The level of technology is as advanced as Earth's current tech from before the Mythics attacked. Human tech is more advanced now that they hid underground for a few years. Of course, people old enough to remember that went under still remember the old world.

What you said about weightlifting equipment, some of those may still have survived in the ruins of the cities, but are in bad shape. Casting, smithing, forging, and the like, while still around prior to the attack, wasn't used as much. Now Humans use this more so, especially in creating Titans.
