I love both the ideas, Banished sounds just a tad more appealing to me though I would love a Sci-fi adventure mystery as well. Just a quick question, in the Banished RP would the 'Devine abilities' be like magic? Or something else?
((Double post.))
Everything was moving so quickly, one moment he was fending off the birds and the next minute the swarm had somewhat dispersed and Al was left staring at the horrific beast and the handgun wielding teen who attempted to deal with it. As another flock charged he raised his umbrella once more, beginning to get the hang of deflecting them but also starting to run out of energy. Eventually one person emerged from the room, given he was shouting Al assumed that he was the German he'd heard before, he also guessed the rest of the students from the room would soon follow.

"Hey! Guys! I've got a plan on how to deal with the freaky dragon things!" He called out loudly over the sound of birds and beasts alike, moving over to a gate by the side of the ship, the same one they had passed upon boarding. He glanced over the edge and saw the drop to the water below and the well worn and rusted lock that was keeping the gate closed. "Try to lure it over here!" Bringing his leg up he gave a series of sharp kicks to the gate before it swung open. Al then turned his attention to the creatures, waving his arms and calling out to them. "Oi! Come and get it!" He shouted in English, trying to antagonise the beasts enough to charge him and hoping they weren't smart enough to see what he was planning.
I'm working on a post right now.
It was tough for Akira to tell if Chinatsu just didn't like him or actually just had a strange and off beat sense of humour, either way he didn't reply or respond, he simply continued to stare ahead. Soon after a silence settled Sayuri chimed in, providing a reassuring and optimistic outlook on things. Her positivity was somewhat infectious and Akira couldn't help but crack a smile, especially when their Sensei offered support to the idea.

As Hirudora warned that they were drawing near Akira's breathing picked up slightly and heart began pumping faster, adrenaline entered his system and he felt he was prepared...Or at least as much as he could be. He looked around his team one last time, hoping that together they'd be able to over come whatever came next.

Something was wrong. His Sensei had faltered and slipped back and he had over taken him, why? Was he preparing some kind of detection technique? His mind raced to come up with a solution as his head turned around, things were moving in slow motion and he finally saw what had happened. Akira knew that there was nothing he could do to help his Sensei now, he wasn't a healer, he wouldn't be able to move a fully grown man on his own and he was the furthest forward. Acting on instinct he reached into his bag and threw down a smoke bomb, hoping that would provide cover from further throwing weapons. After pushing off from his position the boy leapt off the nearest tree, rushing back towards Hiroshi and calling our to his team mates. "We have to move him! He's in no state to fight with a wound like that!" As he drew near he hoped that at least one of them would aid him.
I'm with Spawnling, small things are ok but having another player's character move or perform an action that has consequences and where that character would have had a choice should have consent from the player.
Al glanced nervously over his shoulder as the people within the conference room began to brainstorm ideas, while pressed up against the door he considered each plan that was presented. Eventually he stepped forward and clapped his hands together. "Alright!" In a fairly dramatic fashion he pointed a finger across to Kimiko who was setting up with their tools and getting ready to construct her device. "Focus the building efforts around there! Try to stay in this room, seems secure enough." He swung his backpack around and dropped it to the ground before pulling his foldable umbrella from a side strap, with a swift flick of his wrist he extended it before putting his back pack on again. His finger then shifted to point at Ryu before switching to a thumbs up.
"Splitting into teams is definitely a good idea but I think we need one more, there's still people trapped up on the deck and I think this will be easier with their help." He gestured to the door he had come through, the one that lead to the top deck. "I'm going to try and create a diversion and get them away from the doors, while I do one of you needs to get the students from across there down here!" Alvin turned and started heading upstairs, hoping at least one person would join him and holding his umbrella out like a spear.

Once at the top of the staircase he flung the door open and stepped outside, slamming it shut behind him. "Get ready to run back to the conference room!" Al called out to the trapped students, hoping they would be able to hear him. Soon enough the flock of birds turned to the new target. "Yeah come on feather brains!" He taunted, holding his umbrella ready. As the first swarm charged at him he opened up the top, using it like a shield to part the birds, he then shut it and waited for the next group before repeating the action. As more and more birds started attacking Alvin he began to dash around the deck, leading them away form the doors and towards the bow of the ship, all the white swinging the black umbrella around and yelling insults interspersed with loud bursts of laughter.
Alvin was sitting comfortably in his seat as the S rank student appeared along with the rankings and cards, he didn't think much of the strange occurrences, he was never a very perceptive person. Opening up the envelope he read the card, holding it and looking on both sides...A D rank? He thought to himself, giving a short burst of laughter aloud he muttered quietly. "Guess I'm not that gifted after all." There was certainly a mistake, that wasn't arrogance it was a simple fact, Al had always been a solid B student, C was the minimum and even then it was rare for him. That meant one of two things: either the other students were much smarter than he was, enough so to push him down two grades or (most likely) he had been placed in the wrong category. Either way, he was going to be putting himself forward for a shuffle match very soon, he wasn't quite sure what it would involve but if it was the quickest way to rank up and it meant he could avoid a three month wait then he was going to at least give it a try. He tucked the card away into his pocket and leant back in the seat and spoke aloud, trying to be optimistic about his disappointing grade. "Ah well, at least Academia's closest to the academy."

Looking around he noticed most people had begun having conversations, deciding it would be odd and rude to butt in Al headed up to the deck, maybe there would be some good views. As he headed up the staircase he heard quite the commotion accompanying someone shouting in...German? So he wasn't the only foreigner attending, that was comforting, what wasn't comforting was the violent squawking and fluttering of wings he heard as he neared the deck. Just as he reached the doorway he herd something heavy collide with something else, through the crowd of birds he saw a chair and then a person and then an opening door and then just a wall of whiteness attacking the shut door. It was then that some began going for Al, the started hammering the glass part of the door he was watching from, the most making it even harder to see things. He retreated back down the stairs to the conference room and started yelling, at first in English but upon remembering where he was he switched to Japanese. "Hey! Shut the windows! There's a swarm of angry birds trying to get in! I think they've trapped someone on the other side of the ship!" Shutting the door behind him as he entered the room he tried his best to not come across as panicked, more just urgent and he hoped the others would take him seriously. "C'mon this isn't a joke!"
Got a post up! Sorry it took so long, you guys are just so fast!
Akira felt slightly apprehensive about replying to Sayuri, space time and water techniques in addition to swordplay? How could he follow that? He gave a very slight sigh before replying with a gesture to wooden sword. "Like yourself I use blades but I know several Taijutsu techniques as well." He ran his hand to his belt and unclipped a bag of smoke smoke bombs, holding them up for her to see. "I also use tools and traps quite a lot, people often underestimate their utilities." After a little while he added on what he didn't want to admit. "I don't have an especially advanced knowledge of Genjutsu or Ninjutsu so I'm afraid I don't have any stories about new techniques I'm working on." His voice had gradually lowered in both volume and tone, he turned his head away to watch their sides and hopefully avoid the judgemental looks that he'd received so many times in the past.

As he went quiet he listened to Hiroshi and Hirudora, if there really was an ambush ahead then the group would surely be facing both superior numbers and attacks from multiple sides. Akira began to have doubts, things were not going as he had hoped they would, he was unable to shrug off the feeling that he wouldn't be able to aid the team effectively. Even the Sensei's words, which he assumed were meant to be reassuring, were likely aimed at the other two and so provided little comfort.

They were getting close, Akira gripped the hilt of his blade tightly and began to scan the surroundings. Left and right, up and down. He was determined not to let the attackers get the drop on him, he would strike first, he would prove himself to his team and his first mission would be a success. "This is what we've trained for, this is our duty." He whispered quietly, controlling his breathing and calming himself and maintaining focus.
