Chloe froze when he suggested that she join them, though his offer came off as more of a threat. Even after he left to go check on his companion she stood there, mostly pondering over what to do. He had given her the chance to leave right now, go back to her motel, and hide out until…. Well she wasn’t sure what the end goal was. If she left now, she wouldn’t have to worry about running into people for another few days, until she had to come out for more food, but maybe if she stuck with them, she had a better chance of survival overall. If she left now, she may never see these strangers again and may never have a chance to be with people again before she died, and if she left with them now, she could leave anytime she wanted right? The choice seemed obvious. Although she didn’t like to admit it, she had missed being around people, well civilized people. The act of talking and being around people felt foreign to her now but she hadn’t realized that she had craved it, especially since that night. She quickly shook her head, trying to clear that memory from her mind. More than anything she wanted to forget that. Axe held down at her side she made her way to the back and leaned against the doorframe on the other side of where Joan and ‘Josef’, if she had heard correctly, were talking to something. It was a bit hard to hear but there were some parts that she could make out from what the man on the radio said. She glanced over at the entrance to the store before staring back ahead. She thought about her words for a moment, hoping that they didn’t sound stupid when they came out. “So…are we gonna go get him?”
