Roman's post is up. I poked some fun at him just standing there during the last post but also focused on bringing everyone together. Who knows how sloppy we can get if we don't stay on the same page, but I know from the last mission that working well as a team can and will save us from getting slaughtered.
Retrieval Team Mansion Rooftop- Roman Cassidy

Landing cleanly on the roof, Roman removed his parachute and took a moment to access his surroundings. A bare, flat surface with nothing to take cover behind, nowhere to try and hide from view. He felt naked, but at least his camo suit offered a bit of protection from view. Besides, with no other buildings in the immediate area above three floors tall, he would probably go unnoticed unless he stood near the edge of the roof.

Perhaps he was spending too much time looking around, but at least he wasn't throwing caution to the wind. Georgia, a member of his team, slid out of view without waiting for her partners. Hell, Nathaniel was still coming down on his parachute and she was already inside the buildings.

From his radio, someone warned "Gangbangers attacking eastern sector! They're under control for now!... Why are they even here?!" A good question, Roman thought. Last time we were deployed, we had shapeshifters, A Goleyeith and U-ARM in the ring with us. Whatever's actually going on, some part of it's attracting everyone nearby. Maybe Eve.

Deep in a bloody daydream of the team bringing Eve back to the bunker, only for the various factions of Chicago to swarm them simultaniously, Roman almost jumped at Captain Derek's message. "I heard rumours Alyss was gonna be here. If she is, and we weren't informed, assume she will shoot you if you get in her way. N' I'd hate 'fer you youngin's to bite it to that fishy cunt." Roman didn't know who Alyss was, but by the look he could see on Derek's face as the helicopter flew to the eastern side of the roof, she was someone to tread lightly around.

"Hawthorne here, got delayed, just landed on the south-west corner of the mansion roof. Heading inside now." Before Roman could follow Georgia, he found himself in the familiar situation of having to choose one of two paths.

As if she could hear his thought, Georgia contacted him. “Roman, go with Nathaniel. I'm going down a level, I think I sense the target. Be careful, though... I... I thought I heard a party. And someone there knew my name. There's stuff that can get in your head in here.” Someone knew her name? That wasn't good. Suddenly Roman knew he'd made the right decision to join the mutants on the roof, but he was surprised that it wasn't Nathaniel validating his fears of Eve-influence.

Adjusting his radio so it would only send his message to Georgia, Roman replied. "I'll look for a west entrance with Hawthorne, but you gotta stay on the fourth floor. Something might be in your head already; you don't wanna go in alone. Hold up at the stairs and wait for us." Making his way slowly enough to Nathaniel that he wouldn't slip on the rain-covered roof, he restored his radio to its previous setting. Roman frowned at the thought of having to juggle both Nathaniel and Georgia while looking for Eve, but knew that the best method would be to follow Nathaniel wherever he went and try keeping things on track. I suppose my promotion means I get to babysit the mutants. Their weird shit better not get me killed, at least before I find answers.
Retrieval Team Transport- Roman Cassidy

The mansion below called out to Roman, an invitation of potential transparency in a world of unfocused blur. Adam Caville was a shapeshifter. Adam Caville doesn't exist. Adam Caville is dead. Here's a promotion. Stop asking questions. Roman often wondered whether Dufont and his lackeys even knew the truth themselves. They probably thought they did. It wouldn't surprise him if everything blew up in the council's faces without a single one of them seeing it coming.

Roman knew that the promotion was a rub meant to get him to stop asking questions. He had no idea why Eira wasn't also promoted when she saved his ass from the Goleyeith during the beginning of their mission, but he was paranoid enough that the thought of her being 'involved' or 'one of them' crossed his mind more than once. Of course, she had been less accepting of Adam and the higher-ups probably knew that, so she didn't need the push to get silenced in their eyes. The fact that they threw one to Roman told him two things: they wanted him to do as he was told without prying and they thought he could be bought.

The promise to the Black Viper still stood. Roman would make something of himself, create his own legacy through his deeds and be remembered for making a difference for the better. He was a foreigner in a foreign land, far away from anything that was or could possibly have eventually been home, in a place full of opportunity.

That mansion had the answers. Eve, Annie, whoever the shapeshifter woman was, she had answers. Was she responsible for Adam's death? Was it the experiment being run that killed him? Roman wanted him to peacefully work with the council, but instead he gave the shapeshifter to a lab so they could poke and prod him, let him die or cause it themselves. He wanted to know how it happened, who was responsible. Roman had his own share of Adam's blood on his hands, but he knew he could find out who else did.

"I'm hitting the roof of the mansion. We need to find Eve and talk things through with her." Getting his pack ready, Roman took another look at the mansion, where he would find what he needed to or die trying... Eve. Truth. Answers.
Post is up.
I'm writing my post now.

Roman's going to the roof. We need each group from Retrieval Team to have someone that can hit hard. Roman's upgraded shotgun could pack a punch in close quarters.

And having two listeners alone with Eve? Nah.
Research
--#1: Project OMEGA
--#2: Project NANO
--#3: Project VARIABLE STRUCTURE
--#4: Project FIRE STARTER
--#5: Project NTAP 2.0

Being hurt less and healing faster are main priorities for me. From what I can tell in the first mission, either you get wounded and could do with some healing or you're just fucked. Everyone benefits from extra protection and better healing tech.

Hitting harder comes later, so fire weapons and bigger mechs can wait. When it comes to NTAP, I'm extremely wary about these unknown effects the upgrade offers.

Development
--#1: Project LEGIONAIRE
--#2: Project SHIELD
--#3: Project ALPHA
--#4: Project MECHANICAL WARHORSE
--#5: Project PLUSHIE

Unlike Research, the Development side of things is more current and will help us sooner rather than later. This means, to me, that better defenses are a huge focus on my choices in this list. Armor upgrades are good, and Project SHIELD's important for two of our mission's three teams as well as anyone in general.

ALPHA and MECHANICAL WARHORSE are both big helps, but can wait. PLUSHIE doesn't fit our next mission at all, so that's the bottom of my list.

Brovo said And camo suit, as in technologically camouflaging against the environment, correct?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Good stuff, PC. We're gonna need another ridiculously loaded stealth ops for the road ahead given the fact that I have a feeling Battlezone Chicago was merely child's play 8P.

Good thing I decided not to multi-class then. Focusing on building up what I already got seems like the best way to go forward with Roman.

I'm trying to make him hit hard without people knowing he was even there. I'd put a silencer on a rocket launcher if I could.

A bit* late (blame it on me not being here back then) but .*Like just a teensy bit. A little ittle bittle late.

So with future-tech stuff, it's possible to make a silent automatic shotgun, right?

RIGHT?!
Alright, here's my upgrades for Roman Cassidy. Brovo, let me know if this is all good:

-I'm adding the Bigger is Better Calibre mod to my shotgun.
-My unique mod is a large drum on the shotgun that automatically reloads the shotgun after it is fired. The drum holds 20 rounds.

-I'm adding the Adrenaline Junkie combat training.
-I'm upgrading the GECKO combat training.
-For Manifest Destiny, I'm giving Roman a Camo-Suit.
