July 8th, 2029, about seven years after the First Paranormal War, humanity thought it was all over. That notion was immediately proven wrong. It became apparent that there were different paranormal factions. This time, the paranormal threat originates from our very backyard in the Earth’s oceans! A new evolution of evil finally showed itself after many cruise liners, naval ships, and even commerce transports sunk to the bottom in matter of hours! The economy was threatened and without access to the seas, civilization would become strained! With the new paranormal threat brought to the attention of the UN, it was finally time to call upon the right men and women for the job. Mankind must once again band together to fight them and to turn the tables on the Second Paranormal War!

As GM, I present to you...ParaCom: Horror under the Sea!

Here will be our OOC posts. Feel free to post up to three characters per player using the sheet as a template.

USEFUL RP NEWS AND NOTES:

*Those who sign up before official RP posts: automatically promoted to Squaddie.

*Derpestein is our co-GM. His role is ported to the sequel from last times.

*Remember: ANYONE CAN DIE!

*The RP will still be open for new sign ups after the official posts are deployed.

*Veteran bonus: Any previous player of ParaCom: Adversary Uncertain or its expansion can port any of their surviving characters here. As a reward, they’ll be a colonel.

*All reviewed and approved CS's go to the Characters tab. Everyone else post your CS in the OOC so the GM and/or co-GM can review it.

Before we start, I'll post official rules so we can all enjoy the RP.

1.) No power gaming or "god modding" because we want a modicum of logic.
2.) Game play and story will be integrated, so let's not try to break either one.
3.) No auto-hitting or called hits so we can be fair. This describes a fighting action whereby a character is attacking another character and ASSUMES to have hit them without the other characters response being considered.
4.) Have fun during the RP!
5.) Combat will also be similar to the XCOM games with also a dice system. As a GM, I will use tons of mathematics to decide outcomes.

Reviewing. Looks good actually. I can see him being a slow but powerful unit. My reasoning is that unless he is strong enough to lug all his equipment, I believe the weight can slow him down. You also thought ahead as snipers are vulnerable in close quarters. Reading the other sections, you went whole hog above and beyond. Excellent! I look forward to seeing you in the field. You have full permission to port it to the characters tab.

I was also considering adjusting the difficulty of this RP. I have five difficulty levels available. From easiest to hardest: Beginner, Experienced, Veteran, Genius, and Superhuman. Beginner is the baby mode and experienced is the relaxed mode. Veteran intends to be challenging but fair. Genius is designed for those who already played XCOM-like games and seasoned RP'ers. Superhuman is the difficulty for those who enjoy suffering.

I'll leave it up to everyone for votes.

Permission granted. Tiffany can be a medic in the infirmary. Milo would be a Colonel for sure.

Another sniper? Thankfully Cho has another speciality under his belt otherwise I'd have retooled him as something else. Might consider removing the sniper part though, if Milo wants to be top shot.
