Tasha groaned slightly as she buried her face in her pillow, she had slept later than she normally would have but not by much. She was normally up before her alarm went off and even though she didn't have a shift until later in the day she kept it set at the same time every morning unless she had pulled an all night shift. Her alarm had gone off, soft music beginning to play from her playlist. Only thing she could think of at that point was at least it wasn't one of her heavier songs. She had a bit of a headache and her mind was foggy. What the hell had she done last night she wondered as she sat up and held the heels of her palms to her eyes and rubbed away the sleepiness.

Shaking off the grogginess was not going to work that morning and she slipped out of bed without giving it another thought. Right then the only thing she wanted was to down about a gallon of water and take a shower. She was sore as all get out, and her head was not playing nice right then. Her bare feet padded softly against the floor as she stepped over to the shower that was in the corner of her room. There was no bathroom proper, except for a small "closet" for the toilet in her room. The shower itself was set up in the corner between two windows. Tasha had done what she could to hang up some darker curtains over the windows so people couldn't see her clean up from outside but inside she really hadn't given it much thought. She had a low hanging shower curtain that was rigged up on a piece of rope. It covered the basics; kept the water from splashing out all over the room and covered her from just right above her breasts down to her thighs, kind of. It wasn't transparent but it was opaque.

Turning the knob she squealed with delight as the water actually came on. "Finally," said under her breath as the song continued to play in the background. The water coming from the shower head alone was enough to make her feel ten times better, the prospect of getting clean right then could make anyone's day better. Granted what had happened yesterday to cause her to be so sore and just yucky feeling? She still couldn't get a clear picture in her mind but she remembered a goat, something about a goat. And there was a lot of flashes of Emilio. What the hell happened?

Dominic's eyes opened to the sound of the song he had never heard before. He wondered if in a drunken shenanigan he had decided to fiddle with his usually amazing playlist (if he did say so himself). He ran his large hand down his bearded face, trying in vain to brush off the sleep. Last night was a bit of a blur but was definitely fun. Did he play Emilio last night? Fuck, that always gets you drunk really fast. "Wait....was the shower running?" Sitting bolt up like he had just awakened from a nightmare, Dom's head swiveled to the corner of the room and the sound vacated his throat leaving him gasping for words as he watched silently, Tas getting ready to get in the shower.

"Oh shit."

Shrugging she began to peel out of her clothing from the day before and tossing it into the hamper; her back constantly to the other side of her room. She sang along with the lyrics, her hips swaying with the beat of the music as each piece of clothing was discarded. A small smile playing on her lips but she didn't understand why. She felt like crap but she had woken up in a great mood. She felt serene right then, like there wasn't a care in the world. "Hell's at heaven's door as I need you more. You know you're my once in a lifetime," she sang softly as she stepped into the shower proper and hooked the curtain into place.

Tasha still hadn't noticed that Dom had awoken, hell she didn't even realize he was still there. Stepping under the water she giggled softly to herself, the water streaming over her head as she pushed her hair out of her face. Not being able to clean up yesterday had made her a bit more testy than normal yesterday; the fact her battered body was actually getting the luke warm washing it needed was beyond refreshing, not to mention it was helping to clear her head a bit from the fogginess. She was starting to remember a few things beyond the mine and the goat. Emilio kept popping into her mind, flashes of the Breakfast Club coming to mind. Wait... She remembered pulling that stupid stunt with applying her lip gloss without her hands. Why had she done that? That was a party gag. Slowly she stopped moving as her hands came up and pushed back the water from her face as her eyes opened; her fingers resting on her lips. She had been kissed. She remembered being kissed and the gentle tickle of beard brushing against her skin.

Dominic had now entered into one of life's great conundrums; should he stay or should he go? Tas was in the shower, it would've been easy for him to slip out of the front door, back to his room and hide there until his journeys end but every part of him was telling not to do that. Everything in him was telling him to stay; he wanted to stay. Swinging his legs out of bed, Dom scoured the room for the remnants of last night; the dvd player had paused on Emilio's face, beer bottles were littered everywhere, drops of lemon slice and clothing littered in places, oh wow. He pulled on the few clothes he had and immediately regretted it; it was hot as hell, muggy and hard to breathe, fucking air conditioning must've gone again, how lovely. As he made a short dash for the door, the yeti stopped with his hand on the handle, turning back to the shower in the non creepiest of ways, he smiled. This was so weird but he felt like leaving would probably be one of the biggest mistakes in his life and the mountain had made his fair share. Fuck he needed a mountain to think this over. Moving back into the main room, Dom sat back down on the bed, resigning himself to his fate.

What was the worst that could happen?

Tasha stood there, the water falling from the shower head onto her body slowly clearing the beer induced fog that was in her mind. Ducks, lots of ducks. And the kiss, she could remember the kiss and then she remembered more. She remembered strong arms wrapping around her. The song on her mp3 player switched over to something more awakening as her hand came to her chest, feeling it beginning to race at the memories coming to her mind from the night before. Her bottom lip rolling in as it was clenched between her teeth. "You can kiss me whenever the hell you want, Dr. Brinne." Dominic's words ringing through her mind as she drew a ragged breath. The last thing she could recall at the time was pulling herself closer to him as things heated up well beyond anything that summer heat of Jaipur could dish out and her face warming at the thought.

What happened after that? "Think woman think, just how far DID things go last night???" she thought to herself as she reached for the shower knobs and turned off the water, the sound of the water trickling off her body echoing through her one room suite as the music faded away and the playlist ended.

Dom heard the shower stop on the other side of the room and his breath became caught in his throat. This was it Dominic, last chance, get the hell out of dodge before it all goes wrong. He clenched his fists tight together in a nervous clasp and cracked his neck as he often did. Butterflies were in his stomach and trying to escape his mouth as she slowly pictured the entire scenario and how it ended in his head. More than likely it resulted in Natasha slapping his stupid yeti face, throwing him out and him getting on the next flight to Justice, California to visit his baby sister with his tail between his legs. He raised his head as right on cue, Tas emerged from the shower.

"Hi"

Tasha froze as she heard his voice, her eyes darting over to the bed. The water still dripping off her as she was in mid reach for a towel at the time. It was only a split second that she froze before she realized just how exposed she was and gave a startled jump that caused her to slip on the wet tiled floor and spilling out onto the ground. Quickly she curled over herself and looked back over to him in slight shock that he was just sitting there, apparently watching her shower. Had he seen everything last night? She still couldn't remember past a certain point but she did recall several items of clothing being pulled off and tossed here and there about her room. Taking a deep breath it came out with a slight tremble.

"Um... hi... Could you hand me the damn towel please?" she said as she looked over to him, giving him a nearly defeated glance in the process.

Dom grabbed the crunched up towel from the floor and quickly handed it to Tas with a sideways glance so as to not look at her amazingly naked amazing body. "I wasn't...erm...I didn't see anything, I was just..shit...words Dominic" He continued to trip over himself and failed to mount any kind of defense. The Dominator wasn't good with words at the best of times but now this just took the cake. Booking tickets to California now...He raised his head and decided that something must be said, all he had to do was find the words; easier said than done for old Dominic "I don't do words good" Mason. He scratched the back of his realizing how long the awkward silence had hung in the air like a dead man from the gallows.

Tasha took the towel from his hand and slowly slipped it around her chest before she sat up fully, her legs tucked beneath her as the water dripped from the ends of her hair and down her shoulders. She just sat there for a moment as she watched him tripping over himself, the silence was getting to be a bit much; especially for Dr. Natasha "Big mouth" Brinne. Tucking the end of the towel over itself to make sure it stayed around her she was about to say something when he ended up being the first to break the silence.

"I must've been born during an uncomfortable silence or something. Seems to happen to me a lot....Er, well I was just going to go while you showered but...that felt, douchey I guess. Especially given the fact, I...well I don't really want to go. So here I am."

As he spoke Tasha could help but break the blank look on her face as a smile started to crawl over her features and she began to giggle a bit, bringing her free hand that was not clasping the towel and covering the little chirps of humor as she looked away from him. She wasn't laughing at him, he was just so completely adorable like this. Clearing her throat she tried to contain the laughter from getting out of control and took a long calming breath between her lips before she found her eyes drifting back to the mountain of the man standing over her.

"You talk to much," she chuckled as she placed her hand under her; slowly and carefully rising to her feet and trying to make sure that she didn't slip again but it didn't really do any good. The floor was slick, she was bruised and sore from yesterday and before she knew it she had slipped again; this time her body landing against his; her hand coming out and grasping his broad shoulder to keep herself from having another unwelcome meeting with the ground.

"We really need to stop meeting like this Doctor Brinne"

Of course Dominic wasn't complaining, here he was holding a beauty sculpted by the God's, someone who made him smile. For a moment his thoughts drifted to his little sister and how she recently lost the person that made her smile, it worried him that she was all alone but hell, Jess was tougher than him by a Minnesota mile. The Yeti looked down to Tas as she looked up at him with those fucking eyes of hers and he raised his eyebrows, ever the clueless snowman. "This is the part where I kiss you again right?"

Their entire existence was quickly becoming a John Hughes movie. Nd true to form of such a generational movie Tasha wasn't sure how to take what was happening. Last night, what she could remember of it was amazing but had he meant what he said or was it just some drunken talk? He was calling her Dr. Brinne, and as he asked if this was the part if he should kiss her again she wondered if she was in the middle of a play. Looking down she took a deep breath and righted herself, clearing her throat in the process as she clung to the towel around her chest. Perhaps she wouldn't have said what she said last night without the help of a little liquid courage and the help of Emilio but she had meant it. She hoped he did as well. Slowly her eyes came back to his and she felt a lump forming in her throat, one she had to swallow to push back down.

"Only if you meant what you said last night," she said nervously as her lip curled in and she found herself biting the tender flesh.

Location: His Apartment

Cameron sat back in his chair, having just been interviewed by the police about something he didn't even see and then given the third degree about a bump on his head, he was not in the best of moods. He lay his head back against the head rest and let out a great sigh. This was all he needed right now. He had been making such progress and it was all fucked in an instant. Clenching his fists against the recliner chair, Cam was doing everything he could to sooth the screaming voices in his head. Reaching over to the desk, he picked up his phone and quickly put on Billy Jolly's All Star 80's, that would surely make him feel better right? Tears for Fears very apt. Every fibre of his being was telling him to scream and shout and let it all out. Hell, he was aching to reach into the drawer, pull out his gun and fire a few rounds into a wall but he had to resist the urge. As his mind began to settle, Cameron had to think back to the man, how had he known he was there? Was he even there? Was it all in Cameron's head? It wouldn't be the first time. Opening his eyes in time to see Lyndsey walk into the room, he smiled at her faintly resting back down.

"I'm going to stop by Doctor Keller's tomorrow. I think I need a session"

JD Mason

Location: Block Party. Her Apartment

JD offered Lana another smile before the woman wandered off to her own apartment. Feeling the haze begin to lift from her mind, the intrepid reporter got to her feet and brushed herself off. Now was no time to lose focus, no matter what chaos was happening around her. Making her way into her apartment building she was stopped once again for question by the cops. This was fine, she knew police routine and by now her head was clear enough to answer the questions she was asked more fruitfully. "Yes I live here. I moved her because the place was cheap and right by my work. Erm, no I'm pretty sure everyone was at the party, everyone from the apartments I know at least, I'm still pretty new. Good luck officer" Despite an inherit distate for the law enforcement of Justice, California, JD knew that some of these men were honestly just trying to do their job, not everyone was corrupt...then again most were. She had honestly never seen anything like it. Evil had filled this city and was held there, steadfast, like they were trapped under the dome from Stephen King. Life was strange but now, after this, Jessica knew that it was only going to get stranger.

Once she had entered her apartment, Jess collapsed onto her bed and stared up at the map on her ceiling. It was something she had gotten from her brother on one of his expeditions. Dominic always used to say that if he slept with a map above his head, his dreams could take him anywhere. It was soppy and romantic and so thoroughly Dom. Speaking of her big brother bear, JD thought back to the man at the party, the one who looked exactly like him. There was no way it could have been him but with everything that was going on, maybe it was worth a check? If for nothing else, it would be nice to talk to her ducky.

Establishing Connection....You are now connected to MinnesotaYeti92

"Dom? Dom are you there?" All JD could see was white until from out of focus, there popped a hairy snow covered creature; the abominable snowman, the sasquatch, Mor'du from Brave...her brother, Dominic. "Hey ducky! Bad time?"
"Erm...no, no I always have time for you. Give me two seconds though, I literally just walked through the door, let me get this gear off" JD watched as her big brother disappeared off screen for moment before returning and sitting down at his computer. "So what's up sis?"
"So I secretly think you have a twin, we should ask mom and dad. I was at a party and I could've sworn you were there. Dommy this guy looked just like you...you know except without the dead animal skin on his face. I keep telling you you're not a Stark!"
"Uh-huh...so what's really going on Jessie?"
Typical Dom, he was the master at seeing through JD's bullshit. "A girl died today, right in front of the entire complex. It's another one, Dommy, another one that doesn't make sense. I need to know what's going on here"
"I'm not going to tell you to get out of there, Jessie because I know you won't, you're too much like your big brother. Just be careful, ok? That place is fucking dangerous and it will eat you alive. I worry more for you there than for me and Tas in a cave here in Alaska...you know what? Screw it. We're coming to town, we'll finish up here and Natasha and I will come see you"
"But Dom, you still have three months?"
"Doesn't matter, my little sister needs me. Listen Little Yeti, I have to go, our signal out here won't last much longer and Tas is trying to research goats in snow for some reason. I love you, be safe and I'll see you soon ok?"
"I love you too, brother bear

The line went dead and Jess leaned back in her chair. As much as she liked to do things on her own, JD felt some relief to know that her brother would be coming to see her soon. She always worried that one of his expeditions would go wrong and she would never see him again, having him close by would help her get back on the right track, even if his visit was only for a few days. Her eyes were drawn to one of the many pictures of Peyton she had. That girl was loved by the camera. As she sat staring into her lovers eyes, JD was brought back to something in their final conversation.

"So I couldn't find any spooky legends about this town but I did find one legend, it's about a thing, they call it March. Been around for like forty, fifty years. Apparently it is a ghostly spectre, a vengeful spirit that kills indiscriminate. At night, parents tell their kids of a person so evil, so filled with hatred and malice that the devil was frightened of them, so the demon threw this March out of hell and gave it a list of people to take out. Professor Gerard loves this story and thinks he may have found something true about it, I don't know. An evil ghost that stalks the streets? Bit far fetched right?"

With everything going on at the minute, JD couldn't help but wonder if maybe it was a ghost after all. Flipping on her radio, a smile crossed her face as her favourite station was ready and waiting. The Justice exclusive Billy Jolly's All Star 80's always made her feel better. Especially when it played such a classic tune.

She could relax now, it was time to rest but tomorrow, there was work to be done.

Location: The Party

As she tried to shake the cobwebs from her head, JD caught a glance through the crowd of two unfamiliar faces...well actually one unfamiliar face, the other one though...Dominic?

"Dominic?"

No that was impossible. Her brother was thousands of miles away in the middle of butt fuck nowhere Alaska with that hot doctor he hooked up with in India. What was her .name again? Natalie? Natalya? Oh Natasha that was it. Knowing her brother Dom like she did, JD knew that he was probably ass deep in ice water trying to cuddle a polar bear and play cards with the abominable snowman...there was no way in hell he could be in Justice and looking like...well like that! Short hair, glasses, clean shaven...no that can't have been her brother, Dom has had a beard since he was like fifteen! He didn't wear smart clothes, he dressed in cargo's and long sleeves. All of this must've finally been getting to her, maybe she had something wrong with her brain just like he did. They were siblings after all. Maybe it was an hereditary thing? Damn you Minnesota farm life. Damn you all to hell.

"Hey, JD, you okay? C'mon lets get you a seat..."
"Here you go, you'll need some fluids after a shock. Do you need me to get someone for you? EMT, cop, someone to give you a big man hug? I'm sure our Southern smoker won't mind wrapping his arms around you to make you feel better..."

Time moved faster than a speeding bullet and before she knew it, Jess found herself sitting down with Lana holding on to her hand, playing the part of a comforting friend. She managed to let out a small giggle at Lana's comment of Lawson wrapping his big strong arms around her. It was true that another time, JD certainly wouldn't say no to a good rough and tumble with the blonde haired God of Thunder but the way her life was at that moment, it just didn't seem right, not yet, what on Earth would Peyton think? Besides, this time of the month she was more interested in girls anyway, though that'd probably change by next Friday.

"Hey, cutie pie, the cops want to question you. You okay?"

Lana's words broke her free from her hazy thoughts of random goings on. "Oh of course, yes officer erm, fire away" JD now understood what people felt like when she interviewed them for Channel 4. The world vulture never felt so apt, even if the person doing the questioning was only doing their job. She answered to the best of her ability; she had known Danica only to say hi in the street, she didn't really know much else other than her pass times. Jessica Dallas's shock soon gave way once the police had evaporated, it was replaced with determination. No more bodies, two was too many. It was time to get things moving, she knew now that she would have to be willing to risk everything.

She turned her eyes to Lana and placed her hands over hers. "Thank you, for trying to take care of me. Beautiful inside and out, don't ever lose that. I'm going to go upstairs, I have to I guess do some work or something" She offered the woman a grateful smile and hoped it was enough to thank her.

I thought it was going to be Twin Peaks the RP since the intro post. I have yet to be dissuaded from this opinion.

On an unrelated note, @Xtreme do you like Huey Lewis and The News?

So you think.
The Inner Workings of a Killer Part 1: Darkness

“There is an idea of me. A tangible feeling that one feels when I’m around. People trust in their instinct that I exist. I do not. Instinct is a lie. Feeling is a lie. I can tell you unequivocally that although you can see me, feel me, I am simply not there.

My time here began five years ago. I accepted a contract for what I thought would be a simple job. Kill a girl. Allison McKenna…she wanted to be a nurse, not that it mattered. Her father was the Mayor of this wretched city and also its biggest detriment; a career criminal in the guise of a politician…I mean most are like that anyway, am I right? I didn’t care who her father was…I was here on a job and that was it. So there I found myself, staring down the scope of my rifle and firing one bullet straight through her innocent heart. Her death led to more, they called it the Gang War of the Century. Bodies falling everywhere from every faction, criminal, cop, civilian. No one was safe. There was a type of satisfaction knowing that my bullet created history.

This town appealed to me so I stayed and well, let’s save those stories for later shall we?

What is it? This darkness that befalls this city? This intangible something that turns good men cruel and good women poisonous? Children leave their homes in the morning, not to go to school nor to go play with their friends but to learn to survive. Their young hearts are corrupted by avarice and jealousy, by lust and by pride. We release our children into this world like we send people to war, their futures hidden in fog, their safety uncertain. Is it something beneath the ground? Something that lies beneath the very crust of the world, like roots from an ancient tree, always there, always growing. Is it in the water? The crushing black from the bottom of the Earth bubbling to the surface and bringing all of our deepest fears and desires with it? What is it? Is it chaos? Is it clarity? Is it stealing into our lives like a thief in the night or are we letting it in? Embracing it like an old friend?

What is this darkness?

Is it Justice?”

Interacting With: Riley @Nallore - And somebody's arm

"Could you help a girl up?"

Riley’s words helped to snap JD from her daze. She reached down and helped the other girl to her feet, though she could barely take her eyes away from the scene unfolding before her. Cecily was assessing the body. The big Latin unit was stopping her fellow media getting anywhere near the scene and a load of people took off towards the building which Danica seemed to fall from. What a fucking shit storm. Two deaths in six months? Jess was starting to think that Boston heights was built on top of an Native American burial ground where witches were once burnt at the steak and someone said Beetlejuice three times!

”How can the same shit happen to the same place twice?” She spoke finding her inner John McClane. Where was Bruce Willis when you needed him?

Looking on the bloodied and broken corpse, JD placed a hand to her head as her mind wandered, her usually bright face now grimaced in an almost painful expression as she relived memories she wished she never had. Her eyes gazed upon Danica and she was immediately transported back to that dark and dingy morgue in Justice where she had gone six months earlier to identify a body; THE body. Peyton looked like herself, her brown hair framing that angelic face, her skin lightly tanned from the California sunshine though her emerald eyes were closed; at a first glance she looked just like she was asleep. That was until Jess moved to the other side of the autopsy table and saw the truth, the small ovate hole on the side of her skull, dried blood and grey matter around the inches wide deformity of a once pristine face. Jessica Dallas still remembered vividly the taste of the vomit that appeared in her mouth.

JD took hold of the nearest arm available to her. She felt like she was going to pass out. It was eerie how similar Peyton and Danica were...

Cameron stirred, feeling the press of something soft against his head. He opened his pale blue eyes and gazed upon a blurry form, one he knew could only be his wife. Using her greatly toned body as a climbing frame, he pulled himself to his feet as his vision began to clear. Lynds was trying to say something but the ringing in his ears was making it difficult to hear. Finally he had managed to shake the cobwebs from his skull just in time to hear her last sentence;

"there's a girl, she shot herself, and...and fell out of a window near the block party. Just like that other girl, from our apartment."

The ex-soldier’s eyes narrowed in confusion. Like the girl from their apartment? How is that possible? What on Earth was going on? Holding on to the wall for support, Cameron looked past Lyndsey’s shoulder and out into the courtyard where could just about make out all the figures standing there. ”It’ll be fine, go back outside. See what you can do, I’ll be back”

Cam moved past her and tried to descend the stairs to their apartment. He was still groggy, sweat dripping from his forehead as it felt like every new step was one worth a thousand miles. After what felt like an eternity, he finally reached their place and made his way inside, stripping off his sweat and blood stained clothes he collapsed onto the floor and peered out of the front of the apartment at the Block Party. Another death; something was going on.

Worst of all, he was back or was it all in his head?

Awww yeah, business be picking up! Its only gonna get darker folks

JD laughed as Riley made a comment about her dancing in the window earlier that day. She brushed a strange of her chocolate brown hair behind her ear as a wide, angelic smile crossed her lips. ”Like the song says, if you got it, flaunt it” She giggled before having another sip from her JD and Coke. The air of danger had begun to lift as people began to enjoy themselves. The memories of the past fading into the fumes from a nearby building unit that was being renovated and converted into a new, more modern complex to rival the Boston Heights.

All semblance of normality that sat in Jess’s mind was eradicated in an instant as something crashed into a nearby table, something big. The music stopped and there was fleeting moment of thin silence before a blood curdling woman’s scream broke through and pulled everyone at the party into a new and dark terror. JD covered her mouth as she gazed upon a corpse for only the second time in her life. Her parents would never allow her to go to family member’s funeral, they did not want Jessica to lose her innocence so early in life.

The first time she had seen a corpse was only the other month, when she first arrived in Justice, California. She had heard stories of this town, how physically it was lost in time, somewhere between the 80’s and the 90’s with a mixture of neon eyesores and Gothic horrors, it was a real life Gotham City, all it needed was a Batman. She had heard how this city had been built over the very roots of evil and that even the Earth beneath their feet was like poison to the soul, corrupting those who dare walk its paths. She couldn’t understand why Peyton wanted to come here. She knew she was doing for a job but had she known the risks would she still have gone? Jess didn’t know as Peyton’s was the first corpse she saw in Justice, bullet hole in her head, a clean, precise shot, the rest of her beyond beautiful face untouched by the ravage of steel.

JD hadn’t known much about Danica, she was one of the more private residents. Her knowledge of the now deceased girl was limited to what was on her social media’s and the like. Her eyes darted to the line-up of reporters that were about to flood the courtyard. Two suicides, same apartments…there had to be a connection. There just had to be. She needed to find Professor Robert Gerard and she needed to find him
now.

Cameron threw himself into a sliding tackle, placing his foot deep into the back of the man’s knee and bringing him down to the floor with him. The two were back to their feet in seconds and matching each other blow for blow with neither landing a strike. The two dark silhouettes, illuminated only the large pink neon light shining in from the outside window seemed locked in a stalemate of blocked blows that sounded like a raging storm. The Man finally landed the first strike, an elbow to the jaw. Thrown into a wall, Cam caught the man’s leg and rushed forward, sending both tumbling back down the stairs to the ground floor. Pinning his unwanted guest to the ground, the mighty chef’s large left hand came crashing down against the weathered face of his opponent. A nearby vase was soon broken across the back of Cam’s head forcing him to roll to the other side of the floor. Pulling Mr White to his feet, the Man grabbed his face and smiled that Cheshire smile again.

“Always be mindful of your surroundings son, you never did get that. Remember, if you’re going to fight like lightning, you’re going to crash like thunder”

Slamming Cameron’s head against the window sill and opening up a wound, The Man laughed before glancing out of the window just in time to see Danica’s body crash.

“The fuck did you do? Bollocks” Hurrying out of the Rose Building the back way, the Man slipped into the night as Cameron began to stir from unconsciousness.
