[IC] The Family That Slays Together [Reboot] [Family of Supernatural Hunters]

Damian suppressed a yawn trying to escape his throat as e walked along the moon-bathed docks. He looked down at his watch to see that it was now ten after midnight. Under most circumstance he was up for hunting all night, but after having to chase down a pack of helhounds for the better part of an afternoon he was exhausted. Still he didn't really have a choice in the matter, Mathias had gotten word of a small infestation of ghouls at the docks and had sent them to clean it up, and whatever Mathias said was law. He was more annoyed than worried about facing the ghouls. Even in groups of five they still only held an F class ranking on the Slayer's letter based classification system. Ghouls were like the rats of the supernatural world, annoying pest that had a tendency to bite and only posed a real threat in large groups.

He let out another yawn as he turned the corner and almost ran right into a slow moving blob, a Slime. "Oh you've got to be kidding me!" He sighed in exasperation. Slimes were even more hopeless than ghouls despite being official classified, many Slayers didn't even consider them a threat. They don't naturally reproduce but they usually just sort of happen when there's some sort of mass buildup of some supernatural substance like ectoplasm or miasma, but can also be artifically made by relatively easy alchemy or magic, so they showed no signs of ever going extinct. Still they were laughable as a threat, most are too dumb to even notice a prey is even there, or too slow to really do anything about them. They were kind of pathetic actually, basically the Magikarp of the supernatural world. Damian leaned down to eye level with the slime who was was making some sort of, what he guessed, was a sniffing motion. The thing was to busy looking around to notice that he was standing right in front of its face. "Wooooow you're dumb. I'm even more tired just watching you..." He looked past the slime to see a red door that led into one of the warehouses on the dock, the last area he had to search. "If they're here they've got to be in there." He muttered as he stood up again looking back at the slime. "I'll come back for you."

He pulled out his 1887 shotgun from it's holster and pushed open the red door slowly. He nearly dropped it when he saw the inside of the warehouse. From top to bottom practically standing on top of each other was a massive infestation of ghouls at least a hundred strong. Ghouls were a cakewalk in groups of five hell even ten weren't that tough for someone who wasn't a rookie. But a hundred, hungry ghouls? That was most definitely a problem. Damian slowly reached for the bluetooth headset in his ear that he and his siblings used to keep in contact on hunts. "So good news, I found the ghouls...Bad news, there's a whole lot of them. If you guys could hurry on over to the south side of the docks before they all start swarming on me that would be great."

Alexi chuckled. "What a Slime problem again, I thought you were stronger than that." She said, coming out of the coffee shop. "Don't worry I'll be on my way." She then got into her Subaru, sipping her coffee as she turned on the engine. She then took one last sip of her coffee and tossed it out of the window into the trash can and she sped off towards Southside Docks.

Not too far off from the docks Dimitri crouched on the beach and patted a patch of sand down firmly with his large hands. The slayer had more or less completed the rounds of his designated "sector" for the night and after sounding the all clear was taking the opportunity to get in some much needed training for his companion. The yound adult stood and walked a few yards away before whistling loudly and waiting for the telltale yips of the excitable ridgeback pup that came bounding up the beach towards him. He smiled for a moment as the dog ran in circles around his legs, but swiftly put an end to Brutus' antics with a snap of his fingers. The dog stopped almost immediately and sat at Dimitri's feet, awaiting the two words that accompanied his favorite game, "Brutus, search.". The dog was off like a rocket before Dimitri could even finish speaking, sniffing around the beach for signs of his target. It took a few minutes, but Brutus eventually located and dug up the first of seven sticks that Dimitri had wrapped in dried wendigo skin, much to the slayer's approval.

Brutus got as far as three sticks before Dimitri's bluetooth began to beep in his ear. Dimitri's hand shot up to the device and pressed it further into his ear as he listened to Damian mention his discovery of the ghouls. It wasn't very often that someone requested backup, even less so that a request was made for more than one person to arrive, "Now when you say a lot of them, how many ghouls are we talking here? ". Dimitri didn't bother to wait for answer before he spoke up again, "I'm in route now. Try not to get eaten before I get there." He grunted before taking his hand away from the bluetooth and whistling to catch Brutus' attention. The pup stopped sniffing away at the sand and looked up at Dimitri expectantly, "Looks like we'll have to come back for the rest next time. Come on boy, car.". A short bark of response and the pair were making a beeline for Dimitri's jeep which sit further up the beach. It didn't take long to reach, though getting the wiggling dog to sit still in the car long enough to safely pull his weapons from the back did take a bit longer than Dimitri would have liked, in the end though Dimitri was blazing his way up the beach with his weapons in the passenger seat, his dog in the back seat, and a have grin on his face.

Jack wandered the streets aimlessly, he had nowhere to go and was in no shape to fight Ghouls, his shirt was torn, he had multiple bleeding wounds and all that jack had was a farming sickle he found on the ground,

After a few aimless hours he saw a nightmarish creature(a ghoul), he was at first repulsed but when the creature looked at him, his heart did a flip, the creature lunged at him and jack raised the sickle which clawed its shoulder, it than turned around and bit jacks leg, he yelled in pain as he brought the sickle crashing down on the monsters jaw, it swerved around to bite his other arm which began to bleed horribly, jack swung the sickle in an arc that cut the creatures head clean off, making it fall from it's knawing grasp, jack had lost quite a bit of blood and collapsed to the floor, with the body of a decapitated ghoul at his side and a bloody sickle in his good hand.

"Understood Damian, ETA five to ten minutes. Don't start the party without us!" Krystoff had just been getting an espresso and chugged the scalding beverage. He'd been in a lot more pain if he wasn't properly caffeinated. He was glad he'd packed heavy for this hunt, including holy water grenades. They would come in handy for such a large group.

Pocketing his bluetooth, Krystoff slammed on his helmet and started up his motorcycle. It purred like a happy big cat, making the young man smile briefly. The satisfaction was short-lived as his mind went back to the task at hand. Revving the throttle a time or two, he released his brakes and was soon weaving between downtown traffic. He'd been waiting near the river for Damian's or Dimitri's call for backup, having already swept his usual hunting grounds.

Krystoff gave Alexi a cocky wave as he overtook her on the city streets. He could spot that suped-up Subaru from a mile away and hear it even better. The race was on! Krystoff activated the comms, not having heard everyone respond. "Has anyone heard from Jack? He went on a solo-hunt a couple hours ago and hasn't checked in!"

Alexi drifted to a stop and stepped out of her car, drawing her sword. She ran and jumped off of a bench, slashing a goul in half. "Miss me Damien?" she asked, putting her back against his. "Any Idea where they came from?' Alexi stood ready to strike.

David decided to drive to the south side of the docks to take out the ghouls. he called him and said "Im coming to the south side docks right now. I will be there soon!" He arrived there soon and loaded up his twin pistols. He walked silently looking around for the ghuols. He had his shotgun pistol ready too. He saw a ghoul about to bite Alexi. he shot it multile times and said "Watch your bac alexi.

Alexi smiled. "About time David, I was wondering when you'd show up>" she said, stabbing another ghoul in the throat. "There's quite a bit of them here. Where are the others David?"she asked, starting to worry about her siblings.

"I'm ten minutes out Damien. Could you hold out until then?" Izzy asked as she answered in hurry as soon as she had seen it was him. It was ten after midnight, and she had been hanging around the coffee shop for hours when she received the call from Damien about some ghouls infesting the docks. Truth be told, she hated these late night hunts especially when they were hunting something as pesky as a ghoul, but there was nothing she could do about it. The girl grabbed her things, and headed for her bike as fast as she could. She started the bike and headed for the location as she sped down the road.

Krystoff flipped down the stand, setting his bike a little ways from the main encounter. The last one had been wrecked by monsters and he didn't want his new baby to suffer the same indignity. He took off his helmet and put on his headset, pinging Jack again. "You better be okay dammnit! We're a little too busy to be getting your ass out of the fire." He slung his MP5 across his back and put together his rifle.

He looked around at the various warehouses and metal containers making the docks into a maze. He hoped the others would find the place as easily as Alexi and David. He climbed to the top of one, getting a good vantage point and deployed his bipod. Krystoff got to work quickly, taking out approaching ghouls to give his siblings breathing room. It was too risky to fire so close to Alexi, she liked to utilize too many acrobatics. The night rang out with each shot, the sound and beat of the rifle firing becoming a dim sensation in the back of Krystoff's mind.

Touching a hand to his headset again he talked to the siblings engaged. "Damian, David, Alexi. How are you guys holding up down there?"

Alexi tapped her headset. "There's a lot of them, we need you guys he..." She was cut off by a ghouls slashing her face, the impact was so massive it knocked Alexi down and she hit her head on the wood of the dock, inevitably knocking her unconscious. Her Green hair now getting stained with blood from the gashes on her face.

"Mother-! David, cover Alexi!" Before the ghoul could go for a lethal blow, Krystoff took off its head with a bullet between the eyes. With no time, he left his rifle on the top of the container and leaped to the ground, snatching his sword from his custom rack on the motorcycle. Why did they have to always engage so close?! He patted his rucksack that banged against his side, nearly driving the breath out of him. The grenades were there, but he had to get Alexi out of there first. The explosion could still cause injury to a human.

Even as he came abreast of the docks, the rancid beasts were pouring out like a swarm of fire ants protecting the colony. Krystoff brought his MP5 and started firing tight bursts, trying to thin out the oncoming horde. "We need suppressing fire on that door five minutes ago! Where is everyone?!" He went down to a crouch, becoming a smaller target so the ghouls might overlook him. They were dropping by the handful because of the special ammo, but it was a matter of numbers now, not firepower. What he wouldn't give for a machine gun with a VERY large belt of ammo!

Damian grinned as he put the barrel of his shotgun into the gaping mouth of a charging ghoul and pulled the trigger blowing the top of the creatures jaw halfway across the room. Adrenaline was pumping through his veins like a freight train and the tiredness he felt earlier was nowhere to be found. "Don't fret too much sister dear I'm sure we'll be done before you get here!" He communicated to Izzy through his headset as he revelled in blowing away the ghouls with his guns. The ghouls showed no sign of slowing down despite all the damage they were dealing. He looked in time to see Alexi go down "That is definitely going to cost you." He spat at the ghoul who did it with all the venom in his voice as he drew Dyrnwyn from its sheathe. The sword burst into flames and the fire immediately shot out at all the ghouls in front of them before settling into a ring of fire around David and Alexi "Diimitri, cover me!" He shouted before charging at a group of ghouls with the flaming sword in hand.

"David, get Alexi out of the way until she comes to." Krystoff patted Alexi's hair back, worry tightening his chest. He told himself that she'd be fine. "On your six, Damian!" he said, coming up behind his brother, covering the flanks that his brother's sword and fire couldn't reach. Krystoff was left with one magazine and soon that was empty too. He drew his own blade, stabbing a ghoul that was playing possum before it could tear through Damian's heel. He twisted the blade for good measure and some satisfaction. He could his blood and heartbeat like a battle hymn and dove into the fray with Damian. A few ghouls made past his blade, but only shallow grazes and cuts. Nothing would take away his family, not again. His sword shone with a dark light, the sockets on his hilt glowing a deep purple to match his need for vengeance. The blade started to swing faster, shearing through bodies like butter as it fed Krystoff's battle lust and prowess. "Damian, I'm worried about Jack, he hasn't reported in yet!" he roared as he slashed through the skull of a ghoul and was back to back.

Izzy had reached the road leading to the docks after she finished talking with Damien as he told her not to worry. How could she not, even if these were low class creatures, she still could not help but worry over her siblings. Just as she reached the docks, she had heard Alexi cut off and tried to call her back. "pick up, pick up, pick up" She repeated over and over in a worried, frantic, train of thought. She assumed the worse as she kept trying to get an answer, but to no avail as she was met with Alexi's voicemail as she kept trying to get through. Finally she gave up in frustration and started her bike back up, driving as fast as she could to reach the docks. Finally reaching the docks she had seen the horde of ghouls overrunning Krystoff's position. She had no time to think of a plan, and decided to do something drastic in order to break through their numbers to get to the others.

Hesitating for a minute, she closed her eyes and gathered herself before revving her bike. She hated doing reckless things, but at this point in time had no other option. She kicked the stand up and drove right at the ghouls as she turned her bike power sliding into a few of them before falling off of her bike and rolling a few feet. She quickly got up, and pulled her gun out firing off a few rounds, and taking a few of them down as she made her way to Krystoff and what seemed to be Alexi

After arriving on the scene and instructing Brutus to remain in the car, Dimitri was quick to get into the thick of the action by bursting into the warehouse where the sounds of gunfire and snarling could be heard and let loose with his own volley of shotgun blasts. Damien's instruction for cover was met with a fresh wave of gun shots, followed by n irritable grunt from Dimitri "Fuck man, when you said "a lot" I though you meant like twenty or something!" he barked as he blew the head off of a rapidly approaching ghoul. As yet another made a lunge for him Dimitri aimed his weapon and pulled the trigger only to realize a bit too late that he'd used up his shoots. The thud of flesh against flesh could be heard, as could the sound of a gun clattering to the floor, however the sound of a large body hitting the floor was suspiciously absent. Dimitri gritted his teeth as he held the ghoul back as best he could by its throat with one hand while fumbling for another of his weapons with the other. His knife was buckled into its sheath, as was his side arm, meaning that going for those without being slashed up even further by the ghoul's claws which where currently slashing his arm to ribbons. That left only one option. Dimitri sneered as he pulled a crowbar from his waist band and raised it high before bringing it down on the ghoul's head with a sickening thud. This dazed but did not outright kill the creature, however the dazing was all Dimitri really needed to let go and follow up with another strike to the head.

"Stay down, bitch." Dimitri rumbled before bringing the crowbar down a third time in a two handed swing, pulping the creature's head and sending chunks of brain matter across the floor. With that ghoul effectively put out of commission, Dimitri quickly returned his attention to the other ghouls. The slayer lurched forward with a bellow, putting several years of gained muscle to work as he smashed his way through wave after wave of ghoul with his crowbar.

Alexi woke, but for long. She maned to see the rest of her family around her, she also looked at the ground where she saw her own blood. She had lost quite a bit of it. Alexi then looks at Krystoff, barely able to keep her eyes open. "stop the bleeding." she managed to whisper before blacking out once more.

"Shit!" Damian growled as he slashed through another ghoul watching its body erupt into flames before it did before looking back at Krystoff. "Why is that kid always going off by himself?" He muttered in annoyance continuing to hack and slash any ghouls that got close to him, the fire of the blade doing it's best to cover his blindspots. "We don't have much choice we have to worry about getting rid of these things first and getting out alive ourselves before we can going looking for him. He raised the blade over his head swung with a massive amount of force sending a large stream of lames in Dimitri's direction burning through the ghouls he was fighting to provide him some more breathing room. "You think I asked for all these damn things? I wanted to go home and go to bed!" The amusement in his tone was masked heavily by the rage and annoyance he was feeling.

After all the fighting they were doing it looked like they were finally making a dent in the swarm of ghouls. Even moresoo when Izzy slapped a group of ghouls across the room with her bike. Even though he was fighting for his life he couldn't help but smile a bit. Such a move was very much uncharacteristic of her. "Damn...who are you and what have you done with my sister?" He joked before ghoul sunk its teeth into his arm and he yelled out before turning his back at the creature. "You're going to burn for that!" Without even moving the sword the flames shot up and enveloped the ghoul until it was literally nothing but ashes. He shrugged off the wound and went back to tearing apart the ghouls. "Keep it up! We almost got them."

Krystoff heard the hoarse groan of Alexi and cursed his bad luck, but soon the sound of Dimitri's unorthodox style reached his ears. At least waves would slow down some with him here. He turned towards Alexi, seeing Izzy approaching the scene. Damian seemed to have his side under control and with the ghouls regrouping after the new assault on their rear, this was Krystoff's chance. He rushed to Alexi, kneeling at her side and putting two fingers to her neck. Her heartbeat was fluttery and weak, showing just how low on blood she was. "Izzy, I need a shield while I work on Alexi! Dimitri should have the other side!" With that, Krystoff grabbed Alexi and slung her over his shoulders like a fireman. He sprinted back towards his bike, a relatively safe distance from the melee.

Ever the boy scout, Krystoff pulled a field medicine kit from his bag. After dousing his hands in alcohol, he pulled on a pair of gloves. He gingerly moved Alexi's head until he saw the full extent of the damage. The ghoul had just missed her carotid and jugular artery but it wasn't much of a relief. Krystoff had taken too much time helping Damian and he only hoped he wasn't too late to save his sister. "Come on you tough bitch, where's that sharp tongue of yours?!" Her blacking out wasn't a good sign, her blood pressure must've been way too low. Taking a steadying breath, he ripped open the suture kit and threaded the needle. Krystoff doused her wounds in the alcohol as well and was worried when she showed no response. Wiping away excess blood, Krystoff held her skin together as he carefully began to stitch her up. "Come on... come on..." he whimpered to himself. A couple of minutes later, her two laceration were neatly stitched and taped up, but she didn't seem to be coming to. "I swear to whatever powers that be, I'M TAKING YOUR ROOM IF YOU DIE, ALEXI!" Krystoff shouted at her as he grabbed the adrenaline. He tied off her bicep and after a vein was bulging, he inserted the needle, whipped off the tourniquet, pressed down on the plunger and immediately covered the injection site with gauze.

"Izzy! Holy water grenades in the bag!" Krystoff roared, throwing his sack over to her as she neared where Damian was making barbecue of the ghouls.

Late night of boredom, Xavier thought to himself when he was suppose to go on patrol. He was near the plaza area where a there was a club that was still jumping that night. Being the one out of the group who really did not take his job seriously with having a record of always showing up late or getting side tracked from his job, he at times was at odds with his siblings. Xavier left his car after he got the munchies and left to get himself a burrito, leaving his earpiece in the car along with his weapons. Taking his time, talking to the ladies until his food was ready, he finally headed back to his car as he put back on his ear piece and could hear his siblings cursing and gunshots going off as it sounded like a struggle. "Oh Shit!!" He said as he finally spoke up "Guys! Hey what's going on!? Where y'all at!? He said, starting up his car and pulling his guns out. "Is anyone hurt!?" He asked.
