Nelson cruised along the road in his rusty old car. His T-Shirt had specks of blood on it from where he'd just beat a walker half to death with the blood covered crowbar that sat in the passenger seat. Nelson never actually had killed a walker. He could never muster up enough strength to deliver the final, crushing blow. It wasn't that he was afraid. He would have loved to get some kind of revenge on the things that had killed his family. It was just that Nelson ran out of steam before he could raise and drop the crowbar to end the walker's life.

He continued on down the road before realising he'd misplaced his gun. Nelson leaned down, opened the glovebox and fumbled through it for a few moments before retrieving his firearm. He looked up to see a walker had stumbled into the road. Nelson swerved in an attempt to miss him but failed. Miserably. The full force of the car slammed into the walker as Nelson jerked the steering wheel violently, trying to shake it off. It was there, on the front, clawing at the window. That's when Nelson saw the tree they were on a collision course with. He slammed on the brakes, but it wasn't enough. The car crashed straight into the tree, crushing the walker's lower half beneath the car, immobilising it. It still clawed at Nelson though.

The airbags didn't go off, although Nelson's seatbelt managed to absorb most of the crash. It hadn't acted soon enough though, and Nelson smashed his head into the steering wheel, breaking his nose with a loud crack. His head was then slammed back into the seat's headrest, dazing Nelson. The scene around him was a total wreck. The windscreen had cracked, all the windows had smashed, Nelson could see out the corner of his eye that the front left tire and snapped inwards and would never work again. Blood covered the entire from of the car, most of it from the walker. Nelson made eye contact with the infected being before finally losing all consciousness, leaving him defenceless.

Rob looked at Lauren with...increased, annoyance. "Your daddy would want you to be strong." Rob clenched his fists. He knew that she was using this to protect her. But frankly rob was tired of this bullcrap tip toeing. And Katie probably couldn't get angrier.

"Your....Dad...would want you to be ignorant. Ignorant to everything he did, everything that happens around you. Your dad...if he's still alive. Is probably out there deceiving some other group to do some other shit that is probably bad. He is someone you do not want to please. You have to understand Katie. That nothing is fair! You wanna know who killed bull? It was Robert, and you know what he did as well. He killed a lot of good people. A lot of people that were my friends. But guess what, he's dead as well. So there you go, he killed someone who....I'm sure was close to you. and now he's dead. As is loads of other people. But it's not anyone's fault. Except him, and he's gone!" Rob looked at both of them with annoyance.

"Lauren....You can't say anything...talking about who to stand with"

Reggie - New Orleans/Crashed Vehicle - Alex/Aoife/Nelson

It was an exhausting morning for Reggie and his scouts. After having spent most of the night clearing Outpost's perimeter, the group were running on little more than naps as they made their way through the city. While they had a couple of traveled routes for their usual missions, they had to ensure the main one through The Pub was clear for their upcoming assault. Reggie was prepared to take out a group each morning; It was all too easy for biters to settle in one place.

Having entered the city with little fanfare, the scouts were getting slightly restless. Jerry in particular was leading the group in energy and was choosing to spend it all on complaining. "This is absolutely useless," he said, his voice having far surpassed the point of being grating. Reggie had already told the man to shut it, but it wasn't long before the man started up again. "Not a single biter. If any of them stand in our way next week, we'll just plow through them! Reggie, you know we can-"

"I know that plans can go awry. I know what was supposed to be a routine scout ended in the death of one of our own. Do not tell me what is useless, Jerry." Reggie increased his speed, putting a gap between himself and his group. He was not that angry-- more exasperated. He didn't think they were ready for what was to come, no matter how hard Enrique pushed them. Especially, well... Reggie appreciated the support of women like Aoife and Amanda, but he felt he might have to remove them from the scouts sooner or later.

A faint noise interrupted Reggie's thoughts and he stopped in his tracks. He looked around himself, his eyes scanning the street ahead and the surrounding buildings for a source of the noise. It was unusual to hear much beyond the moaning of the undead these days, even in the city. As his group caught up with him, Reggie heard a second noise, this one short and loud. "... That was a pretty big bang," Luke said, voicing Reggie's thoughts.

Reggie nodded and gestured down a side road. "We're checking it out. Stick close with me."

***

They found the crashed vehicle surrounded by biters. They were hungry ones, growling as they cut themselves on the broken glass to reach whoever was inside. "Jesus Christ," Jerry said, his gun trained on the biters. "No way they survived that."

Reggie thought Jerry was right. From what he could see, the car was totaled and drenched in blood. Yet, they couldn't ignore this. "Shit. We're going to have to clear these out." He turned to his group- Jerry, Luke, Aoife, and Alex- and let out a deep breath. "Spread out, but not too much. We are not letting them come near us. We mow them down." Reggie turned back toward the biters and took a few step backwards. "In position," he said, raising his rifle. "Now--"

Reggie fired the first shot. Silently, Luke and Jerry followed suit. As the biters started to fall, they began to move from away from the car and approach the shooters.

Aoife-Crash Vehicle site- Reggie,Alex,Nelson,Luke,Jerry,Amanda

Aoife sighed as Jerry complained, she felt like punching the man in the face. as she listened to Reggie, then afterwards looked for anything. Just as the others did, Aoife also heard the bang. Luke saying what she was thinking, it didn't take long till they were heading towards the car. At first Aoife thought whoever was in the car was definitely dead. But they had to clear it out anyway, So as they got in position and started to fire. It was easy, since most of the time if you were coordinated enough any amount of walkers could be killed. It didn't take long til most of them were gone. All Aoife wanted to know is if there was anyone in the car.

Alex Clark - New Orleans/Crashed Vehicle - Reggie/Aoife/Nelson

It had been a long night eversince he shared dinner with Sylar, and his stomach wearily grumbled that he needed to eat as they manouvred their way through the deserted streets. He was armed with his usual pitchfork again, but also sported a rifle this time, given to him as a part of his training as a scout. Sadly, he had only received the utmost basic lessons of firing the thing, and hitting anything smaller than the broadside of a barn was still beyond his capabilities. He stopped himself from kicking away a pebble, which could alert crawlers to their position, or worse, other survivors, but looked up when Reggie spoke. Being new and all he didn't understand most of the things going on yet, but he fully understood what Reggie was doing. It seemed abit strangely paranoid though, to drag the scouts so far just because of a single man down. Ofcourse that was bad, but the world was a cruel place now, and casualties happened, however much they'd hate themselves for it. Somehow he felt glad he hadn't been in the Outpost yet when this fatality occured so he couldn't blame it on himself somehow, but already felt guilty for being glad. A man had died.

A loud noise followed by what resembled a car crash the most ripped him from his macabre thoughts. It sounded strange to hear a car crash in the deserted city, but soon Reggie was leading them towards a car that had wrapped its engine around a crawler and a tree. It was obviously a total loss, that car wasn't going anywhere anymore, but the main problem was the small horde of crawlers trying to open the dented can for what must've been at least a single person inside. Reggie ordered them to open fire, and soon three shots filled the air, taking down as many crawlers, but attracting their attention. Alex aimed his own rifle at the approaching zombies, and fired. The bullet whizzed past the zombie into the car frame, luckily into the engine where it would be relatively harmless. As the crawlers approached he sloppily tried chambering a second round, in a sense of rising panick accidentally ejecting a perfect good round before finally chambering the next, and fired, only to miss again and being thrown off balance by the recoil of the gun. The crawlers were really close now, and in the same sense of panic that got a hold of him he dropped the rifle and slammed his sraightened pitchfork in a crawler's face, sending him down for good.

Once the first one was down a strange sense of calmness slowly drove away the panic as he retracted the tool turned weapon from the dead crawler's face to swing it at the knee of a second one, whose leg gave away with a sickeningly moist crunch. He rammed the pitchfork into its head and quickly retracted it tostumble more than dodge backwards as a crawler made a valiant leap towards him, resulting in it falling on its knees. Backing off towards the rest of the scouts he tried dragging the rifle back with his pitchfork, but failed to do so when a crawler stepped on it. Muttering curses in his breath he stabbed another one in the face, and noticed that the other three scouts had dealt with the remaining crawlers. Picking up the rifle again he inspected the car, while mentally preparing himself for a lecture from Reggie about how he messed up, and dealing with his own panic attack. However, important matters first. Within no time he had spotted a single man hanging onconscious in his seatlbelt with was seemed like a profusely bleeding head injury, and he immediately started trying to pry the deformed door open. Head injuries usually were pretty bad, he knew from experience.

Reggie - New Orleans/Crashed Vehicle - Alex/Aoife/Nelson

Reggie had believed that this biter group would provide little trouble for his scouts, but his confidence plummeted as he watched Alex make mistake after mistake. Alex had positioned himself slightly ahead of the others and was now finding biters breathing down his neck. Reggie moved to cover Alex, but the biters had stepped into their formation, rendering the group too busy to assist Alex. The battle then became a haze of gore and gunfire. Reggie stole glances over the fighting to keep an eye on Alex and Aoife, but almost got himself bit in the process. Reggie swore and was forced to concentrate entirely what was in front of him. No biter got so close at that point. Reggie had been fighting these monsters for what felt like nonstop for the past half a year. For a man who once preferred to use his words rather than his fists, Reggie sometimes felt like he was an entirely different person nowadays.

When the last of the biters were killed, Reggie looked around rapidly to assess the status of his team. Surprisingly, Aoife was completely unscathed. Unsurprisingly, so was Luke. Jerry looked spooked and covered in gore, but otherwise all right as well. As for Alex...

"Alex," Reggie said, looking toward the car. He saw Alex grabbing at the door in order to get to the man inside. Reggie shook his head and pointed to Jerry. "Help us get that door open. Luke, Aoife, you two watch the streets. The gunfire will draw them." Reggie and Jerry stepped next to Alex and helped pull at the door, though Reggie was feeling like this was a waste of time. The crash had unfortunately forced the door shut and Reggie was unsure they'd be able to get it open anytime soon. Besides, the man inside was probably dead and all they were doing was waiting for him to turn. "This isn't working. We have to go before he becomes a biter--"

Jerry grunted loudly and finally the door came free. Immediately, Jerry reached inside and checked the man for a pulse. "He's alive," he said, turning to look at Reggie and waiting for instruction.

Letting out a deep sigh, Reggie pushed his rifle over his shoulder. "Unbuckle him and grab him. We'll take him to the cabin."

Jerry reached inside and did as he was told. "The cabin's too far, Reggie," he said. "Even The Pub. I think we have to take him back to Outpost."

Reggie shook his head, but he knew Jerry had a point. If they were ambushed while carrying this man, it could mean the worst for all of them. It would be best to cut down on their travel time. "Alex, help Jerry carry him." Reggie then turned around and gestured down the street. "Okay, everyone, we're heading back to Outpost. I know we're tired, but we need to be quick, so move it!"

Alex Clark - New Orleans/Crashed Vehicle - Reggie/Aoife/Nelson

Tugging at the door together with Jerry and Reggie it finally came loose after he tried using his pitchfork as a lever, getting himself knocked down as the door gave away. Reggie had already started saying that the guy inside the car was a lost cause, but Alex would at least try to take a look at him. As Jerry checked the pulse of the man Alex inspected the injured head of the young man, realizing it was 'just a broken nose. Once the man was out of the car he helped support him together with Jerry, slinging his rifle over his shoulder while carrying the bloodied pitchfork. He was spilled with crawler guts, but that had become something he started to get used to when out there. The smell would haunt him for days however even after he'd wash himself, in the privacy of his own skull.

He knew from Reggie's disappointed look however that he had screwed up, and in fact, he had screwed up. Then again, giving him a gun was a bad idea. One week ago it had been the first time he had ever touched a gun, and now he was out on scouting missions carrying a bolt-action rifle. He knew from his geekness how it worked allright, he even knew how to fire a musket. That didn't mean however that he'd be good at it, or good at aiming at all.

As they picked up the pace going back to the safe Outpost Alex felt the need to apologize to Reggie for making a mess of it, and he wanted to say that he shouldn't be using a gun, but didn't really find a moment to ask. They were in a hurry and Reggie never seemed to be open to conversation much, not to mention the fact that they were still outside in the dangerous area, carrying a bleeding unconscious man. He had been accepted in the Outpost when he had arrived here a few weeks earlier, and it had to a certain degree meant an end to living in hell. He had withnessed enough for ten lifetimes, and finally he stumbled across a place that almost seemed normal. The only problem was that he simply kept screwing everything he did up, just like he did before he arrived here. It was one of the things he found hard to live with, especially considering the fact that he could be jeopardizing this entire community with his mistakes.

Johnathan MacTavish-New Orleans-City Streets

"Emilly! RUN!" I screamed as loud as I could to draw the attention of the walkers around. One of them ignored me and started after her as she started running but I wasn't going to let it get far. Dashing past the rest of the walkers I made my way to it in a flash bringing my right foot into the bend behind it's right knee and kicking off I lifted myself high enough to bring my fist down over top of it's skull causing it's neck to bend to the side at an unnaturally sharp angle as it's body collapsed to the ground. I turned to just catch Emilly dip out of my sight before bringing my attention to the walkers quickly barreling down on me. My brass knuckles easilly crushed bones and skulls but it was hard to get the right angle to kill them with one blow. Still I was always one for a challenge.

I glanced down at my feet for just a second as I felt a pressure on my left shin and spotted a walker, it's bottom half missing, knawing away at the protective shin pads I wore. I quickly lurched my foot away and stepped back looking around to make sure I had enough space before bringing my foot up over my head and bringing it crashing down on the walkers head in an axe kick powerful enough to crush it's skull. Slowly the shambling corpses drew in on me and I managed to kill a few of them before I had to make a run for it in the opposite direction of Emilly. "God Dammit!" I screamed as I ran away through the dead streets of the city. I had to Find Emilly. There was no Way She could make it on her own without me.

Emilly MacTavish-NewOrleans-Abandoned Building

We were just marching. Endlessly marching for hours through the streets of the city when My asthma attack hit. Of course my dad over reacted again and pulled me over near an old burnt out car for cover while I caught my breath. I had to make sure I only used my inhaler when necessary otherwise I'd run out to fast. I didn't even notice when my dad stepped away. All I heard was "Emilly! RUN!" . . . So I ran. I grabbed my bag and ran as fast as I could. I didn't pay attention to where I was going, or where dad was. I just assumed he was behind me. I ran and ran till I couldn't run anymore. Feeling a burning tightness grip my chest I threw my self into the nearest building and hid. My breath fell short of me and I could here my heart pounding in my ears erasing any ability to hear clearly. Reaching deep into my pocket I gasped for breath as My fingers stumbled for my inhaler.

I ripped the inhaler out of my pocket with to much force and through teary eye's I barely managed to catch sight of my inhaler flying in front of me skidding across the dirty tile floor. I had no clue where I was, or what was around me. My only focus was the inhaler. I tried to crawl for it as my breathing grew raspier and my limbs no longer wanted to react to my commands. Collapsing against the tile Floor I made one last effort to reach for it before curling into a tight ball and wincing as my vision grew blurry and My mind hazed over with pain and fear. I wasn't going to die like this was I? After everything I had survived I wasn't going to die of an asthma attack was I?

Enrique-Outpost-Myriah, Samantha

Enrique sat outside the room where Samantha and Myria had been sitting and laughing for a good hour or so. Enrique sat in wait for either to leave, he had kept himself well covered in clothes he himseld did not own, he saw Myriah leaving the room. She looked back then walked off somewhere, Enrique grimaced and got to work. He jogged across the way holding a shiv he had made so that he could not be linked to the murder weapon, it was merely a shard of glass held by a bunch of duct tape, nothing fancy. He went in through the front with his bandana across his mouth and nose, he saw Samantha sitting reading a book he gripped his shiv tightly as she looked up.

"WAI," her cry for help was ended by Enriques gloved hand covering her mouth, he held his hand there as he positioned himself behind her, he grunted as he dug the knife into one side of her throat slowly tearing through to the other side.

"I'm sorry," Enrique said as he held her body there, "I'm sorry... just think you get to leave this world, you will be at peace."

She stopped squirming and clawing at his arms, he threw her body aside the shiv still in her throat. He stood and made his way to the door, as his fingers touched the handle the door came open and on the otherside stood Myriah. He reacted before thinking and slammed his fist into her forehead, she fell to the floor unconcscious and Enrique stepped over her and ran off. He made his way to a firepit and burned the bandana and hood he had on, he carefully checked his pants for blood and then his shoes. He tossed the gloves in the fire and made his way to the tent he had been given. He sat on his bunk, running his hands through his hair, he remembered name he used to have in thd army.

El perro de infierno

The hell hound, the unwavering stealer of souls, he knew he was back to his old ways, he didnt want to be this anymore. Not again, he let out an angry huff, then felt tears forming in his eyes, he slapped himself trying to snap of it. He reached under his bunk and grabbed the glass bottle from the kitchen, he brought it up and unscrewed the top, he brought it to his lips and let the fire swim down his throat.

Hank - Camp - Others

As the group enjoyed the food Aiden had prepared for them, Hank couldn't keep his eyes away from the medic's tent. Like the other's, he was surely enjoying the meal - even if it wasn't much. Regardless the quantity, the quality is what mattered. Aiden - before the fall - was a professional cook or something, so his meals were always on point. Having regular everyday working citizens in the group made them a little more unique. Everyone had something to contribute to the whole.

Jennifer - DeSean's wife - was a certified pharmacist. She was the one in charge of all the medicine they obtained through their searches. DeSean was one of the two leaders of the group - Hank himself being the other. DeSean worked with with airplanes, constructing their engines and had a very massive mechanical/engineering background. Seth Nguyen, or Baby Seth as both Hank and DeSean call him, was not employed before the fall, but had a distinct knowledge with computers. Though it may seem a worthless talent now, it actually helped them get their truck's radio running. Aaliyah and Heather were both medics. They were always in charge of curing the injured, regardless the severity of the wound. They were one of their most respected members - with some exceptions. There was also Imogen, who was a manager at a convenience store before the fall. Though it seems she doesn't play a big part in the room, the girl is a soldier. She is one of those rare people that listen very good and do everything they are asked of. In addition to being organized, she is one of the most reliable members in the group.

And finally, Hank. Before the fall, Hank had been going through some hard patches. After breaking up with his ex-girlfriend - Heather - he had sold his home and rented an apartment. This apartment had become his new home, unfortunately. Hank got a paycheck every fifteen days from coaching a couple of teenagers. He was a high-school baseball coach and made his living accordingly. During the summer, he would coach little league, teaching the young-lings to play ball. It wasn't great money, but he managed. He also had a second job working construction. The extra money is the reason he had been able to afford the house. After selling it, he put all the money into a savings account, unable to contribute to his 401k. But all that money was pointless since the apocalypse happened a couple months later.

But as he sat on the log and stared at the medic's tent, he couldn't help but think of his past relationship. But Hank never shared these thoughts with anyone, not even DeSean, his brother. After finishing his food, Hank stood up and smiled at Aiden. "Thanks for the meal. Really good, like always" he said before taking stride towards the medic's tent. Before entering, he took a deep breath and exhaled rather loudly. He took a step forward and found himself within Heather's visual radius. He made eye contact for a second, but then gazed at the sleeping survivor. He walked towards the supplies and pulled out long cable ties. "Here" he said, handing two long cable ties over to Heather. "Tie his hands together" he added, he himself tying up the guy's feet together. "I don't want him loose until we talk to him first. He'll be overwhelmed by his.........his state of being I guess."

He then turned to her and scratched the back of his head. "I can watch him from here, you should go get sumthin' to eat. Aiden cooked this time around, not Jennifer" he said, trying to make a joke and less awkward. It was kind of hard to speak to her, not knowing how she would react. It seemed like she was always against him, regardless his decision or what he said. So he just waited for the worst.

Bex - Outpost - Matt

With Enrique off to carry out whatever task Tyler had given him, Bex decided it was best to ask just what hell was going on. Tyler only stared him down. "I'm sorry to say this, but some sacrifices must be made for things to get done. You understand that, don't you, Bex?" Gone was the smiling and jovial Thomas. This man looked and sounded both like the Tyler Bex had known... and it frightened him.

"No one deserves that," Bex said. He spoke slowly, trying to speak carefully amidst his pounding head.

"It's for my daughter. It's for the betterment of Outpost." Bex had no doubt in his mind that Tyler truly believed that. What frightening lengths people could go to in this crazy world. Bex had no choice but to stand down, as arguing further would only make things worse for his pounding head. Tyler looked toward Matt, saying, "As for that horde, well, the scouts will still be here when all is said and done. They'll see reason and move on without Reggie, I'm sure."

Bex doubted that, but only let out a small sigh in response. He rested his elbows on one of the desks and rolled his shoulders. What he wouldn't have done for some Tylenol. "Bex, are you listening?" Tyler asked, leaning down slightly to stare Bex in the eyes. It was almost as if the man was trying to scare him.

Before Bex could formulate a response, Rudy entered the room. He looked quizzically between the three men. "The hell is going on here?" he asked.

Tyler smiled, putting on what Bex was considering his Thomas face. "I've just let my friends in on what we've been doing. They work with Reggie now, so it's only fair that they be informed."

Rudy stared, slowly pulling a book out of his backpack. "By that logic, we should tell all the scouts."

"Ah--" For a moment, Tyler looked taken aback. "No, that might cause a few problems."

"... Right." Rudy stepped forward and placed the book on the desk in front of Matt. "Here you go," he said. "Haven't looked at it much. Dunno if it contains the info we want."

Tyler grabbed the book and opened it on the desk. "Well, let's start with the day of the mutiny, shall we?"
Reggie - New Orleans/Outpost

Every day brought new complications. It started with the mutiny, an event that Reggie was still surprised he came out of alive. He still remembered that man-- Jonah-- creeping up on Myriah, ready to slash his knife across her throat. The poor woman had been alone in her cabin, reading some novel she picked up. If Reggie hadn't stopped by to talk with her, she would have--

"Hm." Reggie looked up to scan the rooftops. The living tended to stay above the ground and who knew where that art museum gang was lurking. For all Reggie knew, they were already aware of the scouts' movements. That thought alone made what they had to do all the more important. This would require men that Reggie that could rely on, not people that would let him down. People like Jonah, people like Ben, who both had to die for Reggie to learn his lesson. Reggie could not allow another death to occur, not before Outpost was safe.

"Alex," Reggie said, moving close to the man and speaking in a low voice. "I'll need to speak with you when we get back." With that, Reggie moved forward, leading the group back into the forest.

***

As the group of scouts had no supplies to bring back, none of Outpost's citizens were waiting on their return. However, people were drawn to them once it was known they had showed up with the body of a bleeding unconscious man. It seemed like everyone was asking what had happened and Reggie had to assure every single one of them that no one from Outpost was hurt. It was exhausting, largely because Reggie didn't usually have to deal with so many people. He kept his distance and kept things respectful. It was largely Myriah's job to do the socializing.

Of course, she was nowhere to be found today.

Needing a break from the questioning, Reggie headed toward the nursing station inside the administrative building. It had been a nursing station before the outbreak as well, but it had probably only dealt with the scraped knees of children back then. Inside the station now was Isaac, once only a medical student but now Outpost's full time doctor. As he was also on the council, Isaac had a lot of of recognition around Outpost despite being so young.

"Good timing," Isaac said, giving Reggie a nod. "Turns out the guy just had a broken nose. Still hasn't woken up, but I've got his head elevated for now." Isaac crossed his arms. "Honestly, at least two guys on the wall managed to break their noses in the last month, so I think I'm getting good at it. You wanna see him?" Reggie shook his head and declined. "Alrighty then. I need to head out for a moment to speak with someone, so I'll be right back."

Once Isaac was gone, Reggie turned to Jerry and Alex, who he had instructed to wait for him in the station. "Jerry, you can go, I suppose. Not much use keeping you here if Isaac's done with him." Jerry nodded and quickly left, leaving Reggie alone with Alex. "... All right, there's something I need you to hear. Don't speak up until I'm finished." Reggie moved one of the chairs so that he could sit across from Alex. "What happened out there... That shouldn't have happened. It shouldn't happen and yet it keeps happening, Alex, and I know you are well aware of this. I've never liked turning away those that wish to be a part of the scouts, but we're approaching a critical moment for not just the scouts, but for all of Outpost. Every mistake you make is a chance for you to die and every time that happens the whole group is affected."

Reggie sighed, looking down. "I don't want another death on my hands. I think it's best if you stayed within Outpost's walls from now on. There's always guard duty, and the guys on the wall will--"

The door burst open. Isaac stood in the doorway, his eyes wide and his mouth agape. It took him a moment to form proper words. "We-We have... Something has happened. There's an emergency council meeting."

Reggie stared, his brow furrowing. "What? What's happened?"

Isaac's eyes shifted toward Alex. "It's bad. We need to go."

Reggie turned back to Alex. "... Well, that's how it stands. If you want to speak more about it, see me later." He then got up and moved to follow Isaac.

"Wait," Isaac said, lingering in the doorway. Reggie gave him a vexed look, but Isaac ignored him to point at Alex. "I need you to stay here to watch the guy in case he wakes up." He then moved his hand to point toward the next room, where the beds were. "Ice, medication, pillows. Everything he needs is in there." Isaac then turned around and closed the station door. "Okay," he said. "You head to the council room. I need to see to something."

Reggie was about to ask what that was, but Isaac was already sprinting away. Every day brought new complications.

***

The council room was dreadfully quiet and not a single council member was speaking a word. When Reggie entered the room, all they could do was stare at him. Reggie could swear he felt a shiver run up his spine. "Someone tell me what's going on," he said, looking around the room. "And where's Myriah? Shouldn't she be here for this?"

Rhonda spoke up, but her voice was quiet. Reggie could see that her eyes were red. "She's been hurt. Derick's looking after her, and Isaac is on his way."

... Hurt? By the look of the council, Reggie began to wonder if it was fatal. He felt bile rise at the back of his throat. "How... did she get hurt? How hurt is she?"

Randy cleared his throat before speaking. "We're not sure what happened. We believe there was another attack on Myriah's life--"

Reggie stepped forward now, rage suddenly overtaking him. He slammed a fist on the table. "Not again! Not fucking again!"

"There-There's more," Randy said, slightly shaken. "Someone was killed. Samantha Baxter. She-- We don't know why. We think it was just because she was with Myriah at the time, but she was caught sneaking around last night."

Reggie could barely listen. Blood pumped heavily in his ears. "I don't care why, I want to know what we're going to do about this. We have to find the piece of shit who did this!"

Rhonda spoke again, her voice more pronounced now. "You're right, and that's why we have to keep everyone inside Outpost. We'll have the watchers who were on duty at the time of the murder stand guard. It'll be tough on them, but it will be necessary."

Reggie leaned forward, his eyes trained on Rhonda. He couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. "My scouts wouldn't have done this," he said, his voice barely straddling calm.

"We don't now that," Randy said. "You don't know that."

This couldn't be happening. Not now. Not when everything could go wrong. When did everything become a threat? What the hell was even going on in this world? "We keep Outpost supplied! You can't keep us from doing our job!"

"The council already voted on it, Reggie. You have no room to argue." Reggie tried to explain that he could at least argue his point, but Rhonda spoke over him. "We're well supplied, Reggie! We just want to get to the bottom of this!" The woman's voice strained as she pushed back tears. "God-- I can't believe this has happened."

Reggie wasn't having any of this. Rhonda could cry all she want, but Reggie knew that she was wrong. Yet another mutiny attempt-- A murder! No matter how much Reggie did for this community, it always found a way to shatter itself. Now they were going to repay him by keeping him from protecting them? "Forget this," Reggie said, his hands balled into fists. He kicked one of the chairs, toppling it over.

"I'll find this murderer, don't you goddamn worry."

Alex Clark - The Outpost - Reggie/Nelson

Arriving back at the Outpost was a bliss as it was every time, but as pretty much every time, overshadowed by the feeling he did something wrong. They quickly brought the unconscious man to Isaas who could tell them that the man only had a broken nose. Alex let out a surprised whistling tone, having seen the wreckage of the car and the enormous amount of walkers surrounding the car-crash victim. He paid little attention to what was going on as he let his eyes scan the man for any more injuries, even though after Isaac's examination that was pretty much unnecessary. Suddenly Jeryy was sent away however,and Reggie started talking to him. As Reggie looked for words Alex shrugged and looked at his feet, anticipating was what coming for him. Isaac seemed to have left without he had noticed anything, so he was alone in the room with Reggie and the unconscious man.

"... All right, there's something I need you to hear. Don't speak up until I'm finished." Reggie finally began and slowly took a seat on the small table in the room, upon which Alex sat down aswell, right across Reggie. He could see how the man fought to say what he was about to say, and he was indecisive if he wanted Reggie to hurry up or delay some more.

He supported his head with his face and stared at the table as Reggie's words' meaning got through to him. He couldn't have used any better words, since he was almost exactly phrasing Alex' fears. He didn't want to get anyone killed because of his failures, and he had so many. It had been a completely selfish decision to become a scout back when he joined, already knowing from experience that despite the fact that he, just like everybody else, was just looking for a safe place, any period of rest or inactivity would kill him faster than the monsters out there. He had read it in books and seen it in movies so many times before, but only after the outbreak he had started to realize howmuch truth there was in the sentence 'The monsters in the head are a lot worse than those out there'. Any unguarded moment during which he was not actively occupying himself with something he would start thinking, thinking of all the people of his previous two groups that had died. Because of him. His stupid mistakes, his indecisiveness, his wrong judgement... Even his girlfriend had died because of him. It was even worse that they had trusted him all that time, and even at their final moments forgave him for what unrepairable mistakes he had done. He simply could not. That only made what was coming worse for him, eve, though a macabre part of his brains encouraged Reggie for saying what he was about to say. It was better to ruin Alex' live than to risk the lives of the entire community. In a way he already welcomed the idea aswell, as some sort of justice. He would be delivered to the haunting ghosts of his past as a punishment for getting them killed, and trying to do the same to the Outpost, however unvoluntarily.

Reggie sighed, looking down. "I don't want another death on my hands. I think it's best if you stayed within Outpost's walls from now on. There's always guard duty, and the guys on the wall will--"

His shoulders sank a few inches as he accepted the words. He had seen it coming, but it still hit him like a train. However, before he could delve too far in a cave of depressed thoughts the door swung open, to reveal the pale face of Isaac. He looked extremely troubled by something, yes, even thoroughly afraid. Alex stored the dark thoughts in a small corner of his mind as he paid close attention to the conversation between the student and Reggie, untill the latter left the room to face yet another problem, but not before inviting Alex to have a talk with him about his future.

This reminded him so much of times when he was sitting in the sofa uncomfortably and his parents would be having a serious conversation with him, that it almost hurt physically. As both men left, Isaac ordered him to stay here with the unconscious man with a sense of authority as if he was a full-fledged doctor already. Ofcourse, that didn't matter anymore in this world, and in fact Alex could claim to be just as much of a historian as Isaac could claim to be a doctor. Only he didn't. Who would be interested in history in a time like this anyways?

He sighed and let his head rest on both of his hands as he was left to his inner demons to torment inside the room with the unconscious man.

Matt-Outpost-Thomas,Bex,Rudy

"Oh, hi Rudy" Matt muttered as Rudy entered the room. His eyes flickered to Thomas as he grabbed the book. That could of seemed too eager, but Rudy probably didn't notice. "Well, let's start with the day of the mutiny, shall we?" Matt looked around. "Yes....." Matt muttered as he took a step back..."Let's see what Reggie has been hiding-" Suddenly Sarah burst into the room. Causing Matt to jump a bit. After a second Matt quickly walked in front of her to block the view. "Oh...Hey...Sarah" Matt said with a confused look.

"Matt, we need you for a council meeting, it's a emergency!" Was all Sarah said before she ran off, presumably for the meeting. His back still towards the group, particularly Rudy. A small smile crept upon Matt's face for a second. Bye Samantha, I'm sorry it had to be you Before quickly disappearing. He turned around and shrugged. "Well, I guess I'm needed for something important. You guys try to see if there's something..." Matt murmured as he headed off.
A emergency council meeting was called, and thankfully Reggie wasn't there when Matt entered the room. "What's happening?" Matt Questioned as he took a seat. Everyone seemed sad. Matt already knew what it was all about of course. Reggie came in his usual way. And like how he normally would, was furious when he found out that another "Attempt" on Myriah life. Perfect. More anger was added when he found out that sadly Samantha had been murdered.

Matt had a very sad look on his face, "I just...can't believe this" He put his hands on his face. "This is horrible" He mumbled as he slowly stood up. Everyone was to be kept in outpost. Which apparently just added more to Reggie anger. He slowly walked towards the exit. "Yes...Reggie. You must find this murderer. I, trust you"

Jennifer/DeSean - Camp - Imogen/Others

When Imgoen placed her hand on Jennifer's shoulder, the girl rapidly tensed up. But once she noticed who stood next to her, she gave a rather warm smile. By placing her own hand above Imogen's, Jennifer displayed her trust in the girl. Though she didn't talk much, she was indeed one of their own. Jennifer believed the new group to be a developed family as stupid as that sounds. She's always wanted a child, but had many symptoms that did not allow her to have one. She had menstrual cycle irregularities, anovulation, and some other indications. It was rather unfortunate for both her and DeSean because the two wanted a child.

Even now at the end of days, they're mindset on having one has not changed. Though the two know it impossible, every night they continue to give attempt. Not only do they do it for that reason, but for pleasure as well, putting aside all the horrors of the new world and attempting to make it brighter. It actually isn't an every night thing, but it does happen rather frequently.

Anyhow, Jennifer turned to the tent as DeSean started walking towards them - this was before Hank had left for the medic tent himself. Jennifer turned to Imogen one last time and said, "Thank you. Now get eating, we can't let the food go to waste. Maybe later we can play some cards or something."

As DeSean finally sat next to his beloved, he wrapped his right arm around her and was handed a small, but delicious bowl of food. Hungrily, he started to dig in. After about three spoonfuls, he turned up to the rest surrounding the campfire and commented. "Hmmmm, this is good eating!" he said with a smile, followed by a chuckle from himself and Baby Seth. Jennifer pitched in a smile, thanking God she was still alive to enjoy this rare occasional joy.

Then of course, Seth decided to ruin the moment by speaking. "So, what we doing about that guy?" he questioned, making the little joyous campfire go silent. He pulled his head up from his plate and shrugged his shoulders wondering why everyone got quite. Thing is, at the moment, nobody wanted to worry about tomorrow, they just wanted to live today. In the new world, it was a day to day kind of thing - at least for this specific group. With the new topic on the table, DeSean stopped eating and just stared at Seth in disgust. "Why you gotta bring this up now Baby? Were trying to eat and be at peace and you just ruin it kid. Tsk!" he started, putting his finished bowl down and nodding his head at Aiden in thanks. "C'mon Jenny, let's go to our tent" he stated, taking Jennifer by the hand. The woman followed her husband of course as the two vanished into their little home.

On the other side of the equation, Seth didn't think he did anything wrong. He thought the question was appropriate, but maybe at the moment it hadn't been. But anyway, he looked at everyone else that remained awaiting an answer. "But seriously, I think we should let him stay" he said, giving his own opinion on the matter. "That's what Hank said" he added, not truly stating what Hank had told him, but giving a general view of what Hank thought.

Aiden-Camp

Aiden smiled as people gave their praise, if it brought them some type of happiness then he was happy. Though Seth did make him frown a little bit. But as DeSean and Jennifer went to do...whatever they did in their. Aiden rolled his eyes as Seth spoke once again. "Well...Yeah. If he doesn't try to kill us then we should probably let him stay. Everyone is useful in their own way. But it all depends on what he does. If he wants to, then sure. If not....then, well....he won't" Aiden wiped his mouth as he finished the meal.

"You should probably work on your timing though, it's a bit poor. just a bit" Aiden smiled as he stood up. "But, hopefully...yes, I hope that that he stays...But that's just me" Aiden shrugged as he headed into his tent, before coming out again with a small ball. As the group knew, Aiden had a small bouncy ball that he would bounce around when thinking or when he was just bored. "Yes, I know your all jealous"

Katie - Haywood - Rob, Lauren

Katie stared at Rob. Her small face was impassive, but her eyes... her eyes...
She stared at him with more hatred, more malice, more anger then any child should have in their bodies. At that moment, she looked exactly like Tyler.

"I hate you," she told him.

At that moment... she hated... everyone...

She jerked herself out of Lauren's hands and ran. She ran out of the house. There were people outside but she ignored them. She heard Emma calling to her but didn't reply. She only ran.

She hated all of them. She never wanted to see any of them ever again. She hoped they would all die.

She fell and skinned her knees, jarring her arm which made her scream at the pain. She heard people calling her name but she only got up and kept running. There was only one place she wanted to be right now.

Finally losing track of the people following her, Katie ran into the building they had come to when they first arrived. Amazingly her blanket fort was still there in the laundry room, untouched. The small child climbed inside and huddled there, her arms wrapped around her knees. She didn't cry. She only sat staring.

Rob had pretended to be her friend, but he wasn't.
Emma had pretended to be her friend, but she wasn't.
No one was her friend. They were all liars. They all said her daddy was bad, but he wasn't.
They were bad.

She would wait.
Wait until everyone fell asleep tonight. Once they did, she would take what she could find and leave. She'd find her daddy by herself. And once she did, she would never trust anyone, never love anyone but him ever again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather - Camp/Medic Tent - Hank
Heather's head jerked up as someone entered the tent. Her eyes narrowed and her body stiffened when she realized who it was.
Hank.
Even the momentary eye contact hurt like hell, making her turn away.
She scoffed at the tie. Did he really think he could order her around? She'd tie it if she wanted to and she didn't want to.
"If you thought he was a danger then you shouldn't have brought him in the first place," she said bluntly before turning her attention back to the unconcious man. She continued cleaning off his chest. There was a nasty looking wound on his side. She peered at it. "He's been hurt, badly. Someone, either him or someone else, cauterized the wound. Burned it closed," she clarified. She dug around in the bag at her feet and found some salve and began to apply it gently.
With how coldly she spoke to Hank, Heather turned warm and gentle with patients. It was what made her a good nurse. She cared about people and treated them like she cared.
When he mentioned getting food she snorted. "Didn't know you cared," she snapped, then closed her eyes and sighed.
She was doing it again. Letting him turn her into a cold bitch that she didn't want to be.
She rubbed the spot between her eyes and tried again.
"It makes more sense for me to be here when he wakes up," she said, trying to be civil but her tone was about as warm as a tarantula. "He'll be more likely to behave with me, because I am a woman. Besides, I'm not hungry."
Outpost
The council had a community meeting soon after Reggie stormed out of the office. The community was abuzz with excitement about the sudden meeting. Could it be that the wall expansion was to be built after all? Perhaps the biter horde had changed its direction? With the fanfare that occurred when the scouts arrived earlier in the day, the citizens of Outpost were enjoying a fun break from the usual monotony. Everyone showed up for the meeting and even the slower members of the community showed up on time. The crowd talked over each other, chatting about what the meeting was for. Some were hopeful and spoke brightly of Outpost's future.
All went silent when Sarah and Derick stepped on the dais calling for everyone to listen carefully. It was usually Myriah or Reggie who spoke during these meetings, so the presence of neither was felt by everyone. Sarah waited a few seconds before she spoke, but it felt a lot longer to the people watching her. She began to explain that something terrible had occurred within their walls. The life of a young girl, Samantha Baxter, was ended by an unknown assailant. The crowd's silence turned into a harsh buzzing at the news. No one could believe what they had just heard.
Sarah went on to explain that they would take every effort to find who did this. She told the crowd that no one was to leave Outpost under any circumstance until further notice. She urged everyone that if they had any info that they believed relevant to come to the council with it. Then she was done, and Derick took her place. He began to lay out the details for how Outpost would be locked down and how his builders would act as guards. The crowd was barely listening at this point, too shell shocked by this information. One man yelled out, "Where's Myriah?!" Then another man echoed his call, causing a chain reaction of people yelling over each other. The crowd began to move restlessly, some of them attempting to get closer to the dais. It wasn't long before everyone was pushing and shoving at each other. No one could be trusted now.
Then, shots rang out. The crowd panicked and a large number of them dropped to the ground and covered their heads. The yelling continued, but this time out of fear.
"QUIET!" someone yelled. "Everyone shut the fuck up!" It was Reggie, his rifle pointed up into the air. "All of you listen to me right now! What we have on our hands is another mutiny attempt! Myriah is alive, but Samantha lost her life today, so every damn one of you better give her the respect she deserves!"
Silence had fallen over the crowd again. Some of them looked absolutely bewildered. "We will behave," Reggie continued. "And we will all act like rational human beings. Today is a day of mourning, people."
Reggie then turned around and walked away, leaving the crowd stunned. They were all silent as they slowly returned to their cabins.
Aaliyah/Imogen - Camp - Jennifer/others.
Imogen Smiled when Jennifer place her hand on hers, Her warm smile was enough to cheer anyone up, The thing was with this group was it was like a family unit, they all knew each other to one degree or another, there was trust and they all had something unique to bring to this amazing group and Imogen was grateful for more than anything, Sure she took a while to adjust and come out of her skins and was usually reserved not talking much but boy when she does the blonde is honest and to the point in her opinion. The group was coming together for the evening meal that once again Aiden was working his magic on what ever food they had and probably left them wondering how the heck he did it but Imogen wouldn't complain, these moments were usually her favourite along Aaliyah where everyone usually got together camp around a fire and enjoyed the company and it was a joyful moment that always helped morale, Hank and DeSean did a great job of getting all these different people together in one place.
When Jennifer turned and spoke Imogen it was good to see despite today's events that she was holding up well, Imogen was very protective of the group " I'll hold you to that Jen" She smiled as herself along with the others sat down to eat. When Aaliyah turned up she asked for an extra bit of food to take to Heather who remained with their latest patient in case he suddenly woke up, no doubt the guy will be startled at first to find himself in a unknown place and only hoped he would not turn out to be violent or a danger to the group. Aaliyah couldn't help but smile at DeSean as he perked up clearly enjoying his meal and the company no doubt But she couldn't help but notice Hank had left early after eating. But what took the biscuit was Seth and epic timing of fail moments, He no doubt didn't do it on purpose and she did find it amusing the poor guy but it seemed he ruined the moment they were having but Aaliyah did chuckle a little at him for his timing.
It seemed to certainly upset DeSean and he left with Jennifer in tow and even Aiden had thrown in his two cents on the matter when Seth felt he had a point to which he did but it was probably a conversation best suited to tomorrow on a fresh day which was based on the hopes the guy didn't wake up during the night and wondered around while people where asleep. But when she finished up her meal Aaliyah smiled and stood up looking to the remaining people there. "Thank you for the meal Aiden" She looked at Seth before Imogen nodding. "Erm..Right if you excuse me, I got a meal to give to Heather before it gets cold" After that she left the fire and towards the Medical tent where she walked in. "Heather I got your me.." She began to speak but stopped realizing she had just walked in to what obviously was Hank and Heather moment, Always best to steer clear of those and never ask. She looked at the pair. " Sorry, I'll be outside" She said really awkwardly and she sharply left and stood outside.
Imogen meanwhile had enjoyed her meal like the rest but was Amused and feeling sorry for Seth for his poor sense of timing but she remained with him, No doubt she would be pulling a all nighter, there was no way she was going to sleep and risk not protecting her family from that stranger if he woke up, No way was that happening if she could help it. For now thought she looked at Seth, " Seth, Sorry honey but your sense of timing there sucked, But you do have a point and right to think about it, but it probably was best to wait and see what tomorrow brings, The others will be fine, Please don't beat yourself up over it" She smiled reassuringly, it was odd, Imogen was coming out of her shell, god it took long enough but still she was still the quiet one for the most part. She acknowledged Aiden for his cooking as it got the Imogen seal of approval, she then went about sorting out her crossbow while keeping the those at the camp-fire company and Aiden with that bouncy ball again, She shook her head a let out a little chuckle at his comment of them being jealous.
Turisa - New Orleans.
Turisa was still deep within the city where she had been scavenging very much to nothing in supplies but did successfully syphon some fuel from nearby cars that was put into the fuel tank of her black SUV, The horrible taste in her mouth from sucking up the vile stuff into her mouth would take age to get rid of especially when she was conserving her water supply, she still had enough to last her a few day in that department. After securing what scraps of supplies she could into the boot of the vehicle she couldn't help but hear shouting, normally one would but the city was so dead quite these days that any loud sound could be amplified or echoed more than it would or should.
It sounded like a man was screaming but not in pain as if he was being mauled to death but more like yelling at someone. Locking up her vehicle as it did sound pretty close by which could explain why she hardly any walkers, Turisa grabbed her Chicago police jacket that she momentarily placed on the hood if her SUV and put it on over her uniform, After all it was starting to get late and it helped conceal her weapons that she the officer took off in the general direction from where the screaming had been coming from. Really it had been only a couple of blocks where she was met with a scene of a man grabbing the attention of pretty much all the walkers away from a very young looking girl, It was admirable thing to do and see with her own eyes, The Latin woman managed to get a glimpse of the girl going into the building.
After the unknown Male was gone leading the walkers away and the coast was pretty much clear, Turisa cautiously made her way over to the entrance of the abandoned building it looked rather mucky as expected checking to see if the coast is clear. Quietly she walked into the building looking around, It was so dam quiet and Turisa rested her hand on her Hatchet knife under her Jacket unclipping the button ready to unsheathe it if necessary as something just didn't feel right, calling out the Latina got no response as she kept her breathing calm while walking into the next room. The place was very dirty which was to be expected as a walker shuffed along the floor but not aimlessly wondering like they normally do but going in a specific direction and amongst the moaning from the thing she could barely make out as if someone was grasping for air like they were struggling to breath, Turisa grew worried and prayed that nothing got the girl and tore her throat as it would be such a sickening thing to see.
Quickly going up behind the walker once again Turisa had dispatched yet another walkers with her hatchet knife, She often wonder why she bothered to clean it half the time but she did using the ragged clothing of the now taken down walker. Cautiously I round the corner to the only sound she could hear and thankfully the sight before her was not so bad as expected. The girl was curled up on the floor wheezing but with no blood around her other than a...inhaler! " You got to be bloody kidding me"She said under her breath with her Latin accent clearly present. How on earth had this kid survived all this with asthma? That didn't matter right now as Turisa sprung into action kneeling down next to the girl and quickly grabbing her inhaler and opening it. "Hey there" She said softly as she put the inhaler to the girls mouth."Come on now darling, that's it" Turisa said helping the girl take the breaths from the inhaler while her other hand was softly stroking the girls hair hoping to keep her calm. "That's it deep breaths, Your safe now" It had been so long since she saw anyone else and normally would not engaged with strangers but this poor girl was vulnerable and needed the help once she would calm Turisa would see if she was capable of getting to her truck a couple of blocks away where she had water and a blanket.
Emilly MacTavish- New Orleans - Abandoned Building - Turisa
I could barely form a single coherent thought anymore as I was on the cusp of passing out when I felt gentle hands pull me up of the floor and my inhaler found it's way to my lips. Almost instinctively my hand reached out and wrapped around the hand already holding the inhaler as I released a dose of medicine into my lungs. I could almost instantly feel a wave of relief wash over me as I felt my throat open up and air flow into my lungs clearly, so I took another dose. Again I felt the wave of relief wash over me as my lungs started to work again. Another hit and I started to regain control of my breathing. Unable to see and still unaware of my surroundings I managed rasp out through rapid breath's "Dad?"
When my vision finally cleared up I looked up above me to see a pretty young Latin women staring down at me. I blinked several times unable to think of anything other then who is this woman. I tried to sit up and pull away from her but my body fought back against me, still reeling from the asthma attack. Where was my father? Who was she? Where was I? My thought's quickly spiraled as I began to panic rather obviously unsure of what to do. Finally I couldn't stay silent any longer as my voice came out low and quiet.
"Who are you? And where's my dad?
Nelson - The Outpost - Alex
Nelson was running. As fast as he could. He couldn't keep a steady pace up for prolonged periods of time and kept tripping over. Casting a glance over his shoulder, he saw that a huge group of walkers were chasing after him. It must have numbered in the hundreds. Nelson could feel himself begin to sweat and couldn't breathe normally. His heart and lungs felt like they were about to explode into a million tiny pieces. Nelson clutched at his chest, trying to regain correct respiration, but it just wasn't happening. Finally, his legs gave out and he fell flat onto his back, paralysed. The herd was coming closer. He lay spread eagled on the ground, unable to move. This was it. This was how he was going to die. Torn limb from limb by ravenous walkers. Nothing more than a meal to the legions of the undead. They surrounded him and closed in. The first walker opened it's mouth, revealing decaying teeth, and pounced. Everything went black before it reached his unclean flesh.
Nelson launched himself up from the bed, sweating profusely. "It was just a dream," he kept reassuring himself. He ran his hands all over his body, worriedly checking for bites or scratches. He found none. Nelson propped himself up with an elbow as the room he was in came into focus. He hadn't seen this place before. Had he been kidnapped? Had the walkers evolved and were now capturing their prey to eat at a later date? Nelson slowed his breathing right down in an attempt to calm his heart rate. He sighed, happy that he was somewhat safe, even if it was just for a day. Nelson swung his legs over to the side of the bed before noticing a man was there.
Nelson stared at the man for a minute, not able to decide whether or not he was a walker. He instinctively reached for the handgun that normally sat in his waistline. It wasn't there. Nelson screwed his eyes shut, scolding himself for losing it. He glared at the man again, before speaking.
"Where the fuck am I?"
