Love always finds a way

Adelisa plastered a smile on her face when her mother came through the door. She didn't hate her mother, but they got into yet another fight about Adelisa wanting to explore the town. It was hard for Adelisa to stay in one place for too long, but she had done it for 18 years and she supposed she could do it for 1 more until she finally had the courage to move out. Her mother said "oh, Dela! It's your shift! And you're not even ready yet?!"

Adelisa looked down at her clothing, she was adorned in a smock over her black Punk Alice shirt and black skinny jeans. She gave her mother a confused look and her mother said "oh, you… you are ready…" Mother sighed- "why can't you dress like a normal girl? Why do you always have to wear dark eyeliner and black lipstick? Why can't you wear pretty colors like pink or purple?" Adelisa rolled her eyes and said "I'm not a Disney character, mom. I'm not interested in that crap." Adelisa moved past her mother, her combat boots clacking on the ground as she moved toward the stairs to the salon.

The sound of two motorcycles revving in the middle of the town could be heard echoing off the buildings. Two motorcyclists were next to eachother, one was a middle aged man wearing a helmet. The other was a teen girl without a helmet, her bright red hair pulled up in a ponytail as she smirked at the man besides her. They both turned towards the light as some people on the street stared at them like they were insane, other people lined the streets. The people lining the streets were the people who knew that this race was happening. The two motorcyclists would probably get into trouble with the police but they couldn't care less. They both lived for adrenaline.

Fin put on her sunglasses, revving her engine one more time.. then the light turned green. Her and her competitor took off both of them gaining speed as the weaved through the traffic coming from both directions. There was a set finish line all the way on the opposite side of the town and neither of them wanted to loose. Over time Fin began to gain the lead, her motorcycle being able to reach higher speeds than her competitors. Eventually she passed the finish line, and that's when the sirens could be heard. Fin took off and went into alleyways using them to get all the way back to a secret bar under an abandoned apartment complex. She hoped off her motorcycle and covered it with a dirty tarp that helped it blend into it's surroundings. Fin then headed down stairs removing her black leather jacket and throwing it over a coat rack revealing her black halter top that showed off the top bird of her tattoo along with part of her stomach. The top was paired with some jean shorts and black heeled cargo boots. Fin walked over to the bar and sat in the middle of some guys in their late 20s. She drank a beer and they talked about her race, the whole time she just smirked and listened only commenting when necessary.

Jazzy was sitting on the roof of the high school watching everyone move on with there own lives. She did not have very many friends so did not know what it was like to always have something to do. Usually she stayed home trying to raise her younger brothers since her mother and "sperm donor" do such a wonderful job at that.

She wondered what she should do. Sitting there was not going to keep her from the lingering thoughts of her home life. She climbed down off the school and began wandering the streets. She was wondering if out here she could even find happiness for herself. She always saw things fail and crumble around her...but she never seen anything actually work out like they do in those fairy tails.

Ali was trying to figure out this skateboard thing. Sure, he could ride it up and down the street just fine, and it did make getting to classes from his house loads easier already, but he couldn't seem to manage even a single trick on it reliably. Not even the basics! I've had this thing for a good couple of months already and I still suck! What's wrong with me? He growled a bit as he stared down at it with a hand running through the mop of hazel brown hair on his head, recently messed up just right now that he had finished his classes for the day. He would have had another, but the professor for his other class for the day had canceled, leaving him with an extra few hours he hadn't planned for in the slightest.

Which was what led him to the currently empty skate park just a little ways off campus. It was a little surprising to him how unoccupied it was at the moment, but after the multiple failures he had already gone through, he couldn't be happier about the lack of activity all of a sudden. At least nobody would see him fall on his backside enough times for a comedy montage. The only downside was that he couldn't beg ask anyone better for help.

...Although, there was also the chance of being ridiculed for that as well...maybe this was better.

At least he had some bandages in his bag-- "Aw, heck! Did I forget to move them back to this bag?" He shifted through the black backpack he had pulled off the wall nearby for another second and groaned. He had started carrying them after another skateboard incident a while back, but figured he must have forgotten to put the container back after the last time he used one. He had actually just done something stupid while he was still at home that time, so they were probably on his desk...and not where he needed them.

Pouting a bit, he closed the bag and went back to the board again. Ah, well. Could be worse. I'll just have to deal with whatever other bumps and bruises I get until I get home. Maybe sneak through the back as well when I get there if I end up with a lot...

For now, let's try that Ollie again!

Landon Reed

Landon heard the police sirens going off as he walked down the street, but that wasn't anything new. This city was known for their crime rates, especially in this part of town. Not really caring about what was going on, he covered his ears in attempt to muffle the loud sound and continued on his way. He walked to an abandoned apartment complex that was actually a bar, a place he has been going to since he was about 15 to get away from his home and father.

As he entered the bar, he noticed a girl- a pretty, young thing with her fiery red hair and strikingly gorgeous body. She was talking to a bunch of sleaze-balls. By the look of their faces, he knew they were going to try to do something to her. Maybe she could take care of herself, but Landon was in a chivalrous mood and the girl looked too young for him to let things happen; she might get hurt or worse. He walked over to the girl, placed an arm around her and glared at the two guys next to her.

That was enough to make them scatter. Landon took the seat that was now available next to the girl and ordered a beer. While he waited, he said to her, "I'm not even going to talk about how you seem way too young to be in a place like this, but a girl like you at least should be careful of who you acquaint yourself with. Now if you want to hit me for touching you without permission, go right ahead." He lifted both his arms up to show he meant no harm and that he was really okay with it if she wanted to hit him.

Liam Hamilton

Liam was done with his afternoon classes for the day and had to go to work. He hurried onto the bus and sighed in relief that he made it. The class was running a bit late and if he didn't get on this bus, he would be 10 minutes late to work. He relaxed and sat onto one of the available seats. He pulled out his flash cards and studied them until he reached his stop. There were not enough hours in a day for Liam so he needed to be as efficient as he can with his time.

Once he reached his destination, he got off the bus and sped-walked to a somewhat hipster coffee shop. It wasn't his cup of tea- or coffee- but they were hiring and the pay was good. He went to the break room and changed into his uniform before clocking in. His coworkers gave him polite hello's and he returned the favor, but that was as far as his work relationships went. He stood behind the cash register, ready to start taking some orders. He glanced around the shop; it was a busy day with people lined out to the door. "Well, better get started," he thought to himself and started helping out the first customer.

Fin scoffed at the guy who came over and helped her. "You obviously don't come here often. I'm a regular and all these idiots know better than to pull anything if they don't want there balls handed to them on a silver platter." Fin said glaring at the guy, yes she was tempted to punch him but she wasn't going to, yet.

Fin downed the rest of her beer and placed it on the counter turned and leaning her arms on the counter while staring sideways at the man who had just come over and 'helped' her. "Do you want something cause I can assure you that if you touch me again or try something you will not see the light of day again." she said, her face and voice both cold and emotionless. As she waited for him to reply she pulled a cigarette out of her pocket and lit it taking a drag of it.

Adelisa sighed while her mother was cutting a woman's hair. She looked outside with a sense of longing that she hadn't wanted to acknowledge. Her mother noticed the girl's look and rolled her eyes. Adelisa heard "Dela, could you please go wash the windows outside? When you're done, you can walk to three stores. Nothing more." Dela whipped around to face her mother, her eyes wide. "You mean it?" Her mother nodded and Dela instantly ran to grab the Windex and paper towels. A smile appeared on her face as she stepped out of the shop. Adelisa looked across the street to see a busy coffee shop.

She was slightly jealous of the freedom those people had. Her eyes wandered into the window and her eyes landed on some of the people working there. Feeling awkward, she turned back to the window and started cleaning.

Jazzy was walking down the street when she heard a skateboard crash nearby. She turned the corner to see a guy on the ground than searching threw his bag. She looked into her purse and found some gauze walking up to him. "Here. Looks like you need some." She said with a smile. Her voice was soft but not too soft he couldn't here. "I am a bit of a clutz too so dont worry. Happens to everyone." She said to see what he would say back. She looked up him and down seeing he was actually attractive making her blush softly.

Jeez. The girl had a mouth on her. All he was looking for was a simple thank you. "Listen, I've been going to this place while you probably were still in elementary school drawing with crayons. What is your problem? Got some unresolved daddy issues back home? You may act tough but acting like that is really going to bite you in the ass one day." he retorted, a bit annoyed at her rudeness.

After what felt like forever, his drink finally arrived and he gulped that down as fast as he could. Pretty or not, this girl gave him a major migraine. He wasn't scared of her. No, he kind of saw himself in her, back when he was around her age. She had the bad attitude and cold look in her eyes; it almost made him feel bad for her, just almost but not quite. Did she really think she could take him on? It offended him.

"And don't worry," he added without even glancing at her, after finishing his drink. "I'm not interested in rude, little girls."

Liam Hamilton

As Liam was cleaning one of the tables, he saw a girl across the street looking at him through the window. Well, she wasn't really looking at him in particular, but he still felt awkward. He could have sworn they had locked eyes for at least a second before she turned around and began cleaning a window of a hair salon. His heart was pounding for some reason after looking at her and he didn't know why. Never had he felt anything like this. He finished wiping down the table and went back to the counter to take more orders. However, he as a bit distracted which was unlike him.

The girl had a very unique look to her. It was hard to describe and very different from any other girl he has ever seen, but it was not like he disliked it or anything. He wanted to talk to her and meet her, but how? He couldn't just walk up to her. What would he even say?

His mind returned back to reality as one of the customers began to accuse him of not paying attention to their order. He apologized as politely as he could, but his heart wasn't into it at the moment. "Sorry, sir. So you wanted a small Hazelnut, right?" he said calmly. The customer grumbled back, "Yes."

Liam finished checking the customer out with minimal complaints and issues much to his relief. After he was done, he looked out the window to see the girl still out there. "Maybe one day..."

Ali looked up from yet another failure and lovely concrete burn to see an unfortunate witness to his gracelessness. The sudden appearance of the girl froze him in place for a few seconds while he felt the embarrassment threaten to suffocate him and drag him to the depths of the earth, but he snapped back to the present when he noticed the gauze in her hand. "Oh, uh..." He scrambled to his feet in an attempt to look a little less pathetic before placing a hand on the back of his head in what he hoped was a nonchalant manner. "Don't worry, it's not too bad. Me, clumsy? Nah, I'm just, uh..."

Pavement's cracked? Nah, this part's well maintained. Should have fallen over there, then it would have been more believable. Distraction? Yeah, but...what exactly? Can't keep her waiting...

"Ah, sand! That's it, I just wasn't careful about..." He trailed off in his lame excuse as he looked down and noticed the rather unfortunate lack of sand in this part of the park. Cheese and Snapple! Of course, this is the one time I go to a skate park and find it actually well-maintained! Resisting the urge to sigh loudly, he gave a nervous chuckle that quickly turned to a wince at the abrasions from falling so many times. Reluctantly, he accepted the gauze with a sheepish expression. "Yeah, I guess I'm not too graceful after all. I'd like to say it's just this one and make up for it with a cooler trick, but I think I'll lose the rest of the skin on my elbows and knees if I try." Walking over to one of the low walls and sitting again, he started wrapping his injuries before speaking up again in an attempt to distract from his previous mess-up. "So...is the gauze a precaution for your own klutzy moments, or am I just really lucky? Either way, I guess I should be grateful, huh?"

Adelisa looked over her shoulder at the cafe and noticed a guy looking at her. A small blush appeared on her cheeks and she looked back at her mother, who was not even paying attention to her. She looked back at the coffee shop and took in a deep breath before putting her stuff down, checking on her mother, and walking across the street to the shop. It was a slightly long line, but Adelisa didn't care. She was finally going to be able to see what all the fuss was about.

She slowly made her way to the third spot in line and noticed the guy who was staring at her through the window was at the cash register. She looked down at her toes and blushed slightly.

Fin cocked her eyebrow at him while smirking. "I'm pretty sure you are just talking about yourself right now. I bet you have daddy issues. It probably would explain why you would call me a little girl when I can barely be a few years younger than you." Fin put the cigarette out and kept smirking at him. "I don't act tough, if you knew me you'd know I can't act for shit. I just am tough, it's just who I am." Fin wasn't even fazed by anything he said. She didn't give a crap about what anyone said about her. It's just who she was.

Jazzy smiled when he asked what it was for. "Well actaully I am basically raising my little brothers and they like to try crazy stunts and get hurt." She said as she sat down next to him looking over his scrapes. "You should just keep them clean and it will be fine." She said giggling as she smiled up at him. "Practice makes perfect after all." She said tilting her head holding out her hand. "Names Jazzy." She said wondering why she was being so bold with a stranger.

Her pretty face and youth did not make up for her bad personality. And she was a little girl. Four years may not seem like a huge difference most of the time, but it pretty much is a wide gap especially in terms of legality when one is 17 and the other person is 21. He kept that argument to himself though. Landon decided to simply ignore her and ordered another round of drinks. He checked the clock for the time, not that it mattered, he had nowhere to be anyways. His drink arrived and not a moment too soon as he was starting to have a migraine. He really regretted trying to be a nice guy. "You were right for once, Dad. Never try to do anything good for a woman."

Liam Hamilton

Liam continued on with work, helping one customer at a time as usual. The line was really long, but he managed to work efficiently. His main concern was whether the drinks would take long or not, but that wasn't his job, at least at the moment.

"Hello, how may I help you?" he said, trying to sound more cheerful as his coworkers complained to him many times that he was too stiff. He looked at the customer in front of him and almost had a panic attack. It was the girl from across the street who was cleaning the windows. He took a deep breath to calm himself down.

He was wearing his uniform with an apron and a name tag on it; not that he actually believed she would bother remembering his name or anything. He nervously glanced over to the side, before forcing himself to look at her face and give her a smile that was hopefully not too plastic-looking. He waited anxiously for her order.

Adelisa stepped up to the counter and a blush lit her cheeks, but she cleared her throat nervously and said "h-hello, um…" she looked at his name tag and smiled softly. Liam? Seemed like a fitting name she thought as she looked back up at him and said "Liam. I was wondering if you served iced coffee? I mean, you're a coffee a shop right? So you'vw got to serve iced coffee. That was a stupid question, really. I'm sorry. I'm taking up the line with my rambling. I'll take an iced coffee." She blushed and looked down at the counter as if she were intensely looking at the design.

She glanced back up at him and internally sighed. Good going, Dela. You just had to embarrass yourself with a stupid question. He probably thinks you're stupid now she thought.

"I'm...ah...Al...yeah, Al is fine." He accepted her hand and gave it a shake. The name she gave made it impossible not to grin just a little. Jazzy...it was cute. It sounded energetic and maybe a little quirky, but maybe in an endearing way. He couldn't tell whether it was her given name, but it seemed more likely that she had chosen it herself. Kinda like the names he usually went by, actually. Heh, something in common, maybe. Who knew? "So...little brothers, huh? I bet that gets interesting. Can't say I really know what that's like, having younger siblings. I'm sure I'd be fine with them, teaching them all kinds of cool things and all, but it just never happened with my family. No big deal, though." Finishing up with the gauze, he handed back the remaining material. "Hey, thanks again. And thanks to your brothers, too. I guess I owe you all one."

Jazzy smiled brightly at him. "Yeah my little brothers need me to show them my mom's not the best role model." She said as she watched him wondering what he was thinking about. He seemed to be in a much better mood than she expected him to be because of his fall. She thought he would at least be embarrassed. He seemed to be a little but not not enough. "No problem about it. I am always able to help when I can." She said pulling out a piece of paper and pen out of her purse writing down her phone. "Its a cheap phone my friend gave me so I cant send pics but I can text." She said handing him the piece of paper blushing. She had never done something like this before.

The boy blinked. Did that actually just happen? Did he actually get a phone number from a really cute girl? After making a complete fool of himself falling off his skateboard multiple times?

...I should have been more pathetic years ago, clearly. No, no, that's probably not the moral here.

Realizing that he had frozen in shock for a second and the sweet girl in question was probably still waiting for him to do something, he tried to shake away any other ridiculous thoughts before they could reach the forefront of his mind and happily accepted the paper. "Ah! I mean, yeah! Er, I mean..." Way to go, Romeo. I can see why she likes you. Al nearly facepalmed at his 'sudden eloquence' and looked away with a bright red face of his own. "I...I'll definitely send you a message. Or call, if you're available. Either way is good."

Liam watched the girl fumble over her words and could not help but think that she was really cute. Her nervousness also helped him feel a bit more relaxed; Maybe she was just as nervous as he was though he couldn't think of a reason of why that would be. He gave her a small, polite smile and said back her order, "One ice tea, that will be $3.25 please." He then collected the money and gave her back the change."Oh, and what is your name, Miss?" he asked, holding up a cup and a pen.

Jazzy smiled as she blushed when he was lost for words. "Great. I cant wait to hear from you." She said smiling as she wondered if she should be heading home soon or not. She would be stuck with the yelling and screaming. She rather hang out on the streets than head home. "So do you know anywhere around here people could hang out?" She asked looking around. "I am always trying to find a way to stay out of the house." She said smiling at him wondering what he would say.
