Nah, we haven't spoken about it. I haven't started my post yet (I tend to start/finish it in one sitting) so if Aewin has something cooking then she's free to post it first. I may write a post tonight, but I've been dealing with an insomnia spell plus work keeps calling me in to cover for other people, so I might just want to take my day off to relax.

No problem, and cheers for letting me know. Honestly, I'm the same as you in the sense that I usually do my posts in a single sitting.

There's no obligation for people to post really quickly either, given how I set it out in the rules more or less. Figured it was worth poking you two and finding out though, since things got a bit quieter in the OOC (not much PM responsiveness either) and I wanted to kick some life back into the place.

Been excessively overworked lately too, since I didn't sleep for well over (I think) forty hours yesterday, and there's a chance I won't get to sleep again tonight either.

Edit: Ugh, I didn't end up saying this (bad stomach pains at the moment have my thought process all over the place, though this happened yesterday too), but sorry to hear the insomnia is getting to you again, and it's shit that other people aren't doing their jobs.

Status update:

• Invitation Letters now has an entry in 'The Glossary'. Would've put it in there sooner, but I've had a very stressful couple of weeks. Sort of amazed I've managed this thread as well as I have all things considered.

• The current plan's going to be to have the twelve character slots filled in 'The Cast' before this moves forward, and once that's achieved I'll likely post up a notice on the site using the status bar in order to let people know that they've got roughly a week left until this role-play closes application acceptance. Once that week passes, the official role-play will move underway and participating within the IC will stop being non-obligatory. This will likely result in a time skip (I won't do it abruptly and interupt any current character interactions -- I'll time this well), basically leading to all those who plan to take the escort posting themselves going to the appointed location.

• Due to the immense workload on my end recently, recovering data due to my PC chucking a fit on me a few days back (I'm still not done recovering, and won't be for a long time, but should at least be able to get things manageable if I can get a few solid days/nights this week in where I can work without being sick as hell or tired as fuck), I've been unable to even start investing time into preparing our map, so there's no immediate rush to head to the escort.
  
  Nevertheless, I've been contemplating our portrait icons in more detail now. While people don't have a streamlined look for portraits in each 'Public CS' (which happened as a result of me giving you freedom in that regard -- technically not everyone followed the rule about making sure the portraits had completely accurate eye/hair/et cetera colour either, but I've ignored that), the icons themselves will need to be consistent in terms of how they look. With this in mind, I'm open to thoughts people have regarding how they could look. Standard procedure on this site seems to be to make them circles (though admittedly this is usually done for IC post header pictures, it seems), but I've also been considering something that looks like a more authentic portrait in order to fit the 'feel' of this role-play. If anyone has thoughts about any of the comments I'm making here, I'd appreciate you bringing them up in the OOC for me.

Okay, so I guess now would be a good time to present these really rough drafts for map icons.

Rough Draft *Art Not Final*

I drew influence from Olivia and Lucia's CS portraits and came up with these. Now, this is all assuming that we stuck with circles for the map icons. That may or may not happen thanks to Charlotte's close-up image. I picked image border colors from pre-existing borders, name colors or character dialogue fonts. When I didn't have any of those for an image, I tried to pick a color from the photo that worked well with the character. I can change any of these colors if anyone wants me to. If you can shoot me a message with the hex color you'd like, I'd be happy to change it for ya :)

Admittedly @Pudding, I've got a version saved of Karlita with a pastel rainbow border just because it really matched the other colors in your character photo xD.

There's the potential that the icon may become portrait shaped, but I dunno if we'd still be using the borders or not.

While they're certain incomplete (we need to fix the zoom so they're consistent with each portrait), I think @Ailyn's done a good job of providing an example to get the ball rolling for discussion about this. Like she just said -- anyone who has a preferred colour for a border should tell us now, just in case we decide to use the circle idea. We'll be assuming that you want the primary colour your write your dialogue with - or your character's name - unless you stated otherwise, and we'll pretty much just fill in the blanks for those who've got neither. There's also a possibility the circles won't have coloured borders at all.

I figured I'd give an example of my own. Keep in mind that nothing about the way these looks are set in stone, because I only made them within the last ten minutes just to provide a quick example. I mostly just put together something that looked cool, without thinking about finalizing it. Keep in mind that I won't go along with the one that neutralized colour unless we somehow end up getting an overwhelming positive reception to it, since I think it'd be better if we maintain the colour of our characters in the portraits -- I simply thought I'd show it off because I did it randomly and thought it looked fancy.

I've had several other ideas, but no time to create them currently.
