usually, Violet wasn’t allowed to stay at all from the three block path to and from school, but as a child she had been extremely curious and couldn’t resist wandering on her way back home. Unfortunately, she went too far and couldn’t find her way back, even as it got dark and even though she knew her mother must have been back from work by then. Mortified and scared, she imagined herself being at home. With a terrible pain that lasted only a few seconds, she opened her eyes to find herself in her bedroom. Her mother hadn't even noticed she'd been gone. After that, Violet found a number (89) on her ankle that wouldn’t go away no matter how much she washed it. After the second time she used her ability she realized that the numbers went down. At first she thought that it was a limit on her number of wishes, but as she got older she questioned if that was the only consequence. At the time, Violet became a quiet child. Her mother and father, Marie Church and Adam Church, were a pair of busy and conservative Christians who loved to tell her about all the things she couldn’t do, rarely home due to their cluttered work lives. She had no siblings and was often on her own outside of school. But, that couldn’t last forever, either. Violet began trying to compensate for the fact that she wasn’t related to her parents by trying to gather as many friends as she could. On her eleventh birthday she invited the whole class and, when they were away from prying eyes, she used her powers again in an attempt to impress everyone by taking them all to the beach to play. While this was the instant that she discovered she could transport multiple people through physical contact without needing to use multiple wishes, it was also the day that her classmates stopped talking to her. Luckily, any teachers or parents thought that it was a prank or a game that all of the kids were playing but after that Violet became extremely reclusive. Two more wishes down and completely on her own, Violet avoided using her abilities for a long time. The pain she experienced each time was enough to make any kid avoid using it, but on top of that she experienced another pain, the pain of knowing that she was different and weird and a freak. One top of this, knowing that she wasn’t her parents child from a such a young age was damaging for Violet. She always waited and hoped for the day that her parents would tell her that she was adopted, so that she could talk to them about it and find out where she came from, but they never told her. Even now, Violet acts as if she has no idea that she’s not related to them. Between her eleventh birthday party and the current, Violet used her ability as rarely as possible. She has asked two questions, (one: are there others with powers like me? Two: What do the numbers on my ankle represent?) and has used her powers in an emergency. The emergency involved her best friend, Freddie Stratt, who she met in middle school. The two have been inseparable ever since becoming friends and amazingly Freddie only seemed to get closer to her after finding out about her powers. Today, Violet is attending college in Lost Haven, having wanted to go to a school far from home. Freddie came with her, though he is attending Lost Haven University instead of Bristol College, where she is going. Hero Type: Other/Supernatural. Violet is a normal human asides from her abilities, which she discovered at five years old. She does not know if she was born with them or not, but assumes that is the case. Power Level: B. City Level Powers: The ability of desire. What ever she wants done or whatever she wants to know she can have, for a fair price and as long as it could potentially happen in the real world. The price is a certain amount of her lifespan, the minimum amount being one year and the maximum being her entire remaining lifespan. She can wish for things that are possibilities in the natural laws of the world. While she could wish to start a fire, wish to travel to another location, or to breathe underwater (all of which are possibilities, even if some of them are not human possibilities) she could not wish to gain more superpowers, travel to other dimensions or get rid of gravity (all of which are not possibilities withing the world, even if they could be possibilities somewhere else in the universe). I.e. “I want to know if there are other people with abilities like mine nearby ?” Minus 1 year. “I want this person to die.” Minus entire remaining lifespan (a life for a life). She does not have to say her desire out loud, but she has to imagine it being a reality as accurately as she can. If her desire is not granted or her question not answered, she will still lose a year of her life (though she won’t lose more than that per desire). When asking questions, the answer is given to her physically. If asking the answer to a question on a test, the answer would be filled in for her, if asking the location of something, it would mark it on a map and so on and so forth. After the first time she used her powers, a small number appeared on her ankle (left), which indicates the number of years she has left. It started at 90. Attributes: Strength Level: Normal Human, can vary due to powers but only to her potential. Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Normal Human, can vary due to powers but only to her potential. Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Normal Human, can vary due to powers but only to her potential. Agility: Normal Human, can vary due to powers but only to her potential. Intelligence: Average, can vary due to powers but only to her potential. Fighting Skill: Trained (self-trained) Resources: Average, can vary due to powers to the maximum potential (extreme). Weaknesses: Longevity is a big issue for her. She’s continually aware of how much time she has left and as a result is extremely reluctant to use to abilities. She has decided not to use them at all unless she absolutely can’t help it. Her reluctance prevents her from reaching her full potential. She fights as if she is a normal human in almost all circumstances. Supporting Characters: Marie Church, mother. Adam Church, father. Fredrick "Freddie" Stratt, best friend. Madeline Cooper, roommate. Do you know how to post pictures on RPG boards?: Yep. Sample Post: Violet was nineteen years old going on ninety. Though it was an exaggeration it wasn’t necessarily untrue, either, though it was a truth that only she was aware of. Time was something Violet couldn’t waste. She had come to terms with the fact that she couldn’t get the years she’d spent back and after living an awkward and relatively isolated childhood, she had decided to do more with the time she had left. Maybe she was being unrealistic, but if she was she didn’t care. Even if her only inspirations were made-up stories and comic books the abilities she had were very real and she knew for a fact that there were others with abilities like herself, even if their powers were much different, and Violet was determined to find them. “At least I look young,” She thought as she stared into the large mirror in front of her, examining her features for any signs of aging. She couldn’t find any, but it had become habitual to check her face and body every morning, just in case. She still bet that one day she would wake up and find herself littered with wrinkles and she’d just wither away before even finishing her first year of college, but she was being unrealistic again. The only thing looking back at her in the mirror was a petite young woman with round, blue eyes and a short blonde bob. She even had a button nose, a sign of the youth she was so worried she’d run out of. Despite her girlish features, which she tried to exaggerate by wearing trendy clothes and feminine dresses, Violet was nothing more than a blunt, serious person who had a hard time getting along with people. She had one friend, Freddie Stratt, who followed her from her home town to the city of Lost Haven. However, her interactions with others were much less successful. To most people, Violet was just an awkward, rude college student who lacked social graces. Freddie and herself are the only two who know that Violet’s much more than a college student, Violet was going to be a hero. Some preparations were necessary before her debut in Maine, though, some of which required her to use her abilities. One or two years would have to be sacrificed if she wanted to spend the rest of her life being a hero, so she might as well get them off of her chest. First and foremost, she needed to find a partner, and Freddie wasn’t an option. There was no way she would even consider dragging him into this, no matter what the circumstances! Violet was hesitant though. She feared relying on her abilities too much and wanted to get as much done on her own before she relied on her powers. For now, she thought it was best if she acted like she didn’t have them at all. Living life as a normal person except for emergencies, she had come to that conclusion at a young age because of the stress and the temptation of having such opportunities available. But how was she supposed to find someone with powers like hers when she didn’t even know where to start?
