Lydia opened her mouth and was about to make a retort when the words died on her lips at the sound of the thunder in the distance. She froze, eyes wide. She slowly got up and walked over to where she had heard his voice. She curled up next to him, fingers barely brushing against his pants to reassure herself that he was there. She was fine for a few minutes but soon a loud crack of thunder rang out and the girl jumped, letting out a yelp as she dove against Jason's chest and buried her face against it, body trembling and cat ears flat against her head.
