It's been decades since the collapse of the Golden Empire, and the successor states of the Confederacy rule over most of the old territory not so much homogeneous but as a mosaic of mutually beneficial relationships- though with some infighting as such can't be avoided. Old orthodoxy has given way to a mosaic of political and cultural reformations, yet free from the old master they stand nominally united.

However, as more and more ships, vessels capable of sailing the White and Black Seas, are spotted from the south, fear of the Cloud Kingdoms rises. For, if they can conquer the once insurmountable waves and storms, then they represent a threat far greater than even the corrupted bloodthirsty decadence of the Golden Empire.

No ship is perfect, and so fortune has fallen upon the Confederacy as a Cloud Kingdom shipwreck washed upon their shores- the design incomplete and materials damaged, Confederates hastily brought it onto dry land by a fleet of smaller tug boats so it could be studied.

Now, the fledging town of Shattered Jaw within the Scorched Sea is finding resources pumped into it, for its location in relatively calm coastline at the far north of the Confederacy far from the southern Cloud Kingdoms makes it an ideal place to try to reconstruct the ship so that the Confederacy need not be so afraid of the wave riders.

It's an ideal place to create a bold armada.

The RP would follow various settlers in the rapidly growing town of Shattered Jaw, militia sorts, mercenaries, adventurers, what have you, who gathered there for whatever reasons with the goal of protecting the town as it grows and draws more attention, so that the Confederacy has some more stable footing with prospective enemies. They'll form the linchpin of the local garrison, and become a key part of the defence of the project.

Various natural problems, and man-made ones will have to be overcome- for example, while the town is far from the Cloud Kingdoms, it is not too far from their neighbours of the north, the Republics of the Great Plains. The Confederacy is not perfectly united either, and some do not like placing their trust in the once Imperial State that holds Shattered Jaw in its demesne. The Sunken Throne, the Marked Stone Kingdom, and the Bandit Coast are all also local threats to the project, each with their own reasons for wanting to prevent it. This is never minding the wild storms that rage in the White Sea, and the dangers of the Scorched Sea within which the town resides as well.

Can the Garrison keep Shattered Jaw safe through it all? Probably not, else there wouldn't be drama. BUT THEY CAN SURE TRY.

TL;DR: guys wanna build a ship- it isn't easy, so you have to keep them ( and the town ) alive and safe while they try.

well i mean only one person ive killed so far do i actually have fuck all for good cause but he seems to be taking it in stride

dont know if that will carry over to tool carrier of sand
hey so i just went back and looked at the images for the last turn and the one prior and it seems that the whole jar of sand thing has made an ink blot on the ground and thats disconcerting so maybe we should do something about that too at some point in case it does something other than nothing or vanishing next turn
i have it on my mind because i am defending us from it

that is why i have the current highest killcount
