April 1st. The day of opening ceremonies all across Academy City. Schools were getting ready for their students, and Hybrid Academy was no exception. It was still early for most students to wake up, but the adults were hard at work with the preparations. At a glance, Hybrid Academy looked peaceful, but one would find themselves extremely wrong once they look inside...

Faculty Lounge

"Are the papers organized?" asked Mr. Principle
"I'll do that." said sensei1
"How are those preparations going?" asked Mr. Principle
"At about half way done?" said sensei2
"Oh, come on, we have until nine before the ceremony. No more breaks until everything is in place." said Mr. Principle

People relaxing in the lounge groaned. "Well? Get a move on! You too, Kenobi-sensei. You haven't even done anything since you came in!" The man the headmaster addressed was sitting on a chair, calmly sipping some tea. Everyone in the room scrambled out the room, but he seemed too preoccupied with drinking to answer the headmaster. Mr. Principle sighed. "To think you are in the administration..." Soon, he too went out the room, leaving Kenobi-sensei alone in the room.

Kenobi-sensei lightly placed his cup on the table. He took out his pocket watch and flipped it open. He smiled and closed it. "Plenty of time." Finally, the Level 5 teacher rose and prepared himself for the event he had participated for five years in succession.

PROLOGUE

7 in the morning

It has been five months since I became Level 5; Absolute Zero huh? Blood and cold did pay off, now for the main course. Hybrid Academy....I've been chosen to be part of this type of high school. I bet there aren't many boys nor girls, it's too tedious to mingle with complexity. Ria in the subway making her way to school.

Walking through the alleys of a subway, a lone figure, carrying a scythe wrapped in clothes over her shoulder, made her way to the next subway stop. It was really troublesome, since the pay of a teacher didn't actually leave her enough to buy a car of her own, at least not yet. The sole sight of her could send a chill down the spine of anyone. Not only did the weapon she was carrying looked deadly, but the fact that her skin was blue also creeped people out as she passed by them. The woman paid them no mind, though. "Where is it again? I should get the principal to come get me one of these days." She sighed with exhasperation.

Even if I'm a Level 5 Cryomaster, I happen to be one of the most ironic people here in Academy City, getting my own medicine of a chill through my spine. "Oi.....Bukimina-ao Onna(Blue creep woman) what are are you doing? You're scaring people." Ria shows her concern and curiosity but in a cold way as grade schooler kids were somehow distaste with her sight and scared. By that logic, she sees her as a threat but no, analysis comes first.

Kae continued on walking, even after hearing someone shouting. It wasn't until much later that she actually took up the insult thrown at her. "Ah, she was talking about me." Turning her head around and her neck bending in an almost unnatural way, Kae turned to see her agressor. After seeing it was but a brat, Kae couldn't hold in how funny she thought it was. "Pfffftt..." Escaped her lips, before she continued on with her way, searching for where the subway would stop next.

Ria thought to herself, should she follow or should she not? Either way, it's none of her business. Suddenly!

Streets

In the streets just nearby the train station in a seemingly dark alley, a gathering of level 0's who are up to no good is picking on a group of defenseless middle schooler girls. "You got nowhere to run girls, you got nowhere to run. Now do us a favor and give us your money or we're not gonna give you one hell of a ride in our car." They threaten. They call themselves the Akuran Gang, notorious level 0's who offers services of selling illegal drugs and giving car rides for guilty pleasures and whatnot. They have been at it for almost 5 years.

Ria rushes to the scene and halt them. "Relax boys" She throws rocks on them.

"Another girl, lucky for you, we always wanted to invite beautiful young ladies like you and to think you have the guts to throw rocks on us, you're something else. Boys! get ready we're gonna take her on. How about a ride ha?"

Hearing the ruckus going on outside, Kae decides to go check up on what's happening. After arriving to the scen, she merely found a group of thugs trying to mug some middle schoolers. It was truly pathetic. Kae would have done something, just for the sake of appearances, to help them, when the bratty brat from before showed up and decided to stand up for them. Blending in with the darkness perfectly thanks to her scythe, Kae watches everything unfold, judging whther or not she should help.

"GGGYYYAAHHHH!!!" One of the mugglers put Ria against the wall, getting a hold of her in an instant. She herself is calm. "What's wrong kid? Got nothin'? Why no struggle?" The muggler harrassing her and to those who passes by, these people can't even do anything than just be cowards.

Seeing her getting beaten up but still calm makes Kae still her sword, err, scythe. Still, they might indeed be a bit too much for a single girl to handle. As in with a comedy show, her scythe suddenly appears from the shadows and drags one of the muggers alongside her into the shadows, no one noticing at all when he disappeared.

She turns her attention, calm as ever. "Bukimina ao Onna... " She stares nonchalantly with a hilarious expression and casually said. "Go away, I don't need your help." Just like that then the mugglers mock. "OOHH!! You really want it do you? OH you're asking for it." Ria isn't phased by their idiocy. The middle schoolers were shouting in fear to why Ria just blew it.

"Oh, is that so?" Kae said, still blending in with the shadows and invisible to the naked eye. A single hand comes out and leaves the thug unconscious in the floor. "Then I'll be taking my leave." She says, but even though she says so, she does not really move, merely using the shadows as an illusion to make it seem as if she had already left.

"You just blew your chance of help. Well.. well round em' boys. We're gonna have one hell of a ride!BBRRRRR.... It's getting cold here. Is the weather forecast punking on us?" He said but one of the mugglers looked frightened thinking that Ria took down their friend. "What a waste."

"Relax boys." Ria froze one of them like he is stuck in ice but it wouldn't last for long as the water content on the pavement is not enough so what Ria actually did was make him feel all chill and the guy's appearance was so pale and filled with little chunks of mini ice shards.

They still showed no fear, "An Esper huh? This will be good. Boys.. don't hold back." Their boss said. One tried attacking Ria. She then freeze the wet pavement and make it so slippery as the guy got trolled and hit his head on the floor the impact was hard its because he rushed at her.

"Two down! one to go, let go of the girl." Ria was acting all hero but then the guy rushed and punched Ria on her face, putting her on the ground.

"You got the nerve! Is that all you got? because we're not letting them go!" And in that instant, a scythe posed itself on the guys neck, without the cloths on, the sharp blade made some blood come out of the guy's neck.

"I see... And what if I ask nicely? I can give you something in return. Like, going back to your house with your head still attached to your body." Kae said, threatening the guy.

"Ha! We're not falling for that trick you creep!" The guy is bleeding but he still took it like a boss. "We'r---OOWWHH!!" His lower half of his body got frozen.

Situations like this makes her not satisfied. Ria gets up and suddenly... SHE STRIPS!!!
"You wanna know what I've got. Here's what I've got." But sadly it was an ice clone.

"You know. I'm not stupid enough to jump on scenarios like this. Even I have contingency plan. You guys aren't cool at all. Seriously, picking up defenseless girls? How extremely low of you and you call yourselves drug dealers... ha... perfect because you're smoking nonsense." Ria mocks. One of the guys.. "WHY YOU!!---" He was instantly frozen solid like sculpture.

The rest of his boys started running away while the boss is the only one left. "And the party don't start till I walk in?" She said.

"D-DON'T TELL ME!. Yo--." Ria stripped for real this time. He unfroze his lower part. Stripping wasn't just for show. It got the leader's lust frozen as in he just stared at her nice body figure while Ria runs to him and gives him a kick to his crotch and freeze his chest thus sending a freeze to his body. "GGRRRZZZZZ.... A..a.a....a.a...a.a... IMMMPPOSSSIIBBBLLEE... DDD-DDDON'T T-tteell MMemzmzmzmmeme Yoou --yyouu aareee..." He can't continue because he notices the alley was covered in thick layers of ice and snow. Only one person can do that...

She smiled sarcastically. "Sorry for the shocking image. I'm Absolute Zero, nice to meet you."

Ria's stripping habit gained a raised eyebrow, but nothing more. Even after she was all done and Kae has taken her scythe back, Kae's eyes were glued to her chest. Staring, staring..... "Pffttt." She let out, mocking Ria's unexistant breasts. "This isn't even worth commenting on. I shall see you later, miss Level 5." Kae said, before disappearing for real this time in the shadows.

And in that same moment, a single agent of Judgement arrived, with white hair and pink eyes. "Freeze! Judgement desu no has arrived!" Noboyuki made his entrance. Still, he didn't think the thugs would take it that literally, his, freeze. "Wha.... I didn't even get some action." He lamented.

"Tch.." She crosses her arms after the creepy blue woman disappeared and at the same time she was startled by the guy popping out of nowhere so she froze his lower half as well in ice. The thugs were nodding their heads and take the freeze pun literally. "Ouuu......." She stares at the guy. "Yuki-kun huh?" She recognizes the Judgement member. "Long time no see. You're half the man I used to know." She said it seriously, comically seriously.

"Hey, what the hell!? I'm with the good guys, you idiot!" He barked back. "And don't call me so casually by my first name! I'm in duty right now!" Still, the pun about the half man.... it was plain terrible, horrible. At least, for anyone in his actual position. "And who's fault do you think it is, idiot!? Hurry up and undo this!" And suddenly, his maso side comes out to shine. "Or, ya know what... leave it there for a bit more. It's starting to feel good. I feel like I'm getting frostbite."

She smirked and unfroze him. "We're late for school. Go and put some pants on, you have no pants and underwear." That's what happens for doing such a strong freeze. If clothes or any object or person becomes solidified, they get broken to pieces and will be gone alongside the ice, that is the power of Absolute Zero. "Put some clothes on, Mr. Exhibitionist."

"I don't wanna hear that from you! Goddammit, can't you be more careful?" Noboyuki said, while he started getting up and started running full speed back to his house. Still... "I could get used to this, though." He sais, with an slightly satisfied look in his face.

"No...no.." He froze him solid again. This time Ria took her time to get dressed up and unfroze him. "Here you can wear this thug's clothes."

"All right, all right." He snatches away the pants of one guy. He wasn't about to wear their underwear, though. "This much is fine, I'll get something on school. C'mon, we gonna get late if you continue playing around." Noboyuki scolds her and this time starts making his way to school for real, hoping Ria will not interrupt him again.

The first thought on Ria's mind,"My.... breaking rules already on the first day? sheesh! it doesn't get any cooler than this well I did save that girl. Only save her because she's one of my types." That's for the girls though.

Then the girl was beside her, "Onee-chan! here is your ticket! Mama and Papa could at least repay you for your heroic action in saving me!, what's your name?."

Ria was so happy to get a free ticket and she doesn't have to waste money. "Absolute Zero is my name."

The crowd started hearing her name and they were like. "Level 5??!?!?!!"

Ria runs quickly with her friend.

My life really gets cooler and better, a cute doll girl and a free ride, I should be at ease,hmmmm......"

Few minutes later they arrives at the school, she first made her way to the registration room and show her application and then she heads to the school hall where the Ceremony is going to be held, "I guess I'm too early, I'll just chill around here."
Ria with all the time she has, she might as well take a tour but instead she decided to sit down on one of the seats near her.

Tsumiki looked extremely relaxed, feet propped on the seat in front of him and leaning back in his chair. He deftly turned a coin between his fingers, only pausing for a moment when a familiar presence seated herself next to him.

"I was begining to worry about you, Frosty. What, did you get caught up in another petty squabble?" He flipped the coin from one hand to the other and continued playing with it. with his free hand, he patted Ria on the shoulder.

"You know, you really should leave criminals to Judgement. That's kinda what we're here for. If I had any proof of your vigilante tendencies, I'd be forced to give you an official reprimand." He stopped moving the coin again, catching it between his thumb and forefinger. He seemed to concentrate on it for a second, then dropped it into his palm. "Nope, still nothing."

He kicked his feet up and put them on the floor, leaning forward so his elbows rested on his knees. "You could just join Judgement you know."

The phone beeped, signalling the end of the morning's disturbance. With a relieved sigh, Satou Wataru unpinned the striped band from his arm and sent a quick confirmation to the Hybrid Academy Judgment office; it had been a bit far afield for him anyway, and the intervention of a co-worker has saved him the hassle. He paused for a moment as a gaggle of girls passed behind him, heading through the Academy's main entrance toward the main hall; for a moment he almost hid himself out of habit... He sighed deeply, squared his shoulders and followed on behind toward the growing crowd registering for their first day.

It didn't take long to get his paperwork in order, rather faster than some of the others he noted; whether that was because of his clean record or the reference Judgement had provided was unclear. Didn't matter. More importantly, he could feel the strength of the local AIM field growing as he passed into the main hall; only a few dozen had arrived so far, alone or in small groups. But there was a certain disparity in power, fountains of energy flowing more heavily from some than others... One in particular drew his attention and the colour drained from Wataru's face as he recognised the iconic cryokinetic Tsurura. To hell with that, he thought flatly, taking a seat on the other side of the hall. The last thing he wanted was to get tangled up with a Level 5 on the first day. Instead he rummaged though his bag, surreptitiously producing a set of knitting needles and yarn, warping their appearance into a book almost without thought. Wataru had found his ability very useful in hiding his rather unmanly hobbies so far, even if it did mean that he couldn't see what he was actually doing...

Ray sat upon the slightly uncomfortable seat inside the Ceremony Hall. Fortunately, he had no problem with the seat, he was a none complacent guy, it would be illogical to complain. If anyone here is illogical, it's you. "Your me, would you not be the illogical one?" he said angrily at his conscious. You would not understand, you should see how people view you. Ray sighed, he did not want to end up in another useless argument with his conscious at the moment. This was supposed to be a momentous occasion, he was not gonna mess it up with useless conversations in his head. Ray sat with his eyes closed and his arms crossed, doing his best to meditate the voice away. Unfortunately that was not exactly working for him.

Ray's opened his eyes when another group walked in. He watched the group walk into the Ceremony hall, but showed little interest to there conversation. He heard words like Judgement thrown around in the conversation. He gave a sideways glance at the green and white band on his bicep. Ray shook his head, he knew it was unusual for and Magician like himself to be in such a group, but he could handle himself just fine. Ray could immediately tell that they were Espers, a group that he did not feel like messing with, that would have been illogical. Not associating with Espers because you are afraid, that's illogical. Ray chuckled, this conscious thing was getting annoying very quickly. He recognized the woman as Absolute Zero, a level 5, which was impressive.

"I wonder when the people will really start to arrive." He mumbled to himself. He then noticed another kid, this one seemed unusually nervous. He raised an eyebrow at the his expression, he had probably noticed the level 5. A reaction like that is stupid and illogical, it's only fear of the unknown. "We all fear the unknown." He mumbled despondently. We would be in a much better place without it. Ray smiled, that was the first time his conscious ever really responded in a way he actually agreed with.

Anderson walked in, smug and well-groomed as usual. He looked over at Judgement student and gave an evil smirk, receiving an angry growl back. While it was common knowledge that Anderson wasn't just his looks, most people din't know past that and those who did had a tendency of not talking about it.

To him, information was power, the power to bend the will of even the strongest men. Something he did when he first arrived in the city, he blackmailed and bribed enough people in power to make he nearly untouchable, not even Judgement or Anti-Skill could go after him. His plans had proceed smoothly, but too slow for his tastes.

Screw it he thought to himself as he took notice of black haired boy and (after he took a look in one of his many small books) recognized the boy as Ray, First catch of the day.

He walks over over with long strides and taps the Magician's shoulder, "Want to play a game?"

Kazeno had been busily making eddies with his power, not much else to do. Nobody came to him and he didn't feel like seeking anyone out. He spread his body over several chairs and looked up. He had the urge to kill a bunny for some reason
Chi Ni, stop it.
"Stop what?~"
Trying to get to kill something.
"I'm not put those thought into you, they were already there, I'm just showing them to you."
Chi Ni, do me a favor and shut up.

Kazeno put his headphones on as the electronic music began to flow. Eventually either Chi Ni's voice was blocked out or she stopped talking, either way, just fine by Kazeno's standards.

"Wanna play a game."

Ray raised his eyebrow to that question. It was one that he unfortunately, did not here alot. Ray felt a bit uncomfortable around the student, it was not that the student was intimidating, that would have been illogical. But it was the question itself, Ray could not just accept to play a game with a student he had never met before, it would have been illogical. You need to make friends, you know. Friends? Even if Ray wanted to make friends, it would defiantly not be with this slick back grease head.

Was that and insult, because I don't hear you saying to his face? Ray wanted to smack his head, this conscious had a mouth on it. This is one of the reasons why you don't have any friends. "Maybe is cause I'm always arguing with you." He said angrily under his breath. Ray had to make a descion, would he accept, or would he deny. He could possibly make a friend, or get himself in trouble in the possess, not exactly and outcome he was looking for.

"Alright, I'll play a game with you." Ray said as he stood up to get a better look at the student. The guy was as tall as Ray was, he kind of reminded him of those leather jacket guys from the 50s. Ray hoped that this guy's game would at least be logical, not some stupid illogical crap that kids did now adays. And you wonder why your mother encouraged you to join Judgement.

Anderson smiled, easy bait, easy target, and easy money. He took out a deck of cards, "This game is simple, I want you to take a card from the top and shuffle it between all the others. Then I have to say a number and try to draw out that card in the number of turns I said. Simple right?"

Simple it seemed, but like everything Anderson did, there was a hidden side. Like all other games, there was a myriad amount of ways he could cheat. Deck modifying, keeping cards up his sleeve, see-through backing, Anderson could list an infinite number of ways to ensure he would always win, even without his incredible luck. Not that the other person had to know any of that.

Anderson took a seat next to the boy and grinned, he was getting to his favorite part of game, "Now, how much are you going to bet?"

Ray listened carefully to the student explanation of the game. In all truthfulness, it was a simple game, but he there was always a catch to these things. Ray was a logical thinker, by using logic, there was no hiding the fact that the student could cheat, or use other means to win. It was obvious when the man mentioned beting. Ray did not want to turn down the man's offer, he need to make friends, he also did not want to lose all his "money", or any of it.

Ray smiled and picked a card from the middle of the deck instead. "Alright, I'll take from the middle instead." He said plainly. He knew that choosing from the bottom meant nothing, but he would rather be on the "safe side". It was an Ace, a rare card in a deck, but the man could have chosen to jinx the deck. He then took the deck and shuffled the card himself, he slipped all the Ace's insides the back, into his sleeve. It would have been unnoticeable, even to a trained eye. He then gave the man back his cards. "I'll bet 7,000 Yen." He said sternly. It was about half of what he had on him in case. He placed the money in front and waited for the man to begin.

Anderson's smile faltered a bit, but he still kept his smile; usually fools would be more money on what seemed like good odds. There was only a 1 out 52 chance he'd get the right card, in theory. Anderson opened the deck of cards like a fan in hand and pulled out a card. The exact same card the other boy had chosen. He had used his years of gambling experience to deduce "rare" cards and kept them up his sleeve. He played dirty and expected others to do the same.
"That'll be 70,000 yen."

The other boy looked furious and confused. There should have no chance of Anderson getting that card, and since when did he multiple the bet by so much? He opened his mouth to speak but someone else beat him to it.

"I thought the bet was just 7,000" Kazeno walked over with the money in his hand, "You shouldn't cheat people, tends not to get you too far in life Blackjack."
"Really? I haven't cheated a day in my life and I say I've done pretty well, Twisted Fate.

Kazeno growled as Anderson took his money and walked away. With his power, he launched a card from his own deck at Anderson who caught the card going at impossible speeds with two fingers without looking back. Anderson tilted his head, his cocky smile still hanging, "You shouldn't try to hurt people all the time, tends not to get you too far in life."

Kazeno recalled his card and sighed taking a seat down next to the boy who Anderson just tried to cheat, "Hello, I'm Yamato Kazeno, pleased to be of you acquaintance."

Ray knew that there would only be on possible out come to this game. Loss. He was a logical thinker, it would have been highly illogical to think that even the the odds in his favor he would win against a conman. Fortunately, Ray had a trick up his own sleeve, he would leave this man with something that he would regret later. He fined anger when the man's choose the correct card. That was...an alright choice.

Unfortunately, Ray was surprised when the man wanted 7,000 instead if the original bet. He was about to smash him in the nose when one of his "friends" cut in. They ended up in an alteration that Ray really had not interest in. Apparently this man did that more than once in his life, which was of no surprise to Ray. He simply crossed his arm and went back to his original position.

He was surprised when the friends of the con man sat next to him. This could be a potential friend. Ray smiled and held his hand out for the student to shake. "The names Ray Mustang. Don't worry I'm not mad at your friend, any minute now he will realize that those bills I gave him are counterfeit, no one had four 2,000 Yen bills." He said the a slight chuckle.

Shizuka stood in front of Hybrid Academy with a mix of excitement and apprehension. Her invitation to this school was unusual at best. A few months ago, she was caught dabbling with Level Upper. Level Upper usage is handled by the authorities in a way that resembles a cross between drug possession, illegal music downloading and copyright infringement. Shizuka thought she was busted, that she would go the way of her brother and be forced to leave Academy City forever. Instead, after being detained for a few days, she had been given an acceptance letter and permission to continue doing what she was doing, with some discretion.

She took an extra long time filling out her paperwork. Most people tend to skim past the fine print, but Shizuka always read everything twice over just to make sure she understood what she was signing for. This was more out of a nervousness and paranoia rather than actually being a stickler. As she headed towards the hall where the ceremony would take place, she noticed the crowd get thicker, and the sound of conversation and shuffling feet overwhelmed her. She put on her headphones and listened to the static, white noise that comprised her current version of Level Upper. She could feel it synesthetically hypnotizing her brain to operate on a higher level. She wasn't sure where to take it from here; either she could modify it so that it creates an actual increase in power, or she could mimic the original and create an AIM dispersion field synchronization network and borrow the processing power of other Espers using the system. The latter would be easier to do but she would need other users; and to get other users, she would need permission from the school.

As the seats were filling up, Shizuka found an open seat in the middle of one of the rows and sandwiched herself down uncomfortably between two other students and waited for the ceremony to begin.

The seats were filling in, everyone was just about getting ready for the entrance ceremony, and meanwhile, Kae, was in her own office A.K.A. mad scientist laboratory. This time, though, she had run out of laboratory rats and could no longer go on with her experiments. If someone, like the appropriate authorities or the church, were to catch up with what she was doing, she would most probably be in jail. Or in another country, evading them. Not everyone saw human experimentation as something necessary for humanity, or necessary at all for that matter. "There must be something else about them that does not let me advance on my studies...." Kae is analyzing the data she gathered in her last experiment. Sadly, it was a failure. Thankfully, the test subjects last time were a group of Level 0 thugs she captured, so there wasn't much of a loss.

And of course, she did not kill them, but they might as well not be able to have powers ever in their life, or children. Immersed in her investigation, the sudden appearance of someone through the door made her turne her head away from her research papers. "Yes? Did you need anything?" She asks the lady standing in her door. She had straight hair and glasses over her eyes, almost like a generic secretary. She explained to Kae that she should be in the opening ceremony, no, that she must. And also, that she should take a bath. "All right, all right. Damned events and damned baths. They cannot have worse timing." She lets out a sigh, before standing up from her chair and walking to the shower incorporated to her office. It is more handy there than in her actual room.

After a quick shower and getting dressed up (with the same clothes as a while ago, nonetheless), she set out to the auditorium. In there she walked all the way to her seat on the stage. She wasn't going to talk in the podium, but she had to at least be there. She was going to be a homeroom teacher this time, after all, and God help her poor students, and may none of them have a slight genetic mutation, or they would become guinea pigs. Noticing some eyes posed over her, she calmly waved at them. "Hello." She simply said, as if she were toying with them.

Meanwhile, Noboyuki simply looked away from Ria's instant popularity. It was a shame that no one actually recognized him like, ever. "Damn Level 5 and damn Ria. Why can't she share some of that power with me?" He said to himself. He ached for another fight with Ria, where he would be dragged around mercilessly, and enjoy it all the while.

The one time he needed the support most, Ueno's best friend had betrayed him. Day after day he could rely on him, but now? He had fucked up. Had it been any other day, it could have been ok. But today? No, today was not the day for Mr. Alarm-clock to save Ueno from his sleep. He was barely able to shower and get his clothes on before he had to propel himself out through his rear-window. He didn't couldn't even take the luxury to yawn he was in such a rush.

As he flew throughout the air, Ueno was careful not to make too much of a ruckus. Getting written up or being attacked by anyone wouldn't make for a good late excuse.Had time not been of the essence, he would have taken some artistic liberties with his flight, in full view of any crowd he could, but today was not a day for tricks. So he flew quietly and tried to land on the least populated areas he could find once he reached his destination, which would actually be one of the roof-tops towards the back of the school. Once he could get himself onto ground-level, he booked it to the auditorium.

Once within the auditorium, Ueno looked around from within the doorway to see if there were any good open spots left for him. Even though the odds weren't great, he was able to spot one that was almost perfect. It was in the center when it came to columnar positioning, and was at the very left of the row. Had it been a few rows farther back it would have been perfect! But beggars can't be choosers. It was only when he sat down was he to find out why such a great spot was left open, the guy to his right smelt like shit. Like shiiiiiiiiit

"This is going to be so booooooooooring" Justeaze cried out as she walked towards the judgment office. She wasn't allowed her gun in the school building and she wasn't going to sneak it in as a member of judgment doing that would be bad form. Not to mention she had to sit through the dang entrance ceremony and she didn't have any of her experiments to keep her busy. Reaching her destination she quickly took off her judgment armband off and grabbed her hat before placing it carefully on her head before heading out to the ceremony. There was no way to skip it either she thought as she noticed the teachers posted at the corners of the room. Sighing to herself and resigning to her fate she grabbed a seat near the middle. "hey look isn't that Soyokaze?" she heard some random guys mention as they pointed to her and saying how cute she was in person compared to rumors. "stupid boys nothing but a unneeded hassle though on a added note why "soyokaze" why did they give me a nickname i'm no one special she thought.

Ria Tsurara|Absolute Zero

Keeping herself cool as the ice, "It's what you call common sense. Not vigilante. Just because there are laws, it doesn't mean it's absolute just like my epithet to being Absolute Zero; Science is a principle of theories vs laws, a theory can become a law once proven with valid evidence but over the course of time; Times change so does the world and everyone and everything in it like a butterfly out of its cocoon. As for joining JUDGEMENT. I rather not, no offense I don't play well with others but if you would like to play, I don't mind." Ria subtly being seductive as her AIM is secreting a bit, it is cold, her AIM fields are cold and then she stopped so that it won't raise attention.

Unnamed

Date: April 1st, 20XX
Time: Morning; ~7:40 am
Location: Hybrid Academy; Auditorium

The Nurse of the Academy was about to cut through the Auditorium to check the medical supplies in the east building when he found there may be a need to bring more than just first aid equipment in. Nurse just stood where he was, counting the every student but they were fine. "Thank Goodness.
________________________________________________________

"Finished." sighed Mr. Principle. "Good work all. Take a breather before the ceremony starts." Teachers everywhere dropped onto their chairs. Clearly most of them were past their time of prime and were not cut out to do such harsh manual labour. Kenobi Katamori, one of the fittest ones, did not contribute enough to the preparation effort, which only made it that much harder for the rest. Said teacher was already taking his break before the preparations were done!

"Nm. I'll let the others know we're ready." said Katamori. He got up and was about to go out to the door, Kiyoshi passes by him; Katamori said, "Kiyoshi, you handle this. I'll be watching the unveiling." He laughs sarcastically.

Kiyoshi on the other hand feels, "And here we go again, Kenobi and his infinite excuses." He rolls his eyes as he is about to make the speech and welcome everyone.

_________________________________________________________

As usual. The procedure of the curriculum and introductions; The Teacher, Kiyoshi will make his speech, the Principal remains hidden as always. JUDGEMENT members are to stand by his side but this time scattered. [b]"Everyone. Youth of all ages. My name is Kurogane Kiyoshi and welcome to Hybrid Academy. A new era welcomes all of us as magic and science are coming together:". Kiyoshi asks everyone to take out the application form and look at the following details.

Greetings. If you are Magician/Esper/Gemstone/Level 0-san, then you just got recruited to Hybrid Academy! You got in because you met certain prerequisites that our academy is looking for. We are honoured to accept your presence to our academy and to make sure everything goes out smoothly, we hope you can agree to these conditions:

☐ You agree that when you enter the school grounds, you did not bring with you any unauthorized weapons.
☐ You agree that you will not fight amongst other students, unless the fight has been authorized
☐ You agree to our pact to secretly. We would like our teaching methods to be hidden from the rest of the world, for your own safety and the school's.
☐ You agree that you will not abuse your powers with inappropriate manners.

Failure to meet these conditions will result you with dire consequences, including being expelled.

We hope that you will enjoy your time in Hybrid Academy and learn to reach the top.

Respectfully,

Mr. Principle

Mr.Principle
Headmaster of Hybrid Academy

He looks at them. "Very well. It is good that you have all agreed to our terms, rules, regulations and consideration. Let us sing our school's national anthem." Few minutes later then followed by the pledge.

7:50 AM

After that, Kiyoshi continued. "Once again, welcome to Hybrid Academy." His calm and stoic demeanor puts a chill to every girl thus gaining him some fangirls. Kurogane-sama! The hot sensei as well as the 11th Level 5, Emulator finishes the introductions.

"Alright people. As you can see JUDGEMENT have become the student body of our school. I am honored of their efforts of making Academy City free from crime. Furthermore; I proudly say that JUDGEMENT for the first time, our JUDGEMENT of this academy are the first to form the Student Council. I would also like to welcome, Ms. Hoshira Kae." He welcomes the teacher as she stands right beside him, some student started creeping out because of her appearance. "SILENCE!" Kiyoshi angered. "Do not make a fool out of her appearance, in return; you should look at the interior rather than the exterior. Ms. Hoshira here is the head of the Magic Department as well as our first Magician Teacher, she will assess/assists those who desire to learn magic and lessons as well." Calming down and continuing with the announcements.

Continue.. "I call upon JUDGEMENT members and present you Hybrid Academy's student council. The President, Mr. Tatsuya Tsumiki and the two Vice President, Mr. Yamato Kazeno, and Zentaro Ray. The rest of the JUDGEMENT please come forward. Oh and a fellow Level 5 like me and the iconic Level 5, Ms. Tsurara/Absolute Zero; I welcome her too." She's not part of JUDGEMENT but welcome her as well. Emulator and Absolute Zero, the two Level 5's of Hybrid Academy, Teacher and Student. Ria claimed herself, "This is embarrassing."

Seiji sighed as he sat in his seat, watching whatever shenanigans unfolded around him. Nobody had really noticed his presence, but that was fine- given the lack of sanity everyone seemed to have, it was probably better off that way. Mindlessly following along with the statements the people on stage were giving out, Seiji tapped his fingers on his lap impatiently. Though the introductions were all probably mandatory, the time it took to get through them seemed to be a lot longer than it should have been.

Oh well. That was probably due to his boredom, in all honesty. After transferring here as a complete nobody, it wasn't surprising to not be making any acquaintances- his relatively bland appearance didn't help matters much either. But the formalities continued on, no matter hoow useless they seemed to be. Oh, if only this thing could end sooner so he could get back to reading...

The thought of reading in the auditorium had obviously crossed his mind earlier, but that would be disrespectful and probably get him in some sort of trouble or, worse yet, get his novel confiscated. It wasn't worth the effort to retrieve the copy if that was the case, of course, so Seiji decided to just take this one head on. The coffee he had taken earlier that morning was just starting to kick in now, anyhow- what perfect timing that was.

Akira, who had been in his desk asleep the whole time, had jolted himself awake when the lady had started speaking. He paid as close attention as he could, but over all it was all he could do to keep his head up. He did look over the paper he was given thoroughly as possible, and took out a note pad to write down a set of notes for if/when he switched over to him. The notes were simple and to the point, and he made sure to make it extra clear that abuse of powers came with heavy consequences. Hopefully, the recipient of these notes will actually listen, though that was a hope that had very little evidence to back it up.

Akira raised his hand to cover his mouth as he yawned, giving a passing glance at the blue woman with some interest. She looked a little scary, but Akira was sure she was a nice person underneath the cool exterior. All people had to do was give her a chance, though if the reaction of some of the other students was anything to go on, that probably wasn't done that often.

'I'll go over and say hi after the Ceremony, if possible. It's always good to have a healthy relationship with one's teachers.'

As a male teacher whose name he had missed in his delirium called up members of Judgement, as well as level 5's, Akira was hit with another pang of longing.
Akira had wanted to be a part of Judgement ever since he'd first come to academy city, but with his. . . problem, he didn't want to risk hurting someone. Besides, that problem would probably cause him to be rejected as soon as he tried to apply. He was just too much of a hazard. And that desire also led to the reason he was tired this morning. He was kinda, sorta, possibly a vigliante, and he may have only had about, say, 2 hours of sleep due to being held up by a band of Akurans. They had been in the process of kidnapping some middle school age girls, he didn't even want to think about what for, when he had happened upon them on his way home. They weren't that strong, but their was a lot of them and as a Micro, he was good at long fights. He had made it through all right, but it had taken a while, as they seemed to have gotten reinforcements half way through.

And of course, when he went to go ask the girls if they were al right, they started screaming there heads off. Calming them down had taken about an hour, and had done a thorough job of killing his spirits. People were always disgusted by his ability, and nobody seemed to like his mask. He was currently thinking of upgrading it so that it could have a function besides hiding his identity as the 'Red Devil'. He wasn't going to change the look though, it was cool and he din't care what anybody said, even if it did make calming down victims a tad bit harder.

Anderson chuckled, he had plans to break every single one of those rules and get away with it. Information was power, and Anderson had already amassed a good deal of it. But he would probably have to break those rules if he wanted to get more in this school, he didn't have time conforming to hypocritical rules, he had an empire to build.

He patted the Beretta Raffica in its holster under his jacket and felt the combat butterfly knife in his sleeve. Sins were created to be made, he just made more of them. He panned his head around and saw the boy next to him fiddling with his fingers and a novel sticking out of his pocket. "Nice book you've got there, I've read it before, interesting book isn't it?"
The boy looked at him as Kazeno poned to the v=cover that was peaking out of the pocket, "If you want to read it, then do it. I won't snitch, I promise.
Anderson put on a smile as he reassured the boy, Service with a smile, he thought to himself.

When the teacher, Kurogane-sensei came to the podium to speak, Shizuka grabbed her face in embarrassment. "He's...so hot!" she thought to herself, I hope he's our homeroom teacher! Ah, but he's not going to pay any attention to a weird otaku girl like me. No! I'm not an otaku, I just have...different tastes..."

When Kurogane-sensei finished the first part of his speech and the fangirls started calling out his name, Shizuka kept quiet, as the sheer amount of rivals made her feel even more so that her chances were nigh impossible. When Hoshira-sensei was introduced, Shizuka was at first a bit repulsed by her strange skin color, but Kurogane-sensei reminded everyone to disregard outward appearances, which she took to heart, "That might mean that Sensei will look past my otaku tendencies!" Though back to the ceremony, Shizuka thought about how she felt about magic users, and came to the conclusion that unlike other people of Academy City, she had nothing against magic users, it was an unusual quirk of how her parents raised her, to tolerate people of faith, even if you might think they were irrational.

When members of Judgment were called up, Shizuka noticed that there were a lot of good looking boys, but when Ria was called up, Shizuka was reminded where she had heard Kurogane Kiyoshi before, as one of the Level 5's, few people hadn't heard his and Ria's names. Looking at Ria's cool elegance, Shizuka wondered if they could be friends. As a level 2, Shizuka had a strange mixture of jealousy and awe when she thought about level 5's, she assumed most of them were arrogant, but then again, they had a right to be. But she was sure they couldn't all be like that, and hoped Kurogane-sensei and Ria were not. Maybe if she 'Leveled Up', she could gain their respect, after all, that's what she was here for.

It wasn't long before the hall was full, dancing wells of power dotting the room. Reading AIM fields in depth was of course impossible without advanced machinery, but nevertheless Wataru could tell there were a lot of powerful espers here and others curiously empty, holes in the field. So called magicians, perhaps? The very idea was laughable, although he knew from Academy City's history that magic was fact. But that was rather the point of this... Hybrid Academy, yes? Or so he could assume; the details given so far had been vague at best. Finally teachers began to file in and take their places at the head of the hall, prompting Wataru to bag his half-knitted scarf and pay attention. The rules were... simple enough, perhaps deceptively so; maybe the school had a full set of rules elsewhere and those detailed on the paperwork were just the main four..? More likely they were to be considered conditions for entry rather than school rules, especially with that pact of secrecy... The hell kind of school needs an NDA? Another point drew a sardonic smile; the Headmaster's name, the Principal's name... was Principle. The poor bastard must have had a hell of a time growing up with a name like that. Wataru was so amused by this small thing that he almost missed Kurogane-sensei's shock announcement. Student... Coun...cil..? No JUDGEMENT member he spoke to had been made aware of this; how the hell could they expect them to just step in without any orientation? The teacher's summons left little room for his objections though and he braced himself while walking to the front of the hall. If he had to do this shit on top of his JUDGEMENT work, then by God he would look the part. The other junior members, now Student Councillors, lined up with him at the base of the teacher's lectern; their expressions varied from confused glee to outright terror. Determined to show what he and his compatriots were capable of, Wataru stood sharply to attention, his chin up and hands joined behind his back. The advantage of that was that his gaze sailed uninterrupted over the massed student body before him, not meeting the gaze of any of the disturbingly large number of nutjob-looking types present... He suppressed a deep sigh; the newly promoted Student Council President was in for a tough year by all accounts.
