I've been a roleplayer on various internet forums since the early 2000's, with a large gap between about 2009 and about 2015 as forum based RPGs in general started to lose ground to MMO's with three of my favourites, TRE (The Roman Empire), Roman Legion and IntPol (International Politics) all falling to the wayside.
I'm a big fan of these kinds of RPG's which would probably be called nation or table-top here (with mechanisms underlying the RPG aspect, a competitive aspect, etc)
Besides roleplaying, I'm a big fan of strategy gaming (another sadly marginalized genre but somewhat kept going by the likes of Paradox, AGEOD and Matrix Games) and history.
