Roleplay Title: Hold My Flower Setting: 30/10/1129 Characters Involved: Valyn Mancini Valor's death brought her to the brink of despair. She denied the news when she first heard, shouting "No! You're lying! My baby is brave and strong, he can't be dead!" but Valor never came home, and all she was brought was a bloody sword. She wanted nothing to do with a sword that failed to protect her Valor and never looked at it, leaving Valiant to deal with the worthless scrap metal. She didn't want a sword, she wanted Valor! Her baby boy. And after being forced to face reality, when it clicked that he really would never return, she lashed out with anger towards the easiest person to blame: Stannis. He was the one who recruited Valor and it was his fault he was dead; she had yelled those words to him over and over again, and she hated the knight, and it has been years since she has even looked the Grand Cross in the eyes. She began praying to Oz in church, and while the priest had been of some help, a kind young man with soothing words as pure as his white hair, he reminded her too much of Valor. Both her and Valiant mourned; they were both devastated, but they still had other children to take care of, especially with her darling Valerio being only seven years old, so she forced herself to leave her bed in the mornings. There was a holo feeling inside her chest and no matter how much love filled inside it, the feeling never left, and to this day she still feels remnants of the emptiness. The healing process had been slow, but for Valyn it truly began when she was given a surprise blessing from Oz. "Valiant, I'm pregnant." she had told her husband and while unexpected, for they had not planned on having anymore children after Valerio, Valyn felt excited. She missed having a baby, and while he - she was not going to kid herself and actually expect another daughter - would never be a replacement for Valor, her new son was the reprieve from the despair she had felt for so long. She redecorated the old nursery, painting the walls with fluffy looking clouds and a smiling sun that magically transitioned to a beautiful night sky with shining stars and moons whenever the sun set outside. She bought new toys and located old toys, surrounding the room with anything her baby could want in the future. Vallix, who wanted to open up his own fashion store, had made and given her cute babyclothes that she placed in the dresser that had been used by her previous children. Devoting time to her new baby was fun, and she felt happy, and Valyn already loved him. And after several long months, and a few tiring hours in labor, Valiant gently handed her the newest Mancini. Valyn smiled and cradled the newborn in her arms, and her bright blue eyes stared at her baby with as much joy and love as she felt first holding Valentine all those years ago. She gave him a sweet kiss on the forehead. “Happy birthday, Valcyon,” she greeted quietly, as to not wake the sleeping baby, “Mama loves you. Always and always.”
