I'm a bit of a writer myself. Love dragons.

I really hate to contribute to the decline of this, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave as well.

My post-rate is abysmal right now, not to mention that I'm going to be gone for a full week soon, so I'll probably be missing that new plot point. My schedule is a mess, and it's hard finding the opportunity to give myself enough time to write.

So I'll be off, unfortunately. It was fun, even if a handicapped snail could have beat my rate of posting.
Opal

Now back at the den and seeing everything seemed to be taken care of for now, Opal slunk to her usual spot. It was where she usually napped. It was a little more private here and out of the way. It gave her the chance to keep an eye on things while at the same time being more or less hidden; It was the most comfortable spot she knew because of these qualities.

She lay down in the makeshift nest that had formed merely from her repeated visits, and she curled up in a ball. She rested her head down, but kept her ears keen just in case she was needed. For now she was going to take the time to rest and get some energy back after the running she did. She was still hungry, though.

Opal couldn't help but stiffen up slightly out of nervousness when the wolf gave her a friendly touch. Little things like that, regardless of the intent behind them, still made her uncomfortable, and it frustrated her to no ends. She knew it was a friendly gesture, so she hid her reaction to the best of her abilities; She didn't want to make Shadow feel bad for doing something that, in the end, Opal still appreciated.

At Shadow's offer, Opal nodded but was a bit troubled. She couldn't help but wonder if getting help on the extra hunt would defeat the purpose of it, but if Shadow wanted to help, Opal wasn't going to try to stop her. The help would be greatly appreciated. She turned and silently followed Shadow back to the den with her head a little low, keeping up but straying behind enough to let Shadow stay in the lead.
Sorry for taking forever with that post. Just got very distracted with lots of things happening here and there. Nothing big, but just enough to take up my free time.

My vote for spice is yes, definitely.

She hesitated a bit nervously. She expected some rebuking, but it looked like Shadow didn't mind. She supposed the hunt did go alright without her help (which also troubled her), but that hardly excused her for being late to everything.

"I-I'm sorry," She said to Shadow, keeping her head a bit low and eyes cast downward. "I woke up too late. I missed everything. M-Maybe I could go hunt for extra..?"

The more she thought about it, the better an idea it seemed to her. They could use all the food they could get, and she could make up for being a lazy dog. She doubted it would happen, but she still had a small nagging worry that perhaps she wouldn't even be given the privilege to eat today. She was a hunter after all, and she didn't help at all in this hunt. While the others might not have minded, she knew she had still failed the pack in some way.

Regardless of punishment or not, her own thoughts told her that she should make up for what she failed to help the pack with. She definitely should hunt extra. She nodded subtly to herself, having silently come to a decision before Shadow had even given her reply.

She ran quickly and with determination, following the direction of the voice of Tikaani, who had returned the howl. After a certain point, she recognized the scent of their trail, and she quickened her pace when she realized she was getting close already.

To her relief, as she approached a mountainside and cliff, she spotted the other wolves nearby. After stopping to catch her breath and relax a bit, and taking the moment to garner up some speaking courage, she called out to them.

"I-I'm here!" She stammered, approaching no one in particular and remaining at a slight distance, unsure of where she would be needed. She noted quickly that they were already mid-hunt and hoped she wasn't too late. Perhaps she could still be of some use.

Kinda feel bad at how slow this has been. I was waiting for @A Tattooed Girl, but I'm not sure at this point.
Opal

Scrambling out of one of her more favored and hidden napping spots after hearing the howling in the distance, she realized the magnitude of the mistake she had made. She normally didn't do this, and she was furious with herself for letting it happen even once. She missed the morning gathering, she was missing the hunt, she failed her pack.

Desperately hoping she'd be able to redeem herself, she hurried away in the direction of the howls. Perhaps it wasn't too late to join the hunt. She ran as quickly as she could, though she was slowed down some by the hunger that nagged at her belly.

While she ran, she considered howling to the others, but something was stopping her. Little doubts and anxieties began trickling into her mind. They reminded her of the mistake she made, gave her doubts, confused her. She growled in frustration, shaking her head to try to clear her head. This always happened. This always made it so difficult to talk.

She just had to not think about it. For now.

She tilted her head toward the sky and let out a howl, calling to the others on the hunt. She announced her position with that, and let them know she was joining the hunt.

Any tips on how I can introduce Opal?

@Aristocles Glad to see you're still around. I personally haven't been on the website in a very long time.

Also surprised to see this game back after all this time, even if I kind of missed the beginning.
There we go, posted my sheet. Hope it's okay.
