Chick gave her surroundings a once-over, quickly coming to a conclusion; So we're getting a new batch of humans... Brushing a stray lock of hair away, Chick rested her head on the bars of the cage, letting her legs uncurl and relax. The collective murmurs that surrounded her irritated her and she made a swatting motion with her hand, as if to swat away flies. It was useless, really. Quite utterly useless. These new victims would either start spouting off some nonsense about escaping. Or maybe they would just try to disappear, curling and hiding in the corners of their cages. It made no difference. Chick had seen it all. Had witnessed all their fear, courage, and stupidity. Time and time again. It's getting tiring, really. Long ago she would have sided with them, tried to encourage them, maybe warn them of what was to come, but it was futile. No matter how hard they struggled, it would all end the same way. It's not like she was always on the sidelines. Chick has experienced those same set of emotions repeatedly. One could even say she was a regular at the Hotel, even during its darkest moments. Despite the brief eternity that she had experienced, nothing about her seemed to age. Even after all of the carnage and blood she's witnessed, her innocent, round eyes seemed to stay with her. She had exhausted the majority of her emotions long ago. Chick let herself drift off; she closed her eyes but still made sure that she was still able to react to any sudden loud noises. She knew exactly what the next step was; there was no point in worrying over it.
