Lyndsay White

Lyndsay watched Cam rise from his chair and head towards Keller's office. She pressed a kiss to his cheek as he moved past her, opening her mouth to tell him to be as long as he wanted with the doctor, but she was interrupted by a blaring breaking news tune on the TV. As the headline flashed across the screen, she shook her head, and pressed a hand against the small of Cam's back, pushing him a little towards the door of the office. "Don't worry about it, probably more lies, just go on through." She gave him a re-assuring smile and pushed him a little again, feeling his reluctance before he finally allowed her to press him forward, closing the door between them.

Lyndsay turned her attention back to the TV, frowning at the screen as it flashed images of her block. There had been reporters and news crews swarming around the apartment blocks when they left, trying to get statements, snapping photos. Lyndsay and Cam had just ignored them, but she couldn't help getting irritated. The revelation that Danica had been related to their apartment's previous tenant seemed too much of a coincidence to not be connected, but Lyndsay wanted to keep out of it, it was too creepy to feel connected to all the murders. She stretched up to push the power button of the TV to the off position, settling herself down in the quiet waiting room.
Will be posting today!

"You're lucky I can push back my lunch appointment back an hour, and that you're such a loyal patient." Dr Keller had agreed to see both Cam and Lyndsay, pushing back his lunch appointment with his wife, even though he'd made enough of a fuss about it. Lyndsay resented how put out he had acted, they paid him enough for his services, but it helped Cam, so she could hold back her annoyance for his welfare.

Keller had opened the practice back up, leading them into the main reception area before as usual, bringing Lyndsay through first. It usually helped when Keller saw them separately, then together. It had helped them a lot, the sessions with the psychiatrist, helping Lyndsay to understand how to support Cam without pushing him, and helping Cam to understand how to share his feelings enough with Lyndsay to stop her worrying. Lyndsay didn't need to talk to him about anything particular today. Usually it was Lyndsay who suggested a session, to help them communicate when she was feeling particular worried about him, but as it was Cam who had suggested the visit, she would leave him to have more time with the Doctor.

She left Cam with a gentle kiss on the top of his head, settled in the waiting room, leaving him to watch the TV or read one of the various magazines. She entered Keller's actual office, the stereotypical psychiatrist's office, large leather chairs and sofas, all dark wood and boring. She settled herself down into one of the armchairs, leaning back into the cushioning, but not getting as comfortable as she usually would, wanting this to be as quick as possible so Keller could get to Cam, as he'd made it very obvious he didn't have much time to spare.

"So Mrs White, Lyndsay..sorry." Keller smiled a small smile, remembering the many times that Lyndsay reminded him just to call her Lyndsay. "I saw on the news about that poor girl who shot herself at the block party. Awful times, I'm sorry that she didn't seek help when she needed it, a crying shame" Keller shook his head to himself, obviously imagining what he could have done for the poor, suicidal girl.

"They don't know it was suicide yet. I think they suspect foul play. That's what's scary." Lyndsay frowned, a shiver crawling up her spine as the image of the girl flashed in her mind.

"Did Cameron see it? How did he cope? What about the chaos afterwards? Does he seem to be coping well?" Keller glanced over his glasses at her, in a way that only psychiatrists seemed to be able to do.

"He was inside when it happened, he'd gone up for 5 minutes to relax a little. You know how he can get overwhelmed in crowds and chaos, the block party was starting to get pretty busy, I think he just needed to clear his head." She didn't mention the fact that she had seen, she didn't want him taking up too much time with her. "When I went in to find him, he seemed like he'd had some sort of episode, banged his head a little on the stairs, and wasn't making much sense. He hasn't had an episode in such a long time, and I don't know what triggered it, so I want him in here with you ASAP. You know what's he's like, he finds it hard to tell me and worry me. He seems fine this morning, but he was the one that wanted to come, so there must be something bothering him."

Lyndsay was on the edge of her seat now, struggling not to tap her foot slightly impatiently, wishing the doctor would hurry up and finish his notes and bring Cam in. When Keller signalled towards the door, Lyndsay was up like a shot, heading towards the sound of the TV in the other room. She pushed open the door and gave Cam a bright smile, who was looking at the TV.

"Your turn, love."

Me too :)
*Is immensely out of the loop*

Drama is over, air is cleared, everything is ok!
So I've just woken up to a message from X, wondering what has happened, as he's received complaints about me, which I'm quite confused by.

He hasn't told me the exact details, or who they were from, but told me its along the lines of making people feel uncomfortable or that they feel I don't respect the GM.

(For some reason I can't get then scene of Mean Girls out of my head - "Raise your hand if you feel personally victimized)

So I just wanted to attempt to clear the air a little bit.

Now the majority, in fact all of you I think, don't know me, and haven't RP'd with me before. I can be intense, and fiesty, and I'm now assuming misunderstood. Maybe I word things oddly, or my fiestiness comes accross bitchy or rude? I really don't mean for it to. It's just my personality. And as much as I try to reel it in a little, isn't RPG supposed to be about us being ourselves and exploring ourselves? Embracing who we are, without being judged like we sometimes can be IRL? I also get very over-excited, and often too into things, which probably doesn't help me be less intense.

If I've made anyone feel uncomfortable in any way, I really, deeply apologise. I never want to make anyone uncomfortable, as RPing should be a safe environment where you should never feel uncomfortable.

Onto the second part; not respecting Lady A.

Now, I haven't been around RPG for quite a while, I used to be a regular, had a ton of friends, loyal RP partners, and if you notice X's tag "X and Izzy Productions", used to always make group RP's with X. I'm not really used to X making RP's with other people, so when I got a message from X asking me to come back and RP, I decided I would, as I had the time and was looking forward to letting my muse out again.

And then boom, it's Justice, a world he and I created years ago, and another woman was running it?! Pssh! So fiesty Izzy comes out all guns blazing, determined to not like this new creation, but staying because X wanted my help with his storyline. So I stayed, and then damn. I like it. Damn. I like Lady A, this woman who I was determined at the start that I wouldn't like, and wouldn't like the way she was running Justice.

And it's the opposite. Lady A is a great GM, running Justice really well. When she puts up world narratives, you can envision it. And I really thought that the two of us were getting along really well...so I'm still quite confused.

But again; Lady A, if you've felt like I disrespected you, I again apologise. You're doing a great job.

Now I'm sorry to disappoint those who complained, but I'm not leaving the RP. I also don't want anyone else to leave. The story is going great, characters are developing well, and I personally want to know who is killing all the bloody people.

Please don't keep going complaining to X. He's trying to juggle work and keeping everyone happy in this RP, and it's stressing him out.

Please come to me. I'm very approachable you know. I like a good chat. Usually if someone says to me "You know, that comes accross a little rude" I usually look and say "Bollocks, it does, I'll re-word it or apologise"

I have no brain-to-mouth filter (well, brain-to-fingers in this case), and usually don't realise some people take me wrong.

So I'm sending loving, apologetic vibes to all of you who again, have felt personally victimized by DizzyIsabella.

But Lady, please don't ironically hit me with a School Bus in the RP.
He'll be alright, my X is tough 💪🏻

You should have seen us trying to run an RP when he was working shifts like this and I was doing a nursing degree, was much worse than this. We got this! :D

Update ; Well X does, my "gotting this" needs improvement for many things :p
@Lady Amalthea That's fine, I'll ask him to PM you or message you when he has a spare few minutes :) When I said "write for him" I more meant that I've asked him what he wants included in the post with the therapist, but we'll see how the posts turn out!

Like I said, I'll run it by him to OK it :)

Won't be long anyway that it'll be like this, but poor thing is on split shifts, which are hell.
@Lady Amalthea No sweat, me and X have had all this arranged for a while, with him being swamped etc. We're good. I can just write for him and include everything he's specified to me :)

Mr and Mrs White

Lyndsay hadn't slept well the night before, tossing and turning with images of the dead girl ingrained into her memory. She'd risen sleepy-eyed, un-tucking herself from Cam's still sleeping form and left for the kitchen as the sun came up. She'd sat and read for a couple of hours with a warm cup of tea, and once she felt a little more human, started on some breakfast. Eggs were her speciality, plus they both wanted the protein, so she began cooking some up with some toast. She hadn't turned any music on to let Cam sleep more, so just hummed to herself for entertainment. As she reached to grab some pepper to put in the eggs, her hand pressed too long on the side of the pan, singeing her skin. "Crap. Ow. Darnit" She cursed, making the pan clatter again as she pulled her hand away. Being quiet wasn't her strong point. Reaching to run her hand under water, she frowned, looking down at the singe mark.

Cam woke to the sound of clattering, soft humming and sizzling from the kitchen. His wife had clearly risen with the sun, but he continued to stretch out in their bed, rubbing his hands over his stubbled cheeks. He wasn't looking forward to a session with Dr Keller, but he knew it would put Lyndsay's mind at rest, and maybe help him feel a little better. He heard a soft curse and clatter in the kitchen, and smiled, she probably needed help. She was graceful and poised when she was dancing or working out, but she could still be clumsy. He got up out of the bed and stretched his arms above his head, wandering out into the main area of the apartment. "What've you done now?"

Turning to look over her shoulder, Lyndsay emphasised her pout."Burnt myself making you some dang eggs" The sting had already gone from the burn, but she knew he'd know she was just playing the martyr. She pulled her hand back from the water and held it out to him. "Not the worst I've ever done She gave him a smile, she knew he'd be tense about going to Dr Keller's, and he didn't need worrying about a little burn.

Cam reached out and took Lyndsay's hand, giving the burn a kiss. "Silly girl." He gave her another kiss, this time on the lips, dipping her down backwards a little dramatically. He lifted her back up, placing her on her feet and inhaling deeply. "Smells great though, thanks babe." He pressed another kiss against her cheek and reached for two plates, plating up their breakfast and turning on the radio. They sat and ate mostly quietly, humming along to familiar music, happy to just be in eachother's company.

"So do you think today will help you feel a little better? I hope so. You know I worry about you" Lyndsay kept one hand on the steering wheel, the other reaching to squeeze Cam's knee. She hadn't let him drive, even though he'd protested, not after he'd banged his head the day before, even though he'd insisted he felt fine. They were about fifteen minutes from the doctor's office, and it wouldn't take much longer.

Cam opened his mouth to respond, but was distracted by a loud clanging from the car's engine, heard even over the music playing from the radio. The car began to tick slowly, chugging along slowly until it began to stop. Lyndsay just managed to pull it over into a parking space on the side of the road, before everything switched off altogether. He frowned down at the dashboard of the car, turning to Lyndsay and opening his mouth to speak.

As the car began to bang and shudder, Lyndsay pumped the break cautiously, the car began to slow down more and more, even though she'd stopped breaking, so she pulled over. She didn't have to turn off the engine, it stopped completely before she had a chance. She heard Cam inhale to speak, and held up a hand to silence him. "If you say anything about my baby, especially if it includes the words 'hunk' and 'junk' I will end you" She tried to start the engine again by turning the key, but the car didn't even make a sound.

Cam knew when not to push his woman, and she was precious about her old car, so he didn't mention anything about it being a huge pile of junk. He checked his watch and frowned. "Lynds, if we wait for breakdown recovery, we won't make it before Keller goes on lunch, and he's not answering his phone, so there'll be no chance of seeing him. We should just walk."

Lyndsay sighed, and after a few more tries, admitted defeat. The two abandoned the car and walked the rest of the way. It was a nice day, a cool breeze meaning the heat didn't feel so humid on their skin. They talked and walked hand in hand the rest of the way, the fresh air relaxing them a little more than stuck in a stuffy car.

As they arrived, Dr Keller was fumbling with his keys, locking up, with files in his hands. They were just in time.
