If you really think anyone in Scotland would willingly be apart of the united states of Yankdom you're in for something else. You'd need to have a referendum to seperate Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales from England, all of which won't pass. We already had a referendum this year and the majority of people said they'd want to stay with England.

I think if the postal vote had been later it would have been a different outcome. Not to mention now SNP is going to end up with a majority so I guess we'll get the influence we need after the campaign promises weren't met.

True, 45 percent wanted Scotland independence. Still, that is 9 people out of 20 that wants independence even that Scotland was absorbed into the union of 1707 with Queen Anne. America had a civil war, but your not going to get 9 out of 20 people from Alabama say they want to be independent. The United Kingdom looks a little weak to me!

Yeah but that's because it's not a different country with a massively different culture and a government that largely did nothing for Scotland until the Scottish parliament came about. The fact of the matter is that England will never become a part of America. It's just not going to happen. In fact, the only forseeable way it could happen would be through conquest, which America probably isn't stupid enough to do considering Russia are headhunting for them.

Why would we need to conquer Britain? It's already ours economically, a military battle would be a waste of money.

America is less Genghis Khan and more Borg. We aren't really warriors, we just don't got the heart for it. What we do is assimilate. If you allow us to give you blue jeans and the Simpsons, it is done and you are one of us.

We're a military-industrial nation, which isn't the same as a warrior nation. What I mean is we have a much more awkward relationship with war than your traditional warrior nation should. We're uncomfortable with the idea that we achieve things militarily. It's a trait we got from our British heritage really. We'll find excuses and fight our wars, but the concept of war itself is something we somehow look down on as base and lawless. Anglo-culture is the one that invented the hippy, for instance. That's not a trait you see in places like Ancient Rome or Japan.

And what I am saying is that you already handed yourself over. It is done. The days of Rule Britannia are over and replaced with the days of "America, what are we going to do today?"
