Are you actually planning on running with this, getting it up off the ground? I hope there's more interest- I LOVE high fantasy with techno stuff added in.
I am wondering the same. I'm not particularly familiar with Half-Life, but I know a bit about Final Fantasy. The concept intrigues me.
Holy smack, I'd love to see this in action. If there's a vacancy, I'm in.
I have yet to read all of the information, but this concept is glorious.
In Oldguild, I was part of this RP and LOVED it. It was started by Scrapper, who happens to be, in my opinion, one of the greatest writers of all time. His glorious mind created a world in which people lived on an outcast island in the middle of gods only knew where, ruled supremely by a government that posed as a democracy. Those who opposed the government were discreetly disposed of or imprisoned. Disposal was preferred, as imprisonment meant being forced outside of society, underground, mining and fighting for survival against all of the other crude criminals that society produced. The rebels still lived, albeit a smaller population.

I want nothing more than to start this back up in a new name and hopefully relive the glory of being a rebel spy against the totalitarian government that manipulated and controlled everything and everyone they could. I know there are many of you that are MUCH better at leading something like this, much more qualified, and I was hoping to find someone to lead or help me lead this.

Scrapper, if you're there, I'd love to see you jump-start this again. I've missed my old friend.

P.S.- I miss our post-apocalyptic roleplay as much as this one. Gord and Bertha never died in my heart.
I'm starting to lose hope...
Guys?
ALISSA / TYRIAN

Tyrian shrugged half-heartedly at Hank. "She, uh... She's just... She's been through a lot today. This guy... Grundy. He... He stalked us and..." Tyrian ran a paw-hand through his fur-hair. "He killed her parents. Right in front of her."

Alissa curled herself into the fetal position, but she refused to cry. That's not what her parents would ahve wanted. But she was so ashamed of herself, losing control like that. The other part of her- the animal part of her- she couldn't let her take control ever again. She couldn't lose it like that.

But what if Grundy didn't die? She didn't remember what had happened to him, just that her parents had died. She couldn't remember anything... Just her anger, her rage, her resentment... She remembered the hate she had for Grundy killing the only people that had ever truly loved her. She remembered the pain of losing them. And she remembered the rage that took over her in the wake of her parents' death. She remembered needing to destroy something. But she didn't remember actually doing it. As she looked up and saw the damage that she had done, she hated herself even more. She had done this...

Tyrian watched her for a moment. "I think it's safe for us to talk to her," he half-whispered to Hank. He approached Alissa gently and sat next to her. "How ya feelin' Liss?"

Alissa's attention suddenly snapped back into reality, and she stared into Tyrian's eyes. "I'm never using my powers ever again."
And I'M sorry for being absent for the past several days. Buying a car is a load of stress and takes a ridiculous amount of time. But I bought a car!

EDIT:
I left on a VERY strong note. This should get good once we're all together.
ALISSA / TYRIAN

Tyrian heard the scratching and turned toward the noises.

"Hank, hold on, we can help you out of there." He stood up with Alissa and carried her to the diamond enclosure. "Alissa," he said softly, "can you help Hank out?"

Alissa looked up, sniffed, and nodded slowly.

"All you need to do is shapeshift and break up the ground. Can you do that?"

Alissa hesitated, but nodded again. She reached deep down into that little ball of energy that was inside her and imagined an elephant. She began to shift, but only ended up as a baby elephant.

Concerned, Tyrian laid his paw-hand on her head. "Wanna try that again? How about a rhinoceros?"

Alissa sighed and tried again, managing to become a baby rhino.

Tyrian glanced at Hank through the glass. "This is not good..."

Alissa shifted back into herself. "I'm sorry..." she muttered.

"This is not your fault. This was Grundy's fault. He did this. And you toasted him to a crisp." Tyrian picked her up and carried her several yards away. "I have an idea. Just stay here, okay?" He set her down gently by the building and strode back to Hank. "Hank, I need you to stand back from this side of the case. I think I can help you break up the asphalt on the outside."

Tyrian flew up into the sky, just enough for a proper divebomb, and hovered for a moment. "This is going to hurt a little," he mumbled to himself, then he flapped up once more, folded his wings around himself, and dove down wings first. He hit the ground hard and shattered the area in front of the diamond case, giving Hank more room to dig himself out. Tyrian started digging from his own side, finally finding a purpose for his claws.
