“The world is a vast place filled with a variety of people each with their own dreams, goals, motivations, likes, dislikes, friends and foes. What is it that makes us tick, what is it that makes us come together to achieve a common purpose? It is said of those who believe in the God of Abraham that the world was once nothing but darkness and that the good lord spoke light into existence. From then on the story of humanity began and despite our supposed initial fall from grace in the garden of Eden we managed to make progress over the centuries growing better making life easier for the following generation. However it seems this trend has come to an end and some of our old barbaric ways have come to surface again. People are turning against each other once more because of difference’s a common theme throughout history whether it be gender, race, class, or of course now genetics. Once again we are waging war, slaughtering each other like animals all because of fear and misunderstanding, it makes me wonder for those who believe in a God who created everything was it worth it to make light out of the darkness or would it have been better if we’d simply been left in the abyss.”

Volume One: Wanted

“The Evolved humans are not us, they are different, they are dangerous the need to be detained and controlled. You’re claiming their one of us but you’re wrong last I checked I can’t defy the laws of gravity or bend others to my will. There are Evo’s out there who are capable of doing that without so much as moving a muscle and that’s not all. People who can alter your perception of reality to make you see anything they want, people who can make money just spew from ATM’s, and even control the weather itself. People like that are dangerous, they are not people, they are living weapons, and just like any weapon there needs to be regulation. These people are out there among us and even now with the evo registration act there are still many who’ve refused to co-operate with the authorities and want to abuse their abilities to inconvenience and potentially harm the rest of us. With such an imminent threat now is not the time for peace, and sympathy. An entire high school was wiped out last month, 2000 kids dead in L.A, and you have the nerve to suggest we need to give them a break!!”

A man reached for the remote and pressed a button and the television turned off. That man was Max Stross, one of the founders of Quantum Industries and one of their leading agents. He sighed glad the TV was off he had nothing to gain from watching politicians debate about the current Evo laws in the country. Honestly he supported what the Senator was saying in-fact he wanted to take it a step further. What he’s talking about is just the tip of the ice-berg the shit I’ve seen, the true power these people hold, they need to do more then contain them, the need to kill them.

Max was getting tired of Evo Sympathizers in the country it seemed every day there was less and less of a reason to have any excuse to support these monsters. Every-day he went to work he had to risk his life to go against these people and to help maintain the stability of society not just in America but the whole world. Such was the cost of working for Quantum but it wasn’t as if he didn’t enjoy the work. He was driven to do something that benefited society something that made his life seem like it had meaning.

He went over to his desk to grab his gun and put it in the holster, before checking himself out in the mirror briefly. Just as he was examining himself he felt a vibration in his pocket as his phone began to buzz and he quickly whipped it out. Taking a peak at the caller I.D and seeing it was work related he picked up.

“Hello Agent Stross speaking how may I help you, I’m just about to head in to the headquarters.”

“Max good thing I caught you man this shit is serious, your gonna need to head off to the first flight to California things -“

“You managed to get some information about whatever Evo wiped out the school.” Max was suddenly completely disinterested in anything he’d been doing before. The fact that the government had been unsuccessful in finding any leads regarding the school wiped out in L.A caused his blood to boil. 2000 kids murdered by some sociopathic superhuman and they couldn’t even figure out what power was behind it not to mention the Evo that was responsible.

“Not exactly, well sort of…that’s part of the assignment anyway. We’ve been looking into various people connected to the school former staff, students, family, mainly looking to see who was unregistered and checking in on them. Well get this there’s this chick Blaire Anderson, problem child with a history of drug problems and suspected Evo she went missing the same day the school was gone, and her car’s vanished too and the security footage for the apartment where she resided is gone. We have a strong inclination to believe that even if she’s not responsible the fact that she’s unregistered is a red flag as well as missing and around the time she went missing. We find the connection to her disappearance then we find our culprit and apprehend America’s most notorious mass murderer ever funding won’t be a problem, the world’s governments will recognize the necessity of Quantum..”

Max was listening with intent happy to have finally had a break, lately he’d taken a break from black ops work opting to focus on using his charity foundation Evo’s Anonymous to weed out unregistered superhumans to capture and kill, “This is great news, I’m about to pack my bags and I’ll be on the way to the air-port in less then half a hour. I want Quantum’s finest at my side this is quite possibly one of our most important missions and not just because the U.S wants results, because the lives of our youth were smiled by this genetic monster and now it’s time to deliver retribution.”

“Alright before you go I just wanted you to know that’s not the only thing brewing in California, it’s becoming a nest for dangerous Evo activity. It’s been reported that there’s some sort of incident taking place in Disneyland involving an extremely dangerous Evo with a dangerous ability, I’ll be sending a full report to your laptop. I want your team to handle that when you get down there as well as investigating Anderson’s disappearance we have a strong inclination to believe there connected, something is brewing in California and it’s not good. There’s rumors in the air of a group of dangerous Evo’s coming together and that can only mean bad news for us. It’s high time we deal with the situation, ever since Walker committed suicide things haven’t been looking good for us.”

“Alright I understand I’m on it I won’t let you down.” Max hung up the phone and went to the bathroom turning on the faucet. He leaned down and reached his hands into the sink splashing cold water into his face. He was just about to get ready to pack when something began playing in his mind, something he was sure had to be a fabrication a memory that just couldn’t be true but for some reason he knew it wasn’t. The nightmares had stopped now but for the past week he’d been having nightmares over and over about the same thing he shuddered just thinking about the eerie things he’d seen in his head which he was beginning to think were actually true. Just thinking about what he’d been seeing made a chill go down his spine.

Max stumbled forward looking around and was in some sort of wasteland. The entire area around him was decimated, he was standing the remains of what was once the city of Washington D.C. Around him was rubble, and the smell of corpses filled the air. It took everything in him not to vomit from the sheer disgust of what was happening as he began treading through the remains of the capitol city.

“Stross I’ve told you again and again the key to stopping all this, to preventing all of this is in California, you seem to be avoiding your destiny, you have a chance to change the world, do you want this to happen, do you want the world to be decimated, under the iron rule of them!” A voice was speaking but Max couldn’t see a person and suddenly heavy winds began blowing against him and dust was raised up around him. He raised his arm in defense to block the dust storm that was starting and suddenly in-front of him he saw the image of a teenage girl.

“Who is.”

“She is the key, the factor that can make all of this different, as Nakamura would say the butterfly that needs to be stepped on, pluck her wings Stross, capture her, at all costs she is the key Stross, she is the key.” Max continued to shield his eyes from the dust and suddenly it cleared and what was left was the shimmering reflection of the teenage girl the omnipresent voice had been telling him to take care of. He stared in the eyes of the girl looking over the image of her before everything started to fade to black. He felt his heart racing and an immense pain through-out his body as chasms began to open up in the ground. Lava began spewing out and suddenly he began hearing voices screaming and yelling. He collapsed to his knees as the pain grew more and more brutal.

“Make it stop stop!” He clasped his head in pain as tears began to come down from his eyes as he was brought to the ground in pain as the ground continued to rip apart and he was assaulted with visions of the city of Washington D.C. and other cities around the world being brutally destroyed with millions being killed in each vision. Finally and all of sudden the vision ended and just like that it was over.

“Whoever she is I have to find her, she’s related to all of this, to the dreams, to Nakamura, to everything,.” Max went to the bed-room to pack his bags now with a new sense of determination driving him. If he wanted to find the answers to the dreams that had plagued him for the past week, to find answers about who wiped out the school, to find answers about how to deal wit the Evo’s he knew he’d have to go to California.

Erin Marie Chase and Dean Mitchell

Anaheim, California ~ Disneyland

The cool breeze gently blowing through the park sent a shiver down her spine, causing her to wrap her arms tightly over her chest in an attempt to keep warm as she hurried out of the ride so that she catch up with the rest of her friends. Splash Mountain… she knew from the beginning that she was going to be getting wet- especially when Dean had practically forced her to sit right up the front of the small canoe type vessel, but she hadn’t expected to become as soaked through as she actually was at that very moment; not that it wasn’t fun. Lifting her hand up from where she had it wrapped tightly across her chest, she let her fingers brush gently against her forehead, dragging some of her long and damp dark brown locks back off of her face before neatly tucking them away behind her ear so that they were no longer obscuring her vision in any way; her attention turning over to where her friends all stood a couple of steps away, each of them huddled in a circle with their heads down and eyes glued to the park map that was given to the group upon entry to what everyone knew to be the happiest place on Earth.

“..we have to go on the Haunted Mansion ride..! I’ve been waiting all year to be able to go on it..! Oh please, can we go on that ride next..? Please, please, please..!”

She couldn’t help the gentle chuckle that fell through her lips as she quickly closed the gap, slipping herself in between both Tristan and Dean so that she too could look down at the map as Gale tried pleadingly to get them all to follow along with her excitement- it wasn’t as though they didn’t want to go on that ride; they wanted to go on them all, or at least as many as they possibly could while they had the chance- so far they had been in America a full week, with three more left before they were going to be heading back home to Australia; and though they had probably made quite a huge mistake by going to Disneyland first, it had most definitely been worth it.

“Gale, you know we plan on going on every ride that we can while we’re here; we still have plenty of time to go on it, so don’t go rushing about or it won’t be as fun- besides…” A soft tinge of red crossed over her cheeks as her dark brown eyes met with that of Dean’s- the both familiar and cheeky smirk playing over his lips something that she had gotten used to over the years that they had known each other, though it was always something that caught her off-guard… her older brothers more charming and upfront friend always managing to keep her upon the balls of her feet, “.. we have the rest of the day ahead of us; and the parade is starting in like, what? Fifteen minutes..? Why don’t we high-tale it back to the main street, grab some snacks and a great place to watch it from? Then we can go check out some of the other rides they have around this place. What do you think Erin..?”

“U-Uh… I think it’s a good idea- we’ve been running ourselves flat out since we first got into the park this morning; a break could really do us all some good.” Eventually managing to tear her eyes away from Dean’s so that she was instead looking over at the other two that were standing with them, she relaxed herself once more before her lips turned up in a bright smile, her head nodding lightly up and down as though to push her point in agreeing to the plan that he had come up with, “Not to mention that it’ll also give us time to dry off from that last ride.”

It was just like clockwork. The very moment that the words had slipped out through her lips, her hand lifted up to take a hold of the pendant that was hung around her neck, the beautiful interchangeable golden tree pendant adorned with both red and white small jewels. It was a symbol of Fall… a symbol of Autumn… The season of which the days grew cooler, and the leaves changed color- where the once most vibrant of greens switched the most fiery of reds, oranges and yellows… where the animals that surrounded them began to get ready and prepare themselves for the frosty chill of the Winter climate that they all knew was on its way. She wasn’t used to this type of weather… it was as though she was stood under a completely different sun, but she knew as well as everyone else around her that it was one in the same.

Allowing her attention to wander away from the conversation that was going on around her, she let her gaze lift up to look at the vast sky that spanned out for miles and miles; such a beautiful shade of blue, and then painted with the familiar whites and greys that made up the clouds- a little bit of heat wasn’t going to hurt… not too much, but just enough to dry them off so that they could go and enjoy the rest of their day without having to worry about catching a cold or anything. Tilting her head ever so slightly to the side as her mind began to fill with the thoughts of those perfect summer days… the kind of days that she had spent with her brother and their friends, playing in the surf and the sand of the beach that their family’s home backed onto… the days that led cold drinks that you couldn’t hold onto without a stubbie holder, the unmistakable smell of snags, steaks and lamb chops cooking away on the barbie; days that led to running around barefoot and in your bathers in the backyard, messing around in the pool with your mates, and throwing water balloons at anyone who wasn’t paying any attention to what was going on- the very thought of it had her smile growing wider and her features lighting up happily; the feeling of the temperature heating up around her soon helping to spread an ever familiar warmth through her body, her clothes seeming to dry at a much quicker pace than they had been minutes before.

“Erin, come on..! You’re going to miss the show if you don’t get a move on..!”

“..huh..?” Pulled out of her daze by the sudden sound of her name being called out from somewhere in the area that was around her, she turned her head over towards the general direction she believed the source of the extremely familiar voice to be coming from, her dark eyes slowly flicking about the area in search of it until eventually, they came to a stop upon Dean’s figure standing over by the path that led back towards the main street of the park, “Oh… I’m coming; wait up, Dean..!”

Not bothering to give a second thought or any sort of notice to the slow but ever increasing climate around her, she quickly hurried to catch up with him, reaching out with her arm as she grew closer until she was able to take a hold of his hand, the simple action once more causing her cheeks to turn a soft shade of red. Feeling the warmth of his hand wrap around her own, she lifted her head up so that she could meet with his gaze for a few moments; the sweet familiarity behind his greyish-blue eyes helping her to relax as the two of them began to make their way side by side towards where the others they had come with had run off to.

Slowing down as they grew closer and closer to the ever growing crowd in main street, she slipped her hand out from his hold, bringing them both together in from of her stomach as she lifted herself up onto the balls of her feet so that she could get a better look around, her eyes flicking back and forth in search of their missing friends, “Dean… I’m so sorry; if it wasn’t for me lagging behind, we never would have lost the-… H-Hey, what are you doing..!”

Widening her eyes ever so slightly as she felt a large pair of hands take a gentle though firm grip over her hips, she dropped her attention down from the crowd to watch on, her stomach muscles tensing up as much as they could as she felt her lithe frame being lifted up from the ground before he let her down, sitting her down on top of his shoulders before wrapping his arms firmly around her legs and then shrugging as best as he could under her weight, “This way, you’ll be able to get a better view of the parade shortie.”

Feeling her cheeks growing a brighter shade of red at the sudden embarrassment of being lifted up into the air, she hunched her back over ever so slightly, her hands sliding down her leg for just a few moments before she took a gentle hold of the front of his top in an attempt to help keep herself from falling from her new perch, “I’m not that short Dean… besides, it’s a bunch of floats, I’m sure I’d be able to see them from the ground.”

“Oh really now…” Keeping her attention focused on him as he continued to walk until they had gone and completely joined the crowd, she watched on as he tilted his head back so that it was resting up against her stomach, flashing her his normal mischievous grin and chuckling softly before he began to reach back up to her, causing her to quickly pull one of her hands back to swat his own away from her altogether, “Well then… if that’s the cas-…”

“No..! I mean…” Slightly flustered under his never wavering gaze, she lifted the hand that she had been using against him back behind her head, her attention slowly turning away so that she was staring out into the distance as she lightly rubbed at the back of her head, “I said I would… didn’t say that I wanted to…”

It took her a few moments before she realized that the sound she was hearing was the sound of his gentle chuckle escaping through his lips before eventually, the sound of the crowd cheering around them caused the both of them to look over to where they could see movement upon the street. It was like nothing she had ever seen before- no matter how many times she visited the theme-parks up in the Gold Coast, no matter how many times she watched all of her favourite Looney Tunes, Marvel and Wanner Brother’s characters pass her by; it was by far no match for what it was that she was now seeing before her very eyes…

“Oh, Dean look..! It’s Minnie and Mickey..!” She couldn’t help the surprised yelp that slipped through her lips as she felt herself lifted even higher into the air, her grip tightening out of pure habit as he pushed himself up onto the balls of his feet so that he could get an even better look at his favourite character over the heads of the crowd- it felt like a dream, something that she could only ever dare to imagine as the parade slowly but surely continued on past them; the whole scene unfolding in front of her along with the music filling the air causing a twinkle within her eyes as she continued to gaze upon the characters that she had grown up admiring pass her by, adding to the already quite enthusiastic atmosphere that the crowd was giving off- the strange movement of one of the cast members within the parade itself catching her attention as the woman began to stumble about on her feet, her body hitting the ground causing those who were apart of the procession behind her to come to a complete halt before they rushed forward to make sure that she was okay.

Lifting her hand up from where she had it resting against his chest, her fingers pressed lightly against her lips in an attempt to hide her surprise- something wasn’t right here… people were beginning to drop all around them; not just the staff, but also those that were within the crowd, causing a panic to begin spreading throughout those that were left standing upon two feet. What in the hell was going on here..? People didn’t just drop down out of nowhere for no apparent reason; things like this didn’t just happen like that... they couldn’t, could they..?

“..Erin…” Taking a few moments longer to continue gazing upon the ever worsening scene that was going on right in front of them, she turned her attention down to where she could feel Dean’s hands once again gripping a hold of her hips, her body moving with his as he quickly pulled her down from his shoulders so that she was instead standing in front of him, his expression worried as he searched her eyes for answers she wasn’t sure that she would be able to give him, his voice lowering down to a whisper so that the conversation could go one between just the two of them, “..is it just me, or does it seemed to be getting a bit too hot for Fall weath-…”

The sound of terrified screams filled the air around them, cutting the rest of his sentence off mid-way and causing the both of them to turn their attention back to the road; the familiar dance of bright orange flames lapping up against and engulfing what they could see was left of the Sleeping Beauty float- the Princess herself quickly pulled to safety by her ever adoring Prince. This wasn’t right; she had never meant-… Turning her attention back to where Dean stood holding onto her tightly, she looked up at him with tear-glazed eyes, an all too familiar sting running across their surface showing him just how close she was to one of her break downs; the guilt from already having forgotten all about the small change that she had initiated only helping to fuel emotions, “I-I only meant to help dry off our clothes so that we wouldn’t catch a cold… Dean-… I never meant for this to happen…”

Feeling the gentle tug of his arm wrapped around her waist, she allowed him to lead her back and away from where all the commotion was going on, the two of them slipping around the corner and into a quieter area where they could be alone- she knew what he was doing… he was trying to calm her down; to reassure her that everything was going to be okay… that she would be able to fix this once she was able to focus again. Out every single one of their friends, he was the only one that knew about them; that knew about her and her brothers abilities, and after everything they had seen… even after Claire Bennet had gone out of her way to expose their kind to the world… he had not only kept their secret, but had also stuck by their side and helped to look after them both.

“Shh… it’s gunna be alright Erin…” Closing her eyes tightly as she brought both of her hands up to rest against his chest, she let her body fall into and press hard against his own as he tightened his arms around her, keeping her as close against him while he continued to try and soothe her enough to try and help her fix the situation before it became any worse, “..we’re gunna fix this okay? You and me… together; we’re gunna make this right…”

“..t-that’s the thing… Dean… I-I don’t think I can this time…”

Pulling his feet up to the couch, Casper couldn't help but manage a heavy sigh at the television. The boy had just managed to get his mother to bed and hoped to God that she would stay there. The woman had been jacked up on drugs enough to O.D if it was to continue. "Wonder when it will end..." Casper's thoughts circled his mind in a mix of frustration and hopelessness. Part of him wanted his mother to overdose simply because he wanted this all to end. She was nothing but an empty shell and everyday she was getting closer to an imminent demise. The woman had dug herself a hole she couldn't crawl out of anymore.

“The Evolved humans are not us, they are different, they are dangerous and they need to be detained and controlled. You’re claiming they're one of us but you’re wrong last I checked I can’t defy the laws of gravity or bend others to my will." Casper had made it a habit to keep up with Evo politics. In fact, he was incredibly interested in politics as a whole, something else to add to the surprising list of interests the boy had. Despite his young age and place in society, he wanted to keep himself updated. There was that, and one should not disregard the occasional entertainment coming from hearing complete incompetence spewing out of a politician's mouth. This was however not entertaining, not in the slightest. Evos, mutants, meta-humans, what have you, they were all treated like nuclear weapons and could be compared to prisoners from birth. Casper's mutation immediately turned him into a threat and that forced a handful of laws down his throat that made no sense whatsoever. If anything violated human rights, the Evo laws would stand on top but no one complained. The reason behind such silence was however quite obvious, people didn't see Evos as humans. "There are Evo’s out there who are capable of doing that without so much as moving a muscle and that’s not all." The politician continued.

"Wonder what these asshats would give up for this crap. All of these fucks want our powers..." In Casper's eyes these people acted like little more than children. They feared those bigger than them and did everything in their power to suppress those they are jealous of. If everyone on the planet had super powers, this wouldn't be an issue. There was probably a secret laboratory somewhere that experimented on people in an attempt to create superpowers in a can. That would be a good business idea. Given how the laws were changing, such inhumane procedures were probably going to be made legal.

"People who can alter your perception of reality to make you see anything they want, people who can make money just spew from ATM’s, and even control the weather itself. People like that are dangerous, they are not people, they are living weapons, and just like any weapon there needs to be regulation." Black on white, the politician said it clear as day. Evos aren't people, they aren't human, they are weapons. Like mindless sheep the crowd cheered this on, completely supporting the successive annihilation of Evos. Casper could only see one outcome to this, an uprising. Did these politicians seriously think that they could squeeze this hard without the pot boiling over? It would, and then the world would go to shit.

"Fuckin' hilarious how no one's considerin' the fact that Evos are exactly what they're sayin'. We're dangerous and yet they treat us like this? Just wait until the bear wakes up...Ya' know what? I'd love to see that shit." Though cynical and perhaps a bit bloodthirsty, the thought spoke of a deep rooted desire planted by these fanatics. Because of them, more and more Evo devastation would arise and it would all be caused by oppression, stress and a circle of negative energy. "For fuck sake, we're not even allowed to hang out in town 'cause of a fuckin' curfew..." The more anti mutant supremacist decided the squeeze, the more the Evo would fight back. In turn, mutants would be blamed for the outcome while no one looked at the reason. Such was the world.

"These people are out there among us and even now with the Evo registration act there are still many who’ve refused to co-operate with the authorities and want to abuse their abilities to inconvenience and potentially harm the rest of us." Every word this politician managed to speak was another nerve stepped on. How many people were listening to this crap? How many empty heads were nodding in agreement?

"Co-operate with what? It's assholes like you that we wanna' harm. It's called self defense...fuck, I hope someone shoves a sword down your throat..."

"With such an imminent threat now is not the time for peace and sympathy. An entire high school was wiped out last month, two thousand kids dead in L.A, and you have the nerve to suggest we need to give them a break!!” Finally the speech came to an end and Casper sat on his couch rubbing his forehead. A fourteen year old boy could listen to this and see the complete bullshit dripping from every word.

"If a 'normal' fuckin' person planted a bomb and killed all those people, no one would put a mass oppressing law in place for you guys, would they?" For the first time since the broadcast started, Casper's thoughts had made their way into actual words. Listening to this was like pulling teeth, like letting needles sink their way into your skin. How far did it have to go until these deluded idiots came to the conclusion that the more they oppress the Evos, the more disasters they'd see.

"Casper..." The boy heard a familiar voice reach his ears before he turned his head to his mother's bedroom, seeing her opening the door.

"Yes, mom?" He sighed, seeing her stumbling forward. She had yet to come down from her high and when she did, she'd just get shit faced again.

"I'm hungry, Casper."

"Uh-huh..." Placing his feet on the floor, the boy stood up and started towards the kitchen, seeing how his mother dropped down on the couch. He had to prepare breakfast either way, and she needed to go sleep after having been jacked up the entire night but some breakfast was a good idea. Neither one of them ate well, that was for sure. Cracking some eggs into a pan, Casper prepared two sandwiches on the side and added some salt, pepper and other spices to the eggs frying in the pan.

"What are you watching, son?" His mother continued, rubbing her eyes to let them adjust with the outside world.

"Politics." The boy returned, his soft and quiet voice making its way across the silence of the room to his mother's ears.

"Anything good?" She yawned.

"No." Casper finished, serving his mother her breakfast before he sat down next to her and silently ate his food. They both watched television together but at this point Casper was barely paying attention. His morning had been somewhat ruined from the broadcast he had witnessed and he had to essentially force the food down. "Goin' to school."

"Okay, sweetie. Good luck." The halfway awake woman commented, gently stroking her son's arm as he stood and entered his room. Slipping into a pair of cargo pants, he put on an over sized hoodie and started out of the apartment. Time to go to Evo prison. He threw his shoulder bag on and hurried down the stairs, walking out to the street and continued on his straight path to the bus stop. This area wasn't exactly the safest but he could defend himself without a problem. Though, according to this new law, he was technically not allowed to. Casper's mutation was physical and he couldn't exactly turn it off. Punching someone for him was using his power. Funny how things turn out. Sitting down on the bench, the boy slipped on his iPod and breathed out. The bus would come soon and before going to school, he could at least disappear for a little while into his own world. That's what music did, it was an escape, something he desperately needed.

Senator Elizabeth Reyes
Los Angeles, California

An entire high school was wiped out last month, 2000 kids dead in L.A, and you have the nerve to suggest we need to give them a break! I am also here to announce that I will be participating in the up coming presidential election, and to make sure that this Evo threat is taken care of.”

Senator Elizabeth Reyes stood up at a podium holding a press conference in front of a crowd of new journalists and anchors. Ever since the attack on the high school in her own home city she has been calling for harsher actions against non registered Evos, while those who have already been registered they were monitored constantly just to make sure that they were in line and didn't pose a threat to the rest of the people.

The moment the press conference was over Elizabeth shook hands with those who attended, she would occasionally read some of their minds and smiled a lot of the people who were in attendance agreed with her stance. The moment that she left the stage finishing up her act Elizabeth headed out towards her car. Sighing slightly she was glad that she finished the press conference and started up her car and proceeded to leave the parking lot, then she received a phone call from her assistant in Quantum. "This is Reyes, what is it?" Elizabeth asked driving over towards the Quantum facility in LA. "We called Max Stross to let him know that there is an evo related incident happening at Disneyland, we sent him a briefing on whats been going on there." Her assistant said as Elizabeth stopped at a red light, she remembered recruiting Max for how he got his job done and relied on him to get results done. "Thank you, let him know that I will pick him up at the airport and send me what you have as well."

Ever since Molly Walker had committed suicide in order to prevent herself from getting captured it was harder to track specific Evo's down, but she did know that there was a possibility there could be someone else with that same ability, but nothing concrete yet. After a few minutes of driving Elizabeth was parked outside of the terminal at LAX waiting for Max to land.

Elena Reese
Los Angeles, California

Elena groaned loudly as she watched the news of Senator Reyes making her speech and her joining the up coming presidential race, she hated the woman for just discriminating against her and other Evo's. Sure they were a very real threat, but there were some like herself completely innocent and trying to live as normal life as possible. She was forced to be registered as an Evo about six months ago, she stood up and left her apartment and headed down towards her mail box to check what was in her mail. Of course there wasn't anything interesting a few magazines, and several things that were junk mail. Then she looked down seeing a letter from her Evo Division agent showing what she could and couldn't do, just a month reminder that he always sent to her.

Elena groaned loudly as she read through it and the signed the letter before sending it back into her mail box, just so that she wouldn't get fined, or sent to prison. Luckily she kept regular contact and she didn't get into trouble. Elena headed back up into her apartment and grabbed her backpack as well as her other college supplies.

Elena headed out of her apartment once more and headed over towards her old rusted mustang she had for years and quickly got inside and started making her drive over towards Glendale Community College. It was only about a ten minute drive from her off campus apartment, and when she got onto the college grounds Elena could see security in front of the entrance of the school, checking ID's of the students that entered. They checked weekly for any unregistered Evo's that entered the college, those who weren't were quickly sent to prison which made Elena mad.

Then it was finally Elena's turn and presented her Evo ID card, they made sure that she was not a threat and sent her into class where she spent most of her morning then her afternoon was just work then back home. Being an Evo she didn't have many friends, and if she wanted she wouldn't be able to go out to any clubs or go out drinking with them due to the laws emplaced on her. Class went on and very much was uneventful for the whole day.

Riley Smith
Newberry Springs, California

Riley sat in the back of her parent's car she had her earbuds in her ears listening to some music she was being driven to school like any other person would. She kept herself being an Evo a secret from her parents, she would occasionally see visions of other evos while sleeping or times when she was extremely exhausted. As Riley looked out the window seeing her high school quickly showing up, Riley started getting her things together. "See you later mom and dad." Riley said as she quickly hugged them both, and quickly left her parents car she had about twenty minutes before having to head to her first period class. And she would have some time to at least get a little power nap, Riley walked over towards a bench and laid down on her back looking up at the early morning sky which was very relaxing.

As Riley slept, she started to quickly toss and turn seeing a vision of a classroom of her own high school of a classmate getting bullied by a senior. Riley quickly ran into the school, as she got closer she found the classroom and there wasn't a teacher in the room just yet. Newberry Springs hadn't gotten the equipment yet to do any testing of who was evo and who wasn't. This was the first time Riley saw an evo like herself, and he was getting bullied.

Before she could do anything to stop it the bully started screaming in agony as every bone in his body was broken, the only thing Riley could do was watch as the boy held out his hand. As teachers and students heard the scream they quickly went into the classroom, they saw the kid laying on the ground still screaming in pain. "Someone call 911!" Riley was quickly pulled out of the classroom and sent to the principle's office while the teachers detained the young evo.

Michael Thomas
Island Prison, Some where in the Atlantic

"I'm the fuckin man, y'all don't get it do you..." Michael had just started rapping along to the lyrics of The Motto by Drake. It was one of the big hits this year, but unfortunately Skype started beeping with an incoming video call. He sighed at the tone and contemplated if he really wanted to answer. Then again, what else would he do. The music was not going anywhere, and with his situation it seemed he would not be going anywhere either.

Michael never would have thought Quantum would think of isolating him on an island. It seemed nice at first: three meals a day, no one to bother him, great Internet speed, a beach, and a great view of the ocean. Even the solitude was nice at first. After several hours of this bliss, he realized what kind of hell Quantum had tailored for him. There was no people, barely any wildlife, the food tasted like shit, the internet would lose connection from time to time, and he had to talk to a Quantum appointed Evo Division representative every few days or whenever they called him. Michael was not exactly sure why they gave the effort, but he guessed that it was to keep him sane. He sat in the only seat they had given him with what he referred to as his "island prison starter kit" that included the generator he had to keep running, a small wooden desk, and his laptop. It was a decent lawn chair, but he was sure he'd break it one of these days. It was tides like these where he regretted a lot of things. Being born an evo and breaking out of his previous containment were two of the things that came to his mind the most.

Michael curled his bare feet in the soft sand before answering the call. He sighed as he saw the same woman's face he had seen for days. Veronica Fields. At first he refused to answer he calls, but then they stopped doing air drops. A guy has to eat, so he would answer and not talk, at least until she threatened to make the air drops stop after his second time playing mute.

"Hey." Michael said unenthused. The woman on the screen couldn't have been no more than ten years older than he was and always dressed in business clothing.

"Good afternoon, Michael." Veronica said kindly. She was always like this at first. Michael never liked it and felt like she was just trying to butter him up. Then again, he could not figure a reason why she would do that. Maybe this isolation was getting to him.

"Back at ya. So what's the topic for today?" Michael asked, being a smart alec. Veronica always seemed to have something specific to ask about. The first time it was his reason for attempting escape, and after that was his reason for abusing his ability at his college.

"Topic? Well since you put it that way. Today we're going to talk about your opinion." She said with a smirk. Her green eyes pierced, showing he interested in what he might say.

"On?" He asked with curiosity. Now both their interests were peaked. He hated not knowing something. He absolutely hated it. If she were there in person he could make her bend over backwards while reciting the alphabet backwards, but he had no such power and he knew she loved that he yearned for it. With no one around she knew how pathetic he felt.

"Well I just want to know how you feel..." She was doing it again. "About Evos. I know it seems vague, but I want your open ended opinion." She said as she kept her smile up.

"Evos... I guess that's actually a great topic for today. I think you'll like it." Michael said as he smiled back.

Jack Harper - Los Angeles California

Jack was watching the news while eating a nice bowl of fruity pebbles. There was a speech going on about the Evos and how they needed to essentially be eradicated. He shook his head and took another bite of his fruity bowl of goodness. Jack was one of the lucky ones, he was able to fool the system. Jack has the ability of biological manipulation, which allowed him to alter his very DNA to show up human when he was tested. If it wasn't for that he would have been marked as an Evo and most likely imprisoned to be studied. Ever since then he kept to himself, tried to lay low just in case anyone should catch wind of his ability. He finished his bowl of cereal as the speech on television ended. They were so close minded, just like most of the world. If only they knew that they too could have powers then maybe they wouldn't be too keen on extermination those they fear. That's all it was, a fear of the unknown. Jack left the kitchen table and began getting ready for his day.

As he was walking out of the apartment he saw one of the other tenants leaving, Elena was her name. She was an evo just like him. He never made much contact with her aside from a friendly greeting in the hallways. He had been wanting to reveal that he too was an evo, but he was always too cautious about who he told, even other evos. He watched her drive away then walked to his own job where he would rehabilitate animals who were injured or lost their family. It had been Jacks dream job for some time. He did even better at it because of his biological manipulation. That's how he got most of his practice in. That and he would focus on himself, and just learn about his own body. When he arrived at his job he picked up a baby monkey he had been taking care of. It got in a tussle with some other monkey at the zoo and fell off a branch, breaking a leg. When the monkey first came in he used his power to speed up the process of mitosis in the monkey, causing the bone to heal at a faster rate. Just a few more days and he would be ready to be put into a new zoo with friendlier monkeys. This is what Jack did with his life while trying to figure out what he could do in the big scheme of things. With such a great power he could change the world like he had always wanted to. He would make a difference, an impact on the world, and go down in the history books one day. This was his belief, he just didn't know the path that lays ahead yet.

His day at work was average, he helped animals get better. All he wanted to do was help, and he was the bad guy. Maybe he could help in the big scheme of things. He walked around the animal shelter and said goodbye to the animals before he left from work.

As he walked home he kept on thinking about Elena. Usually he didn't mind other peoples business but for some reason he was curious about her power. Maybe she would want to talk about it? Surely it would be nice for her to be able to talk to someone who's not anti evo like the entire world. His thoughts ran rampant during his walk until he arrived home.

Once in his apartment he looked around for a paper and pen. He saw both lying on his coffee table in the living area. Grabbing the pen and paper he began writing a small note.

"Elena,

I was curious about your powers. I'm not like most people who discriminate against those who have evolved, I'm fascinated and would like to talk some time if you don't mind.

Jack, from apartment 36

He looked it over once then folded it up and went to her apartment. A little nervous he stood in front of the door for a moment before sliding the note underneath. With that he turned to go back to his own apartment where he would look deeper into himself and his power.

The sound of wheels broke through Casper's music as the boy sat staring down at his converse clad feet. Converse, a pair of shoes he found himself quite used to at this point though their price was racked up through the roof. If it wasn't for sales often put out, he'd be without. Black, just like the rest of him, Casper didn't exactly shine with color. Black cargo pants, black shoes and a black sweater, one could say that a lot was left to be desired. His hair didn't help in terms of image but one could quite clearly draw the conclusion that he was comfortable with himself. Ascending to his feet, Casper took two steps forward and watched as the bus drove up to him and allowed entry. "Good morning." The bus driver spoke, a jolly smile on the man's face.

"Hello." Casper returned, rummaging through his shoulder bag in search for his wallet. A few moments passed before he finally came in contact with it and produced the amount required for the trip. Around this neighborhood taking the bus was a common sight but Casper had been around. He enjoyed exploring quite a bit and has broken the silly curfew put on mutants like him more than once. Dropping down on a seat next to the window, he'd lean his head against the thin layer of glass and breathed out. Another day at school was approaching and this was essentially his last chance to disappear for a moment and reside within his own world. They called it a school for Evos but it was more like a cage. They rounded up and sent kids to this place because they didn't trust them enough to have them out in the open. This was for everyone's best, wasn't it? Well, there was one thing that bordered on the positive and that was that Casper was around others like him. Everyone enjoyed being close to those they could relate to, but it didn't stretch further than that. Every single day it felt like they squeezed just a little tighter. How long would it take these politicians to completely eradicate Evo rights? What truly baffled the boy was how the masses sat by and silently watched. No one had stepped up to truly take the fight back to these fanatics. Casper would do it himself but who would take a fourteen year old boy seriously?

A set of minutes passed, something along the line of fifteen, before the bus finally arrived at the designated location. Stepping off the vehicle, the boy kept his eyes on the ground as he so often did while walking. The school was a few blocks away, positioned in an area where if it happened to blow up, no one but the Evos would die in the accident. The thought brought soft laughter to Casper's lips. How many would care if this school blew up? The teachers would perhaps get an honorary mention but other than that, who would cry for the students? On the contrary, politicians would use it as another act against Evos. "Well, well!" The fourth voice of the day broke through Casper's thoughts before another boy appeared in front of him. All too well known, this young man's name was Mitchell.

"What?" Casper raised his eyebrow, the grip around the strap of his bag tightening slightly. Casper wasn't known for his patience, rather he was known for the lack thereof, and this boy Mitchell wasn't the pleasant type.

"Aw come on, man! You don't have to talk to me like that." Mitchell shot back at the much smaller boy, a grin widening across his lips. Casper had been on school grounds for but a brief amount of seconds before Mitchell appeared. It was going to be one of those days, wasn't it?

"Outta' my way." Casper continued, his patience waning but his voice quiet and soft all the same.

"Or what, you'll pound me?"

"I'd rather rip your skin off and shove it down your throat..." Clenching his teeth, Casper swallowed the thought and ignored it. Mitchell was known to be the local bully, but he had yet to actually lay a finger on Casper. He knew that the smaller boy could break him in half if it came to it, but that didn't prevent him from poking the lion with a stick, constantly. Casper couldn't afford another brawl like the one which had ended him up at this school. Another scene like that would get him locked up and that wasn't being over dramatic. What truly sucked about Casper's power was that it was directly link to every action he made. He wasn't allowed to protect himself or stand up for his own integrity without breaking the law. Was it frustrating? It made him want to rip the spine out from half the people he knew. It was tearing at him in ways he couldn't describe. Every single day was a struggle because he had been shackled to the ground. "Fuck off."

"Haha, I knew it. Lil' Cassy can't do shit. You're already on the naughty list, aren't you?"

"Thinkin' about gettin' naughtier..." Casper frowned, taking a step forward before he reached his hand out and pushed Mitchell out of the way without effort.

"You used your power!"

"I so hope someone blows this fuckin' place to hell..." Ignoring Mitchell's pig like squealing, Casper opened his locker and reached for one of his books. It was going to be one of those days indeed.

"Evos"

Veronica, Michael's Evo Division representative arched her right brow as she found Michael's smile and tone to be unpredicted. There were times when she wondered whether or not he was happy to be alone on an island, and this was one of them. She made a quick mental note just as he started speaking.

"Well... I think Evos are pretty interesting. You know?" Michael shrugged. "Sure, some may seem to have useless skills like glowing in the dark or changing pigmentation throughout their body, but what normal person can say they can do that?" Michael said as his feet shifted in the sand.

As Veronica assumed that Michael was done with his brief answer, she opened her mouth to speak.

"I'm not done." Michael interrupted. His sharp tone caused Veronica to leave her mouth agape for a few seconds. Her eyebrows furrowed at Michael's now very apathetic face. "Then there are Evos like me..." Michael scowled at the woman on the screen. "They call us dangerous, but that's because we are. Think about it, it's only natural. We're like a new species being introduced to a perfect habitat. Kinda like an invasive species. You know about those types of situations, right?" Michael finally smirked, but it was sinister this time. "Out with the old, in with the new. And I can't wait when until we swallow all you fuckers whole. You're trying to stop us, but you can't. You tried to detain me, but you couldn't... And now you isolate me, but you haven't."

"Don't be so sure of yourself Mr. Thomas, there's no one anywhere near you and there will never be anyone near you after what you just said. You're done! You've lost, we've won. And you're entire 'species' of mutated brothers and sisters will lose as well." Veronica said showing her dominance. She stared Michael in the eyes as his smile faded. She knew she had pissed him off. His silence said it all.

Then Michael spoke, his smile returning.

"So you've won? Really?" Michael's smile grew before he chuckled. With a quick shaking of his head he stood up and turned the laptop to face the ocean. "You see what I'm seeing? The calvary has arrived." He said as he crossed his arms. Veronica could only watch in shock at what she saw.

Max Stross, Los Angeles California

Max had a mostly uneventful flight to California he was just eager touch down and get to work. He was informed that he would be meeting with none other then Senator Elizabeth Reyes herself.

Although he wasn’t a huge fan of politicians there was something different about her, she had a sense of purpose about her. That and she shared his own views about how how the Evo situation would be dealt with he’d be glad to vote her for President in the upcoming election and hoped others would do the same. He was playing a game on his cell phone as he sat back in is jet and got word over the intercom that the’d be touching down soon.

One of the best features he enjoyed about working for Quantum was the high speed jets and the abundance of room he was provided due to his high rank in the organization. One of his pet peeve’s about air-port was all the annoying security details you had to pass through and the lack of space since he usually preferred to ride in third class to save money. Almost there, and one step closer to figuring out what the fuck these nightmares are about. I almost want to dismiss them as purely fiction but with everything going on I’d be a fool to do that. The girl in my dreams who the fuck is she, I’ve been searching through all the Evo files on Quantum’s database and she dosen’t register. Hell how do I even know she’s an evo honestly do I even know if she’s real. I Can’t allow myself to think like that if there’s any chance she might be connected to a solution to these genetic abominations then I need to pursue it. At least Bennet said he’d handle Disneyland so that frees up all my time to look into the Anderson girl.

Max was lost in thought conflicted about what lead he should pursue first the tangible one that might lead him to the mass murderer who wiped out the high school or some girl that was linked to his apocalyptic nightmares.

Max reached for his bottle of water and twisted open the cap before taking a gulp. “Get ready for landing”

Max put his seat belt back on and looked down at his watch it wouldn’t be long now. Soon after he was out of the jet and the rest of his squad he’d brought to accompany him was there as well. Max was walking over to the vehicle that he recognized the senator was in and opened up the passenger seat getting in while the agents piled into a high powered armored truck behind him.

“We meet again Senator Reyes. You know there’s quite a few rumors going around that you might be playing both teams and I’m not talking about boys and girls.” Max smirked he had no reason to believe Elizabeth was evo he dismissed all those talks as mere rumors to try to undermine someone who was going to change America politically for the better. Of course she had no way of knowing what he thought at least that’s what he thought. “But now’s not the time to discuss whatever bullshit the democratic party is spewing about you, there just jealous because of how good you’re doing in the poll’s. Listen I got a call from Bennet he’s going to handle the situation in Disneyland I’ve got some more pressing matters to take care of that I want to run by you first.

Max reached for his bag that he’d tossed in the back-seat when he entered Elizabeth’s car and opened it up. He promptly took out his laptop which he flipped open. As the screen flickered to life it showed he was on the Quantum’s database and the person on the screen was a registered evo in LA named Elena Reese.

“So I got wind that we finally got a lead on the high school incident, apparently there’s a girl named Blaire Anderson, problem child, druggie, all sorts of trouble she attended the school and was nearly expelled on numerous occasions. We’ve looked into various other individuals who had a prior connection to the school but here’s what makes her interesting, we’ve found out she had established a friendship with Elena Reese despite the fact they didn’t attend the same college, courtesy of this brat coming from a priveledged family that no doubt threw their money around to keep her ass out of jail. But here’s where it gets to the good part she’s been reported missing since the day the high school was wiped out, and I just learned that the CIA was investigating Anderson for some stolen files related to Building 26.” Max decided to let that sink in he knew he wasn’t much of a talker preferring to take action.

However he wanted to let Elizabeth know the seriousness of the lead as to not disappoint her as he was sure she wanted him to look into the situation in Disneyland because while Bennet was one of their most skilled agents his adopted daughter was the one who exposed Evo’s and he didn’t entirely trust anyone who use to work for Primatech. “Anyway let me cut to the chase the entire CIA detail that was sent to investigate her vanished the same day as well, and something tells me if she was just some dumb drugged out college bimbo she wouldn’t have been able to wipe out highly trained Government agents. The CIA of course tried to cover up their fuck up and the unknowingly hampered our investigation since in their effort to cover their own asses they got rid of valuable information including the security footage from Blaire’s apartment. Although that was probably because they planned to take her away still apparently they weren’t prepared enough because there gone. I’m going to investigate Elena Reese and see what I can dig up on this case, I’ll assign two of my best men to keep an eye on her for the rest of my stay in California to see if she makes any suspicious movements. She’s registered and her record’s clean but I know she has to know something or at least she’ll be able to help us learn something. I’ve alerted Quantum agents across the globe to be on the look-out for Blaire’s car I got her records and managed to figure out the last vehicle she owned in her name. If we manage to locate her vehicle we might be able to locate Anderson if she’s still around that is, I just want you to know Senator that even though there’s been no progress in the past month I won’t let you down I will find out what happened to the school and I will avenge those kids deaths.” Max looked up at Elizabeth staring at her with a serious look hoping she would approve of his new mission and agree to let Noah handle Disneyland.

Angela Petrelli, Petrelli Mansion - Manhattan, New York

The Petrelli Mansion was once a place of joy for Angela Petrelli, back when her family was together. Back she was one of the leading members of the Company, back before Claire exposed them all, before Nathan went to the Government to deal with their kind after learning the truth about his father, her husband, and their family. She sat alone in the dim lit dining room looking at a picture of her deceased son Nathan, and some of his other possessions were on the table.

“You would have been proud of the way Claire turned out Nathan, she did the very thing you wanted to do the most. Bring us out into the open I can’t say I agreed very much with you two in that regard but then again it was bound to happen. The Company was falling apart, a former shell of itself long before it came to this. Sometimes I wonder would it really have been all that bad if we’d just went along with what Linderman said and let the city explode…” Angela frowned such talk was a reason why many people thought she was a monster. With the way her life had gone she was beginning to wonder if perhaps they were right, she was a monster the only difference between her and Arthur in the end she speculated was that she actually cared about someone other then herself. Still did that really excuse her actions, plenty of evil people throughout history had significant others and some they cared about. Perhaps you were right Charles, maybe we should have all strived to be more like Peter…perhaps things wouldn’t ave turned out this way.

These days Angela was deep in regret Nathan was gone and Peter had run off to keep trying to save the world again even though for every disaster they managed to avert ten more popped up in it’s place even worst then the conflict the managed to dissipate. She sighed and reached for her phone if Peter hadn’t given up there was no reason for her to either. She went to her contacts and pulled up Noah before calling.

“Noah it’s me we need to talk I’m sure your busy….but I’ve had another dream..and not of the pleasant variety either. Something is coming, something bad. I believe that my fears about Peter have been justified..he’s been missing for days and regardless of his feelings towards me and the mistakes I’ve made ever since we’ve all started working together he’s maintained constant communication. But I know you can do little to help me find my son..that’s not why I’ve called Bennet, I know there’s no one in this world who wishes to hear my woes. The Dream I had..I Saw something that can only be described as horrific. I Saw some sort of satellite going up into space, a girl was screaming in pain she was strapped into some sort of chair, and then the worst. I saw the entire world, and darkness enveloping the entire globe, and I don’t think it was symbolic either. Because right after the darkness I saw visions of various armies mobilizing around the world, and then I saw us..our people being shot down, killed in the streets, stabbed, beaten, burned, it was brutal, and the kicker right before the darkness I saw…her..that Senator Elizabeth Reyes smiling standing on the podium giving her speech about how she’d do a wonderful job as President and afterwards…she left to go speak to some man the name Stross was mentioned as well as some others and they pointed to a Calendar and mentioned that the day was coming when the Evo situation would finally be put to rest. That day was November 12, 2012 and in the words of that Stross individual Dark Monday for Evo’s. “

Angela paused to let this apocalyptic information seep into Noah’s mind to let him realize the gravity of the situation before she spoke again. “Noah..we need to start making preparations for the worst, What I saw was nothing less the the genocide of our people, and that’s less then three months from now, a week after the presidential election. Reyes, and the rest of Quantum is planning something, something awful. Peter vanished the last I heard he said he’d figured out a way to regain his powers, this was shortly before..Sylar departed claiming it was pointless to try to save this world..claiming we were all damned but I figured he just wasn’t handling his “relationship” with Claire finally being over. You know as much as you hated the idea..of that..man…taking a romantic interest in Claire he was the strongest of us left and he’s departed, and I Worry for Hiro’s fate as well ever since he went to the future to figure out how to save us he hasn’t been heard from..and I just lost contact with Suresh yesterday…right as he told me he was on the verge of some ground-breaking research that would change everything. It’s a pattern…Quantum may claim to have made their peace with me after I sold the remnants of Primatech to them but that’s merely a facade clearly. We’re being picked off one by one watch yourself Noah, we need to find out whatever Dark Monday is, and do everything in our power to stop it…or else..it’ll be the end for all of us even Claire.” Angela spoke with a sense of imminent dread but wanted to drive the point that Noah was going to have to speed up his double agent operation and get some concrete evidence on what Quantum was really cooking up if they had any hopes of saving the Evo’s.

Evan Kingsfield, Miami Florida

“The Time IS NOW! IT’s time for us to rise up, and I don’t mean evo’s or normals or even Americans I mean humanity. Time and time again we’ve allowed tragedies to be committed against each other, atrocities that we look back on and wonder how could those people be so cruel. Well I’m here to tell you were in the midst of one of the worst ones of entire history, an entire population being sentenced to damnation all because of their difference’s, because their the pinnacle of evolution? We should be working together with them to make a difference in the world! I tell you all there will come a day when you will suffer for the sins you’ve committed against your fellow men! And to think there are those that claim to be God fearing individuals who support this. The Church of the Children of Azrael is nothing more then a dangerous cult that does nothing to promote the true tenants of Christianity!! If you dare to call yourself a follower of my God, then you cannot by any means support any of this going!” An older gentleman spoke and behind him where a group of people.

This man was a controversial minister Allan Brown who spoke out on several subjects and now he was commenting on Evo sympathizers. He’d organized a rally in down-town Miami and even had some Evo’s behind him as well as some other evo sympathizers he’d gathered. Thanks to his connections he managed to get this broad-casted despite the fact the Government did not want him on the air. Brown’s speech had of course attracted those who did not share his views, several people in-fact who’d come to shut him down.

However he ignored the torrent of curses and slurs being thrown out as he continued his speech he wanted his message to be seen by everyone, and he knew it was making it’s way to social media. However it seemed his time of ignoring this was coming to an end when the sound of whirring blades was heard in the sky as helicopters were approaching from the sky while armored trucks were coming nearby and a man in a suit with a mega-phone was stepping out of one of them.

“This is a direct order from the Department of Homeland Security Evo Division. Allan Brown you are hereby under arrest for disturbing the peace, harboring un-registered Evo’s, and conspiracy against the U.S Government! This will not be tolerated, step down or you will be dealt with by force.”

Allan looked at the DHS agent and glared at him with eyes of rage. “YOU! I will not be silenced! You people think with your suits, and weapons you can control me? I only listen to one authority, and he’s not a man who would approve of this brutality, this evil! These people are not monsters, they are law abiding citizens who’ve done nothing wrong but refused to subjugate themselve’s to what amounts to modern day Jim Crow laws! Enough is enough, oppression is never the answer, in the end they will -“ The Minister was cut off when a bullet was shot through his stomach and he stumbled back, someone from the crowd had fired a shot.

“Shut up you Evo loving freak!!!! DIE” Cheers where heard from the crowd as the minister stumbled back, and the scene was quickly dissolving into one of panic. One of the evo’s near the minister rushed to grab him, while another’s eyes glowed pink and suddenly an explosion took place in the middle of the crowd while the Evo that had Allan in his hands took flight. Panic and chaos spread as people began trying to flee, while others charged towards the stage wanting to get their hands on the Evo’s.

The Department of Homeland Security jumped into the situation as well as one of the helicopters unleashed a torrent of bullets taking down the flying evo before he could gain much altitude. The result was one dead Evo falling several feet into the stage crashing with the bleeding minister in his arms who instead of yelling out in pain seemed to be praying. “Eliminate Brown’s entourage, lethal force is permited!” The agent who spoke on the mega-phone yelled out as the helicopters rained down assault. Soldiers emerged from the armored truck with high powered assault rifles and began shooting at the stage, while the bulk of the protestors fled the scene once they saw the Government was getting involved. Powers and ammunition were being thrown around, bodies were dropping left and right, it was a scene of chaos.

“This shit is crazy…” Evan reached for his laptop and presse down on the screen pad freezing the video. This happened two days ago, right as he’d made his way into Miami following up on the story of a life time. He didn’t expect for something even crazier to take place, it was all over the news. “Mentally unstable minister tries to lead uprising against the U.S Government, brutal fight between Homeland Security and Brown’s terroristic entourage leaves many bodies in it’s wake including innocent U.S Citizens who came to stand up for their country. “ Evan looked at the head lines and shook his head.

He was never a fan of the Government always believing they were up to no good but this was insanity. Sure the Evo’s were dangerous, he had to admit as much as he felt the evo registration act was violating several laws it might have been somewhat of a necessity especially after the entire high school in L.A was wiped out. He’d heard quite a few rumors that the Government was doing some nasty shit to Evo’s, but then again there was rumors that the presidential candidate Elizabeth Reyes who hated Evo’s more then most was one of them. He was no politician but he danced around their circles and there was too much bullshit to ever decipher the truth without visual evidence.

“Fuck..it’s like I can’t even tell who’s the lesser of the two evils the crazy minister trying to say we should let weapons of mass destruction have freedom or the Feds going to shoot them up with civilians around. And these fucking sheep are supporting the suits.” Evan sighed there was so much wrong with the country, and he always seemed to find like minded individuals who agreed yet when stuff like this went down they supported the Men in black over their freedoms.

“If It wasn’t for the way my bank account was looking there’s no way I would have taken this story.. that and there’s some beautiful women out here..hopefully the feds don’t go and shoot them up too.” Evan sort of chuckled but quickly regretted it as really wasn’t funny. He got word of a story from a mysterious individual who deposited $100 grand into his bank account and promised him another $400 grand if he packed his bags left D.C and went to go look into this story.

The money alone was incentive as well as his obsessive drive to find the truth, but when he actually looked into the information his mysterious employer gave him he was really into it. Ever since the school in L.A was wiped out he’d been interested in doing stories involving Evo’s, and been researching various events over the last seven years which were un-explained which he believed had potential to be attributed to Evo’s.

He had put together various news articles, police reports, an other things on a board which he labeled the wall of weird. The main two that struck out to him where almost exactly the same in 1977 there was suppose to be a storm that wiped out the entire easter sea-board and again in 2008. Yet in both incidents some-how this supposedly apocalyptic storm was reduced to nothing but a severe blizzard. Divine intervention? Perhaps but he wasn’t a man of the book, at least not any that had been written so far. Perhaps there was a God out there some-where but he doubted it was like any described in most modern religions. He figured it had to be something to do with powers, and strangely enough the employer one of his requests was that he start his investigation in Florida. Coincidence, not to him everything had to be connected.

He’d gotten wind of what was going down in Disneyland from one of his co-workers who claimed he was working a story that was gonna net him big money if he exposed whatever Evo caused that to the Government. Hmm..you think you’ve got something big, I’m looking into someone with the power to wipe out the entire eastern sea-board yet chose to save it. Looks like Miami’s got it’s own guardian angel, and I’m gonna find em. I don’t know what exactly I’m suppose to find out here but I’m guessing that, and the riots that happened two days ago..I’m in the right place. Sides another 400 grand sounds fabulous…I can see it now popping expensive bottles of champaign in some upscale club with some slutty european models who want to make a real American man proud. Ooooh yeah I’m defiantly gonna chase some tail tonight, hit a girl with a …shit..the Evo’s are going to wipe us out any day soon might as well have sex with me. Evan grinned above all he loved him some booze and sex. Sure he was on official business but that was one of the perks of this life-style he could mix business and with pleasure and none would be the wiser. He went over to dresser where some of his files were and picked up his cup of coffee before taking a sip. “Hmm that hit the spot, time to go find the truth. “

Jason Koravil, Evo Detention Facility - Los Angeles California

Jason stood in the distance dressed in some T.R.U. religion jeans in a plain black T Shirt on and some timberlands staring at the prison facility for Evo’s. These facilities were not hidden from the world, people with abilities were dangerous and couldn’t be put in prisons. Quantum Industries had come up with the perfect prisons and after striking a lucrative deal with the prison industry the rest as history.

It was all about money, and being a hustler himself Jason couldn’t fault them for that. Greed was something he could relate too only when it didn’t benefit him then he was irritated. Sure some would say he was nothing more then a hypoorit after all he made the bulk of his finances not from his music but from pushing narcotics. But then again was that really his fault, his father was falsely accused of trafficking, his mother suffered from a mental break-down and he couldn’t support himself and his sisters working at a clothing store. Jason stared at the facility then looked up at the sky lost in thoughts about how his life had all gone wrong. He had a promising future thanks to his parents, the sky was the limit.

Well not anymore, see now he had no limits thanks to the gift he’d been blessed with. “The Superpredators…shitty..ass fucking name but I fuck with the concept. People like us we’re great, well not as great as Jason Koravil, but there better then the rest of these peasants.” Jason smiled taking a deep breath then exhaling.

He was in love with one thing…power..well money..but power was his first love. Thanks to his power he could feel all the energy surging around him. So much energy..and he could sense and see it all. It was incredible, and to think eh use to be limited by the regular five senses. No longer was that the case he could see the electrical energy surging through the detention facility, the kinetic energy of cars racing through the streets, the life energy of various people walking around, so much energy he felt like Drake.

“IT’s time.” Jason’s body began to surge with energy as his eyes glowed and he began yelling as he began drawing in energy from all around him. Right after he focused on the facility and unleashed a massive wave of gravitational energy ripping the roof of the facility and tossing it into the sky causing it to fly. He laughed as he watched the roof fly and crash into a building a few miles away tearing through it no doubt hurting and even killing several. “Another one..or couple bites the dust..but I’m not even done yet.” Jason laughed still surging with energy as he could hear alarms blaring from the facility. He began to hover off the ground looking at the sun and held out his arms basking in the sun’s rays as he began drawing in immense amounts of solar energy.

Then a blinding flash of light surrounded him and the surrounding area. Energy surging around him and as the light faded one massive beam slammed into the facility and an explosion was seen decimating over half of it. Screams of agony where heard, and suddenly more beams of light rained down from the sky onto the facility decimating parts of it. Dust and rubble filled the atmosphere due to his vicious attack on the facility, and suddenly everyone could hear loud seemingly omnipresent voice.

Go my people you are free, your oppressors have been silenced, the ability negation systems attached to you have been deactivated, FLEE! You have seen humanity’s true colors seen what they truly think of us and what they intend to do to us. Now I’ve granted you your freedom and all that I ask is that stand with me..and fight. Fight against our oppressors, all around the world there are Evo’s just like you who are been granted a second chance not to stand idle by and hide but to fight..TO FIGHT AND TO WIN!!!! GO MY PEOPLE look around you my power as eliminated your oppressors yet somehow you’ve survived that’s because of my power I put forth a field to save you from the onslaught now I’ve granted you freedom, I’ve granted you life..do with that what you will..but..if you ever seek to fight…seek me out..I am The Guardian, and I will protect my people.

The Voice rang out and the Evo’s realizing they were free began cheering. They began fleeing and in the distance reinforcements were on the way, sirens were blaring. As the dust settled in the distance Jason was seen standing brushing some sweat off his forehead. “And now to go to work.” Jason grinned and took out a card that said Quantum Industries employee card on it with his name and some of his personal information. “Now this is a job I can live with, and they say it’s not wise to play both sides. Right.” Jason smirked and suddenly drawing on gravitational energy again as well as kinetic he took flight at superhuman speeds vanishing in the blink of an eye leaving behind the wreckage of what was once California’s Quantum headquarters.

Clicking his fingers against the desk, Casper's eyes made their way to the window beside him rather than the teacher on the other end of the room. It was math, a subject the boy had great difficulties with but didn't seem to give much thought over, either. As his fingertips connected with the cold, wooden foundation of the desk, Casper's thoughts traveled like they so often did. Was every country like this? America was passionate to say the least and had a tendency of taking things way too far. Religious fundamentalists scoured the entire southern part of the country and power hungry politicians were ready to sell their own mothers if it meant winning a pole. "Probably the same shit everywhere..." Casper turned his dark brown eyes to the teacher for a moment, looking at the equation she had managed on the whiteboard. X times Y divided by whatever, raised to who gives a fuck minus I don't care. With a soft sigh, Casper rested his chin against the palm of his hand and returned to the window. It was a rather pleasant view, after all. Not the best, of course, but the abundance of green grass called to him in a way he thought was rather understandable. One could imagine the harmony of laying in the grass a warm summer afternoon or hiding beneath the shadow of a tree with a soda in hand. Yes, the boy was quite addicted to the drink, always a soda in hand when he had the chance. Of course, economy came in the way of that most of the time and his mother didn't exactly help out. Most of their money fell into drugs and she snorted it up before she knew what hit her.

Casper had never touched the stuff. He was liberal enough not to see drugs themselves as an issue. He didn't actually care about the substance, but like everything in life it should be done responsibly. However, just like with alcohol, his mother had disgusted him far beyond what he could tolerate. If he ever wanted to try alcohol or other drugs, it had been majorly ruined for him. Now, he'd never go close to the stuff. "How long til' I move out...?" All he wanted was to be free. He wanted to be freed of his mother, of the restraints society was putting on him, of the school he was forced to. He wanted to be freed from this reality because no matter where he looked, all he could see was another wall. "Wish I could punch through em' all..." Logically he could punch through a wall, but it would probably lead to a lot more than damage control. One more physical slip up from the boy and he'd end up somewhere he really didn't want to be.

"Mr. Vaile." The teacher crossed her arms, her glaring eyes drilling holes in their target.

"Yes?" The boy responded casually, seeing her raising an eyebrow at him.

"Am I boring you?"

"No, Miss."

"Then pay attention." She returned to the lesson. What a drag. This class essentially narrowed his life down , boring and drawn out. He had to pay attention to things he didn't care for and he needed to smile while doing it. Soon enough, class came to a conclusion and the boy was let out of the classroom along with the other students.

"Hey, Cassy boy!" Again? It started to seem like today would be the day where things were taken too far. Casper needed a pick me up and fast, otherwise things could go to hell very soon.

"What?" Casper shot back at Mitchell who approached him with a grin, two other students accompanying him.

"I wanted to repay ya' for this morning!" Was he referring to the push? The guy was pathetic.

"Mhm..."

"Look, I know you want to kill us, right?" Mitchell chuckled, leaning against the lockers with his arms crossed. His two friends were there for what appeared to be protection and little else. Quite ironic how no matter where you go, bullies are bullies and guards are guards. The only thing that changes is the hardware. "So how about this, right? After school, we can meet up in the abandoned construction site not too far from here and settle shit once and for all. How about it, huh? I know you like a good fight."

"Fuck you." If only he knew how badly Casper wanted to accept the challenge. He wanted to plant his fist in their faces repeatedly, but if anyone found out about that, his life would come to an end somewhere on an island with a cell designed to keep him inside.

"Aw, you chicken?"

"Piss off." Turning to leave, Casper felt a hand placed on his shoulder and immediately reacted. Spinning back to Mitchell, the boy grabbed hold of the larger student's forearm and was just about to break it before he managed to regain his composure and let go. "Don't ever fucking touch me."

"See? He can't do it!" Mitchell laughed, nudging his friends. "Come on, Casper. Punch me! We both know you can punch a hole in my fucking chest."

"I would..." The boy clenched his teeth, his patience dropping to a dangerous level.

"Then do it!" Mitchell stretched his arms out. He knew that Casper couldn't cross that line. Sending Casper to an Evo prison was the ultimate 'fuck you' Mitchell could achieve. If Casper obliged and obliterated Mitchell's ribs, the only loser would be Casper.

"is there a problem here?" A third voice entered the conversation. It was a teacher. "Don't you four have a class to get to?"

"Yeah..." The smallest of the bunch responded, throwing his bag over his shoulder before he started towards his next class.

"Think it over, Cassy boy!" Mitchell laughed, his annoying laughter filling the corridor like a screeching nightmare.

"As we stand here today! Our savior works his miracles in his mysterious and amazing ways! A few months ago, the lord found us a way to see the snakes hiding in our grass! Slithering across the soil of our beloved country!" A young brown skinned woman with attractive exotic features spoke to a crowd of people who believed her to be an emissary of their lord. Her powerful voice was carried by the beauty of her appearance. She dressed in an all white female tailored suit. She waved her free hand wildly to show the passion in her words as she held the microphone with the other.

The crowd cheered with their fists shooting high in the air within the small church where they had gathered. They were filled with hate for all things Evo and believed them all to be spawns of hell. This group known as the Children of Azrael were called many things on the media; Cultists, Extremists, Terrorists, but they saw themselves as the sword of their god that would cleanse the world of Evos.

"And now that the Lord has finally shown us who these snakes are, what have we done? Our so called government who aim to protect us let only restrict the abominations! The Lord has spoken to me and still does now! Echoing the names of these scornful devils that are left to live in the sinful way they do! He tells me that we cannot and will not wait! That we must not stand by! We know our enemy! And with this knowledge, we will destroy our enemy! We will cleanse not only our soil, but the soil of our neighbors and rid the world of these snakes forever! For the Lord is our shepherd and we shall make sure his garden is cleansed!!!" She roared as the crowd went wild. She smiled humbly at her disciples and nodded as she got ready to set her plan in motion. She would see to it that Evos are unborn.

Elena Reese
Los Angeles, California

Elena had spent the next four hours in classes, though her mind had been wondering off the whole day and didn't pay much attention to the lecture that her professor had been giving. She quietly played around with her pen while occasionally getting weird glances in her direction from her fellow classmates, people knew that she was an evo since she was registered. But due to her clean record so far Elena was able to attend Glendale Community College. Her mind kept wondering mainly due to some files that she managed to find from her friend Blaire who had disappeared since the day of the high school attack. She wouldn't suspect that her own friend had actually did it, but Elena managed to store all the files she had on a small portable drive which she had kept hidden somewhere only she would know in her apartment. Maybe she would look into those files later on today, the moment Elena's lesson was over and the last class of the day was over Elena started to head out.

Elena looked down at her watch she had a few hours to kill before heading home, she decided to go and grab some lunch, while she drove Elena had the radio on there were two more evo related attacks. "Earlier today a young student who happened to be an unregistered Evo in Newberry Springs attacking a fellow classmate. There was a witness another young student by the name of Riley Smith, though teachers and staff haven't given us very many details as well as the police. The student that was attacked was sent to the hospital in critical condition, we will reveal more of this horrific incident later. In other news a Quantum detention facility has been attacked by evo's killing several while evos started fleeing the scene we will reveal more as well as the situation evolves." Elena sighed after hearing the two news stories and quickly shut off the radio.

Elena stopped at a local Burger King she ordered a large drink as well as a medium fries and some chicken fries. It wasn't far from her apartment Elena quickly made it back to her apartment holding the bag for her lunch in her hand. Elena opened her door and noticed a note was left at her door she leaned forward and picked up the letter and opened it.

"Elena,

I was curious about your powers. I'm not like most people who discriminate against those who have evolved, I'm fascinated and would like to talk some time if you don't mind.

Jack, from apartment 36

Her whole apartment knew that she was an evo and most didn't even want to do anything with her and it was the first time that someone had actually reached out to her. Though she was slightly suspicious of the random letter, she did know Jack but not a whole lot only passing by him either on her way to classes or doing her own laundry. Elena sighed she didn't have anything else to do, but she walked over towards a corner of her apartment and removed a small airvent seeing the small portable drive was still there where she had hid it and quickly put it back into its place.

Elena left her apartment setting her lunch down on her table before she left and made her way over towards Jack's apartment which was on the other end of the hallway and gave the door a few knocks.

Riley Smith
Newberry Springs, California

Riley had been sitting in the principle's office for over two hours now the police officer's were getting statements from everyone what had happened The officers had been asking her a lot of questions. "Did you know either of them, did she know that he was an evo? What caused the attack?" Asked one of the officers, Riley was still shaking slightly and nervous were they going to ask her for a blood test would she be sent off to some evo facility to be studied? Of course before she could say anything Riley's mother had come into the room with a lawyer, Riley's mother stared directly at the officers questioning her daughter as well as the principle. "My client's daughter wont be asking anymore questions today, she has witnessed something very traumatic." He said Riley looked at the officers who looked at one another before sighing loudly. "Alright she can go, but we will still need to have her ask a few questions later." One of the officers said.

"C'mon sweetie lets go." Riley's mother said as she quickly stood up and started to head out of her school. "Thank you again." Riley's mother said to the lawyer who was a family friend, he simply nodded and gently patted Riley on the head. "See you later and no problem." He turned around and headed back towards his car. There were some news crew already there asking what had been going on, Riley was quickly rushed into her mother's car. "Are you alright Riley?" Her mother asked with a concerned look in her eyes, she nodded slightly. "Yeah I guess.." Riley was always very shy and after seeing what happened she wished she could unsee it.

"I'm glad you are alright, just relax the rest of the day." It was a few minutes later then Riley was at her house again and quickly went towards her bedroom and laid down on her bed, letting out a loud sigh she just stared up at the ceiling it had been a rather short and rough school day for her.

Senator Elizabeth Reyes
Los Angeles, California

Elizabeth sat in the back of her car reading through reports of a very recent attack on one of her own facilities within the city and gently rubbed the bridge of her nose with a rather loud and annoyed sigh. It was going to take a lot of man power to find all of the escape evos from the facility. Then she heard the car door open and saw Max Stross entering the car along with his team getting into the armored truck behind them Elizabeth chuckled at his comment. Little did he know that she was an evo herself, though it was a very well kept secret she hid from most of her employees. She didn't trust telling Max that she was one herself knowing his stance on evos, he even hated the evos that worked under her and he would only work with non evo teams. "You know I am not into that sort of thing Max." Elizabeth said as the driver started to drive and leave the busy airport

And cutting right to the chase, she knew Max wasn't one for politics and preferred going around with guns blazing, Elizabeth listened to Max he had a lead on who actually attacked the high school. When he pulled up Elena's file she took a close look at it, a class three evo with electrokinis, college student, and part time worker. "Very good Max, I will be sure to give you a raise on the info you managed to dig up." She shut off his computer and handed it back to him. "I wanted to let you know that we are still on schedule for Dark Monday, but as you know Molly had recently killed herself just to avoid capture from our agents. Sifting through the files we still haven't found anyone matching the ability it was designed for which is the bad news no one we have found matches what we need. So after you finish looking into Reese, then I want you to start searching for that we are on a time crunch now. And I will be out of town by tonight hitting the campaign trail, so keep be apprized on what you find." Elizabeth said as the car came to a stop in an alleyway to let Max off. "And bring in Reese if you have to." She said opening the door for Max. Once Max was out Elizabeth's car started to drive off down the alleyway.

Noah Bennet
Anaheim, California

Noah Bennet drove towards Disneyland where Max had told him to go, he watched some videos what had happened there a fire on one of the floats, and several of the guests and staff passing out from heat exhaustion. He looked down as he heard his phone going off, it was Angela Petrelli and quickly answered it. "Hi Angela, what is it?" Noah asked as he stopped his car at a red light he was about ten minutes away now from the park, already there were dozens of ambulances and police cars already driving to and from the scene. He listened to her rather closely "I am a bit busy on a Quantum assignment looking into whats causing the problem at Disneyland." Noah started driving forward again as he finally got into the parking lot.

Noah got out of his car and could feel the heat already, as Angela started bringing up her latest apocalyptic vision and what happened. He knew Max pretty well but never trusted the man, and rarely ever met Elizabeth Reyes, but the two had been planning something it wasn't good either. "After this assignment i'll start looking into things, and i'll call you once I have more information. If anyone else contacts you let me know. I shall call you whenever I find out more what Quantum has planned" Noah said as he hung up the phone. Noah quickly took off his jacket and started making his way towards the front gates of Disneyland. Looking up at everything Noah started to think how Claire would like it here when she was younger.

As he got closer an officer asked for ID, which Noah presented his Quantum ID badge and he was quickly led inside Noah started walking down the main street of the themepark searching for anything that would lead to whoever was doing this.

Poking the food with his fork, Casper couldn't help but release a soft sigh as his eyes examined the spagetti bolognese. Each strand of pasta had been mixed together with the meat sauce and created quite a delicious combination but exterior issues removed much of Casper's appetite. Shouldn't Evos stick together? The entire world stood against them as it was and it only made sense that Evos stuck by one another. Though, the world didn't appear to look like that. People like Mitchell were in abundance and made sure to be a thorn in everyone's side when 'normal' humans weren't around to take that role. "System's in place for shitheads like him..." It felt like every rule, every law, was in place for bullies to continue their crusade without being stopped. Some bullies only understood physical language with a fist in the face and Casper was quite fluent in it. However, standing up to a bully would only get you in trouble because that makes sense somehow. Now, as long as you attempt to ignore the person dipping your head in a toilet or throwing you into a locker, you're fine. The teacher won't go close to that scene with a stick.

Clenching his fist at the thought, Casper's fork bent under the pressure and he had to fix it quickly before anyone saw what happened. "That was close..." He sighed out in relief. Indeed, laws and rules in Casper's daily life gave him only one impression and that was supporting tyranny. If it wasn't eradicating human rights, it was allowing bullies of every kind of sit on everyone else. Mitchell was on the bottom of the food chain with senators and presidents standing on top. They were all the same, and they all broke just as easily with enough pressure to the neck.

Every day was a step closer to a decision Casper would regret, it seemed. He had heard of several Evo cults and groups who are standing up against humanity but were their actions justified? He had heard of a religious sect that believed that Evos were the true face of God, that He had granted each and everyone of His children one of His own powers. If you were religious, that might have made sense. Then there was another sect that believed that Evos were the next stage in evolution, something Casper was quicker to get behind. They also believed that Evos needed to eradicate humans from the face of the earth like Homo Erectus had done towards the Neanderthals. Though, was that so wrong? The humans were doing just that, so why not strike back? Living in a neighborhood like Casper made it easy to hear about these sects in passing and he'd be lying if he said that he wasn't interested in them. It was unclear if he actually wanted to join something like that but they were interesting to hear about to say the least.

Was anyone else standing up for Evo rights? It was starting to feel like the time for peace and mercy was over, just like that politician had said. He was absolutely correct, and it appeared like a storm was coming. Of course, he was referring to the Evos, but that went both ways. In the end, would technology on the humans' side win, or would the devastating powers on the Evos side win? That technology was just as useful for the Evos, however. To sum it up, the Evos would probably win in terms of power but given the circumstances, humans by far out manned them. If humans weren't scared shitless, they wouldn't impose all of these laws and restrictions. They were poking a sleeping beast and one day that beast would wake up. Yes, it would lead to a lot of disaster but Casper was getting more and more eager to see it happen.

The day passed by rather fast after lunch. Casper didn't run into Mitchell again after the scene by the lockers and he was certainly not going to show up at the construction site after school. Yes, he wanted to implode Mitchell's face, nothing would make him happier, but that would also end Casper's freedom. Was it worth it? In the short run, of course it was, but in the long run, not so much. Mitchell wasn't worth sacrificing freedom for. Leaning his head against the window of the bus, Casper turned his music on and took a deep breath. That was another day done and over with, finally. "Gotta' cook when I get home n' throw the garbage out..." God knew his mother wasn't going to do anything about that.

Upon reaching the bus stop, Casper stepped off the vehicle and continued on the path to his house. It was all routine, something he had done often enough to repeat with his eyes closed. Such was life, after all. Slipping his keys into the door, Casper hung his bag on the coat hanger and slipped out of his shoes before entering the living room. "Hi, mom." He spoke, starting towards the kitchen. He didn't get a reply but assumed she was sleeping. Her arm was however exposed, a syringe laying on the rug beneath the couch. "Mom...?" Feeling his heartbeat accelerating, Casper hurried towards his mother and dropped down on his knees next to her. "Fuckin' hell, mom...wake up!" Placing his hands on her shoulders, the boy shook her desperately but to no avail. He pressed a pair of shaking fingers against her throat to feel her pulse and wide eyes would meet the realization. "M-mom..." Casper clenched his teeth, trying to regain his composure. The saying went as follows, you should be careful what you wish for, something Casper had gotten all too acquainted with now that he was on his knees next to his mother's vacant heartbeat. "Wake up, ma'! Stop screwin' around!" Shaking her again, the boy would have to come to terms with a reality he refused to accept.

His entire body trembling in terror, Casper fell to the floor, the tears now forcing their way down his cheeks as he was unable to register the situation. What was he going to do? Who was he going to call? Where was he going to go? Reaching for the phone on the table behind him, the boy attempted to call the emergency number. It began with a nine, his trembling finger making is way to one but accidentally came in contact with a five on the way. Damn it, he had to take a deep breath and try again. Nine, one, one, good. He managed to call the number, now placing the phone against his ear.

"M-my...my mom's...d-dead..." Uttering the sentence was enough to break him down. Casper didn't hear what the operator had said, his temple connecting with the floor as he balled up, unable to hide the cries now making their way into sound. It was indeed...one of those days.

Erin Marie Chase and Dean Mitchell

Anaheim, California ~ Disneyland

Everything was getting out of hand; that much was obvious. Anxiety was clear and heavy in the air as emergency services filled into the park, doing everything in their power to help the guests who had been asked by police and the government agents to stay within the park until they had been checked over completely... the whole situation was getting a lot more complicated than he first believed it to be- one little momentary lapse of judgement on her behalf, and this was how the world reacted..? No wonder there were so many people who had evolved who were fighting back- fighting back against the ridiculous and unjust laws that were forced down upon them... the mere thought of it all had Dean clenching his tightly, his greyish-blue eyes wandering about over the area that was just outside the souvenir store he had been in now for the last ten minutes or so. If the park hadn’t of been packed with people before; now it was almost completely overflowing... People from the police to the paramedics, people from the fire brigade... even men from the government.

Tightening the hold that he had over the bag he had spent about five minutes filling with food, drinks and few other items he thought would help calm her down, he took another moment to look around his person before finally, his feet once more began to carry him through the crowd and over the roundabout as he made his way back to where he had left her; his gaze flicking up to glance at one of the many windows in Cinderella’s castle, and a worried look dawning over his features as he caught sight of the curtain moving. The castle itself was basically something taken out of the fairy tale; though what most people didn’t know was that it wasn’t just sitting there for show. The whole top floor was a giant suit... built just for Walt Disney and his family to use while they were visiting the park- though after his death, it lay untouched. Only ever used on the rarest of occasions, and other than that... the room was left empty by all including the staff who worked within the park.

Ignoring the ‘staff only’ sign as he grew closer, Dean pulled the door open just enough for him to slip through and over to the other side, making sure that it was closed behind him before he headed up the staircase and back into the Princess suite; the sound of Erin’s panicked voice hitting his ears causing a gentle though ever worried sigh to fall out through his lips- she was freaking out... though it was understandable. While back home in Australia she had no issues controlling her abilities; here in America... she couldn’t control it here; it was a different situation all together from any that they had ever faced before. But just like every other time... they would do it together.

“Oh my god... I’m dead- I am so, so dead... those people... those poor people; they didn’t deserve any of this...”

“Hey now... don’t say that- and you shouldn’t be hanging around the window either... it’s only going to make you feel worse the more you do that; and hey, this isn’t your fault- you were just trying to help.” Reaching his arm out to drop the bag down onto the bed, Dean hurried across the room and over to where she was standing in front of the window, her body visibly shaking as she looked out at all the people moving about the park; furrowing his brows in concern as he came to a stop behind her, he reached his hand out to take a gentle hold of hers, waiting until she had let go of the curtain before he slowly turned her to face him completely, his eyes searching hers for answers he wasn’t sure he was going to get, but then... he was sure that she wouldn’t be able to get any from his either.

“But... but it’s true...” One look into his eyes... one look into his eyes and she knew for a fact that he didn’t believe that everything was going to be okay. He was trying to be strong- strong for her sake; but this was more trouble than either of them had ever been in before, and honestly... it was clear that neither of them knew how to handle what was happening to the both of them, “I-I screwed up today, Dean... badly and-... and because of that; they’re going to find me, and I’m going to be taken away. My life as we know it is ove-...”

“Enough..!” His words came out harsher than he had meant for them to as he looked down at her, cutting her off completely before she even got a chance to finish the sentence that had been formulating in her mind- she was letting her emotions get the better of her again, and that never ended well... Closing his eyes for a brief moment, he took pause to take a deep breath, being sure to calm himself before slowly, he pulled her into his chest; both of his arms slipping around her body as he held her as close as he could, his thumb brushing back and forth in a soothing manner, “..enough Erin... just enough, okay..?”

Shaking her head lightly from side to side as she felt a familiar sting flicker across the surface of her eyes, Erin took a single step closer to him, her hands coming up to take a firm grip of the front of his shirt as her shoulders hunched forward, her head stooping down to rest within the crook of his neck, her voice coming out slightly muffled as she spoke once more, her warm breath flowing out over his flesh causing the tips of his ears to redden slightly, “T-This is all my fault, Dean... what was I thinking; wanting to come to Disneyland like this... My parents-... oh god, they’re going to be so disappointed in me- and I’m never going to be able to finish my course either after this...”

“Shh... everything’s going to be fine, I promise.” Sliding one of his hands up her back, he let it rest lightly upon the back of her head, his own eyes shutting as he gently nuzzled the top of her head, his lips pressing against her hair for a few moments of silence before he once more spoke; his voice soft and soothing as he tried his best to reassure her, “..they won’t take you- I won’t let them take you... like I told you before; we’re going to get through this together..."

Pausing a moment, he tightened the hold he had around her body, pulling her ever closer against him as if to press the point that he wasn't willing to let her go anytime soon.

"I’m not gunna let you go so easily, Erin...”

Michael Thomas
Island Prison, Atlantic Ocean

"How are you doing this?!" Veronica shouted through the screen. She couldn't believe the man could be this desperate. "Mr. Thomas! Whatever you think... Fuck!" Veronica cursed as the video call was dropped. Veronica quickly grabbed her phone and quickly dialed for her supervisor. The woman breathed hastily as she felt her career go into jeopardy. The woman couldn't help but tremble with not only fear, but anger as well. How could I be so stupid?! What do I tell them?! What... Her thoughts were interrupted by the voice on there phone line.

"What do you need Grayson?" A man with an English accent asked calmly. He could already hear Veronica's heavy breathing which was unlike her. Something was definitely wrong. "What's going on?" He pressed as he wanted to know what was causing her this much distress. Patrick was normally a cold man, but hearing someone who was as calm and collected as Veronica panic made him worry.

"He's escaping! Michael Thomas is escaping the island!" She shouted.

Meanwhile, Michael walked across the sand and towards the ocean. The shallow waves chopped wildly as fins and tails broke the surface of the water.

The young man would have loved to bask in his own glory, but he simply could not waste time. He was sure the Evo Division was going to contact Quantum, and Quantum was going to come to his location like a bat out of hell. With that in mind, he jogged into the water with what he called the "calvary"... bottle nosed dolphins.

Get me out of here! Michael commanded as he grabbed a hold of one of the dolphin's dorsal fins. Who would have known? This has to be more than luck... Michael thought to himself as he was pulled across the ocean. At that moment he thought back to how he had made his discovery of being able to sway the minds of even animals after being placed on that island. And when he thought back on this, he really had to thank Quantum for putting him there. It was like they gave him a brand new skill on his skill tree of power. Sure, there were limits to what he could command the gang of dolphins to do, but for Michael, it had been groundbreaking! "Hey Quantum! Come and catch me!" He roared in excitement.

Elena Reese and Jack Harper
Los Angeles, California

Jack was sitting on his couch watching some tv when he heard a knock on the door. He turned off his tv and walked to the door. Just to be sure it was who he thought it was, he looked through the peep hole. It looked like she had gotten the note. He unlocked his door and opened it for Elena.

"Hey, I'm glad to see you, come in and have a seat if you'd like" he said with an upbeat tone. After today she would be the only person on the planet to know his secret.

Elena stood in front of the door for a few seconds, before finally the door opened and smiled slightly at Jack. "Thank you." Elena said as she took a step into his apartment and looked around, she was still very cautious about revealing her ability to him. She walked over and sat down on his couch looking over at Jack. "So what would you like to know about me and my ability?" Elena asked as she leaned back into the seat.

Jack sat down halfway between her and the end of the couch so that he didn't seem like he was sitting too close. "Well I was curious about what you can do. Everyone in the apartment complex knows you're an evolved human. So firstly I would like to know what your ability is. If you don't mind of course." Jack was eager to learn what kind of ability she possessed.

Elena ran a hand through her hair and looked at Jack for a moment, she could tell that he was just genuinely curious. "Alright then." Elena said softly as she extended her hand out forward and closed her eyes for a few seconds as she concentrated, then an arc of electricty left her finger tips as the lights around Jack's apartment started flickering and then it quickly stopped. "I basically can create and manipulate electricty or anything that has an electric current."

"How absolutely remarkable. Won't you get in trouble using your power though? Either way I'm glad to have seen it. There is so much potential in your ability. Seeing your ability has given me the courage to tell you something that no one else in the world knows about myself. I too am an evo Elena. That's why I asked to talk with you." He paused giving a moment for that little bit of information to settle in.

"I wont unless you have cameras bugged around here or something or you go and report me, as long as no one doesnt see me use it I should be fine." Elena answered Jack, then she raised her eyebrows slightly, she hadnt met another evo herself aside from the various news stories going around. "Well since I did my show and tell, why dont you show me then?" Elena asked leaning forward her interest peaked even more.

"Fair enough" Jack said with a slight chuckle. "It's a little hard to demonstrate, but it's biological manipulation." Jack held his hand out then thought about a way he could demonstrate his ability. "This may be slightly creepy but this is the only way to really show you." with that being said he shot out 4 small spikes of solidified blood "like the name suggests I can manipulate anything that's biological. That's a more gruesome use of my power. I used this ability to fool the quantum industries testing by altering my own DNA. I can heal by manipulating the speed of mitosis in my body. There's so much I can do already and so much more I can achieve. But aside from you nobody knows thanks to my ID saying I'm a human." it was such a relief to finally have someone he didn't have to hide his ability from and lie to.

Elena looked down at Jack's hand as he held it out and stared at it as four spikes of solidified blood came out of his hand and slightly shivered at the sight of it. But it looked like it was an exteremly useful ability. "That is really useful you could go anywhere a regular person would without powers." Elena said looking at him and smiled she didnt feel lonely at all anymore now that there was someone who was also an evo in her apartment.

"It is helpful being able to fly under their radar. I just feel so bad for those who have to undergo their absurd rules and regulations. I should be under the same restrictions as any other evolved human. Actually if they would have found out I'm an evo I'm not sure I would ever see the light of day again. I must say it's quite a relief to have someone to talk to about this. Ever since they started the testing I've kept to myself, being as cautious as possible knowing my fate. I just wish there was something I could do to help other evolved humans such as you and I." he said with a slightly morose tone. All he ever wanted to do was be helpful and he couldn't figure out how he could help his own kind yet.

"Its good that you are using your ability to stay hidden, thats what I would do if I had something like yours." Elena leaned forward and looked at Jack. "I think in time we would all eventually get along. These rules are ridiculous I cant even go out and enjoy a drink if I wanted." Elena sighed her eyes meeting his. "Well I am happy to meet a fellow evo in my apartment." She looked down at her watch as she remembered and forgot about her lunch back at her own apartment. "I better get going, if you want to come over sometime you know where I live." Elena said as she stood up from Jack's couch and headed out and down the hallway back to her own place.

After she left he sat for a moment in silence and thought. While he was beginning to stare off into space he noticed a strand of hair that must have fallen while she was here. Why he noticed it he did not know, but his curiosity got the best of him. He picked up the strand of hair and began studying the very DNA of his new friend. Given enough time maybe he could unlock the secrets of her own powers...

Reality had struck him like a brick wall. At first Casper hoped that there was a slim chance of reviving his mother, a chance to maybe remove the drugs from her system but there was no telling how long she had been dead. Well, there was no telling for him. Those looking into the autopsy probably had all the information they needed. She had been close friends with that needle, always keeping it close. "Shoulda' taken it from her..." Blaming himself for her death was almost convincing him of such a lie, but in the end this was her fault. After Casper's father left the picture, his mother started on a downward spiral which eventually ended her up in the morgue with Casper now stuck in the police station. He was waiting for some other family to take him in, something he was forced to go with. In truth, Casper just wanted to be left alone. He wanted to live by himself. Couldn't social services hand him a room in a garage somewhere? That'd be enough. He could after all take care of himself. Throughout the boy's life he had not only taken care of himself but also his mother.

"Hello, son." A police officer looked at the boy with a compassionate smile crossing his lips. They had placed Casper in one of the back rooms, waiting for the family he would now have to call his. No, he'd never call anyone his family. After all of this shit, Casper was in it by himself. He was done with others, trusting others, letting other people close. He was done with all of it. "I can imagine how unbearable the wait is, but they've found a family willing to take you in. They're on their way here now."

"Okay..." Casper returned, his arms hugging himself as he sat slouched over in a chair. He wasn't even given time to grieve before they thought it a good idea to rocket launch him into a new environment. Surprisingly, they hadn't mentioned him being an Evo through this process. He thought it would be the first most important thing concerening him, somehow. Part of him expected them to blame his mother's death on him just because he was an Evo, but society hadn't sunken quite that low yet.

The minutes passed like claws dragging across Casper's skin, each second of the infuriating clock on the wall ticking a strike to his already anxious heart. The boy's embrace around himself tightened as he lowered his head and clenched his teeth. He didn't want to meet these strangers he was now forced to live with. There was no telling if they'd even connect on any level. Casper wasn't exactly the type of person who got along with others. "Do you have any questions, son?"

"Will I have siblings...?"

"Yes, there are two."

"Damn it..."

"It's a big change from what you're used to, I understand." Trying to be understanding, the police officer nodded to the boy with his lingering smile before going back to the paperwork on his desk. Casper with siblings? This was going to be disastrous.

"Any of them an Evo...?"

"No." The officer shook his head.

"Great..." Things just kept getting worse. Casper would be stuck in a family filled with 'normal' people? surly they knew who they were taking in. The passing minutes turned to an hour of torture before the wait was finally over. An officer stepped through the door on the left side of the room and motioned for Casper to come with him.

"Good luck, son." Casper had to admit one thing. Throughout the process, the officer by the desk had been good to him. He wasn't about to simply discard the one shred of kindness he had been given.

"Thanks..." The boy responded, following the new officer through the station and into another room. A couple sat in there, a man in a suit and a woman in a dress. They looked like something taken out of a commercial. The man's short brown hair and pearly white smile seemed inviting but to Casper it was just off putting. His wife possessed a motherly expression and reached her hand out gently upon seeing the boy enter the room. Why the hell would two people as perfect as this take custody of a kid from the slums?

"You must be Casper." The woman spoke, ascending to her feet before approaching him and gave the boy a soft hug. "I'm Donna, a pleasure to meet you."

"And I'm Miles." The man continued, joining his wife's side. "It's good to meet you, Casper."

"Hey..."

"I'm sure we'll get along just perfectly." Donna exclaimed brightly, pulling her husband closer. This was sickening.

"I'll need you all to sign these papers and then you are free to go." The officer finished, handing them all their documents. Did Casper want to sign these? Of course not, but he had to. No matter how much he squirmed and complained, they wouldn't let him live on his own. The only way he'd be by himself was in a cell and that was nothing he wanted to do. Also, seeing how well dressed these people were, Casper was starting to understand why it took so long for them to come and get him. If they thought that he'd dress like that, they could go fuck themselves.

With little choice, Casper followed the couple out to the parking lot where he was allowed entry into a car that must have cost more than the old apartment building he used to live in. Hell, it probably cost more than the whole neighborhood. Again, why did they take custody of him? It didn't make any sense. None of this did. Perhaps it was because Casper was still in shock. His mother had recently died and all of this happened right after. He was never given a chance to actually grieve or even let this sink in. He needed some sleep, he couldn't take much more of this shit. As soon as he got to this new place he had to call home, he'd head straight to bed. A small town outside of Los Angeles, Newberry Springs, that's where he was heading now. "Their takin' me away from everything I'm used to...this is going to fuckin' suck..."

Johanna Phillips & Alfie Sutherland
Chinatown
Los Angeles, California

"Here’s your payment….Fifteen thousand dollars in crisp one hundred dollar bills, as per your request.” Johanna snapped her fingers at her associate who immediately popped open the locks of the first black leather briefcase they had brought along with them. Inside laid ten neatly stacked piles of freshly printed and barely touched one hundred dollar bills. The young scruffy haired man let his shades slide to the tip of his nose before jerking his head up from his work to take a quick glance over the content. Even though she had meet with the 'talented' Alfie Sutherland numerous times before she was still not used to seeing someone wearing sunglasses indoors especially in such a dimly lit room. She found it very odd but decided not to question it not just because he is a vital source for Quantum but also because he is a specialist and professional in the forging industry. For all she knew this job works best with sunglasses.

“Count it," is all Alfie muttered before returning his attention to his work.

"Excuse me?” Johanna's arched her right eyebrow in confusion and slight outrage. He better be taking the piss right now… She wasn’t in the mood for jokes today, well to be honest there was never really a good time for jokes with her unless of course she is the one making them. She had already counted it off back at the base which had taken far too long for her likely so there was no way in hell she was going to count it again. She was about to open her mouth again and give him a piece of her mind but she was cut short by a faint murmur.

“Relax Miss Philips. I wasn’t talking to you...I was talking to-"

“Me!” Suddenly out of thin air an exact replica of Alfie appeared right next to her. Johanna was caught by such surprise she almost fell off the wooden chair she was sitting in. Her colleagues appeared to be have be caught off guard as well because all four black suited men now stood with their guns drawn and fingers planted firmly on triggers.

"What the fuck man?...I told you to stop doing that." She flashed him a dirty look before signalling her colleagues to lower their weapons. "It's fine, no threat.." she muttered as she leaned back into the chair to make herself comfortable again.

"Apologies, we didn't mean to frighten you..." he softly snickered but it was loud enough for Johanna to hear. Frightened give me a break. He's lucky I didn't smash both of their pretty heads into the concrete wall. She rolled her eyes before crossing her arms over her chest. "Anyway let ME count the money and if it's all satisfactory you can have your precious documents...speaking of documents couldn't help but notice you guys have quite a big trip planned, care to share?" Alfie couldn't help his curiosity and just had to ask even though he knew full well she would never share because it was classified.

"Just an annual family vacation...OI IDIOTS! He is talking about the copy not himself. THE ONE STANDING!..Jeez just bloody hand the damn briefcase over already," Johanna hollered at her colleagues noticing that they were getting confused with which lAlfie was going to do the counting. Although she herself was still getting used to his power especially the whole appearing out of thin air thing she seemed to have gotten the hang of deciphering which replica was the 'real' Alfie. "Sorry for their incompetence they're just 'humans' you know, aren't you boys? Just plain normal humans beings..." She chuckled and even though she was clearly just mocking them and making a joke her tone of voice was rather harsh. Her colleagues were quick to nod their heads in agreement. Such discipline.

"I must say I'm very surprised to see you already with a new bunch. Surely that must be a new record for you...two weeks since I've last saw you? What happened? Not another wrong coffee order?" Alfie tried his best to hold in his laughter after all they were talking about people's lives but the whole thing was just too amusing for him. Johanna was going through teammates faster than Lebron James.

"That was one time and she ain't technically dead..." Johanna spoke coldly whilst remembering the incident. She was known for her sudden and sometimes violent mood swings and unfortunately for this particular teammate bringing her a decaffeinated cappuccino instead of caffeinated cost the teammate a one way ticket to the hospital. "And I have you know my old team are all still breathing they have just been reassigned to a different department because apparently little old me is a bully," she seemed to mock the voice of one of her former colleagues as she called herself a bully. "...But anyway enough about me, why don't we get down to business and you show me some of those passports and IDs you've been working on."

Half an hour later...

After the exchange was made Johanna and her team proceeded back through what was only know as Chinatown towards the main street where their vehicle was parked. She couldn't help but frown in irritation at the sight in front of them. Every couple of steps a new individual would pop up next to them trying to shove their products and goods down their faces. I thought I am in bloody America not China...jeez. She never really understand the concept of Chinatowns. If she wanted to experience and be in China then she would just go to China instead of coming here to the USA.

"Not interested," Johanna repeated over and over again until she finally had enough and snapped. Without actually making contact she pushed the seven individuals surrounding them away causing them all to simultaneously stumble back and fall onto their bottoms. "I SAID FUCKING NO AND THE NEXT PERSON THAT SO MUCH AS LOOKS IN MY DIRECTION I WILL BREAK YOUR FUCKING LEGS. Do you understand?" Johanna was far to consumed by her anger to notice the hooded figure slowly approaching the group. Within seconds of making his presence known the stranger snatched one of the black leather briefcases from Johanna's colleagues hand before bolting off. Her colleagues were quick to pull their weapons and pursue the thief but Johanna commanded them to stop. "I got this..." She muttered as for a moment she just watched the thief run off with their belongings.

Three...two...one. Johanna without physically touching the briefcase tugs it back towards them causing the thief to get pulled back mid-stride and fall ass first onto the ground. To easy. With a quick flick of her hair over her shoulder she casually begins to walk towards the hooded stranger.

True colors were being shown soon after Casper stepped into Donna and Miles car. It started with small talk, something which further lead to instructions which in turn lead to shunning the past. Casper had a hard time hearing everything due to exhaustion but he could pick up enough to understand the concept. They wanted him to get a haircut, they wanted him to change his clothes and they wanted him to fit in with his new so called 'family'. Was he able to fight back, he would have, though due to his lack of energy Casper could only respond with an okay. It didn't take long before the car stopped at a hair salon. Was the world truly this cruel? It was starting to seem like a joke, a bad one. His mother had overdosed on the shit she kept closer than her own son, only to launch him into the hands of an emotionless rich couple who would now call Casper their own.

Sitting down in the chair he was offered, the boy saw his reflection in the mirror before him. An apathetic expression met his eyes hidden behind bangs and a blanket of fatigue. He barely noticed the scissors coming in contact with his black hair, each snip sending several strands to the floor. "This is what I've become...? Someone's fuckin' pet...?" He wanted to rip the chair from its bolts in the floor and bash it into the hairdresser but the thought quickly left his side. He was stuck in this, there was no escape. Even though the boy had found himself in a prison wrapped in silk and glamour, he could try to see the positive side of it. At least he could see better now, right? At the end of the session, Casper laid eyes on his reflection and saw how his new haircut left his black bangs just above his eyes, now making his face a lot more visible to the outside world.

"Wonderful!" Donna clapped her hands together before she placed them on Casper's shoulders. It was apparent that he didn't care too much, however. As soon as the hairdresser made sure to remove every stray strand of hair, the boy was free to leave and once more found himself in the car. A bed, was that too much to ask for? Well, a bed and a shower. That wasn't too much, was it?

He'd need to change schools now, too. There was an Evo school in this godforsaken village he was going to live in? He had no clue and right now it didn't matter. "Here we are, dearest." Donna broke the silence, waking Casper from his halfway sleeping state. "Your new home." Impressive to say the least, Donna motioned towards a large villa. This was his new home? Well, it was big. "Come now, I am sure you are tired. Some rest will do you well." She had enough of a heart to let the boy sleep? That was a pleasant surprise. God knew she wouldn't let him into her house with an alternate haircut. "James and Freya are in bed right now, but you'll see them tomorrow. Your room is right next to James's on the second floor. There is a bathroom there as well."

"Thank you..." The boy managed, walking up the stairs as he was met by countless new impressions. His entire apartment was the size of his new bedroom. It begged the question once more, why did they adopt a kid from the slums? Was it because they truly cared? Forcing Casper to get a haircut before coming home meant that there were some things more important than those Donna claimed as her kids. Image, was that it? She adopted Casper for the sake of her image? Yes, that made sense, didn't it? As a kid Casper always thought that rich people did everything to keep a good image up, and this would greatly add to that. The benevolent Miles and Donna adopted a boy from the slums, an Evo no less. They were playing a dangerous game, however. A lot of anti-Evo fanatics would shun them for this but they probably knew that. They were playing a very strategical game in an attempt to gain friends in all the right places, including the Evo community. "I'm thinkin' far too deeply into this..."

After a long, hot shower, Casper felt a bit refreshed. It was as if the filth and the shit which had washed over him since this began was starting to slide down the drain. All he needed now was some sleep. He was too tired to even mourn, something he was sure would come in due time. He hadn't been given an opportunity to hide in a corner and bawl his eyes out but he knew that the day would come where he'd let it all out. Hopefully it wouldn't be in any physical form. Slipping into a t-shirt and a pair of boxers, Casper noticed how the walk in closet in his room contained enough clothes to last him weeks without having to wash any of them. "What the fuck is this...? What the hell is happening!? Why am I even here!?" Clenching his fists, the boy closed the door to his room and slid below the sheets of his new bed.

Perhaps when he woke up this would all be a great big dream. Perhaps he was still in his bed back home with his mother duped out on the couch. Perhaps he still needed to throw the garbage out and cook some food. Perhaps...perhaps this was all true and the fates had sown a path for him that seemed impossible and completely bizarre. An answer met his question soon after he woke up the following day. The sound of birds welcome his senses to the new morning but seeing how he was still in Donna and Miles' villa made him noxious. Everything had actually happened.

Placing his bare feet on the floor, Casper made his way into the closet again, this time grabbing hold of a pair of jeans. They were a bit big but folding up the bottoms made it work. "Hello!" Nearly jumping out of his skin, Casper spun around to see a little girl.

What the hell was she doing in Casper's room? "Ugh...am I gonna' be that person now? 'What are ya' doin' in my room', yeah...no..." Tilting his head slightly, Casper regained himself and scratched the back of his head. "Hello..."

"I'm Freya! Are you Casper?" How old could she have been? Nine? Ten?

"Yeah." The boy responded, walking out of the closet and closed the door behind him.

"Mom said you were going to live with us now." Her smile was bright, something one could have expected of young girl like herself. Silken blonde hair fell down her neck in a pony tail and she seemed incredibly excited to lay her eyes on a new individual she had never seen before.

"Yeah." Casper repeated, looking down with a soft sigh. Everything was starting to settle now. He was in fact going to live here. It was his new life, his new reality.

"Wanna' be friends?" She took the boy's hands and started jumping up and down. He had to admit, she was rather cute.

"Sure..." Friends with a little girl. Who was she to him, now? A sister? No, none of these people were going to be his family, none of them.

"Mom said I should show you around! Let's start with my room!"

"Okay..." Freya, was it? At least she gave him a warm welcome. Yes, a welcome indeed. Welcome to a new life. This would take a lot of getting used to.
