Tamashii Tamashii touched Mercy’s arm, smiling reassuringly at her. “We’ll be back soon. Stay safe” Tamashii murmured to Mercy. Turning back to face the vest guy as he handed the little girl a knife, she waited patiently for him to turn back to her and announce he was ready. “Right, let’s get this over with then” Tamashii murmured, looking down the street she jogged over to a house on the opposite side of the road sliding in close to a building on the other side. “Stay close, keep an eye out. We can sneak past a few but can’t risk boxing ourselves in” Tamashii murmured, moving along the wall playing with the blade in her hand. “I’m Ash, by the way” She added as she crouched at the edge of the house, peeking around the corner her eyes scanned the street sucking in a breath as after a few moments of watching she depicted there was movement...everywhere. The slow movers were stumbling out of their holes slowly, appearing from between houses and under porchs. She even saw a few inside the houses bashing against the inside of the windows. She looked down the alley to her right, lifting her hand her index and middle fingers extended together, she twitched the tips of her fingers forward signalling for the man in the vest to follow her as she rounded the corner, running low and fast as she redirected down the alley stepping lightly over a few broken lengths of fence on her way. She pushed herself close to the wall, inhaling sharply as a groaning mass of rotted flesh swung around the corner flailing its arms at her, she thrust her blade into the things eye socket pulling it back as the body crumpled to the ground. She wiped the blade clean on her jeans stepping over the body she rounded the corner quickly, stopping as she saw 3 more slow movers moving towards a yellow house with a white trim. She backtracked around the house, probably stepping back into the vest guy if he had followed her. “I count 3 down here...what do you want to do?” She asked the guy in a hushed whisper having turned so her back was to the house and she was side on to him and the slow movers. She held her knife defensively in front of her, looking at the vest guy impatiently. “The shots must have been fired nearby, they’re moving into the street out front” Mercy Mercy nodded at Tamashii. “You too” She smiled reassuringly at Tamashii, before looking back to watch the guy in the bulletproof vest hand the young girl a large blade. She then watched the pair move off towards the houses on the other side of the road, she glanced over her shoulder at the red head, she crouched down watching until Tamashii and vest guy were out of her sights. “Can you keep an eye out behind us? I’ll watch the street...I can take them down at a distance” Mercy asked the red head. Her blue eyes scanning the street in front of them, so far no movement... “You never told me your name by the way” Mercy stated to the red head. “Fancy sharing it now?” She asked, relaxing her grip on her bow string for a moment allowing it to become slack. She looked down at her arm, noting the state of the bandage wrapped around her left bicep the bandage was barely visible because of the thick layer of dirt that had darkened its colour it pretty much matched her filthy skin, she needed to change it soon... Time passed and there was no sign of Tamashii or the man in the vest, Mercy was growing restless she was pacing in front of the alley down the side of the house, more and more of those things were swarming towards this area she looked up at the tree line for the umpteenth time. However this time she froze in horror at the sight before her, it looked like the trees were moving...but trees didn’t move...she bit back a whimper as she watched the wretched forms of slow moving figures breach the tree line, stumbling towards the town. “We have to move” Mercy whispered to the girl urgently, looking to the large blockade in the road, she imagined thousands more of those things were hiding behind it trying to clamber over it. “We stick this side, move fast and quietly...keep an eye out for the others and stay close to one another,‘ kay?” She murmured her voice shook slightly as adrenaline flooded into her system, she clutched her bow tightly looking one last time in the direction Tamashii had gone Please be ok before she turned and ran down the alleyway between the two houses, she cautiously rounded the corner pulling her bow string back she carefully positioned her arm releasing an arrow with expert precision so the string wouldn’t catch her arm. The arrow whirled through the air piercing the skull of an unsuspecting risen. Mercy reached over her shoulder pulling out a second arrow her eyes focusing on a building across the gardens, it had a thick red line around its roof and colorful letters on the side, she couldn’t read it from here. It looked different from the other houses; she would have guessed it a store of some kind. “We need to get over there...Ash will head there when she realizes she can’t come back this way. Please come with me!” Mercy called back to the red head, she tried to keep her voice as low as possible but to no avail. She knocked another arrow firing it at another slow moving risen, before she jogged forward approaching both crumpled corpses ignoring their foul smell she gripped one of her arrows pulling it back sharply, it sprung free from the dead flesh with a sickening squelch and a small burst of dirty blood and sinew. Mercy grimaced and wiped the arrow on the creatures torn clothes, repeating the process with the other arrow looking back over her shoulder briefly to see whether the young girl was following her, she hoped she would...she didn’t want to leave her but she knew staying wasn’t an option. We have to get to that building... If the young girl did decide to follow her she pointed in the direction of the colorful building indicating where she was on about before beckoning her over once the coast was clear. From what Mercy could see the fencing between them and the store wasn’t looking so good a lot of it had either fallen down or had large panels missing, they could probably get through it really quickly...maybe without hassle from those things...
