When a voice spoke to her from behind her she quickly spun around, axe held at the ready once again but she let it fall to her side rather quickly. Her head hadn’t been caved in yet and he was lowering his own weapon so it was safe to say that these people were probably ‘friendly’, though she wasn’t sure what that meant anymore. She turned back once again to look at the girl and smiled softly when she introduced herself. Just as she was about to do the same, there was a sudden burst of static, which caused her to look around in a panic but it seemed as though Joan was on it, and ran to the back to find out what it was. Chloe turned back to the man, “I’m alone.” She said, responding to his question. There was a moment of silence as she wondered how much she should share with this man, though for now, it was enough to get him to trust her. “I locked myself up in a motel nearby. Since it seemed like it was quiet I came out to get some food.” She pulled out a granola bar from her pocket and tried to wave it casually, though truthfully she wanted to devour it right now. She looked him up and down. He was well built, probably could have easily taken her out with that bat if he wanted to. “Thank you for not caving my head in.” She said, motioning towards the baseball bat in his hand. She kept her speech very controlled and calm. “Shouldn’t you be going after her? There may be other people here that neither of us know of… or I could be lying.” She wasn’t lying of course and it was too cheeky in her opinion, but the sooner he stopped watching her, the sooner she could finish up and go back to the motel.
