Space...its big and dark. not much to it really, But there's a fortune to be made here, Dreams to accomplish, Lifes to live, You might say that its the final frontier, I like that, Space..the Final Frontier

A deep black space..empty, Then a Medium-sized ship flys past, in fact. Many more smaller ships follow about 5, The small ships Occasionally fired a crimson red beem at the medium sized ship, causing a Soundless explosion and leaving a hole, the medium ship was Flying for its life

the Small ships were small and Red A logo on there side, a Star. the Medium sized ship was just big and grey, It was a Eyesore, with scratches and holes and dents surrounding it,

Then, a bright light surrounded the medium sized-ship. And consumed it, the Ship Jumped forward, into the darkness of space..But however, the Small ships did too..following in pursuit.

Prologue

The 5 small ships warped into sight, Just getting enough time to view the Medium Sized ship, near a Plant..Falling helplessly into the planets orbit, the Planet was big and green. much like a planet called Earth, Before the industrialization of course, now it was Grey and blue, you could see the glowing lights of the cities a mile away,

the medium Ship fallen and fallen, until it disappeared and made a tiny orange dot. they were finished..

Well there goes out merc problem the voice sounded Crisp and new, the voice of a young man in his 20's, He was in a room full of computers and a big window with a view of the planet, the young man was wearing a Beige colored jacket with Blue jeans and a white shirt beneath his jacket

That person was named Barrack, Twirling a Bright sliver sword, a Older man, In his 40's was sitting on a Chair, a serious look on his face, he had a Tuxedo and he was much more formally dressed, this person was Marco, the Owner of a company known as Star ink, His chair was facing the mass of computers, so he could command them all

He pressed a big red button on the side of his chair, the Intercom cracked as he pressed it, he Leaned to the button and announced I would like a 6 man strike team to prepare and land on the planet and Off any survivors Marco spun his chair around, Your going too He commanded Barrack, They'll be dead before you can "chicken fries" He told Marco, Chicken fries. Are the survivors dead now? No they're not now get moving Marco Snapped,

Unfazed Barrack Stopped leaning against his wall and nodded Sure boss, He said as he walked into a elevator, the elevator door closing and Plunging down to the bottom floor, where Barrack would lead a squad to kill off a couple of survivors, If they're was any

Tamrapani was somewhat less calm about this whole chain of events. For starters, she hated dogfights, there was just no way to do it right. A fight in space was like one of the Jr. High knife-fights kid's would get in back on Naraka: it didn't matter who won or lost, you were gonna get cut. And these little bastards were in knife-fighting range, contemptuously taking any return fire in order to gut the larger ship.

The ship shuddered as the inertial sump reoriented. Normally, that should have been too quick to feel. Normally, the backup should have covered for it. Of course, normally, they weren't taking laser fire and shucking around at eighty gravs. If that sump failed hard enough, everyone on her ship was so much jam. The other reason she hated dogfights: there was nothing she could do about them. The ship practically flew itself, and there were much more competent people in charge of gunnery. So she did what she could, and if that meant crawling between the grav plates to reach a blown transfer joint, then so be it.

She transferred her nervousness momentarily to getting the recalcitrant bit of machinery shifted. "Do. Your. Damned. Job. You." her words were punctuated with blows from her trusty fitting wrench. Suddenly, her efforts were rewarded with a feeling like space had turned inside out. Captain must have had his finger on the jump button, she surmised. Or she would have, anyway, but what actually came out was, "FUUUUUUUUU-Oof" as the already glitchy grav plates threw her through the floor.

Before she had a chance to do more than hate the ship a little, the jump drive failed, and everything went sideways. The ship rolled and bucked, heavy drumming shockwaves transmitting through the hull. Which could only mean they'd just hit atmo somewhere. Automatically, Tam made a panicky rush for a tied-down. They were about to come down hard.

Before she could do more than tighten her line, there was an actinic flash, and the starboard bulkhead came apart, an impossibly bright glowing object rocketed past. The inertial sump had given out spectacularly, and all the forces in the ship randomized for a moment. Up became sideways, down became back, Tam was crushed to the deck by eleven G's of relative gravity. She looked up to see the aft bulkhead completely buckle and start sliding toward her.

Huh, I always figured my last words would be profanity, but here- Everything went black.

A half hour later

A tiny dropship landed on a Hill, a VRRRMMM sound could be heard as it landed, the dropship looked like a Apache helicopter but better, A metal door on the side of the drop ship flung open and a Band of Armed soldiers came walking out,

A skeleton of a once-proud ship laid broken infront of them, big melted areas were lasers hit them, and the bottom of the ship was ripped, mud covered the sides, the ship smoked,

Barrack's group was armed to the top, they were a killing squad and a damned good one, the Star Ink company was the richest ever, they had the best millitary, and they even controlled a tiny portion of the galaxy, it would be hard to take out his little band of Killers,

Barrack stared at the ruin of the ship, He smiled and with a flick of his hand, the engineer of his squad Pulled out a C4 and set it, His squad moved back a bit to cover themselves from the explosion, the C4 was made of glass and had a countdown, the engineer Pushed the C4 onto the Steel wall of the ship, a 8-bit 10 appeared on it as it counted down, the engineer ran back to the squad to protect himself

Critical damage detected. Central nervous clusters inactive, significant physical damage detected. Minor damage detected to cognitive systems. Major damage detected to left arm.

Initiating automatic repair functions....

The silence that was now so prominent around what had once been the Cargo Bay stood in stark contrast to the noise that had thundered through it mere moments before. Memories were fuzzy, however. Damage had been dealt to the Cognitive Functions - it would most likely never entirely recover those memories. A small part of the ancient warrior mourned the loss of this small part of itself, even as the more practical parts of it's brain told it these memories were of no great importance.

Slowly, microscopic unspecified stem cells began rebuilding the complex organic structure of the Central Nervous system, as signals were redirected and muscles were brought back into operational state. Sensory organs besides hearing came back online, as a blurry and then focused image of the scene around Achilles came into view.

The ship had been torn apart. The lasers themselves had dealt only relatively little damage, dealt some blows to the hulls and to the engines. But the descent through the atmosphere, the failure of the Grav-Engine, and the failure of the Warp Drive had collaborated in a series of events that had annihilated most of the ship's armoured hull. Twisted steel and sparking cables lined the ground and ceiling, and Achilles was given a rather nice view of the sky through an almost perfectly cylindrical hole.

Basic Functionality restored, status considered operational.

With a sound akin to a long, guttural groan the biomechanical death machine stood. It's left arm had been ripped off, most likely by an impact with a large, sharp sheet of metal - potentially he had even been directly hit by one of the Laser Cannons equipped on the smaller raider ships that had pursued them. However, already a small stump had formed - given time and energy, it would reform. For the most part, he was intact and ready to go, although he would need to restock on energy soon. Seeing as how the situation was now, the best option was most likely to attempt to siphon as much energy as possible from the remains of the ship's engines. This would allow Achilles to return to a fully operational status, after which he could worry about the rest.

For a moment, the more human part of his mind considered the 50 to 60 people that had shared the ship with him. They had most likely been crushed to a pulp during the landing. If not, they would have been torn to pieces by the large shreds of metal, or burned to death in the leaking heat from the Engines, which had been Fusion-powered. There would be few survivors, if any.

What did it matter? This group of people had been one of many, to be utilized and then left behind as they fell. He had left fields of corpses far larger, and far more gruesome. And yet, he still lingered, just for a moment.

Sounds detected. Possible lifeforms in proximity.

Turning, Achilles moved forward, kicking down the steel walls of the ship that got in his way. Sound and heat could be detected coming from underneath a thick pile of twisted metal and electronics. Thoughts of recharging were lost, despite the practical part of his brain demanding that he perform maintenance first. Utilizing his superhuman strength to great effect, Achilles attempted to clear the debris from the ground, hoping to find a living member of the crew still intact.

In the distance, an explosion sounded. It was loud and clear, no aftereffect, none of the shrieking of Fusion Explosives. It was a C4 blast, centralized and focused to penetrate the ship's Blast Doors. There were intruders. Just another fact to store.

Combat capabilities are sub-optimal

Well, he wouldn't need optimal. All he needed was to get whomever this was out of the rubble. After he had completed that task, he would continue to fight however many battles were needed. But somehow, escape seemed rather pointless if he, once again, would be the sole survivor of this ever-so-unfortunate mercenary group.

Alex had been sitting in one of the gunner seats while they were being attacked. He did his best but the ship's weapons were not effective against the five smaller ships. He kept trying to hit them but they avoided the shots with ease. Suddenly he felt the ship enter warp, Alex relaxed because the weapon system always shuts down during warp to save power. Suddenly the ship began to shudder as he felt them falling out of warp. When the ship crashed it ended up ejecting Alex's seat due to malfunction. He ended up getting sent into the trees, a tree branch hit him in the head knocking him out cold. He gained consciousness just in time to see the hired men planting the C4. He quickly unbuckled and jumped out of the tree as the door exploded, chucks of the door hit the tree slicing a few branches off. Alex got up and thought to himself <I have to get inside and grab my guns without being seen, this isn't going to be easy.> He then activated his cloak and moved slowly around the ship. He stopped at a spot where he could watch the men at the newly made entrance and be far enough away to not be heard. He then pulled out a communicator, which he turned on and sent a ping to the other mercenaries' and waited to see how many responded.

Where was crewman Armstrong when all this turmoil was going on? Manning a cannon? In the engine room? In the confessional saying his prayers? No, more like he was hooked up to a tank-like device keeping him in a sort of rehabilitating stasis, while all this spectacular action was taking place unbeknownst to him. A heavy coma brought upon by his latest physical undertaking, having overexerted himself from their last skirmish. He was still far from 100%, though even at 60% or so, he'd prove his worth. Chimera's were designed to be quite stronger and adaptive than the average peak human and he was no exception, a super soldier if you will. It was believed that the Chimeras were designed by planetary powers to carry on the most essential of tasks, the seal team 6 of present day covert operations. It was no secret that Armstrong was a wanted man for having defected from his final directive. Many tried. None succeeded.

The steel wall exploded in a orange haze of fire, the fire disappeared and so did most of the wall, Barrack grabbed his thermal goggles, the landscape before him was a Psychedelic rainbow of Red, blue and green

He noticed a man-shaped Red blob Climb across a wall, the person was watching them..a survivor probably cloaked himself. The rest of the strike squad Cocked there rifles aiming it at the man on the wall except for the engineer, who pressed a button on his wielding hat that turned it into a Half-thermal vision/wielding hat

You know what to do Barrack told his Soldiers and they all started launching a haze of Lazers, everyone was firing laser guns, even the medic who had a Lazer pistol. The lazers were bright and crimson, and there was many. All aiming at the Merc who thought Cloaking was a good idea

Never again in my life shall I doubt thermal vision

Tam awoke when the hull shuddered again. It shouldn't be doing that. It had already crashed, why was it decided to explode now? She opened her eyes groggily to find a structural beam hanging six inches above her head. She took a moment to digest that. Finally, Tam gave a weak smile, "I guess it wasn't my time."

A familiar *click* sound came over her mastoid implanted comm. Someone had just pinged the transmit button. Standard, "Hostiles present, go to ground" signal. Moving a little bit faster now, she pinged back and began to maneuver through the wreckage. Engineering was a writeoff, the room suddenly half the space as before after the drive core came lose and crashed forward. The main doors were blocked, and Tam had to low-crawl to get to the maintenance ducting. Good thing she wasn't claustrophobic.

Mentally, she took stock of her assets as she headed for the nearest external hub. The armory was cut off, and she'd lost most of her gear in the wreck, probably still in orbit. And now she had to fight whichever mercenary cleanup team was making all that noise with nothing but a service pistol and a wrench... she grinned suddenly, her smile glowing in contrast to soot darkened skin. She also had a ship.

Jacking into the hub, she quickly found what she was looking for. In case of a main drive failure, the ship had several backup chemical rocket sodium-ion thrusters placed along the hull. They wouldn't give a hell of a lot of thrust, especially in atmosphere, but what they would give off, was a lot of very dense, very hot smoke.

Momentarily, she broke radio silence, "Iron Talon, head's up! Popping smoke!"

There was a noise like a tortured god, the hull flexed as fourteen rocket engines expended their fuel at once, exploding into searing hot steam and puffy clouds of nasty chemical smoke. Tamp palmed the door and sprinted for the treeline, holding her breath against the fumes.

Atara was running through the ship. Her normal gunning station was low on ammo already, so when she went out soon after they were attacked, there was nothing left to do but inform the other gunners over the radio comm link and almost roll out to find more ammo. On Tanith, those that joined the military at 13, like Atara did, were pushed to their limits and over, again and again, so Atara knew she could run fast and hard the whole way to and from through sheer force of will, so she honestly didn't think she'd be away from her station that long.

Normally she could even keep running through a jump - but then the jump failed. The ship stumbled and jostled, knocking Atara off her feet mid-step, so she lost her balance and fell into the wall. Bright liquid smeared onto the steel wall. Atara swiped her hand over her face and forehead, and felt just a cut on her lip and some blood from her nose. She'd be fine - head wounds always bled a lot. Grumbling curse words under her breath in Tanithian, she carefully tried getting to her feet using the wall as an assistant, changing goals. The ammo didn't matter now, for jumping to fail meant they'd been hit pretty badly, and were probably going to crash soon, if were not already falling. Her new tactic was to regroup with as much of Iron Talon as she could, and see if they could survive this.

She started to run down the hallway again, albeit more slowly this time, but running and a falling ship wasn't really a good mix, and another hit sent her sprawling again. She crashed into another wall. She hit the back of her head this time, and as the world started fading out around her, the thought in her mind was that her older brother would so be telling her I told you abandoning our noble military for childish dreams of mercenary space adventures would get you killed, I told you so if he were here right now.

When Atara woke up, all was still. They must have finally crashed while she was out of it.She reached to touch her face. Her face still had blood on it, but it was mostly dried. That was good. Sitting up, she checked her status and well being. Her armor and weapons were a bit damaged but still on her, and she didn't seem to have any other wounds. That was good. It was time to get out of the ship, before something caught fire. Then, she got the alert that there were hostiles. Great. This was just what their team needed. She then frowned a bit. Besides whoever sent the alert, she had no idea if there even were any survivors. She'd figure that out later. Not she had to get out of here.

Most of the walls in this hallway had been damaged. Atara would have to move carefully to avoid getting hit by falling wall or debris. She stepped purposefully and lightly, occasionally dropping to her knees and her stomach to wiggle her way underneath the metal.

Then the bomb was exploding, and Atara broke through one of the ship's glass windows, gritting her teeth as the shards came into contract with her skin. She hit the ground - the grassy ground, apparently - and through sheer power of will forced herself to shrug it off. It was just a little pain, not even anything major. She didn't have the luxury to indulge herself in the pain she felt right now. Her eyes scanned the area quickly. A forest, she could maneuver a forest, ands it would put something between herself and anyone shooting at her. While she wanted to help see if she could find any survivors, standard procedure with the Iron Talon in a situation like this was to get to safety first and the regroup. Taking a breath, she made for the treeline.

Tam slid into cover behind a downed tree. Judging by the distinct lack of bullets chasing her, she assumed she hadn't been seen. However, whoever was after them had apparently found one of her teammates.

The actual LASER beams should not have been visible on their own. One of the advantages to a laser was that it was pretty quiet (until it hit something) and you couldn't trace the beam back to the shooter. However, the dense smoke surrounding the ship was refracting the beams, allowing them to show up quite clearly from over a hundred yards away. Whoever it was, they were on the other side of the ship, so she did have to deal with direct fire, yet. But what she wouldn't give for a grenade launcher.

Whoever they were shooting at, though, couldn't say the same. Hopefully, the fire would be attenuated by the smoke (one of the main disadvantages of LASER weapons was they treat cover and concealment the same). She risked a call over Iron Talon encrypted channels. "Whoever's engaged on the ships port side, try to disengage to the left, I can provide limited cover from the treeline."

As she set up her position, she spotted another figure sprinting from the ship. She reflexively tracked the figure with her pistol for a moment before she recognized her. "Hey, Rook. On your right, fifteen meters. Get in cover."

A laser hit the ground in front of him while a second glanced his shoulder. "damn it" He said as he rolled back from the hill and pulled out a flash bang. "try this on for size." He threw the flash bang at the hired guns and ran around the other side of the ship. As he rand he heard Tam over the com and muttered "that's one survivor." He saw that the ship now had a lot more holes in it from the windows being shattered from the breach charges. He then climbed into the ship through a window and ended up in the armory. Alex then heard over the com about the woods to the left of the ship. Alex then ran into the woods and saw Rook also running from the ship as well. "that's two" he said as he arrived in the woods. He saw Tam and said "these guys wont give up will they"

Atara nodded even though she wasn't facing Tam and talking to her; it was a habit from training days, where you didn't speak unless you were told to speak, even if it was just an affirmative or a negative. "Roger that. Good to know somebody else's lived through this," she responded quickly. Since there weren't really bullets in this area, she took a few moments to actually properly look for good cover. Atara knew how to climb trees, but she also knew her armor would slow her down to the point of making it not worth it. She spotted a place seven meters away, about halfway to Tam's general location, where there were some bushes next to a tree and a dip in the ground behind it where the earth had been washed away and the roots had sunk. Atara made her way to the location and hunkered down in the dip in the ground, looking over her shoulder to make sure the bushes were thick enough for proper cover. "Clear," she said at last, much more quietly. "About seven or eight meters from your approximate location," she added, still quiet in case enemies were near.

main power restored. system check engaged. external armor intact. leak detected. patching now. coolant systems online and intact. melting bio ice for traditional coolant. lifesuport operational. optics damaged, repairing now. auditory damaged. repairing now. vocal systems intact. motor systems intact. major system check completed. you may now operate while the system check continues. lighting intact....

dracul woke up to a sea of black. apparently the landing had taken out most of the suits sensory systems. he would have a little bit before they repair, assuming that nothing more impotent is broken.
visual repaired
the world apired before him, a sea of molten iron replacing the blackness. the hallway that he was in during the attack appeared to have ripped itself off of the ship. a small bit of what was once a wall held tightly to his right hand...or was it the other way around? the little screws in his hand removed themselves from the wall, which crumbled without its sturdy supporter.
audio online BOOOM audio offline
for a split second the world was filed with the sound of C4 exploding, ripping apart the newly repaired microphones. what ever that was, dracul should probably investigate. if it was a engine, then at least he would have a idea of where the rest of the ship was.... if there was a rest of the ship. if it was something different...
external weapons intact and operational
at least he would finaly get some use out of his rifle...

Tam grinned at the sniper as he came pelting into the treeline, popping off a few unaimed rounds towards the enemy by way of suppression. "Well yeah! You know damn well we'd be just as thorough if we were being paid to kill someone. Although I wouldn't mind a bit of professional courtesy in this case."

She looked across the field to where the smoke was beginning to dissipate. "As much as I've got to admire their attitude, let's try and make sure they don't get paid. We're slightly outnumbered right now, so I'm voting for a tactical withdrawal. Either of you got grenades? Rig a pair up on tripwires to slow 'em down and let's split. We'll have to find a town or something and meet up with any other survivors later... if this planet has towns anyway."

Back at the ship, all of the auxiliary support systems were down having rerouted to an emergency protocol to withstand the impending crash landing, whoever was contained in the medical tank was long gone by now, leaving only shards of shattered glass and a trail of therapy fluid. In the dark confines of the ship, a lone figure lurked on, watching from an undisclosed vantage point, their formation, their roles, every little subtle intricacy, he studied the chain of the enemy in total, when he saw a chance, he seized.

He wasn't completely aware of the situation transpiring about him or where his comrades were, but he figured he'd be meeting up with the gang sooner than expected, any trump was better than none. The fact that the others had already evacuated the ship and there been so much commotion onboard beforehand aided him, making it a bit more more easier for him to slip by. By now most of the hunting team were outside flanking down the the rest of the crew who had eluded capture so far.

Shi opened her eyes, looking around at the devastated ship. The sounds of explosions echoing in her ears. Her hand reached for her back, landing atop her trident. Fingers curling around the weapon, Shi slowly stood up, slowly hovering towards an area where Shi could exit the area of the ship she was currently in.

As Shi left the where had been lying, the battle unfolded before her eyes. She could see the lasers, a result of thick smoke. And some of her crew members were still alive. The hand that wasn't curled around her tridents tightened around Shi's communication device. Shi would never be old against long range attackers, so she slowly moved away from the enemies, hoping to regroup with her comrades later.

A bright light obscured Barracks vision, making it nearly impossible to see, He grunted a bit and stumbled around, the Light dissipated after awhile, followed by a hail of bullets,

they all missed..Except one which Hit the tip of barracks right ear, causing a nick of blood and a nick of pain as well..

His environment was more blue now, there was mist..people would see the lasers being fired, Barrack turned around looking to where someone attempted to half-assedly shoot him, two Red shapes which resembled people were sitting in a tree,

they're were actually plenty of survivors for a Crashed ship, usually he only dealt with 2 or 3 stragglers who were already on the verge of death

Confused, he Commanded everyone to target the people in the trees@KzkSkippy@Dreamcaster the people raised there rifles and pistols, firing Bright beams of red through the mist, everyone could see it due to the thickness,

This was pissing Barrack off, he was hoping to use his Gladius but everyone was too busy hiding in the trees

With the sound of screeching metal and a shower of sparks, Achilles pulled a sheet of metal away from the person, who was still barely breathing. They were unconscious, and had been cut fairly badly, but they were alive. Of course, Achilles didn't know the firs thing about first aid - all he knew was how to kill. But the comms confirmed that there were more people alive. undoubtedly, somewhere, there would be someone who knew something of first aid. he would carry this person to safety, and get them healed. Some part of him knew, of course, that this person wouldn't live much longer - most of their lower body had been lacerated by shrapnel - but with the current level of technology even such serious wounds could be healed.

Almost gingerly, the death machine took a hold of the fragile creature before him, lifting it over his shoulder. Blood trickled down his back, but he didn't mind. He used his single remaining arm to keep the being in place, as he spoke over the intercoms. "I have a wounded person here. I'm moving towards the front exit, what is the location of the medic?" If the medic was even alive, of course. He would need to find and take the shortest possible route.

As Achilles walked through the mist and rubble, he already knew that there were hostiles ahead. He didn't care much. He had lived through a thousand battles, a group of fools with weapons wasn't going to stop him. And as he emerged into the forested outside, and looked around to find beams of laser firing around him, his opinion didn't change.

The robot stood at almost twice the height of a human, 3.2 meters tall. Covered in black, chitinous plating with a glass-like substance covering it's 'eyes', the two red orbs in it's face that it used for most of it's light-based detection. As a stray beam of laser hit it's side, it didn't even flinch, as it left only a slight burn mark. Instead, he looked towards the nearest 'hostile', the medic, who had turned and was now gaping at Achilles' chest. "Out of my way."
