He figured it was nice and straight to the point. Best of all was that his workers knew where to put these ads and even disguise the hidden message so simple humans and even hunters wouldn’t notice it. All kinds of supernatural flocked to this fortress of solitude, and he protected them as he promised as long as they followed his rules. Those who didn’t...well they didn’t really like staying here anymore. A voice at the intercom quickly spoke, “Sir, the new shipment just arrived. The count is as expected and there may even be some extras later today.” The Manager tapped the intercom and replied with, “Good, the new surplus of guests will be quite happy. If there’s any issues contact me immediately.” Tapping the intercom again the Manager walked over to his desk and reclined in his chair, putting his feet up and whistling an upbeat song. It was good to be back. ------------ Rand awoke in his cage before the others did, shaking his head and remembering he was in a cage. He didn’t know how he forgot, this happened to him every morning for the past three years except during a couple of the hunts. Ever since the hotel came back in power, Rand had been a prisoner here once again, barely surviving each new guest that requested him. Looking around, Rand noticed that there were bodies in all the cages now. Another shipment, forgot it’s been a month now, he sadly thought. But this will end the same won’t it? Most of them will be dead or insane by the end of the month and I’ll still be here. Well me and the few others. Rand watched one of the bodies next to him rise up, flinching as he realized that he was in a cage. The boy breathed quickly, his head darting around and finally fixing on Rand. The former hunter was used to this, he had witnessed this at every new shipment. “Where am I?” The boy inquired, shaking. “If I were to tell you you wouldn’t believe me,” Rand said, leaning against his cage and staring at the ceiling. “Will...will I get back to my family?” The boy asked nervously. The question made Rand laugh, but he cut himself short before it got strange. You've been at this for three years now Rand, don't go mad now, the former hunter thought. "What's your name?" Rand asked in a darker tone. "M-matrim," the boy replied unsteadily. "I'm sorry Matrim, but this is the place you're going to die."
